Hillary’s Camp Plants Questions at Energy Event
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has copped to planting a question at a Newton, IA event this week, after the Grinnell College student newspaper reported that a campaign staffer told a student to ask the NY Senator about her plan to fight global warming.
Patrick Caldwell reports that Grinnell College student Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff says her question and others were planned in advance.
“’They were canned,’ she said. Before the event began, a Clinton staff member approached Gallo-Chasanoff to ask a specific question after Clinton’s speech. ‘One of the senior staffers told me what [to ask],’ she said.”
Senior Spokesman Mo Elliethee tells FOX News’ political correspondent Major Garrett, “on this occasion a member of our staff did discuss a possible question about Senator Clinton’s energy plan at a forum. However, Senator Clinton did not know which questioners she was calling on during the event. This is not standard policy and will not be repeated again.”
Not exactly an apology. At least one rival pounced immediately. Edwards Communications Director Chris Kofinis tells FOX, “in light of a weak debate performance, not to mention a persistent inability to answer the tough questions, it appears the Clinton campaign has adopted a new strategy of planting questions — it’s what the Clinton campaign calls the ‘politics of planting.’”
UPDATE: Barack Obama’s Iowa Press Secretary Tommy Vietor says simply, “we do not plant questions.”

Is this the first one, or just the one that got caught?
Why is it alright for someone to be planted and asked questions of Hillary Clinton, but the media and Democrats especially were outraged when it recently happened in a Homeland Security or FEMA press conference?
They had only 15 minutes prior to going on the air, and no one was there, but they had received two questions by phone and staff members asked those questions that would have been asked by journalists had they been there.
Yet, the outrage was “he should be fired” for such a horrible act! There is absolutely nothing different about Hillary Clinton’s staff telling a person the question to ask her in a press conference or meeting. If it isn’t appropriate for ONE — it isn’t appropriate for another. The fact that someone was planted in the audience should be addressed fully!!!!
I guess she wanted to make sure she did not get any more “gotcha” questions like she did during the debate!
Reprehensible and especially at a college. It’s like getting the answers to an exam before you write the exam. It’s called cheating and worthy of expulsion.
Hillary’s field is full of “plants and fertilizer” – The mesmerized drones in the elite press corps has spent several years catering to the Clinton’s desire to have another 8 years to pillage the White House, ruin the leather desktop in the Oval Office and play golf during a national crisis.
Yup, it is time for Americans to truly realize what the inept Democratic Party and a truly stupid blond can do to ruin this country. Lets support Hillary and Bill’s bid for the White House
Hillary’s totally egocentric and self-serving plastic facade along with scripted and canned remarks plus her continual verbal sidesteps will be recognized as a true indication of a brain that lacks the ability to organize original thoughts or formulate plans for a viable society.
She is slipping on the ice covering the Democratic Platform, let her and her controllers fall through the thin ice near the podium. Socialists deserve a chilling dip in a pond covered with the icy remains of campaign rhetoric and lies.
This reminds me of that disaster for H.W.Bush at U of Richmond. I knew when I heard it who wrote the question to Bush about how he was affected by the economy’s turndown. He said (honestly and directly and a little perplexed by the question) that he himself wasn’t affected. This was the question that prompted Clinton to go to edge of stage and talk about “feeling the pain” of others. I watched for many years as PACs planted questions at local, state and national forums. This is just another of the ways Dems act dishonestly and fool the more naive of the general public. I watched for many years, there in person, this type of activity including the “walk around” money to vote gatherers,
Same old thing. Media wants a Democrat for President at any cost. Who really cares one way or the other.
This story has been way overblown. So what if she had a planted reporter asking questions? Hillary Clinton is our only hope to take back America and get it under control, and sometimes you have to do whatever it takes to win. The fact that people fail to realize this is simply shocking.
Is there any limit to how far she will go for her campaign? Her marriage, her family, relocating her family. When is enough, enough for Hillary?
This is so typical of Hillary. She will do anything for personal gain. Just look at how she destroyed the lives of Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, Jennifer Flowers and further victimized these women, all because they threatened her political career. Compared to that, planting questions doesn’t require a second thought for Hillary.
Her answer was…”It’s usually young people who ask this question.” Of course it’s young people…right after you’ve told them to ask the question.
All I have to say is typical Clinton. What else would anyone expect? These are power hungry people who would do anything to win.
I live in New Hampshire. These candidates are all here, all the time.
I think Carl Cameron will agree with me that a planted question about global warming is far more interesting than some of the ridiculous things people ask all these candidates.
Maybe it’s just me, but as long as it’s not a “gotcha” question, and it’s not from a person who is paid by the campaign, and the person is free to refuse to ask the question…
I don’t have much of a problem.
This could have been the equivalent of the staffer and audience shooting the breeze and the staffer saying, “Why don’t you ask that question to the candidate?”
Carl, agree or disagree?
Aren’t there a lot of really stupid questions asked on the campaign trail to candidates?
And the word “planted” is a little misleading.
A question on where a candidate stands on global warming, both R and D?
Is that really a problem for anyone, either R or D?
Had to be a planted question. Who really gives a crap about global warming?
Glad you see it this way … Thompson’s already recieved the digital pix I sent off …. oh yeah …. and nice of Hillaryous to release her “presidential” records too ….. what’s shocking is that you Band of Idiots actually think this hermaphrodyte actually has a chance of winning anything ….

we need someone in the media to do to the clintons what woodward/bernstein did to nixon, that is expose them! Fame and fortune will follow the reporter who has the balls to do this…why are they so afraid of the clintons?
Why do these jackass clintons keep getting away with this? We need to stand up to these liars…sheeeesh!
This is all about the “show”. National politics has devolved into showbusiness…Same for network “news”. Hilary is never ready for her closup until the storyboards are laid out, the script is written and the coreography is rehearsed. Her husband had this down to a science…Remember Normandie and the rocks placed on the beach so he could stop and “spontaneously” form them into a cross. Remember the soldier’s grave in France with the fallen grave marker flag so he could “spontaneously” bring it upright….All of this must be caught by cameras. The vanity and the arrogance are nauseating. Unfortunately, I’m afraid the winner of the race will amount to whoever has the most groupies.
George W. never went to a real campaign event in the past eight years! They were all staged, all invitation only, and all the questions were written by Bushies.
