Former CBO Director Gets in the Driver’s Seat for McCain
by Malini Bawa
Dan Crippen has had a long and illustrious career in government and business. But he’s always been curious about presidential politics, and now he’s doing double duty with the McCain campaign.
Crippen is a former director of the Congressional Budget Office. He chaired a panel advising NASA following the Columbia disaster, and is currently a health care consultant.
But he also serves as McCain’s health policy advisor, and drives an overflow RV filled with reporters, trailing behind the Straight Talk campaign bus.

Very nice to see a feature on an influential behind-the-scenes guy.
Makes one feel like we’re on the road with the campaign and lends insight into the company a candidate keeps.
Keep up this kind of reporting. It’s different. It’s good.
