I had to go to Real Clear Politics to read Rudy’s speech. This is the best, most presidential one that I have read or heard lately. He truely has a vision for America. It is laced with opitmism, not pessimism. He recalls Americas’ greatness and what we can do if we work together. Perhaps we Pro-lifers should remember a president does not make the laws. He does appoint supreme court justices. I do believe Rudy would appoint Supremes in the style of Roberts and Scalia.

Giuliani correctly recognizes that he must do something to recapture momentum; however, it’s unclear whether a speech is the answer, particularly when it’s simply a repackaged stump speech. If that’s all he does, it will make little difference, just as Romney’s recent faith speech made little difference. But if Giuliani really confronts the issues with the candor that Romney lacked, then maybe Giuliani has a chance to shake things in his favor.

I think Rudy will be helping himself but only if he can do one thing above all others… act presidential. If he looks and ‘feels’ like a president, similar to Romney’s religion speech. Also, and this is part of acting presidential, be a leader by laying out his platform and adding to that, language that says, ‘I may not be the most conservative, and I may do it for different reasons, but I will do everything you want.’, meaning nominate the right judges, no amnesty, etc.

I think he could turn some heads in Iowa and New Hampshire if he is ‘more presidential’ and believable than Romney, and to a lesser extent, Huckabee.

I don’t think it will make much of an impact. We’ve heard it all before. He talks tough, but his plan really isn’t that much different than the rest of the field. In the end, I don’t believe that a pro-choice candidate will receive the nomination.
