6 Million Dollar Man! Ron Paul raises THAT in one day!
by Carl Cameron
Per Jake Gibson: Des Moines, Iowa
Sunday supporters of Ron Paul organized a fundraiser on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. They raised an astonishing 6 million dollars! Even Dr. Paul seemed stunned.

Wow… I cant believe that fox news covered this … well a little… and they gave him a link under categories!! wooooo! I guess they had to, Ron Paul has money now.
President Dr. Ron Paul 2008
He has my vote in Michigan. He is the only politician I’ve ever understood. I trust Ron Paul, plain and simple.
What a waste of money!!!
I disagree with Mr Cool Like me.
How much money does new media fave Huckabee have? $650K. Where does your boy Rudy get his money? From supporters? No. From banks, investment firms, and defense contractors. How about Hillary? Big Pharm, health insurers, and other corporate interests. How bout Mitt? From his own personal fortune.
Paul is the only one with integrity in the entire field. The only one who’s never voted to increase taxes. The only true conservative in the lot.
Its easy to ridicule something you don’t understand.
“First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win” — Mahatma Ghandi.
Right on Ghandi!!
Paul is the only candidate who represents the interests of the American people and our soldiers overseas. The rest represent corporate interests. No wonder NewsCorp, CNN, and the rest try not to cover him. If elected he will stop their gravy train dead in its tracks.
Paul for Americans, the rest for multinational corporations.
Who do you care about and who are you going to vote for?
This will be a nice warchest for him…when he runs for congress again.
The man will not be President…stop kidding yourselves.
I find it dissatisfying that there is not more coverage of ALL the candidates for president. There are too many “pundits” and biased “talking heads” given airtime. There is too little research and true facts presented. Please don’t limit the American people’s information at this crucial time in history. Please give all candidates equal time, not just the “top three” pretty boys/girl.
I normally watch Fox News over the other media news outlets. However, I’ve noticed the coverage given to Ron Paul is minimal and marginalizied. I’m surprised Fox News conservative commenators don’t seem to take Ron Paul’s postion seriously or at least comment from a constitutional position comparing each candidate’s interpretation to it. From what I heard all the candidates say, both Democrats and Republicans, is that they support the constitution. It seems to me the other cable networks are more fair, balanced and unafraid when it comes to reporting on Dr. Ron Paul.
LisaV wrote “The man will not be President…stop kidding yourselves.”
Why not? Because the monied interests won’t let him? Because too many Americans oppose a message of liberty, low taxes, and responsible government? Because so many Americans support the overturning of the 2nd amendment, or because the majority of Americans think that our troops should remain in Iraq indefinitely? I think you may be mistaken.
I think you need to get off the TV and start to study the candidates’ actual positions and their plans for America. Unfortunately the only place you can get hard facts about each candidate and their plans is from each one’s website, not the TV coverage.
Americans are growing tired of the status quo that only benefits the top 2%. Paul’s message is a simple one that everyone can understand.
I understand why any coverage of the Paul campaign is slanted to either make it look like he has no supporters or that he is a “kook”.
The government and the media are scared to death of his message, and the fact that his support comes from the bottom up, not from the top down. The rest of the candidates, Kucinich and Gravel excepted, are all members of the pro-globalist Council on Foreign Relations. All favor indefinite occupation of Iraq and perpetual warfare, along with continued borrowing and spending which ultimately devalues our currency, hurting those of us who work for a living and don’t rely upon investment income (capital) to provide our sustenance.
Our nation is going broke funding that policy. More people are waking up to the reality of the situation.
First the ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.
I see that they’re trying to ridicule now that ignoring won’t work. I suppose the attack ads will begin in earnest when Paul does well in the NH primary. Although, based on his record, there really isn’t much for a conservative Republican to attack. Democrats on the other hand, have much to attack Paul on, particularly his stance on entitlements (which I thought Republicans were opposed). Evidently Romney, Guiliani, and Huckabee are pro-entitlement, pro-tax increase, and pro-gun control, as well as pro-gay marriage and pro-abortion, despite what they say. Check their records.
Every piece of slanted coverage and every slight only serves to strengthen the Paul campaign.
I ask you, who’s interests do you want represented in Washington? Multinational Corporations or the American People?
I vote for the American people, every time. Evidently, over 59000 individuals contributed to Paul’s campaign on Sunday. Unique individuals. Not defense contractors, pharmaceutical corporations or investment banks. Not labor unions. How many money bombs does Hillary get? Or Rudy? Answer = 0.
For a conservative channel, Fox sure does seem to favor big government liberals from both parties.
Color me confused, as Paul is the ONLY conservative running in this election.
C’mon, Fox News. I am a fan, but your fair and balanced doesn’t seem to apply to Ron Paul. Conservative to me means that you don’t try to police the world. Just remember back to Carter’s years where the Republicans were espousing that fact that conservatives do not intervene in another country’s soverienty, while Jimmy Carter was espousing the we can do so on behalf of human rights. The Republicans seem to be the new Democrats. And the Democrats? A fringe left-wing group at best, but facile in whoring for a whole lotta votes.
Lets face it. The media has been bought and paid for, for years and years and years. You’ll never see equal coverage of the candidates, and guys like Ron will never get the coverage they should, until WE demand it. Instead we will see converage for all the typical corrupt politicians, and we will remain a corrupt two-party system, where YOUR vote doesn’t count.
I’m voting for Ron, even though I know he can’t win, simply because its the only way to voice my disgust with the system.
Ron’s the only one that remains true to our founding father’s vision.
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
– Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
Ron Paul Ron
Very interesting. All the other candidates spend countless hours attacking each other while Dr. Paul just moves forward with his agenda!
Following my interview with Ron Paul at the CNN / YouTube Republican Debate another reporter questioned him on the last large day, Rep. Paul said quietly that this could happen again and he told the reporter to look out around Dec 16. Ron Paul states these days are just his contributers getting together and organizing fund raising special days on their own, The bottom line, He is well aware of this fund raising strategy. This is a great way to receive media coverage and it works.
Kudos for covering this… I expected Fox to skip over Ron Paul its nice to finally get noticed and get some coverage for the next president of the US, believe the polls of 300 people if you want… but dont be shocked come primary time.
Congratulations to Dr. Paul on his online contributions. His war chest is growing. Contra LisaV’s comment, I think Dr. Paul may use his money to mount a third party run a-la Ross Perot. If the last four presidential elections are an indicator, the Dems need someone to split Republican votes to put one of them in the WH.
If he did win the nomination, his ideas sound good, he just sounds bad on his delivery. Maybe he should look into making Mitt Romney his press secretary.
I’m an overseas voter. Takes time for me to decide who I should vote for, especially with the N.H. primary coming up. I’d like to think that I’ll vote for;
a) A person who has done something-not said he/she had done it
b) A person who has morals and ethics in keeping with the Constitution of the United States of America.
c)A person who doesn’t do a flip-flop in order to gather votes.
d)A person who respects the ideals of the United States of America.
e)a person who who puts forward his record-good or bad, and stands by their decisions(I get suspicious of someone who says he/she always right)
f) A person who can explain his plans for government and say how he/she is going to do it-not pleasant phrases in broad terms.
g) A person who will defend the United States of America against its enemies.
h) Lastly; A person who is honest in dealings with the people based on his/her track record in dealing with citizens, not relying on PR consultants-just on the record and factual.
Ron Paul…..Well, maybe of all the people in the field he might be the one. I’ve my doubts about a number of the others as do many people.
In any event, I’ve had my say………….Just don’t anyone forget to vote
that raised a ton of money as well as huge source of supporters who are going out and volunteering.
Republicans and Democrats have been bought out by special interests groups. There is no real difference in them. It is said they are, but the results don’t show it. Ron Paul may not have an ice cubes chance in Hell but I WILL vote for him. The press will continue to minimize him.
I ‘m proud to be a member of the new revolution. It was the first time I have ever contributed to a political campaigne, because I have always thought it was a waste of money. There has never be a candidate (in my lifetime) that has ever drawn as much enthusiasm and hope for our future generation than Ron Paul. He is a genuine person who is the real deal that speaks the truth. Everything he believes in comes straight from the heart. He says what he means, and he means what he says.
I predict when he is elected he will become one of the best presidents in our history.Bar none.
Welcome back…..AMERICA!
We want Ron Paul!!!! Fox News is a joke on not getting Ron Paul out there! What a joke of a video showing an empty room! What a crock of you-know-what!!! Try showing Ron Paul. This is exactly what Ron stands for is your freedom of speech! Well let someone talk on how much they like Dr. Paul! We want him President 2008! Jaime, Florida
Ron Paul has a very clear, easy to understand message. It doesn’t change according to polls.
It’s common sense…
but if common sense was common, more people would have it.
Ron Paul is not getting the attention from the media that he deserves. Don’t forget, big corporations and special interest groups own the media. That is why we don’t see Paul being covered. These big groups are scared that Paul will topple the “empire” that they have carefully crafted all these years. It’s too bad that they are so deep in lies and deceptions that when Paul arrives, the cameras go off and the reporters walk away. Only cowards and deceivers are afraid of the truth. Ron Paul is honest and most people can understand honesty and truth when and if they hear it. Ron Paul has my vote.
My Last President
The primaries are in front of us. What to do ?
At 70 years of age, it’s likely the next President will be my last President,
assuming she wins re-election in 2012. So who to vote now for to prevent
THAT from happening ?
It was thrilling, for me, to elect Reagan.
It was thrilling, for me, to see Newt over-throw 60 years of Democrat control in ‘94.
But clearly, since then, the Republicans have been corrupted by power.
The Treasury has been emptied with spending, and the great idea of free trade
has been mismanaged into an economic tsunami that is a strategic disaster.
The dollar is almost bankrupt and the strength of the country weakened.
We are becoming feeble.
Hard to believe the politicians have been yaking about issues for almost a year.
Soon the primaries will sort out the winners. I’ve looked at many of the debates on both sides.
A lot of yada, yada, yada. A lot of Clintonian weasel-wording on both sides but one of these
jokers will be my last President. They talk about solving problems in the first person singular.
“I … I… I…” The reality is much of what any of them want to do will be check-mated by the
other party in this fractured political war that is the U.S.A. today.
The primaries are in front of us. What to do.?
In the old days back in Brooklyn the Democrat machine ran everything. They still do.
Back then, Republicans were “me to” Republicans, meaning their policies were
basically the same as the Democrats. If you were a conservative you had
no chance of being heard above the herd, let along elected to anything.
Bada Bing, some of us bolted and created the Conservative Party. We began to be heard,
ran a couple of Buckleys for office and even won a few elections. The point being
we helped pull the Republican Party in NY back to it’s principles, and eventually
that conservative voice resonated across the country.
As I look at 2008 I’m back to square one.
Forget the “He can’t win.” approach. If this is my last chance to
raise my voice to what I believe is the best approach to governing,
who is that person among the jokers in front of me ?
I’m more libertarian than conservative, more conservative than Republican.
So, who is the “… John Galt” …for me?
Answer: Ron Paul.
Yes, yes, he has no chance to win.
And, yes, yes, he doesn’t talk about how to get us from
today’s feebleness to the shinning city on a hill.
And, yes, yes, his ideas will be blocked by vested interests.
But, to me, he is a shot across the bow of the Republican Party.
A call to arms to get this country back on track.
It took years to screwup this country and it may take longer to recover
but we need to begin. Mr. Paul’s libertarian ideas need to be heard.
After the primaries are over, I’ll probably support the Republican candidate
as the lesser of two evils. Until then, I want the Paul candidacy to pressure
that Republican winner with a block of votes that will help ensure
he stays with the program. -30-
