Comeback Kid ver. 2008: Romney edition

The Iowa Republican caucuses are a toss up. Mike Huckabee’s arrived. Mitt Romney’s not gone. BUT today Romney, who may well win, laid claim to victory in second. It’s hardly an original strategy, in the EXPECTATIONS GAME that is “the first in the nation.”

Carl:

That’s whats going on here in South Carolina. Huckabee is now in a dead heat with Romney at 23% a piece. I did see some pol data that is out today that shows Huckabee at 25% and Romney at 20% very close to the margin of error.

Many people will be surprised when Romney wins IA, and NH. Romney continues to gain strength even after all the attacks. Romney is the most organized and prepared for the presidency. Romney is the only one that can defeat Clinton in 2008! The race is on, but regardless of what the polls are saying Romney will get the Republican nomination and he will have my vote. Go Mitt!

Carl, this whole Blog is a Huckabee ad. Do you honestly think no one is picking up on this? How about getting out of the way and just report, fairly, whats going on like you use to do. You might want to interview someone besides the Huckster. Like the guy you are trying to torpedo…Romney. Your saying the things that are being said about the Huckster are wrong, unfair or not true, but just because Huck says so, doesn’t make it so. Challenge Romney to explain his position, and if you don’t like what he says, how about just reporting it and letting us “decide”, instead of your constant negative overview or opinion. Romney isn’t a lier, and since that is how you are trying to portray him, perhaps, to be fair, you need to talk to him. I live in Memphis, right accross the Mississippi River from the Huckster, and believe me, he isn’t what he has obviously convince you he is. He is a fraud, and there is a reason why he isn’t accepted by many in his own faith, and his cute one liners do not explain away the reasons. Be a reporter, dig a little, the truth will set you free.

Wayne, I’m not sure if Carl has another horse in the race or not, but Fox News, being based on NYC, is likely to have more Rudy supporters in their ranks. I can’t really get the feeling he is against Romney. I think some of the Fox News reporters should ask tougher questions, or go the next step with the questioning of Huckabee. It’s cute to hear him spin his raising of the Arkansas taxing & spending. He “cut taxes 94 times” for a reduction of $378 million dollars, but INCREASED TAXES 21 TIMES RAISING $883 million – NET INCREASE OF $505 million dollars in taxes. This gave Arkansas the 11th highest in the nation state-local tax burden.

Anyways, why should Romney say he is going to win Iowa outright? I believe it’s rather a pompous attitude to say you are going to win something when the battle has not been waged.

Methinks Carl had it right; Romney is playing the media to alter expectations. It’s not a bad thing — Huckabee’s people would probably like to do the same.

I agree with many of the bloggers that Carl’s Blog has been biased toward Huckabee. Most of the Ads/Blogs call Romneys shedding of the light on Huck’s record an attack. Explain to me how we are supposed to elect somone if we don’t know their record. The more I know about Huckabee’s record the mored scared I get. Notice he does not refute the reports, he just whines about being “attacked” well guess what sunshine if hes wins the primary you ain’t seen nothing yet. Do you think the democrats are going to put on the kid gloves for him because he is a nice Christian man. Rasing taxes, weak on immigration, a poor clemancy record are just the tip of the iceberg. Something that is going under reported is the 14 Ethics Violations he was charged with as Governer 5 of which resulted in findings he had violated ethical standards. Dems are probably saving that for the general election. Wake up America before it is too late …Go Mitt There is a reeason Huckabee isn’t attacking Mitt its becasue there is nothing to attack…he has an excellent corporate and Governership record and is a devout family man and Christian.

I enjoy reading the blog as I like to get my news from a lot of different sources. But I’m concerned that this blog that is supposed to cover the 2008 primaries is so heavily slanted toward the Republicans. This does not help to dispel the idea that Fox favors Republicans.

wow, just ONCE I’d like to see a non biased Carl Cameron. You could see a little bit of it last presidential go around where he came into fame but this time around it is very blatant. Becoming part of the MSM Carl? You know…where the opinions are spewed faster than the facts.

I agree the media is biased…I am starting to wonder if the Dems have a horse a FOX. If you look at the negative press releases put out on each candidate Romney has the most of any candidate.
Ann COulter keeps saying over and over the DEMS want McCain and Huckabee….it will be thier wet dream….she is right. The media is pushing Huck and Mc because they are the most easily beat. Romney is the only one who can stand beside HILL and does not have any dirt for her to throw….except religion….which will make her look like a bigot. Lets show the Dems….get behind Romney and show the Dems we are keeping the White House.
