Cameron's Corner

Bull and Red Bull

Carl Cameron has spent the last year on the road chasing the presidential campaign.

He and his team have covered over 50,000 miles traveling across the country. Dozens of dumpy hotels, missed flights, planes, trains and automobiles later … well, it’s not even close to over.

Field producer Jake Gibson gives a behind the scenes look. And as it turns out, one prerequisite is a whole lotta Red Bull.

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

I was just wondering what you may have heard in your travels about this story. I think it is a HUGE conflict of interest, but hey, what do I know? I think this election should be entitled the “BIG BETRAYAL ELECTION”. First I felt betrayed by some conservative Christian groups, some that I have supported financially for years, only to have them ignor a candidate who was saying the same things that they do. Little did I know that another big hit was around the corner when I discovered the story below and put it together with how many of my conservative heros (their books are piled up in my bedroom) were taking potshots at my choice. Huckalujah? Huckacide? Huckabee has a “team” in Washington? I guess it is all about growing up. I still love freedom though and I still love America.

Mitt Romney’s company, private equity firm Bain Capital, where he is still a silent partner, just completed after 1 year of pending negotiations a leveraged buyout agreement for $19.5 billion, of Clear Channel Communications. Clear Channel owns more than 1,100 full-power AM, FM, and shortwave radio stations, twelve radio channels on XM Satellite Radio, and more than 30 television stations in the United States. Premiere Radio Networks, which is the largest syndication company in the United States, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel and is home to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, FOX News Radio, and many others. Sean Hannity recently signed a large multi-market contract with Clear Channel. What would it cost to buy the support of just about every nationally syndicated neocon talk show host in America? http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/017694.html and also on wikipedia.

Romney’s campaign finance chief, Robert F. White, is a partner at Bain Financial. According to CNN/Money magazine’s Dec 10, 2007 “Millionaires-in-Chief” article, some 43% of Romney’s portfolio is currently invested in Bain Capital. http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/moneymag/0712/gallery.candidates.moneymag/6.html

Apparently, Clear Channel is going to sell off the TV stations and small radio stations, and just keep the big radio stations.

Thanks for all you do,

haha that was awesome! I love foxnews, and now that I’m home on Christmas break from college, I’ve been watching a lot of it! Lots of politics going on, it was fun and refreshing watching that behind the scenes look! You need to put more of those out! Thanks for that! – Adam

It appears that you don’t need to be a registered Democrat to caucus in Iowa. You can just show up and register on the spot. My big question is who’s watching the sign ups. Their is an estimated 85,000 illegal immigrants int the state. They could make the difference for Hillary since only 200,000 are estimated to show up tonight. Who makes sure everyone is a US citizen other than the Democrats.

yummy…good work, Carl and crew.

Huck is not worth reporting, actually he is, keep showing the laugh-a-minute candidate for last comic standing.

The more we see, the more we realize that he is the 2008 version of Jimmy Carter.

Huck is not presidential.

It’s very obvious that the FOX Sr. Mgmt. is exclusively supporting McCain and devastating Romney at every turn. We have been extremely loyal Fox New Channel viewers and are highly disappointed at this approach. As you very well know, most Republicans watch FOX News over CNN for their “suposed” fairness, at least as from a Republicans viewpoint. But now, you’ve become totally transparent in your single support for McCain. We actually had not picked a candidate, but your obvious fear of Romney has actually moved us toward Romney and away from FOX.
Did Roger Ailes forget about KEATING/McCain incident, post traumatic stress disorder (the Democrats and Media pulled out in 2000 when it appeared that McCain may be the nominee and will do so again)? From our opinion, you may regret devastating Mitt Romney. Romney is the only candidate that can stop the Clinton/Obama train, unless management of FOX News Corp., due to SEC and FCC rules and congressional oversight, would rather see a Democrat in office.
What happened to FOX and it’s past unbiased reporting — may as well tune in to CNN, at least I understand their bias.

Ditto Apollo. I would compare Huckabee to a “more fluent” Billy Carter? Huckabee is a fraud. As hard as FOX New (with the exception of Brit Hume and Sean Hannity – the only fair election coverage we seem to be getting from FOX these days), tries to ram McCain and Huckabee down our throats, thank God our brains are still in bloom.
Hey FOX, come back to your roots – honesty, integrity, and ethical reporting.
Why is FOX continuing to attempt to bury Mitt Romney – the only viable candidate? Where is your congratulatory message to Romney on his Wyoming victory?
Stop trying to shape our individual thought process — this is so unlike FOX News.
