Huckabee Exclusive Post Debate Interview with Carl Cameron
by Fin Gomez
Manchester, NH-
After the debate yesterday, Iowa Caucus winner Mike Huckabee, did not go to the Spin Room but to Fox News for an exclusive post-debate interview with chief political correspondent Carl Cameron.
Here is the intv:

Where is the story about the NH GOP pulling its sponsorship of Sunday nights debate? Must have gotten lost in the shuffle, huh?
As a follow-on to my previous post, I’ve sent this e-mail to O’Reilly.
Respectfully, Fox News has built a deserved reputation over the years of being “fair and balanced”. It’s sad to see all of this going down the drain in a short amount of time with blatant partisan reporting. Nothing epitomizes this more than “Campaign” Carl Cameron. “Huckabee Exclusive Post Debate Interview with Carl Cameron” – what a joke. First, nothing with Huckabee is exclusive. Second, Cameron’s blatant pandering demeans all of Fox News. It might even be argued that Huckabee is a creation of Fox, since most of his free advertising has come here.
Somebody needs to have the guts to stop this before the only decent network in a generation winds up going the way of all others.
If you can’t, who will?
Excellent interview! I saw it yesterday. Happy to have a chance to see it again. He said two things that made my heart leap: This should not be a fight between Democrats and Republicans, we’re Americans first; If you have faith you should not be made to feel ashamed of it. 80% of Americans believe in God. He has the best slogan, for what that’s worth, I Like Mike. Every time he talks about the second amendment I cheer.
That’s what I relate to. Not “we’ve come a long way since the back of the bus” and “George Bush is an idiot”, or even “I’ll check with my lawyers”. I still have serious concerns that he is too soft, but I just can’t help but like him. BTW, LOVE the blue jeans, Carl! I wouldn’t dis you for two cute little girls like Mike did
Carl, how can you work for an organization that excludes candidates based of profit motives? You seem like an honest guy, I think someone like yourself would have a problem with the injustice?
Keyes gets more mention on this blog than Ron Paul does, are you serious?
Carl, I have been a watcher of Fox News from its inception and you since your beginnings with Fox. I needed to write to tell you that I have never seen you so obviously slanted in your coverage before. You appear to be so pro McCain that you are practically salivating. Now, I don’t know if its b/c you are a dem and think McCain would the best opponent or if you are a repub. and favor McCain. Suffice to say, however, that if I am right and you do favor McCain for some reason or another, then it is clearly obvious to all of us viewers or I wouldn’t have detected it. PLEASE, for the rest of us out here in the other 48 states that would like to have an opportunity to view the candidate slate in some degree of fullness by the time it gets here, quit pushing McCain. I don’t even know who I might be for in the end but I should would like the opportunity to judge on my own instead of all of you deciding for us who will be in the running in the first couple of weeks.
Carl, Why are you and Fox news pileing on Romney and Fred Thompson! You never put any stories of Romney on unless they are negative. Fox news is not fair and balanced! You push Huckabee and McCain till we get sick. My neighbors are saying also we can’t tell the different between Fox and CNN, CNBC or other news stations. All the Dems you have on now Bill Hemmer, Chris Wallis, Major, Sherpard Smith, Comes, Greg Kelly,Molly and many more. We have been a republican for forty years and voted every year but this election will be our first year not to vote! We will not vote for McCain or Huckabee!! Mc Cain is a dem. Dennis of CA.
Once again Mike comes across as the “change” candidate for the Republican Party. He’s a conservative Gov. who had to deal with a democratic legislature and all things considered, did quite well. He was re-elected a number of times. Romney was not. If you want to know about a person, talk to the neighbors. Romney failed to get any indorsements from any major Mass. newspapers! People in Arkansas speak well of Mike. Mike is a statesman running for POTUS. Romney is a professional politician, part of the GOP fatcat club. People open your eyes. He’s on TV defending the drug companies!!! If you really want to see behind Romneys Presidential mask, view again his gushing, sniggering laugh when McCain told him,” You can spend your personal fortune on these attack adds, they won’t help.” WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Presidential Race, My Take
By Alexander P. De Filippi

Mainstream republicans have reasons to celebrate and to worry, from the news coming from the Iowa caucus this past Thursday January 3. In effect, Mike Huckabee, the mainstream candidate and future presidential republican nominee, won easily the election. The media calls Mitt Romney “the establishment candidate” because he has money, the true is; the real establishment candidate is Huckabee, who represents the George W. Bush line in all matters, from free trade, to immigration plus his pro-life stance. The mainstream or establishment candidate in the Republican Party is not determined by the amount of money or name recognition of the candidate, but by the base of support within the Republican Party that the candidate has. Governor Mike Huckabee has on his favors the two main factions of the Republican Party, the Christian right and the business community, no one of the other republicans in the race count with those two elements of support. Giuliani, McCain, Ron Paul, have to divide among themselves the fiscally conservative, non religious right, which is located mostly in the east and west coast, and that does not surpass more than twenty percent of the republican electorate across the country.
The second good news for republicans came from the democrats results, the establishment candidate, Senator Hillary Clinton, came on third place. I call her the establishment candidate because she counts with the media support and the money coming from that business community located mostly in California and New York. It is very difficult to foresee that Barack Obama could win a presidential contest against Mike Huckabee, therefore if the democrats nominate Senator Obama they would be loosing the presidential election, a presidential election that based on the results coming from the 2006 congressional election is up to the democrats to loose.
The sobering or sour note for republicans came from the Iowans participation in the caucus, Iowa isn’t New York, Iowa is a conservative state that went for George W. Bush in 2004 and slightly for Al Gore in 2000. Therefore the fact that the people participating in the democrat’s caucus was two and a half greater than those participating in the Republican caucus is a bad news for republicans. Iowa has only seen benefits from the George W. Bush administration for the last seven years, Iowans should be grateful of republicans, also, in that state, the grass root republican machine is almost as good as the one they have in the south, in fact the Christian republican grass root machine runs well even in New York City. The Iowan local press isn’t liberal either, therefore that massive participation of people, including independents, in the democrat’s caucus, is impressive and should put the republicans on notice that something as unusual as the awful results of the congressional and gubernatorial race of 2006 could happen again this year.
The democrats conundrum, the democrats have the momentum with the American electorate this year as they had it on 2006, therefore wining the presidential race should not be a problem for them. Nevertheless, in spite of the favorable winds, the democrats find themselves unable to nominate a good candidate; any of the three main contenders, Obama, Edwards and Clinton is an easy target for republicans. Any of those three should loose in a race against Huckabee, any of those three democrats will have to name a vice-president that can help them, maybe Al Gore? Vice-president again? I do not know. I believe the democrat establishment will be able to save Hillary Clinton becoming her the democrat nominee, unfortunately for democrats, she is a poor candidate, as any of the three just mentioned. Therefore the democrats’ faith depends of two factors, the vice-president they name and a repetition of the 2006 phenomena where independents and moderates, nationwide, broke for the democrats. The democrats could make easy for them to get the independent and moderate votes if they play the “minister card” against Huckabee. Independents and moderates, that make up easily twenty percent of the electorate, tend to be non religious, the reason they tend to be moderate or independents is become they do not take any position to the extreme, whether we talk about politics, environment or religion. In addition this time the republicans, apparently, won’t have the Hispanic support as they did in 2000 and 2004, the media has manipulated the immigration subject in such way that Hispanics, unfairly though, perceive republicans as anti-immigrant.
My first post was not posted. I’d like to try again. I think everyone should e-mail Bill O’Reilly asking him to step in and stop the bias in Fox’ coverage of the election. We have to do something. To call attention, please use the same subject line. I used “Fix Fox”. Let them know that loyal viewers are upset. I want the Fox I’ve always known. I don’t want to switch to CNN!!!
Fox News has been great in the past, but I agree with a previous poster, I don’t like these recent moves.
Good news is, with technological advances, the mainstream media actually has less influence on this election than any before, and that will continue to improve as time goes on.
Romney clearly one this debate..
This debate reminded me of schoolyard bullies ganging up on the “good guy” and some of the comments were beneath contempt. Carl, I think Fox should reassign you and have someone who is not such an obvious Huckabee and McCain cheer leader. I have been with Fox for years and am dismayed when i see what is happening to the election coverage lately. You seem to have become too personally involved.
Mr. Romney, needs to realize that the kitchen gets hot…if he wants to stay in it he should quit whining about it being “personal” every time one of the other candidates responds to his inaccurate/untrue attack ads. He is way off base attacking anyone’s position on pardons and illegal immigration. I am not even sure that Massachusetts HAS a death penalty. But, they certainly DO HAVE sanctuary cities!
McCain was right…we don’t want to hear constant bickering over WHO has the strongest Illegal Immigration policies…it is time to move on! The way the problem is address today…after the arrival of 15 million illegals is much more important than the way it has been addressed in the PAST when the life-boat was only half-full.
It’s disgusting how Carl Cameron is so bias. It very obvious that he is a Huckbee fan . What happened to interviewing Romney who won the debate in N.H.. I am a fox news fan and am very upset at the corverage you are giving one candidate. That is the buzz in my neighborhood.
