Okay, so I’m watching this “debate”.
I noticed in the banner at the bottom that Mayor Guliani and his “CURRENT” wife reside in NYC.
I noticed in the banner at the bottom that Senator Thomposon and his “SECOND” wife Jeri reside in….
But you mention that Senator McCain and his WIFE reside in…..
Hmmmm… some reason you didn’t point out that that is Senator McCain’s second wife?????
You slide into MSM land seems to be increasing…..
I am enjoying the debate because i can see real strength adn weaknesses.
Huckabee dodged Romney’s charge about Arkasas tax hikes. Romeny was positive adn professional and continued to press Huckabee for a response. Huckabee finally appears to have conceded he hiked taxes by blaming judge. Thus he dodged the question adn accountablity. Ultimately he refused to respond to Romney directly.
Chris asked Huckabee if the latters comment (Do you want to elect a President who reminds you of the guy who laid you off?) was directed at Romney. Huckabees said no. That is SO DISINGENUOUS!!
Mc Cain dodged Romney’ questions about teh Bush tax hikes and about amnesty.
Both Mc Cain and Huckabee act mad and annoyed at having to answer Romeny’s questions which are fairely framed.
GREAT DEBATE ! Why can’t George Bush make John Mcain a 5 star General and sent his butt to the Middle East ?
Where was Ron Paul?
Fair and balanced? Fox where was Ron Paul? ABC had him on the debates last night and you exclude him. That would be expected from others, but not your war cry.
Fox News’ spin behind not letting Dr. Ron Paul in tonight’s debate is sad…very sad…
Here is what Ron Paul’s spokesman said regarding the subject:
“I don’t know why they would exclude Dr. Paul when he outpolls Fred Thompson in New Hampshire, he beat Rudy Giuliani in Iowa and raised more money than all of them this past quarter,” Benton said. “By all metrics, Dr. Paul belongs.”
If anything this may fuel the fire behind his supporters – it did me…and I was sitting on the fence. I just donated to his campaign and encourage all who support him to do the same!
Fair and Balanced my butt!
I think the focus group was way off base! These people definately had different opinions than all the people I watched with. We all thought that Romney was very weak. He was terrible terrible terrible!! We though McCain was fantastic!!
Glad to see they decided not to pile on Romney tonight. It was borderline uncomfortable during the CNN debate. I’m undecided at this point but turned off by Huckabee’s whining. A McCain can get a bit holier-than-thou as well. Romney has a right to point out differences between himself and his adversaries. By the way, Huckabee, what you’ve said about Romney’s religious and what your campaign manager said about knocking his teeth in was much more of an “attack” than anything I’ve seen from Romney’s camp. And I used to like you. No more.
Huckabee has been annoying me lately.
Where was Doctor Paul? The War-mongers are all here, where’s the voice of decent? These people don’t represent me, these people represent Bil Oil, Big Pharma & Defense Contractors — these are the Halliburton & Bechtel fans…where is our champion? Who on that panel is fighting for our freedoms — how do these guys feel about HR-1955? These guys are bought and paid for & they will impose the agendas of the CFR & Tri-Lateral Commission.
IS THIS STILL AMERICA???
**rolling eyes**
To whom it should concern,
As a lifetime Republican who worked on both of Reagan’s elections in 1980 and 1984, I am appalled at your biased partisan behavior banning Ron Paul at your Jan. 6th before a single vote has been taken in this election. Ron Paul is the only candidate that represents the disgruntled American voter who is mad as hell about how our freedoms and liberties are slowly being taken away by a Federal Government that will not follow the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights.
FOX NEWS has not lived up to it’s marketing hype of being “FAIR and BALANCED” when it tries to “rig the elections”. It seems to a lot of voters, you only want five of the same exact opinions in your round table discussion and you “know what is best for America.”
Your logic in banning Ron Paul is illogical, because
1. Ron Paul polls higher in New Hampshire than both Adolf Giuliani and Fred “rebel without a clue” Thompson.
2. Ron Paul has won more than half of all of the Republican Straw Polls this year.
3. Ron Paul has raised almost four times as much money this quarter as Huckleberry Pile and probably every other Republican running for President once they announce their numbers for the quarter. This money isn’t BLOOD MONEY, because it didn’t come from corporations or any special interest groups, it came from people like me and over 107,000 new individual donors this quarter who have responded to his lone message of ending the illegal IRAQ war and reducing the power of the Federal Government by returning that power to the state and local governments.
4. Ron Paul has the largest grass roots support of any candidate and has almost 100,000 non-paid people on his Meetup.com groups. Guiliani and McCain only have about 40 people last time I checked.
5. Ron Paul’s supporters are the most intelligent, computer savvy, and diverse group of supporters of any candidate running for office this year. I would lay money that our average IQ is more than any other candidate out there.
6. Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate that can attract both Reagan Democrats and Independents to vote for him in the November election. That scares the hell out of the Democrats and it will be a factor in a lot of state primaries that are open.
WE THE PEOPLE believe that all election polls are IMMORAL and anyone showing or performing a poll before any election are EVIL as hell !!! As Penn & Teller would say, F@$% Frank Lutz and the spin doctors!!!
Our pledge to you:
1. We will never ever vote for those candidates whom you tell us to vote for anymore.
2. We will not vote for the lesser of two evils, because they are still evil.
3. A vote for someone you tell us has no chance of winning or to vote NONE OF THE ABOVE is never a wasted vote. It is a vote that WE WANT CHANGE NOW!!! I am proud that I have never voted for a BUSH or CLINTON.
4. Waterboarding is torture and we as a democracy should never condone it being done under any circumstances. Guantanamo Bay needs to be closed immediately and habeas corpus restored to anyone under detention.
Our soldiers should only die in war to protect OUR CONSTITUTION, but never to help your TV ratings so you can line your suit pockets with money. You should be ashamed of yourselves and the blood of our sons and daughters on your soiled hands, so enjoy your blood money because one day you will meet your maker and you will have to answer for your transgressions against your fellow Americans.
As retaliation against FOX NEWS, we have put a block on all of our TV’s in both our house(s) that all FOX associated channels are now blocked and we will not buy any products from any company who advertises on your satellite, cable, or local affiliate television stations. We will not support companies like FOX NEWS that try to profit from foreign WARS like IRAQ while our children pay the ultimate price and die while our leaders pass laws like the Patriot Act that takes away our personal freedoms, liberties, and eventually bankrupt our country financially and morally.
Long live the Ron Paul rEVOLution !!! It has just begun and you cannot stop it or should try to stop it. It will last long after this election and it will hopefully change America forever back to the guiding principles it was originally founded.
You decide 2008 needs to be change to Fox New Rigged Polls Decide 2008.
Sincerly,
Dave
I’ve been wondering… Where was Ron Paul?
Fox News… You should be ashamed of yourselves
Ron Paul has broken the fundraising records twice now for the GOP. He has the largest internet following of ANY of the current GOP candidates and garnered 10% of the vote in the Iowa primary including 29% of the registered independents! (By comparison, Rudy Guiliani received 3% of the vote total)
Yet for some reason you still feel it necessary to censor him by refusing him an invitation to the NH forum. What is it that you are so scared of? That people will actually see a man worth voting for who doesn’t pander to special interest groups?
The revolution is coming and you cannot stop it. Ron Paul 2008!
The focus group data that was presented was not at all believable. I have 15 people in my home watching the same discussion and all of them (most are also undecided) believe that the focus group was actually a plant for Romney or that Romney had them planted. There was too much passion in the answers of the group to be real or to have be developed from this debate even if Romney did 10 on a scale of 1-10! What about the poll leader McCain?
Where was Ron Paul? When all candidates appear together, Fred Thompson pivots off of the others, waiting for some guidance point to start from, then jokes about trivials. Ron Paul shows the innovation clearly lacked by Thompson.
McCain seemed old and slow. Mitt ran Rings around him Mitt Slam Dunked this one …
I think Fox News needs to change its name to WeLoveMittRomney News. Robert Murdoch must be in business w/ Romney. What’s up w/ the talking heads and their relationships w/ Romney.? I am tearing up my Weekly Standard Subscription because Fred Barnes is full of bunk. I am only watching Shep, Neil Cavuto, and occasional Bill O’Reilly from now on. This loyal watcher is turning the channel to CNN.
Most Americans are fed up w/ status quo and if Mitt Romney, who knows nothing about middle America, is our next Republican candidate then it looks like Obama will be the next president.
Did “Campangn Carl” in his post forum analysis use his notes from last night debates on ABC? I thought Mitt Romney defended his positions with conviction and articulately. I also disagree with Mort K who stated that all candidates did a good job defended their various positions. M. Huckabee couldn’t even honestly respond directly to M. Romney’s question on “net spending”. It took Mitt three separate times before the question was answered; and then an excuse was offered. I respect J. Mc Cain for his dedication and service to our country, but is it necessary for him to remind us of this at every turn. And R. Guiliani, as we all know is from New York etc.!!!!!
Washington needs “new blood” to shake it up.
I think Mike Huckabee was very strong. He is the only candidate in this party speaking to the concerns of the middle class and real America. He also had an excellent answer on immigration, in which he rose above the bickering over “amnesty” records and instead focused on a forward-looking, sensible message of simply solving the problem. He seems very principled.
I could not disagree more with Luntz’s “focus group” of “undecided voters.” I think Romney comes across as arrogant and out-of-touch. I also did not appreciate the free air time of two of Romney’s attack ads smearing two of the candidate there on the stage. That wasn’t fair and balanced.
I’ve been watching this past week while everyone at Fox tells us Romney is finished. I felt FoxNews was pro Rudy. Funny how I feel fox news is anti-Rmoney and now some feel they are pro romney. Without the focus group, Romney would have been ignored. The focus group finally made the pundits call it as they see it.
Another reality check is to watch the blogosphere. Last night there was tons of activity that Mitt handled the attacks. Now there is a flood of Mitt praise tonight. I say listen to the people and what they decide. No more pundits telling us how to interpret it.
Ok…listen. I am a young voter and I am watching this god-forsaken debate. Clinton and that old guy are getting on my last nerve. Jsut the way they think they are entitled to the presidency. I wish that these people would start talking about the real issues. They are going to be in this place for 8 years and all they mention is change; healthcare and getting out of the war. So what are they going to do with the other 7 years? I want to know their stance on every political issue that is going on today. From Bin Laden to conspiracy theories about the government, such as G.W.Bush blowing up the towers. I think that the other 2 guys are pretty good, but i want to hear more about their stance on certain illigal substances. I would like to see alchohol illigal. It has done too much damage to too many people.
reguards to this nights discussion—everyone did not get equal time —and it would not be polite to interrupt —-so what was Rudy and Fred to do? Questions were execellent—could you please do this again soon–and just go right down the line with the questions–do not want to hear about the differences between the other 3–just need to know how they would bring about change in a realistic way—Rudy and Fred did this—- but some how feel like those who came on fox news after the discussions missed it and so did Fox News–sincerely, barbara campbell
PS like Fred’s plans and like the way he wants to keep us informed and Rudy’s passed performance speaks for itself–the other 3 have issues about there past performances and issues among themselves—-so now lets get behind the people that will be the best for our country-again-thank you for this opportunity–sincerely– barbara campbell
Rudy totally won, Fred #2 loser was Huckandmitt
I am still undecided on who I will support, but I will not support Romney. He seems arrogant to me. He will say something and then when he is called on it he “amended” what he says to not sound like such a jerk. I am not sold on Huckabee, but I agreed when he said that he would answer Romney’s questions any more.
I think Romney won the debate tonight. Both McCain and Huckabee proclaim that they are running positive campaigns, but they are just as negative as Romney–and probably more so because they both are more personal in their criticism. There also tends to be a holier-than-thou attitude in many of their comments that is quite disingenuous. Romney was by far the most eloquent in tonight’s debate and seemed to have the best command of facts. Though I know it was important for each candidate to distinguish himself from his opponents–and in many cases this was pretty much a result of the questions presented by Chris Wallace–nonetheless I have been disappointed in general in the Republican debates in how much more they criticize fellow Republicans more than the Democrats running. I have to say that I have noticed that often McCain smiles and almost laughs on the outside when I have the feeling that he is seething on the inside–such as on the age question–and it makes me a little uncomfortable. I don’t think the Luntz focus group was contrived in favor of Romney because up to this time (in several other debates( the Luntz groups have been very unfavorable to Romney. The closest thing to that I can say is that in many of his focus groups there seems to be a consensus that gives me the feeling they have discussed the candidates openly before going on the air, which may result in some subtle inter-group persuasion. Certainly Luntz seems to know what the person he calls on is going to say.
This is why we like Huckabee:

I am boycotting FOX and their monoply on media. It was a very bad decision from the Murdock camp to exclude RON PAUL. One of the most wonderful (so called values) of the American way of life is equal opportunity therefore FOX NEWS can not longer claim FAIR and BALANCED. Hypocritics!!!
