Out of New Hampshire and on to South Carolina: The Sprint Continues
by Carl Cameron
It’s off to South Carolina for the Fox News Debate for all GOP candidates but first some will campaign in Michigan which holds it’s primary on Tuesday, January 15th. The Republican primary in South Carolina follows a short four days after on Saturday, February 19th.

I’m 23 years old and if I never hear a ‘change’ campaign again, well, I think I might just be alright! Obama has no leverage to back up the promises he spits on a daily basis. I think this race has become a lot less of HOW he plans on achieving his many goals to a personal goal of how many times he can put ‘change’ in each speech. I’ll take someone who has the experience to actually make the change happen; I’ll take Hillary, please. ….Oh, and has anyone ever asked that young crowd, which is so vivacious for Obama, what is it about his policy platform they most like? I’m guessing you’ll get a lot of speechless people. No politics; it’s all about a free show.
Good luck in South Carolina Hillary. I hope the voters in S. Carolina hear your voice just as the voters in New Hampshire did. …
Congrats ^^
I’m 23 years old and if I never hear a ‘change’ campaign again, well, I think I might just be alright! Obama has no leverage to back up the promises he spits on a daily basis. In fact, I don’t ever recall his campaign going much into detail about ANYTHING, rather I think it’s become a personal endeavor to see how many times he can put change in his speech! Well, duh. Anyone is change after the seven year train wreck. I’ll take someone who has the experience to actually make the change happen and bring this country from a joke to greatness; I’ll take Hillary, please. ….Oh, and has anyone ever asked that young crowd, which is so vivacious for Obama, what is it about his policy platform they most like? I’m guessing you’ll get a lot of speechless people or ignorant answers. No politics; it’s all about a free show.
Hey, what’s with this site? I came to see the details of the exit poll and found none of tonight’s news except one graphic. You guys gotta back up the cable channel in real time if you are going to get many eyeballs.

I’d like to know why this campaign has not addressed the number one threat to the children of our country. I have not heard one news show or one candidate address the issue of the illegal use of pain pills by the citizens of this country. Perhaps many are under the false impression that it “doesn’t affect me.” If that’s the case, they are living under a false sense of security. Every family that I know has been affected by this epidemic. Whether it’s a child, a brother, a parent, a cousin…….there’s someone close to you abusing prescription pain pills. We don’t have to worry about terrorists destroying our country…….we’re doing it to ourselves through the use of prescription pain pills. If you think it’s not true, just ask some of your neighbors, friends and co-workers. If they are honest with you, they’ll tell you their personal story about their involvement and misery with addictive pain killers. I challenge this network to start the movement and find out what this country and our government is going to do about this epidemic that is quickly killing our young people.
What about Michigan? Do we skip that like we skipped WY?
I read that McCain has a son serving as a Marine in Iraq. God bless and keep both of them.
Do any of the other candidates have sons or daughters serving in the military? The candidates talk tough when it comes to foreign policy and use of our military, but I’d like to know if any of their kids will be fighting alongside me on the next deployment. That would mean a lot more than “best wishes.”
Hey Carl, you missed Michigan. You have shown such a bias against Romney. You focus on all the states Romney is weak in. You also skipped Wyoming, where Romney earned 8 Delegate votes, more than McCains’s 7 in NH. You also have focused on Romney coming in second in both Iowa and NH, and never addressed Romeny’s victory in Wyoming. You are so bias against Romney and it is evident when every time you open your mouth you say something negative about Romney and twist his message. Romney is the only GOP candidate that has a chance at beating Hillary or Obama and everyone knows it. My question to you is, are you just a regular bigot anti-mormon, or do you just want the Democrates to take the oval office?
Your blatant support of both Huckabee and McCain is pathetic. As a ‘journalist’ you are supposed to be reporting the facts, not your personal agenda. Might as well be watching CNN or MSNBC….Fox News is losing viewers right and left because of they are getting as bad as those other two networks in their reporting. You in the media think it is up to YOU to elect the next president. Huckabee is a silver-tongued devil just like Bill Clinton, and I guarantee you, if Huckabee or McClain get the nomination, alot of conservatives will not be voting.
Carl:
The buzz in SC is that Gov. Romney is “not sure” he will be in town for Thursday’s Fox Debate and he’s pulling down is ads. Is he preparing the “big” announcement? His strategy of winning Iowa and NH have certainly left something to be desired. SC is between Sen. McCain and Gov. Huckabee. SC should prove to be the tie-breaker going into Super Tuesday.
New Hampshire… “Live Free Or Die”, is going to have to be changed to “Live Almost Free Under Hillary, and Consider Dying if Need Be”.
Seriously, I think the demographics of the evening were that New Hampshire, a bedroom retirement state for a very liberal Boston metropolitan area, factored in. A lot of retired ladies in New Hampshire, the vast majority very hard left. Quite simply, they got out the vote for Hillary.
The polls? I would bet that of every young person polled to vote for Obama, 2/3’s of them wouldn’t show. I have a son in college in New Hampshire, and that would just about fit him.
Did the crocodile tears work? Baby-boomer retired ladies who were sitting on the fence between one hard left liberal and one who wants to socialize medical care? Are you kidding?
I love, love, LOVE when you are on! Your sense of humor is FANTASTIC and you are so super informative! THANK YOU Cameron!!!!!
I am confused. Why are you ignoring Michigan and Nevada? Romney is polling ahead in Michigan. Are you trying to spin Romney out of the race?
Hey Carl,
just wanted to let you know your reporting is superior. Always learn a lot. And, no bias! Perfect.
Thanks.
Also, are your flying or driving to SC?
What about Michigan!! Dont forgot about us.
Will someone please tell Carl that the Black population in S.C., according to the latest census, is 29%, not 50%.
i cant understand why carl cameron is so negative when it comes to mitt romney ? i cant remember him saying anything positive about him or his campaign yet .personally i think huckabee won iowa because they didnt care for any of the other candidates and didnt like romney because hes morman ,and huckabee is a christian pastor (remember large evangelist Christian voter turn out) .and then in new hempshire you have a state mccain won 4 years ago plus independents most likely flocked to mccain .even with all of that romney still won wyoming and is second only to huckabee in delegates ,so why is carl cameron saying now “michigan is a must win for romney”? did romney ignore carl cameron , we are only a couple of weeks in this years election and only three small states have cast ballots, so remember its not over till its over .so i ask again ,why is cameron trying to end mitt romneys campaign ,basically whats carl camerons dislike and problem with mitt romney?????

Before entering politics, McCain was a pilot in the Navy (1958-1981). He spent five-and-a-half years as a Vietnamese prisoner of war at the infamous “Hanoi Hilton,” where he was placed in solitary confinement and tortured.

THIS MAN HAS THE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE TO LEAD WE DON’T NEED A GOOD TALKER VOTE FOR MCCAIN!
I realize that the media doesn’t realize this, but there are states beyond the original thirteen…
Wyoming. Mitt Romney–Gold
Mitt’s Western Strategy will propel him to victory.
Mitt is the only candidate who is competitive in every single state. Look at the polls.
Mitt has more gop votes than any other candidate and more delegates, as well.
Think about what a president does-he is the chief executive of the largest entity in the USA.
We need a proven executive, someone who has created thousands of jobs, someone who has saved companies and SAVED jobs. If the companies don’t exist, nobody is employed.
With the weak dollar and $100 oil, we need someone who understands the economics of the world we live in, not referring us to some position paper (like Huckabee told me to do when I spoke with him a few weeks ago…he then changed the subject to knee surgery)…
In order to understand the economy, you need to have worked in it. Nobody else on either side has ever done anything in the private sector. Only Mitt has created jobs (I take that back, Huck taxed Arkansas taxpayers to pay for an INCREASE in government jobs, not free-market jobs–that is Hillary’s plan, as well…it didn’t work in France, it won’t work here…)
Mitt is the type of guy who has always HIRED me. My buddies need me for free labor on weekend projects, but if we want someone who mooches, vote for that guy. IF you want to have America leading the world in technology and real jobs, vote for the guy who has done this in the past:
Mitt Romney.
Mitt can help with strengthen the dollar and provide real solutions for long-term growth of careers in the US.
Mitt is presidential
Did you accidentally forget Michigan or was that blantant? Seems unfair to discount the vote of Michigan by not even suggesting that the fight moves to Michigan before South Carolina.
The truth is that South Carolina is light-years away in the political schedule. So much will be said, heard, discussed, polled, and fought over. The whole race could be completely changed by then and with all of the last minute turnarounds we’ve seen, South Carolina can’t be given to anyone yet.
Iowa and New Hampshire taught us that the media (including Carl) does more to STEER than it does to PREDICT and EDUCATE.
SAM, re: “Do any of the other candidates have sons or daughters serving in the military?”
Sam, like Dick Cheney during Vietnam, some of these candidates’ children have “better things” to do. Maybe we should all first ask Dick Cheney what “better things” he found to do when the military needed HIS service.
In addition, I guess most of us believe that the PRESIDENT should set the example, by sending HIS kids, before we ask any of the CANDIDATES for President to set our example.
If McCain’s your guy because his son is serving in Iraq, so be it. My husband is a combat vet of Gulf War I and I wouldn’t allow my kids to join the military under this Commander-in-Chief under any circumstances.
Oh, and Mitt Romney told us that his sons WERE serving their country, by campaigning for their dad. Kind of sounds like George W. Bush in Alabama during the Vietnam War, while John McCain was a POW, huh?
I would like to see all the candidates debate a new way:
1. Answer given by Candidate A not be heard by Candidate B
because B will build on A’s answer and not formulate their own answer.
All the candidates but Fred Thompson are affraid to put out real plans to solve the real problems. He has detailed plans that are not “dreams” but are actually workable steps in the right direction. All the rest are saying “What will it take to get you to buy this car today ?” Fred is not idealism, he is realism and truth. His experience runs deep and wide. He is no “Lemon”.We are electing a leader not the best “campainer”. Go to Fred08.com to see what real leadership is.
When I think of Hillary … all that comes to mind is “THE MOST ANNOYING PERSON ON PLANET EARTH”
Hillary is an old time Washington legislator. You can’t legislate people, you must lead them. And no one wants to be lead by the most devisive figure in the history of American politics. We will get nothing but spit, mud and division if the clinton’s gain power again. It is time to be lead with hope and a positive vision of what can be. Experience means absolutely nothing. We have entered a new era. Obama is the one!
Obama was highly impressing me, he is indeed a great speaker and knows how to work a crowd.
After hearing several of his speeches, I’m beginning to wonder if he is running for president for political “CHANGE”, or is he running for president for civil rights?
All the speeches i have heard have a lot of racial, and “MLK” over tones witch i have no problem with.
The problem i have is with the frequency in which he uses it, Kerry even frequently referenced “MLK” quotes.
He needs to make current political issues the focus of his campaign, and drop the race card, makes me truly wonder and second guess what type of “CHANGE” he is for.
Dr Florenco,
I totally agree. If it wouldn’t do anything else,it would stop Romneyfrom trying to take over as Commentator at times
NO CARL – It’s Out of Carolina and on to
Michigan — 30 delegates (AFTER penalty for going early) — Jan 14th
Nevada — 34 delegates (NO Penalty) — Jan 19th
S. Carolina — 23 delegates (AFTER penalty) –Jan 19th
Remember
Iowa — 40 delegates — (NO penalty) — caucus
Wyoming — 14 delegates — (AFTER penalty) — caucus
N. H. — 6 delegates — (AFTER penalty) — primary
“Key” states are only “Key” because they and the Media make them “Key” states. I say – let all the small states go first, then the larger states. “Key states,” and the media hype that comes with them, have become far to influential in the era of 24 hour news channel coverage.
THE ADVERTISEMENTS THAT OBAMA HAS OUT ABOUT BILL AND MONICA ARE VERY HATEFUL AND HARMFUL TO ALOT OF PEOPLE. I KNOW HE IS TRYING TO HURT HILLARY BUT ALL IT IS DOING IS HURTING BILL AND HILLARYS DAUGHTER. HE REALLY MUST NOT BE THINKING ABOUT THE YOUNG GENERATION.
Thank you for supporting our troops with honor showing support for Republican Party by voting for McCain in God we trust. “Believe” do not waste another day of your life live well.
Honest Me:)
