Congrats FOX, you finally got the numbers right!

Comment by Betty Boop

Romney is the delegate leader. I hope his vision, planning, perseverence, and abiities continue to show to his advantage, and that he is elected as the next leader of a stronger, more prosperous, more reasonable nation. God bless Mitt!

Comment by Adam Brown

I think between now and Super Tuesday someone in the GOP race will do/say something stupid and that will help clear out the pack. Paul and Thompson have already lost.

Comment by Doug

So with this count… and I’m not sure why MSNBC and Fox are so different but Romney is actually ahead with the most Delegates. Why is it that these two averages are so different? But hey if Romney continues to take second in just about every state he competes in it really doesnt matter who is taking first as long as that person isn’t consitantly taking first, and with the way that this race seems to be going that way, an inconsistant first a consistant second.

howdy,
I am finding a renewed interest in politics this year. Also, wondering when and how you guys knew, apparently well ahead of NBC and ABC and maybe CNN, that the polls were so far off?
Could you give us the tick toc of how that info started to come in, who caught it first and how the decision was made to hold the call on NH primary night.
It was obvious that things were on a frantic pace, Colmes was on late, pushing Greta and Shep to Midnight and Mr. Hume was on so much longer. Who makes those programming calls, ( and by the looks of the numbers, you should have jumped to Shep and Greta, LOL, sorry Alan and Sean),and were you out and about when the news came, or there at hub? And as you roamed around that day, did you get any feel at all that the poll results were off? thanks, all this is so interesting, and I have become a true blue Fox fan over this election thing. Also, read a study that showed by comparing Hume’s first 1/2 hour to the other political shows of same that By far and away Fox was the most fair to ALL the candidates, so it begs the question, why was Ron Paul on Leno instead of sitting at that table where he belonged as his numbers are at least the same as Rudy’s, if not a bit stronger, thanks, Please answer this. I am dying to know, LOL

Romney is surely not out that’s a certainty. The thing is about him, is that he’s playing in EVERY SINGLE state. He’s not just playing in the states with one issue. He’s not Huckabee playing on bigotry and going after the Evangelical vote. He’s not McCain going after Independents and “Maverick” Republicans. No, Romney is playing to the entire United States of America’s electorate. The difference between Romney and the rest of the candidates is that he’s being Inclusive instead of being Exclusive, and despite his runner up status in Iowa and New Hampshire, I believe that his message of change, his message of being fiscally responsible, his message of proven Executive Leadership will continue to resonate with the majority of voters (as it already has…given he’s won the popular vote). Romney’s the Turnaround King, and a fighter. He will not give up, nor should he give up…he’s the best candidate out there to achieve the change this country needs.

Comment by Jim Hewitt

Amazing how the MSM dogs Governor Romney at every turn and yet who is leading the Delegate Count by a considerable margin? Who also has the most popular votes cast for Republican Candidates to date? This clearly shows why you cannot always trust the Polls (especially the Exit ones)! Governor Romney has a clear vision and the extensive business and economical experience to lead our Economy onto even greater heights. His good judgement and strong character are exactly what this Country needs! I am thankful that he is running and he has all my support, money and prayers!!!

Comment by Blake

Romney is winning! That is probably why Huckabee and Mccain are tag teaming against Romney.

Comment by James Fitzpatrick, Detroit

Mitt Romney leads in overall delagates – he has the most money – and most in the GOP believe he is the total package for a nomination…

SO WHY IS IT SO OBVIOUS THAT “CAMPAIGN CARL” IS AGAINST HIM?

You were negative to him thru out your “home state” of New Hampshire – and virtually every time I see you doing a report on him.

Is it something PERSONAL, Carl?

Comment by Ana Ward in Alabama

Please, just print the true totals of the delegates for each candidate, which are the delegates that each candidate has already earned after each state. Please do not give us averages from other states where an election has not happen yet . Please wait until each state has had it’s primary election and then do the counting. I think the media is all too eager and ready to put out numbers because they want to be the first in reporting. Please media have some class in reporting. A Romney supporter!

Comment by Chuck in MS

Its nice to see positve news on Romney in your Blog for once Carl. Maybee folks pointing out the Fox Anti-Romney bias is starting to get through. As the Blog clearly shows Mitt has an @33% lead in delegates. If Fox would put this on national TV and give it the positive spin they do for other canidates it could make a difference in Mitt’s campaign. I’m not asking for anythign special just equal national positive attention. The only thing Fox has been saying lately is how doomed Romney is. This has the effect of making the undecided voters jump to whoever Fox “Experts” think is going to win or whoever they speak positively about. If Romeny is “DOOMED” for being in first place in delegates and actual votes then the other canidates should be getting skewered by Fox and they just aren’t.

Also if the polls hold true above after Florida Romeny will be in first in delgates with either Guilani or Huckabee in second. Hmm not the way its getting painted in the media though.

Comment by Kyle

Given that Huckabee’s recent serge in the polls has so far been short-lived, I feel that his bubble may burst. I do not see him becoming the front runner. I still think two moderates and one conservative will be in the top tier. Rudy lost big time in these last couple weeks, but I believe that once he wins a state his numbers will return back to a competitive level. Although, I believe that he will have more difficulty than he would have if he at least tried to campaign in N.H. and Iowa. I always knew he would have difficulty running in a republican primary, but thought he had a good chance because of his stance on defense. He is also well known political figure who speaks his mind and isn’t affraid to loose the election by telling the truth about himself instead of reinventing his campaign. This election has been all about reinvention and how well candidates do at convincing the American people that all this time they were someone else. Hillary has been the most successful, although she has been re-working her image since she ran for N.Y. senate. I remember the pundits talking about how that launched her bid for the white house. Many thought she would run in 2004, but she was scared of being defeated by George Bush. Like him or not, dems couldn’t run a successful campaign against him. Them ‘good ole boys’ are a dying breed, but it would be nice if we could bring them back. They demonstrate character that could only come from a modest lifestyle.

Go Mitt! I know FOX and the MSM are trying to shut you down, but REAL conservatives in this country know you are the only one who can bring it home for us.

Carl:
You are doing an awesome job. Nobody but nobody provides insight like you do. Michael Barone is pretty good, but a little esoteric in his delivery ( hey, I’m no genius, I need things broken down into black and white, which you just provided).
Thank you.

I just submitted my primary vote in East Lansing-

Last time McCain- our household sent three votes in for Mitt Romney

Go Mitt!

Comment by annette

Wow Carl! What gives? Is the great Carl finally turning “fair and balanced”? It must have hurt when you had to put up #’s showing Romney was ahead of the religious bigot Huckabee…

Comment by Suzanne Dale

I never write a comment and I am a big Fox News fan , but I agree that everyone on Fox seems to have something against Mitt Romney. Please give him a chance or we will end up with a Huckaby or McCain, either of which i would vote for because I can not stand the next 8 years with a Democrat,ug. I do not think they could beat Hillary or Obama. Romney can. He will pull in the baby boomer vote (me) , moderates, senior citizens, conservative young people and most Christians, which i am also! I have to hold my nose and vote for McCain, who co-authored McCain/ Fiengold and supported the immigration bill and voted against Bush’s tax cuts! He also did not ralley behaind Bush when Bush needed support during the worst days of Iraq. He joined in the browbeating , along with the Demos. Suzanne Dale

Thompson will win the debate tonight going away.

Thompson will win S.C. in a squeaker over McCain with Huck a distant third.

Thompson will clean Southern house on super-Tuesday.

Thompson may then make common cause with the silver medalist.

Thompson will win the nomination.

If any wisdom and humility remains in America Thompson will then win the Presidency.

Comment by Leo

Weird as it may sound, Gov. Romney may be on to something. Run the numbers on delegates and you might find it possible to win the nomination by placing a strong second in all the states that proportion delegates as long as no one else consistently wins first. With three down and forty-seven to go, he has the lead. His “strategy” could run into problems in states like NY where it is winner-take-all. There he runs up against the Mayor’s strategy of running only in the Big States.

Go brokered Convention, greatest reality TV show of the summer.

I too would like the answer to James Fitzpatricks question above. Why is Carl Cameron so obviously biased against Mitt Romney? Give It a break Carl, Just stick to reporting the facts and the numbers and leave your personal slant out of it please! I am an avid Mitt Romney supporter, and based on the numbers so are alot of other people. You are alienating all of us. I hope this does not continue through out the election process. I have relied on Fox news for alot of my campaign information but am afraid that is going to have to change if this continues.
In reading through the comments on several blog spots, my spirits are lifted to see that there are people out there that do see through all the bias. Romney is the real deal! Give him a fair shake in your reporting by pointing out that he does lead the other candidates in number of delegates and popular vote. Mitt Romney is the only candidate to have visited the small, insignificant state of Idaho (three time so far) we do notice and appreciate the acknowledgement just as Wyoming obviously did. I would like to give a call out to all Mitt Romney supporters to not lose heart in spite of all the MSM bias and negative press, fox included. Mitt is the liberals greatest threat and they do fear him! Go Mitt!

Comment by Janna Theriault

Does not seem like FOx CARES to much about Mitt but if FOX cared about what we want they would pay close attention to him. This guy is who we want.

Go Mitt

Comment by Tom

I am pulling for Rudy he has a lot of support in states like NY, NJ, Florida etc. Besides I think he is the only candidate that can beat Clinton or Obama

McCain – is like listening to a corpse and looks like he has one foot in the grave.
Huckster – Can you really vote for somebody with the name of Huckabee :~)
Romney – A republican version of bill clinton
thompson – Finally woke up out of his slumber in tonights debate, but its a little too late.
Paul – Is just a space cadet and has no place in these debates.

Rudy=Strong physical conservative Tough on crime, great leadership skills and ready to fight the war on terror. (Plus he can get those Blue states the republicans allway lose) He has my vote!

Comment by Janise E. Wooten

I agree with so many of these comments about Mitt! I have long felt the same way–that even FOX news has a bias against Mitt. I still don’t understand it because he has the best chance, by far, to win against a democrat in the general election–in my opinion. This is the first I have seen that Mitt has more delegates so far. Why is this not being reported widely? I sure hope Fox news and other News channels will report more accurately. These omissions are so frustrating! Mitt Romney is by far the most intelligent, articulate and capable of all the candidates. GO MITT–our next president!!!

Comment by Bits

What is behind Carl’s dislike of Romney? That is the real story that needs to be told.

Comment by danny allred

i too have felt the hard bias against mitt romney. completely unfair as they talk a big storm about mccain and huckabee. after the debate hannity and combs didnt even bother to interview him, even though most saw him as the clear winner of the debate. Conquer or die trying mitt! from seattle washington.

Comment by David L. Bohmfalk

I’m wondering why the most conservative candidate, Duncan Hunter, is ominously absent anywhere in the conservative AND liberal media. Every poll shows every candidate, BUT Hunter. The same is true of every debate since the first couple. I haven’t heard anything about him dropping out of the race, so I’m assuming that he’s still in it. Could the liberals be right? Could it just be that Fox isn’t “fair and balanced” after all? And before anyone can holler that I’m liberal, I have a portfolio of credentials (such as Life NRA member) that would make Rush Limbaugh blush.

Comment by Donnie

Carl, your glee for McCain surging in New Hampshire and over reporting of your so called Romney’s use of negative adds and campaigning really started to set me back and forced me to take a look at other news networks for my source of political reporting (as you know there wasn’t much of a choice). All I could think is that this guy is a McCain supporter. I look to FOX for something different. Man what a disappointment.

So Carl, just wondering how you’re going to characterize Fred Thompson in the South Carolina debate for the next two weeks? Are you going to beat the, he’s gone “Negative” Campaign Drum like you did against Romney for the way Thompson simply stated his characterization of the Huckster’s record? Someone has to vet these candidates and if not for their opponents then who? MSN, CNN? I think not.

Readers, take a look at Fox and the other networks tomorrow and for the rest of the week, I bet Thompson will not be stamped with the same label that Romney had for pointing out the differences he had with the other candidates. Nor do I believe he should. Oh, it might be mentioned once or twice but he won’t be lambasted with it and have to wear the scarlet letter “N” for going “negative”. They will say he finally woke up or got tough or something like that.

Why have I not heard more on Fox regarding the Huckster’s ethics violations and miss use of funds while Governor of the great sate of Bill Clinton. I only heard on H&C that these things existed but no one ever got into specifics. I finally found an article on Real Clear Politics.com and find them rather troubling. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2007/12/mike_huckabee_little_rock_ethi.html

I know Carl, next time you sit on the debate panel why don’t you ask him about these violations and not let him correct you this time by factually screwing up your question. Giuliani has been asked in the debates regarding his discrepancies while mayor of NY visiting his girlfriend at the cities expense. Fair is Fair.

Oooop’s, I went negative. I called him the Huckster.

Comment by Anne in St Louis

Mitt Romney is what America needs an Executive Leader, a Washington outsider. It is high time that Fox cuts him a break. One of my co-workers asked me today why Mitt isn’t doing so well, and I told her it is becuase the press wants us to believe he is a loser. I pointed out the fact that indeed he has the most delegates and not to give up on him because he is what we need to lead this great nation. So I ask every Mitt backer out there spread the word, do what it takes to get him to our nation’s capital.

Go Mitt…..

Comment by Aritha

WOW !! just reading the previuos messages I am Stunned….Everyone in my house just say I am complaining about FOX slamming Mitt. I seen this happening and it makes me mad. I swear I goto Mitt website everyday and beg Mitt to keep his campaign going. I am in KY and our primary isn’t until May and I swear I can’t hold my nose that long to vote for any of the other Republicans. I watched the debates 2 times in a row last night just to make sure I heard right….John McCain during the debate said he would make all illegals return to the back of the line. FOX gave him a pass and let him rattle on about securing the border…sad part is the question was AFTER the border is secure what will you do about the illegals in the USA..He rattled on about securing the border with no meat to what exactly he would do to regain our right to pick and choose who we allow here. I was stunned as I watched the post debate interviews John McCain then stated that after securing the border he would start looking at a Visa program for the agriculture area…..Do we need 12 million farm workers ? Sounds like John McCain is still working on his Amnesty plan…shame on Shawn Hannity for not catching that….The news have picked their “darlings” and stopped being reporters and just started being campaign advisors….WAKE UP Carl and start being unbiased again.

Comment by Eric

My wife and I just voted for Mitt Romney in Michigan. It’s nice to see that he is already in the lead with the delegates. Interestingly, he would have been in the lead even if he had not won in Wyoming.

Comment by annette

My husband and I got a kick out of Thompson laying into Huckabee in the debate, its about time others joined in!

I agree with the other poster that Thompson will not be all over the news for it, Foxnews just has this hatred for Mitt Romney. My only conclusion is that these individuals working for Fox are evangelicals who can’t stand Mormons.

I used to work for Bain and Co. in Century City, CA in 1995 and it was a successful company who was very good to its employees. I was flown to the San Francisco office, went to Vegas and San Diego for the weekend with all the employees for training. Only until last year did I find out that Mitt Romney was part of that Company (Bain Capital), now I know why it was so successful!

I should have never taken the other job offer…

Comment by Marie

You all are so right about Mitt Romney….he is as close to a total package that we have running from either party. He knows what he is talking about and is not afraid to step out and work ……I wish everyone in the news media would stop calling his campaign a done deal…..he is in it to the end, and hopefully at the end, he will be the nominee. Hillary, Obama, Huckabee,
McCain, have less delegates, have lost as many caucuses/primaries as Romney has, but yet, no one is calling their campaigns dead. The Democrats, especially Hillary, are scary……people better really look and listen at what is going on…..We need a strong leader with strong convictions, strong moral character, and the guts and brains to lead. We also need someone who is well-rounded and not just strong on one issue….we also need someone that we can respect and trust…..Romney seems to be as close to that has we have……he’s proven, he’s a Washington outsider who actually has governed and has strong business acumen. I feel he could put
together a strong cabinet, and be strong on the world stage. I also feel like he could come up with a strategy that would force the members of Congress
to actually work together for the country, instead of for themselves and their parties…If we can get a strong President, then lets focus on cleaning out the Congress….it’s long overdue…..but we the people, have the power to do
it…..

Comment by Tom

I am surprised at Fox allowing a question of religion only to Huckabee. I am not for Huckabee but I though that was below the belt. I might change my view and be for Huckabee after that one. Thompson is my man and he did well.

The news is to blame for only a few getting their chance to air their views. The debate last night was great because it gave everyone a chance instead of hand picking the favorites of the media for their views. Where is our freedom in America? Only the people the media want are given a chance.

I am tired of your arrogent attitude of thinking you know what the people of America want. You do not know anymore then anyone else who we are going to elect.

Comment by Rich

As FOX and others seek to educate voters on the nomination and election process, why haven’t they explained how the delegates are won and what their true role is? I’m shocked to learn Romney is actually winning at the moment among the “voters” (i.e., delegates) who actually select the nominee. As an avid news junkie, I should not be shocked; it should already be common knowledge if the news organizations were doing their job, Fox included.

My wife and I were also disappointed in the overtly negative reporting by Carl Cameron on anything Romney.

I’m still afraid Giulianni may be the only REPUBLICAN candidate who can beat Hillary (take her down, Obama), but I’d much rather see Romney and Thompson team up on the same ticket. I could never vote for McCain or Huckabee, ever.

Thin Blue Line

Comment by Bryson

This is why I am so sick of people saying Romney is out. He has won one state and has bee a close second in two others. He already has more delegates than the others and he has way more money. Why on earth would he back out? I predict he will win Michigan and do well in SC and Florida. Then on Super Tuesday when he still has the most delegates people will realize that he is the man. I am also sick and tired of people saying he uses hate ads. He merely compares the other’s records with is own. That is what you are supposed to do. They are the ones who continue making personal jabs during debates and interviews. I agree that many on the Fox staff have their favorites which is annoying. They should stay out of it and ask hard questions and not accept cheesy answers from Huckabee and McCain. If we are smart Romney will be our next president. I just dont have much faith in our voter’s level of inteligence these days, just look at our great congress, who McCain, Hillary and Obama are part of.

Comment by Cephas

These folks are right. What’s up with Carl obvious distane for Mitt? He isn’t the only one either. Shawn isn’t much better. They both obviously LOVE Huckabee and McCain. Its real odd becuase, despite the new rumors about Michigan, we already know that the DEMS would prefer to run against Huckabee, and they’er not afraid of McCain – he’s too close to them already. But they are afraid of Mitt for lots of reasons. None of the Dem line-up can stand up against Romney’s family values (despite his faith) and he’s already put China on notice, so you know he makes the Clintons nervous.

BTW – Don’t discount the role China will play in our election this year.

Comment by John P

Hard to believe Fox news would be getting complains about Romney. I was just thinking this morning how tired I was seeing Mitt’s face on the morning show. I sure wish Rudy would get just part of that coverage. Oh well! After Feb. 5 they’ll be scrambling for his appearance.

Comment by annette

I find it kinda interesting that “Real Clear Politics” hasn’t updated their general polls since 1/6. Up until the Iowa Caucuses, they were updating daily. I think they want to hype up Huckabees score. I really think McCain has been gaining and they don’t want to show it. FYI, I’m not a McCain supporter…

I’m just being “fair and balanced”, unlike Foxnews.

Comment by Antonio

I’m not sure why the media does not want Romney to be President, and has shown so much bias against him. He is the candidate we need for the Republican party and he has the most delegates so far. If we do not elect him we will see the Bloomberg enter the equation and we will have another Clinton being elected president with less than 35% of the national vote. Fox I taught you did not have biases but now I’m starting to question you as much as I have always questions CBS, NBC and ABC.

Comment by TheRepub

So Ron Paul has more delegates than Rudy and only one less than Thompson, and you ask Ron Paul why HE is in this race?

Are you kidding me?

Why are you a reporter?

Mitt Romney will definitely win in Michigan, Utah, and Nevada. He should win the Republican nomination because he deserves it. He is true to his convictions, a family role model, a successful businessman who could use his talents to make this country successful economically. He has the passion to help this country and has the talents to do it all. Mitt Romeny for President!!!

This Idiot will say Anything to get elected, then he will stand with Kennedy/ Reid and the rest of the Democratic bunch to cut Americans Throats.
HE RUNS ON HIS WAR / MILITARY RECORD, YET HE NEVER SUPPORTS THE MILITARY MEMBERS OR VETERANS BUT HE SUPPORTS EVERY BILL FOR ILLEGALS AND EVEN VOTES TO HIDE BENEFITS FOR ILLEGALS IN OTHER BILLS

Comment by Stephanie McClain

I have just read all of the above comments and I am very disturbed by what I have read. First of all, I agree with only one of the above comments, that ROMNEY will change himself into whatever he thinks might be appealing at the time.. and that is FLAT FRIGHTENING to any true conservative! Before you Romney fans start bashing everyone else ( just like your favorite candidate is doing) you might want to really check all of your facts! I am a conservative, I am a Christian, and I am NOT voting for ROMNEY. All viewers of FOX want their candidate to always get positive coverage and never get any negative coverage… but this is a political race for the highest office in this country… so grow up… and understand that the FOX reporters must cover the positives and negatives of each candidate… that is why they say they are fair and balanced. I have a dog in this race, and he has gotten both positive and negative coverage from FOX but I am not whining about it because I know that if enough people in this country have sense and wisdom then we will get the good president that we deserve… if we don’t, then Heaven help us because the issues we face are crucial.

Comment by Abby

I am voting for Mitt Romney because he is the only one who deserves to be the President of this country. The other candidates are MUCH MORE FRIGHTENING – open borders, amnesty, opposed tax cuts, and the list goes on…. There are only 2 Republican canidates that are more conservative – Thompson and Romney. The rest are more Liberal in my opinion. My family is voting for Mitt Romney. We are Christian conservatives and are very strong supporters!

Comment by Dan

If you are a Conservative and believe in Conservative Values Romney is the only real choice. The liberal media is trying to redefine the Republican Party. Huckabee should be running as a democrat…he hasn’t been honest with people at all, Gulianni is for Abortion, McCain has always been a better friend to Democrats than Republicans, Thompson and Paul stand no chance….this is it…so, he’s a Mormon and a Millionaire…he’s a decent family man with a better record and the most conservative candidate with a chance to win.

I hope those supporting Rudy will not waste their votes and come on over to the Ron Paul side now. Hey, and while you are at it just bring the Thompson people with you! Ha Haaaaaaaaaaaa

See you at the convention!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Romney is the clear choice.
