Your journalistic integrity is compromised. You showed your true colors last night at the SC debate. Nice softballs to your candidate Huckabee. Even when he embarrassed you and your face got red when he said that your facts weren’t accurate you show up this morning with continued allegience to Huckabee. You must have bought into the ideas that church and state are not separate because the real scandal of Michigan is that the evangelical community is being compromised by Huckabee’s campaign. The separation of church and state is CRITICAL to the fundamental freedoms of this country. I am a devout Christian and it pains me to see fellow evangelicals following blindly behind short-sided ministers bullied into voting for Huckabee. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. If he is elected President (which he won’t be because the Dems will tear him apart) he would do more to denegrate the good name of Christian than any president we have had in recent history because he is all show and no substance. His record is clear. I am tired of him playing the holier-than-thou act. We need a true leader who doesn’t hide behind cloaking rhetoric. You think you are helping America by your subtle efforts to get him elected (or to help him get the republican nomination so that he will get defeated by the dems) but it will backfire on all of us. And you will share a lot the blame.

We have come to expect stunts like this fro mthe Democrats.

The bigger issue is the dirty politics of the democratic party. What exactly is it about the compressed schedule that bothers Dean? Pure and simple, if Hillary had gotten a big bounce out of Iowa, he would have been less concerned.

So what is going on here is kind of a FLIM FLAM/Smoke & Mirrors. Lets create a BOGUS CONSPERACY. By doing this, They expect that MI independents (liberals, and CLOSET REPUBLICANS) that were thinking of voting for McCain will NOW MAKE SURE THEY GET OUT TO VOTE NOW FOR McCAIN. I am Christian too and I know our country was founded on Christian traditions, but the separation of church and state are critical to freedom. If we elect a President because we think he’d make a great pastor it doesn’t really matter because he will not be acting as pastor – he will be busy dealing with economy, foreign policy, etc. It will not be his place to comment on what religion we should be a part of. We need someone who is an expert on running a country. This country will not be run by one religion alone, we must allow everyone the right to practice their own religion. And that means that if a Jewish presidential candidate (or heaven-forbid, a Mormon) has the skills to run the country, we elect him/her!

You seem to be either very ignorant of historical basis of the constitution, which quite frankly Mom doesn’t need her statements backed up from a Christian perspective, because her concerns are rooted in historical fact.

Yes, the founders were very deliberate in their attempt to separate church and state for the very specific reason of religious oppression. This wasn’t about Christians being persecuted by Muslims. This was about Christians being persecuted BY OTHER CHRISTIANS.

The founders were aware of the centuries of wars and death caused by the differences between Catholics and Protestants, and saw first hand what happens in governments where the separation doesn’t exist. The religion adopted by the government will persecute others, whether Christian or not, because of their conviction that their interpretation of the bible to be correct and that all others were blasphemous and heretical. And this is only one of the many problems with theocracies.

So, there is very much a long and brutal history that proves the inherent problems of theocratic governments. The Huckster doesn’t seem to recognize the importance of why the separation of church and state was important to the founders, and his history of demonizing the Mormon religion shows how much tolerance he has for those that practice a different religion. Fortunately, I believe that the majority of Americans recognize the importance of the separation of C&S, and I agree with Mom that Huckabee would go down in flames were he to win the nomination.

Your self serving biblical quotation “If you’re ashamed of me before man I’ll be ashamed of you before the Father” is nothing but irrelevant since Mom has not demonstrated at all that she’s ‘ashamed’ of Christ or Christianity. And regarding your proclamation that Jesus said the “Government will rest on His shoulders” also makes me scratch my head and wonder why you insist on bringing up points that do nothing to enhance your PoV. So what? What does Jesus saying that have anything to do with Huckabee? All the candidates (with the exception to some of Mitt) are Christian, so what exactly is your point?

At first I thought this was just another misguided attempt by some dysfunctional Democrat to manipulate the outcome but I am beginning to think there may be Romney money and promises being peddled to get people to cross the isle and vote. To me, I take this as either Romney trying to buy his way to a win or its an indicator they (Democrats) absolutely fear a McCain or Huckabee being chosen as the Republican nominee. I have much more confidence in the American public but very suspicious of ‘ole boy politics including influence peddling. I would love to know what “private conversations” this guy has had and to find out his motives.

Either way, I wish people would be honest and vote for the candidate of their choice and not because someone told them to. I’ve told my daughters that I would rather they not vote unless they study each candidate and know what they are voting for rather than just vote according to whom their friends vote for or whom their mother or I vote for.

After listening to the debates and post debate focus groups, and seeing how the media can attempt to alter viewer opinion just by the way they shape questions, to whom they direct the questions, and attempts to align post commentary pundits with aligned rhetoric; they now understand how the media and influence peddlers can play dirty tricks. They can see first-hand why voting is not just a right it’s a responsibility, one that shouldn’t be taken for granted and something that requires the utmost integrity throughout the election process.

This ploy by The Daily Kos should tell Republicans something. It should tell them (including hopefully the idiots who can stop jumping & down like circus monkeys screaming “AMNESTY!!!” long enough to hear it) that the one candidate the lefties fear the most in the general election is John McCain. They see that he is now leading in national polls of Republican voters and they know full well what a formidable opponent he would be for either Hillary or Obama.

The Dems worst nightmare is that McCain wins in both Michgian and South Carolina and then uses that momentum to lock down the Republican nomination on Super Tuesday. So, if they can conspire to help keep Mitt Romney in the game by winning in Michigan, it serves the dual purpose of blunting McCain’s momentum and prolonging the nomination fight.

Wise up, Republicans. McCain is the only guy you have who has a chance at winning in November. It’s time to line up behind him.

Obama has had plenty of opportunities, during this race, AND during the past 20 years, to do what he did on April 29, but Rev. Wright had never put Obama down before. That made him willing to turn against the pastor, who — a few weeks ago Obama said that he could never turn from. Obama will say anything to get what he wants.

Because he has now disrespected Obama, Obama is now willing to confront Wright’s horrible remarks — one by one. HE SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS AT LEAST A YEAR AGO! TOO LITTLE — TOO LATE.
