Mitt 1st in Nev!! 3rd in SC??
by Carl Cameron
With a win in Nevada under his belt Mitt Romney now hopes to eliminate Fred Thompson.
Thompson needs to make third and though purely anecdotal, my SC precinct sources are seeing more Mittites than Fredheads…4th could be devastating for Thompson. Third would be a victory for Romney.

If Fred drops out, and endorses McCain, I will feel as if Fred double-crossed me. Fred is a bona fide conservative; McCain is not. Don’t get me wrong. I will support anyone that gets the republican nomination, but I do have my favorites.
Carl,
It is about time you gave Romney some fair and balance time on Fox TV. You and several reporters and seem to dismiss Romney when you compare cadidates and you give Huckabee and McCain a lot more positive views and good words than you do Romney.
PLEASE CHECK THAT OUT AND CHANGE IT. THANKS.
Fred has been a disappointment. Rudy will make a comeback by playing late. This is fun to watch mostly because the MSM has been wrong at every turn!!
I am sick of Carl Cameron and his clear lopsided unfair and imbalanced
>”reporting.” Mr. “the fact of the matter is” should really stick to the
>FACTS and not to his opinion, especially when his opinion is preceded by
>”THE FACT OF THE MATTER”.
> Also, yes Romney was the only major candidate to campaign heavily in the
> state, BUT look at the results, over 50% of the vote. THAT GOES BEYOND
> just “he was the only one campaigning.”
> McCain could be considered a “favorite son” being from a neighboring
> state. That was the rap against Mitt in NH, when he came in a very
> competitive second.
> Report FACTS, not your opinions. YOU REPORT, LET THE VIEWERS DECIDE. You
> are forgetting your mantra!!!
CONGRATULATIONS MITT!
Now move on for a BIG FLORIDA SURPRISE!!! FIRST or very STRONG Second!!!
Feb 1 Maine FIRST!!!!
Hows that for a BUMP to Super Tuesday.
Also, most national polls are 2-3 weeks old. Constantly saying McCain way out front
NOT ANY MORE!!! Rassmusen latest Poll out last night has TIED FOR FIRST!!!
GOODBYE McCAIN!!!
Hey Cameron,
Fox keeps hitting on Romney by saying he won because of the “Mormon” vote. How about mentioning that South Carolina has 2 Baptist canidates leading that will be helped by the “Baptist” vote. NO we call them “evangelical” or “conservative christians”. McCain/Huckabee will be leading because of the “Baptists”. Just wanted to keep it “fair and balanced”
I may be voting CNN!
Kara
Mitt was right to leave SC; it is an exceptionally sad commentary when so-called “Christian conservatives” display, as a group, such bigotry and bias against a candidate whose own faith shares 99% of the very beliefs and values they claim to espouse.
Mitt’s albatros is his Mormon faith; yet he has born it well and laregly overcome with quite grace the bigotry afforded him on account of his religious beliefs. Voters are discovering, however, that the albatros’ of the other Republican candidates are more difficult to get past. For all his bluster and “straight talk,” McCain’s own voting past condems him … he is, at best, a moderate Republican willing to hamstring his own party with the likes of McCain-Feingold, and to ignore the law of the land and national security with what amounts to amnesty for illegal aliens. Huckabee talks a good “born again” line, but his actions speak louder than his professed Christian faith. Although he tries to hide it, he’s willing to hit below the belt and use rumors and inuendos, ala Clinton campaign tactics, to court voters. Again, his record just doesn’t square wioth his rhetoric. Thompson doesn’t have the stomach or the team to effectively compete for the office. Paul has obvious fatal flaws.
Voters are slowly but increasingly (and at times, even begrudgingly for many evangelicals) warming up to Mitt because the one thing they don’t like about him (if they are honest enough to admit it) - his religion - is in the end a wrinkle that truly doesn’t matter. He’s got everything else the vast majority of voters say they want in a candidate: proven capability and potential, experience turning around other people’s mistakes, no skeletons in either his business life or personal life to condemn him, an obvious committment to family, faith and American traditional values, and, yes, even good looks to boot.
Mitt Romney may very well be the most unobvious hero of the Republican party.
Hmmm … is that a word - “unobvious?”
Exactly what I reported a couple days ago:
http://morgan-musings.blogspot.com/2008/01/romneys-strategy-nv-vs-sc.html
I cast my vote earlier today for Fred. Now I’m hearing he will endorse Senator Shamnesty if he finishes fourth tonight. If that turns out to be true I will regret my vote.No true conservative could ever support McCain(or his “hyphenated pals”-Feigold,Kennedy,Edwards),so I would have apparently voted for a fraud.
Does Mitt win all 34 of the delegates in Nevada?
Here are three reasons that focuses on PRINCIPLES not PERSONALITIES, of why the Republican party will likely suffer in the General Election if Mitt Romney is the nominee due to the fact that a few legitimate issues have been placed out of bounds during the Republican primaries of how Mormonism can affect a president Romney and, indeed, America in general. The Republican party is quite foolish to leave it to the opposition party to bring out these issues rather than in the primaries.
(1) Romney’s Mormon temple oath could very well contradict the Presidential Oath should he be elected. The Mormon temple oath could affect America in many ways. For example, just like Islam, Mormonism is determined to spread its influence in every country. China is one of the countries where Mormonism is not allowed to operate. The Mormon temple oath unequivocally binds the oath taker to always be the servant of Mormonism ABOVE ALL OTHER INTERESTS! This oath is most strictly devised and cannot be ignored, no matter what he says, if he is to remain true to Mormonism as he has said he will do. This is not speculation or an assumption; it is a fact! What will a president Romney do if China makes a secret offer in favor of Mormonism in return for an advantage that a president Romney can influnence on China’s behalf? China most assuredly is not above such deals. Romney will then have to choose which Oath he honors. America is not electing a “pastor-in-chief” but it should be electing a person open and honest and free of conflicts of interest. America deserves an answer now.
(2) Theologically, Mormonism believes its “prophet” is the only mouthpiece of God on earth and that “whether by [God’s] voice or by the voice of his servants [the Mormon “prophet”] IT IS THE SAME.” This is in accordance with Mormon scripture and any Mormon who says otherwise is dishonest. If the Mormon prophet claims he receives instructions from God pertaining to a Romney presidency, how will Mr. Romney turn his back on God by ignoring the Mormon “prophet”? The Mormon “prophet” may claim a revelation impacting the scenario briefly outlined above.
(3) Mormonism still claims that its racist policies affecting the black race was commanded by God. Under immense pressure after resisting it for decades Mormonism discontinued its openly racist policies in 1978. However, it still believes God has looked upon the black race less favorably than other races. Mormonism came to this belief even though the Bible says God is no respecter of persons. That Mormonism still believes its racist policies was the will of God is offensive and many people will find it offensive as it becomes known that Mormonism still clings to this belief.
There is another point that should not be overlooked that is especially important to the Republican party. How many voters will be turned off when it is fully made known that Mormonism believes all other religions are false and parts of the Church of the Devil. This has always been the theology of Mormonism.
Mitt Romney is becoming more and more known as a flip-flopper. This is consistent with Mormonism in that the God of Mormonism has flip-flopped again and again: He flip-flopped on the sanctity of marriage, the treatment of the black race of people, its extreme beliefs that the Mormon Zion would be established in the state of Missouri, the declaration that a system be practiced without exception that some have characterized as a communistic system as described in Mormon scriptures known as its Doctrine and Covenants, that Jospeh Smith must be accepted by all in order to enter God’s Kingdom, that the United States would be thrown down with not so much as a “potsherd” left, among other strange beliefs. So, if God can flip-flop, why can’t anyone flip-flop if to do so is advantageous to his motives? It is a dis-service to the American people for such a person with such beliefs not to be asked questions. It is not a religious test to ask questions and to let the people make up their own minds about a person’s qualifications for the presidency.
Why is Nevada’s importance not being emphasized by the media? Same with Wyoming and Michigan…. Is this deliberate? We are beginning to sense that the media resents Romney.
u seem not to post ant comments that are not pro romney, why? where is ther fair and balanced network?
why are u not reporting the fact that mitt won nev cos he is mormon and they have a large mormon population there.
if he comes in 3rd or forth in the sounth it shows u,he cant win the general election for the party
I think the big news hear is that Ron Paul, banned from one Fox News Poll, and constantly ridiculed by the media, has close to the same number of votes that Hillary or Barack Obama has in Nevada.
If you love liberty, you won’t laugh at Ron Paul.
Why no emphasis by the media on the importance of Nevada? Same with Wyoming and Michigan… Is this deliberate? We are beginning to sense that the media resents Romney.
YOU REALLY WANT THE WORD ON THE STREET OUTSIDE OF THE MEDIA BUBBLE?
Huckabee is funny and cute, kinda like a puppy dog…but you can’t really take him seriously!
McCain is taken seriously, which is very scary for Republicans and will make us lose the Election.
McCain is getting way too much positive airtime, a free ride you might say (as is Obama.) No one is really questioning his voting record on issues relevant to the Republican Party and if Romney or other candidates bring up his true stand on the issues, everyone cries “dirty politics.”
I am disappointed with the FOX coverage of the Republican race, I am sick of the McCain hype.
No one I know in Florida would vote for McCain. He gets all the interviews, he gets the benefit of the doubt, and in the end he just cannot win the Election over Hillary or Obama. What a waste. Many Republicans would just as soon not vote on Election Day if McCain is the nominee as we know that a Hilary-Obama ticket would easily sweep McCain out the door.
Romney and Guiliani are obviously the only two capable of winning or changing Washington…(note that they are both Washington outsiders) and please give Thompson some credit will you? He’s the only true conservative. A good VP choice?
Go Mitt… Go Guiliani… Florida loves you BOTH!
A Conservative Florida Mom
PS I commend you Cameron on your hard work and your use of modern technology!!!
Awesome!

The Ron Paul presidential campaign has learned that thousands of Republican voters, including thousands of Ron Paul supporters, have received incorrect caucus location information from the Nevada State Republican Party.
Incorrect information about caucus locations has been given to voters throughout the state, specifically in Washoe and Clark, the two largest counties in the state.
Postcards sent to registered Republicans by the Nevada State GOP contained inaccurate caucus locations and the state GOP website caucus locator http://locator.nvgopcaucus.com was directing voters to inaccurate caucus locations until 6 pm Wednesday evening.
The Ron Paul campaign in Nevada has been inundated with telephone calls from voters confused about their caucus location because of the misinformation on the state GOP website.
Campaign officials first notified the Nevada state party of the problem on Monday by phone.
Early Thursday morning campaign officials met with state GOP party officers, including Zac Moyle, the Executive Director of the state GOP, to address these concerns.
However, until 6 pm on Wednesday, the state GOP website was still directing Nevada Republicans in 57 or more Clark County precincts to caucus locations in Washoe county.
Nor had the party posted any kind of warning on the website until that time.
Jennifer Terhune, Nevada Communications Coordinator for the Ron Paul campaign, explained that a postcard sent to her house by the state GOP directed her to an incorrect caucus location.
“The postcard said my caucus location was completely different from the information I had from the county. The situation is very confusing, and the state GOP has only recently- two days before the caucus- taken any action to correct this situation.”
Terhune went on to say that she had discussed the caucus location confusion with Heidi Smith, chairwoman for the Washoe County GOP.
“Heidi confirmed that the state GOP has sent out information about caucus locations that conflicts with information from the county GOP. We are concerned that this confusion will affect voters throughout the state.”
“We met with the state GOP on Monday,” said Jeff Greenspan, Ron Paul’s Southwest U. S. Regional Coordinator.
“They admitted there was a problem. They said it would be addressed, but it has only been addressed this evening when they posted a warning on their caucus locator website.”
He went on to say that Ron Paul officials had spoken with Zac Moyle, the State Republican Party Executive Director.
“We informed him of the problem, and he later apologized, but this website has been misdirecting voters up to two days before the caucus.”
“The Ron Paul campaign has received calls from hundreds of supporters who have asked why they are being directed to Reno and Hendersen for their caucus sites when they live in Las Vegas.”
“Perhaps the party ought to consider postponing the caucuses until they can ensure that correct caucus information is communicated to all Republican voters in the state.”
Screenshots of the Nevada GOP State website have been recorded that direct voters in North Las Vegas to go to locations in Washoe County for the caucus.
Screenshots of the warning posted by the Nevada state GOP, which was on the state GOP website as of 1 am on Thursday, January 17th, have been obtained by campaign.
According to information obtained by the campaign, over fifty-seven precincts in Las Vegas have been directed to locations in Washoe County to participate in the caucus.
The Ron Paul campaign is expressing concern about misinformation from the Nevada GOP via the state GOP website and postcards sent to voters.
The state GOP has addressed the inaccuracies on the website only two days before the caucus, despite being notified by the campaign on Monday the 14th, five days before the caucus.
There was some comment on Fox a few minutes ago that the Mormons had a huge effect on the outcome of NV - about 1/3 of those who voted for Romney. That means that even without the Mormon vote, he would have beaten McCain quite handily! So NV is a great win for Romney.
That’s right Carl, what ever you do, don’t mention Ron Paul, the only conservative running for President.
Go Mitt!
Ron Paul showed a #2 in Nevada R primary and you still pretend he doesn’t exist.
Now that Al Gore has a hit movie and Nobel prize, are you sick of people who spout inconvenient truths ?.
Clearly Ron Paul has a following for his message… but you suppress it.
“We report, you decide”, after we decide what to filter and report.
“Fair and balanced”, as we want to be.
Sham news.
After witnessing your utter comtempt and disdain that you convey regarding Mitt Romney during your segments on Fox News, this meager entry regarding Mitt’s victory in Nevada is about what I expected from you. The problem is I Expect More from you as one of the lead political reporters for Fox News. I expect bias from the other networks, but I look to Fox News to be Fair and Balanced. Either present from factual evidence that supports your contempt of Romney or keep things impartial so the people can determine during this YOU DECIDE 2008 presidential election year who is best suited to lead our country in the upcoming years. Thank you.
Uncontested or not, what happened to fair and balanced reporting. One line for a overwhelming, landslide victory in Nevada in which all other candidates were literally crushed. Your continaul bias against Romney is anything but fair and balanced.
Ron Paul came in 2nd! Why doesn’t someone interview Dr. Paul? Why is FOX news letting so many viewers down by
favoring the candidates that they “predict” to win and not reporting the results fairly? Can anyone explain this obvious “SPIN”???
Kelle Clark
And Ron Paul Got Second!!!!
Every time Mitt does well, it gets dismissed as who cares much about that state or thats not a very important win. The west seems to get screwed.
Mac should be running on the dem’s side and Huckaberry is too much of a bleeding heart although I like huck’s stance on the IRS.
Fred and Duncan are true conservatives but no hope for them.
Shane, you are correct.
GWASHINGTON1776,
They would rather tell you that Mitt won Nevada amoung mormons than MITT LEADS McCAIN AMOUNG REPUBLICAN VOTES NATIONWIDE.
Also, you are and have been for a long time very biased against Fred Thompson. For about 30 seconds he and Romney were tied for 3rdplace, and then Fred Thompson steadily gained growed and endedup in third place. Do you recognize that? No, instead you preach defeat. You are slanted and biased, and it is very obvious to me when I see your clips in the words and phrased you choose. I don’t see the “Fair and Balanced” in it, and you and the entire Fox Campaign team should be called to task for it. It is obvious to anyone that you all are trying to sway and influence this election.
Yemisi … Correction here. The mormon thing in NV was drilled add nausium, and it was not warranted. Only 9% of nevadans are mormons, and Romney would have won by a huge margine even if no mormons even voted in Nevada. At least Fox never said Romney won because of mormons as some ignorant idiots on other networks did.
All in all though Romney is treated by Fox like a baby treats a diaper. He is without a doubt the front runner in everything but some arbitrary favoritism of some states and some voters, and some deligates over others though as far as I know they all count the same. The way this stuff is covered in nonsensical in the extreme. If they ever compared deligates for deligates and or placement in each race in a quantitative non prejudicial way Romney is way out ahead of the pack.
AND Thompson is a good guy, maybe he didn’t run the best race, but he told the truth about Huckabee, and even held back on some ethics problems the Huckster has had in Arkansas that no one is talking about yet, but the democrats surely would in a general election. Huckabee would be easy meat for any democrat running (which is why he is such a liberal media favorite, they totally made him with possitive press attention he got for free) most of us have no idea about the whole story there, yet.
So, why is 3rd a victory for Romney and not for Thompson? Thompson is the only conservative and the only one for whom I will vote.
Fact Henry is a pin head! He knows nothing about mormons. This is anti mormon bigotry that has been spread around for almost two hundred years, people like henry make the mormon convert rate increase! so Keep it up! Fact the state of nevada is only 7-8 % mormon. Romney would have won even if there were no mormons in the state.
Gollaher, his releigion doesn’t matter to you maybe,to the Christian that honors God first and refuses to lower himself to a group that states that you will be Judged by Joseph Smith, and not Jesus Christ,What the Christian people say is very understandable,in fact it would be something the Christian would have to answer for, when his day to be judged came….but I assure you he wouldn’t be answering to Joseph Smith…..As a Bishop in that orgaization,he has to answer to their living prophet, and being president don’t put him above the living prophet….If you like Romney you vote for him,but you should also be aware of the facts…..you read words like Bigot and bigotry when in fact people are standing for what the Bible contains, not what has been added to it
Can anyone tell me who came in Second place in Iowa, New Hampshire, Wyoming, Michigan, South Carolina? I assure the elit media has shown that statistic. However who came in SECOND in Nevada? Why is this being ignored? Media, answer the question. No I am not a supporter of Ron Paul, I am a supporter of the U.S Constitution, which you are not!
http://abbevillecolos.wordpress.com/
What is SC anyhow in terms of voting? When was the last time they got it right? How is it that those voters were more important than Michigan or Nevada?
I can’t stand the hypocrisy on Fox and CNN!!
In states where non republicans can’t spoil the republian primary vote, McCain will drop like a rock. Those states coming up are such states. You can’t keep up a dead horse in a horse race by calling him the leader for too long Carl.
In states where the evangelical christian vote is not overwhelming (that’s all he’s really gotten to date) the Huckster will drop like a rock.
Thompson isn’t viable at this point.
Ron Paul is about as viable as any ankle biter could be, and if he ever came up in the poles his multitude of idiotic, inaccurate, and dishonest statements would bury him in a heart beat.
Giuliani is still well known nationally and has a lot of deep rooted support that goes deeper than the latest fad of the hour which most of the candidates have been depending on.
Romney is a serious candidate, he beats anyone head to head in debate when given a chance, he has shown himself to be very paletable to even liberal voters (as has Giuliani) and you can tell by the liberal media and democrats reaction that they do fear him the most. Probably even more than they fear Giuliani by the way they act. Romney runs very deep, and he has by far the most cash.
I am happy with these trends as I feel most of the US is, or will be when they start paying attention. I like Both Giuliani (who I favor because I think he is the best man to take on democrats and the liberal media’s ongoing campaign of disinformation which is hurting this country by planting lies and inaccurate paradigms, in the minds of our people). I also like Romney for his brilliant economic accumin and long record of brilliant accomplishment, and a way of making large entities work efficiently which is what would help us a great deal in this country and make life better for everyone. I dearly wish we could have both in office at one time, that would be absolutely beautiful, the best we have ever had in the office of president in this country.
