2008 SHAKEUP TIME!!!
GOP campaign shakeups:
Fred Thompson sources say the actor and former Tenn senator may withdraw from the race. There are no plans to attend Thursday’s Florida debate.
Staffers have been on partial pay since the NH primary. The Senators plans are very fluid. As of 8:45 this evening, there are no plans for any announcement about whether he will stay in the race or not. The team is wrestling with very few options. The Senator is in Nashville visiting his mother (in her 90’s) who has been ill.
From THE FIRST DAY Fox News broke the story last March of his candidacy, Thompson has always had a vice presidential bid in mind. Today a top aide even mentioned the idea on Brian and the Judge on Fox News Radio.
Mike Huckabee, has also kept vice presidential options open by NOT strongly criticizing Giuliani or McCain. Huckabee is retooling his campaign to cherrypick some Super Tuesday states on Feb 5th (notably Ga and Alabama).
Huck bet the ranch on SC and coming in second did little for his weak Fla organization and almost NO organization anywhere else. Fla and Feb 5th are dauntingly expensive. Sources say Huck has money, but nowhere near what he’d like for the BIG states ahead.
Rudy Guiliani says he will continue to discuss issue differences with his rivals but will not go negative. Hizzoner’s team went into Fla a month ago prepared to spend more than $8 million dollars to win. Rudy does not have a lot of money left and he’s cratering in the polls. He may need to rethink playing nice.
A Fla defeat could effectively send Rudy from the big leagues to the Veepstakes as well.
John McCain is tapped out to. His early wins have not exactly created a firehose of cash. But what he lacks in web donations he will will try to make up for with a big fundraiser this week in NYC…right in Rudy’s backyard…where McCain now leads the polls. None of McCain’s rivals want to take the first punch (lest they suffer a backlash and lose ground too) in a multi candidate field. If he emerges the unscathed frontrunner from Thursdays
Fla debate, he will be HARD to beat.
Mitt Romney leads the estimated delegate count after 6 contests with three wins, two seconds, and a fourth. He has spent considerable time and money in Fla and is competitive (in the top 3) in every poll (even leading some.). Romney has no plans for attack ads, at this point.
Florida could be tough for Mitt, he has support but it is not firmly committed. Importantly, in this race there are no delegates for “silver or bronze”…the sunshine state is winner take all.

I used to hold Fox News in high esteem, but quite frankly, some of the reporters, and yes Carl, I mean you, are biased in their reporting of the candidates’ activities. I’ll give you credit, Carl. You’re very good at injecting subtle subversive words in your posts. And from many of the recent posts, I am not alone in my thinking. I hope Fox News realizes that they are losing viewers because of a very few reporters whose own inclinations get in the way of their job.
I have to wonder how disappointed you will be when Sen. Thompson does NOT drop out. Why does the only true Conservative in the race scare the media?
Mitt is presidential
Mitt Romney is the only candidate from eiter party who has succeeded in business and in government.
He is Mr. Fix-it!
He comes into broken businesses and fixes them. He came into a scandal-plagued, financially bankrupt Olympics and fixed it and pulled Mass. out of a multi-billion dollar hole.
Mitt Romney will win–he is the only candidate who understands the world’s economy and how to make DC work — and create opportunity for jobs to stay in America and make us competitive.
I know Carl doesn’t like Mitt, but he will win.
Hey Carl:
I just wanted to tell you that you and your commorads in fox news are irresponsible in your reporting of Ron Paul and the 9/11 smear campaign. This was not a serious question you prposed in the debates and it was intentional to smear Mr. Paul ,as usual. Then your commorads continued to mis-report the news following the debate inferring that Ron Paul backed the 9/11 consiracy theory when he clearly stated he did not and never has stated it in his campaign. I am sure that all the other candidates can not account for or endorse all the beliefs of their supporters. It is truely another discusting act of smearing a fine up standing man. You are rotten scum.
Brenda
Please name your source of the information. Rudy G. placed lower than Fred Thompson in South Carolina why don’t you ask him to drop from the campaign?
I want a President that understands the importance of his family and caring for his family.
If you will go to http://www.draftfredthompson.com you will see that there has been a call to prayer tonight for 10 minutes at 10:00 PM with each person praying at !0:00 in their own time zone.
We are asking for Prayer for our nation first and those who will tarry a bit longer may pray for Fred and his family. Those who wish may also pray for other candidates. This is a call to stop the political attacks on all sides for just 10 minutes and take time out to say a prayer for the nation.
With Thompson out, Romney is clearly the conservative choice. Guliani has not been competitive. McCain is an egotistical RINO who has sold out not only the party (on tax cuts) but also the people of America (on amnesty). Huckabee is a smooth talking idiot who cannot even win among evangelicals anymore.
Romney is a man of unquestioned personal character, and is brilliant to boot. We need a fired-up winner like him to take on the problems of Washington.
Romney is up by five percent in FL according to the Rasmussen Poll released today. Maybe FL won’t be so tough for Mitt.
Carl he you go again against Mitt ….Guiliani is the one who has spent considerable time and Money in FL not Mitt. Mitt will spend the next ten days there just like every other candidate (minus Fred).
FL will not be tough for Mitt he is leading the latest Rasmussen poll by 5 points (Carl thsi does not constitute an “outside shot” like you said). Carl you do not understand how SC is different than Fl. In SC McCain got 70% of his votes from Dem and Independant voters. They cant vote for him in FL. Where do you propose he get the votes in FL Carl? MCCAIN DID NOT GET A REPUBLICAN VOTER BUMP FROM SC HEADING INTO FL. McCain has betrayed the Republican party by siding with Dems for Liberal/Moderate Judges, was author of McCain Fiengold, and supported amnesty with Ted Kennedy. He admitted he does not know much about the economy during the earlier debates and thinks once jobs are gone they are gone forever. The ECONOMY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE RIGHT NOW. This should not come as a news flash to you Carl..watch the stock market tomorrow after the world markets took a major hit today.
Mitt Romney is best able to solve our economic problems and has a PROVEN record in buisness, executive leadership as Gov of MA and internationally with the 2002 Olympics. He can and will fix our Govts out of control spending. He has prepared an economic stimulus plan (the only candidate to do so) to keep this country from sliding into a recession.
McCain and Hucakbee have serious record issues that the Dems will use against them in Nov if they are our nominee. Ann Coulter has some sage advice… be wary when your political opponets like your canidate. The Dems love McCain and Huckabee and can’t wait to expose them. They know Mitt takes their most important issues from them… the economy and universal health care. The war in Iraq is going well and is declining as a issue for the avg american voter.
Mitt is the most electable candidate and will electrify the party and America if given a chance. Carl/Fox please give him the credit he deserves for being in front in number of delegates, leading in fundraising (not just his money) and leading in the latest polls. You do a disservice to Mitt and America when you are not fair and balanced. Megyn Kelly did not even mention Romney today during the political segment of Americas Newsroom today. I know its not good for ratings for Romeny to be the frontrunner but the facts are the facts.

I strongly support Mitt Romney for President of the United States.
I don’t care so much who the VP is, though I am leaning toward Huckabee. I would love to see the headline showing a Mormon and an Evangelical running together for President. It would be a sign of the second coming. (Just kidding!)
I am personally more a Fred Thompson fan than a Huckabee supporter otherwise (Huck is just too inexperienced and maybe a little wasteful), but a Romney-Huckabee ticket would certainly help unify the party base. One Evangelical gentleman I spoke to in Iowa said he could get behind that ticket. My main complaint is the contrast between Mitt’s industry and Thompson’s image of laziness.
Rudy is a pretty good leader, and my friend who just called suggests he should be Mitt’s VP (or vice versa should Mitt somehow lose out), but that matchup seems to be a mixed signal, much like a Romney-McCain ticket might be.
Regardless, Mitt for the win!
Delegates? Yeah-come on give us a tally, please? Isn’t that what this race is about? November we vote to elect this is supposedly for “delegates”,right?
Thanks!
McCain will not be hard to beat. How long has Carl been reporting politics? McCain is severely disliked by Republicans. He is not conservative. He would not promote or even vote for the marriage protection ammendment (He is for the gay agenda). He is for amnesty. He formed part of the Gang of 14 to help democrats during the judicial confirmation process. He even seriously contemplated being part of John Kerry’s campaign. McCain couldn’t careless about Republican values. As has been demonstrated by him again and again he will do as he pleases and the rest of us or our opinions be darned. This is the McCain way. It always has been. Imagine the betrayal everyone felt about Bush’s support for amnesty for illegal aliens. Now compound that for numerous times with a McCain in the Whitehouse over the next 4-8 years. It turns my stomach.
On the otherhand, Romney is truly the full spectrum conservative Republicans are looking for and the press doesn’t want them to adopt. Read his positions here: The DNC has been worried about Romney for over a year now and everything you hear in the press has been spun by them. The DNC has originated most the talking points you keep hearing. That tells you about who they REALLY fear in the general election- Mitt Romney. Go to Townhall.com and read Ann Coulters comment in the article “The Elephant in the Room” (http://www.townhall.com/columnists/AnnCoulter/2008/01/16/the_elephant_in_the_room)
Why does Carl give a positive boost to McCain and a negative comment for Romney. Carl does not play fair. Especially when the facts show that Romney has more delegates, has more states and more votes for him than any other Candidate. Huckabee is over… he has demonstrated that he cannot do well enough in enough states to be competitive in a General Election. The conservatives are now starting to rally behind Romney all over too- in an anything but McCain rally. Read the blogs and the news. If Romney doesn’t take Florida he will survive and probably still win the nomination. If McCain looses Florida – he is over. He will be finished. Not many like the guy. Not to mention that he also would be a disaster for us fiscally. He is a great foot soldier… but would be a disaster as a President on Social and economic issues.
We need Romney- Honest, & Competant and perfect on the conservative agenda… AND the DEMS have believed he would be the most formidable opponent of the Republican field for over a year now. Now add to that fact that the Markets tonight are falling all over the world and are in serious trouble and you can see an even better reason for Romney. Competancy in the free market. no other candidate can touch him here.
Remember in business you have to be efficient with your resources and live within your means to succeed and then make lots of right decisions to do really well. We need that kind of leadership in Goverment for a change… not lifelong politicians.
Romney= Strong families, Strong Defense, Strong Economy, Smaller Goverment, Fantastic Leadership.
A true conservative in Alabama. Mitt Romney our next president, Fred Thompson our next Vice President and McCain our next Military person in the Pentagon. All three could make a good team. Go Mitt!!!
Carl doesn’t like Mitt. He never has. He cannot even report the facts.
Mitt Romney is the only one who can promote the following:
Strong Families, Strong Defense, Strong Economy, Strong Foriegn Relations, Fantastic Leadership. Possibly unparallel in our time of Presidential Candidates.
Add to that the markets falling tonight all across the world.
We need Mitt!
The polls will most likely show Fred tanking in Florida. Also Rudy came out fighting today and had quite the write up on McCain and his terrible record. Rudy knows he’s fighting for the same people McCain is. Look for the fireworks on Thursday in the debates especially from Rudy as his presidential hopes are all on Florida..a la Fred in SC. If it’s McCain vs Rudy who comes out tougher? Both Rudy and Mitt will play up the economic strengths..and leave McCain in the dust.
At this point…I’m not sure Fred would want to VP either…but I do think more Fredheads would rather support Romney than McCain. To me, Mitt has the best understanding of what America faces economically, militarily and how they are connected. His economic acumen goes further than just numbers, but into illegal immigration and how it affects the country economically and how that translates into national security and then into healthcare. Competence, organization mental acumen and a work ethic are all huge qualities Mitt brings to the table. He’s not perfect but I can’t help but think he would be a very effective POTUS.
The only reason Fred came in third in S.C. was because the “independents” mostly voted for McCain. It’s unfair that our own party candidate is picked by those OTHER THAN our own party. The system does not work. I hope Fred stays in at least until “Super Tuesday.” Let the independents vote for their favorite third-party candidate.
Ugh…stay away from Alabama, Huckabee! Blah!
Help, We need a Republican candidate who will win against the democrats who want to tax and spend us into oblivion.
Our best candidate on the economy is Mitt Romney. He knows how to create and hold jobs. Without a strong economy, nothing else works! Romney has turned failing businesses into productive, profitable ones. Romney has real world experience with the global economy. He has used his knowledge gained as a Harvard business school and law school graduate to solve problems in private business, the Olympics and as a governor. Many consider Romney to be a political genius.
Romney will absolutely support and defend our constitution. He supports states rights and individual rights. Romney believes in freedom. He will work for equal justice for every citizen and every state. He cares about those voters and states that other candidates have snubbed.
Romney is a man of integrity who has lived socially conservative values his entire life. He is free from the pay-back politics that always happen when a person has served many years in the senate. He will bring new vision, energy, and efficiency to office.
Romney asks the right questions, listens and learns, analyzes and evaluates carefully, and leads decisively. Romney is a TRUE Republican who is committed to the long-term strength of our nation. The more closely I examine Romney, the more I like him. Romney has my vote!
Once again Carl, you prove you are nothing more than a right wing paid shill and tool of the current administration. No mention of Ron Paul again I see. When will you wake up?
Mitt is leading in delegates, popular vote, overall wins, and is the man with the experience, leadership, and morals we need. He will get the job done. He has campaigned everywhere and will united the party.
Romney will win Florida- watch for it- and he will be the nominee. We support you overseas.

I can’t stand McCain, nor do I like spelling his name, he’s old and lame, wow, I should keep roll’n with that, ha ha. Anyway, the minute he walks up on stage and gives the dbl thumbs up and talks in his little wierd voice, it brings back all the crap I hate about him. Hello, he’s a DEMOCRAT!!
He should be a running mate to Hillary.
If Fred drops, there is really only one choice for us Republicans and thats Mitt, he’s not the best, but is the best we have to choose from, end of story!

Carl, why do you have to make Faux agenda so obvious by leaving out Ron Paul? Here you talk about money issues, well… Ron Paul is placed better than anyone save for Romney (who earned his capital by selling to Chinese defense contractors).
You want to talk polls? Ron Paul got 2nd in Nevada. Outside of Nevada, he consistently places higher than Rudy, and often times higher than Thompson.
So, if it’s not money, or polls, what is it? Internet support? Text Polls? Meetup groups? What is it, Carl, that keeps you from mentioning Ron Paul?
Yesterday Faux placed this silly smear about Ron Paul’s newsletter about MLK. Guess what. Ron Paul raised $1.9 million on MLK day. For Ron Paul truly respects MLK, and average American people see that.
People take notice. We turned off Faux, and we stopped spending money with your sponsors. I cancelled my Ameritrade account, because they advertise on Faux. And I told them so.
[...] seems that Fred Thompson will not participate in Thursday’s Florida debate. Aside from that, he also has an announcement scheduled soon. Does this mean that Thompson will drop out? This isn’t the first time that rumors of this [...]
Lets see, With the FLORIDA PRIMARY approaching:
HOWS A ROMNEY/JEB BUSH ticket sound?
or maybe a ROMNEY/GINGRICH?
I LIKE THEM BOTH. EITHER would beat any DEM Ticket!
I like Thompson’s ideas, but unfortunately, he just doesn’t seem to have the “fire in the belly” to go the distance.
I think a Romney/Thompson could possibly be a great team and complement each other’s strengths/weaknesses.
They’d sure be a lot better than a McCain/Huckabee ticket. I’d vote for Hillary Clinton before I’d vote for those two liberals.
I notice a pretty even complaint of your coverage from every candidate out there, either we are a country of moran’s, OR, we have campaign staffers from each candidate runnin’ there mouth on here. LOL . I am an independent, trying to make up my mind. I would really like to hear more about Mr. Edwards. He seems sincere, and I think he could beat John McCain, who I respect, but can’t possible vote for. His stance on immigration, and his age are what keep me from it and after living in the middle class, I would like to stay here, and can’t take four more years of the GOP cutting taxes on the wealthy, and killing the middle class. The only place the money trickles down to are the CEO’s and the uber wealthy.
SO, i am shopping, and implore you to give me more info on substance. For instance, they all say tax the rich but they don’t say how, or who they are talking about, or what the low cap is for tax breaks. Pres. Clinton gave us money back for what we spent on health and BOY did that help. Listen, I’m not looking for a free ride, success shouldn’t be to easy. But If we could just keep up with inflation it would sure help.
SO, could you ask the candidates about their tax programs, get numbers, and would you find out what each candidates specific plan for the immigration problem and how they will achieve it please. The illegals are a big draw on us as we have to pay for their med. expenses, infrascture, and education. My family and I had to leave our home in Fl of 22 years because our taxes jumped from 1200 to just under 5,000 IN ONE YEAR! Cape Coral Fl. you could check it.
Thanks so much, I watch your report on Fox Report each night and like it, just wish it included more interviews with the candidates. Thanks
Why do you suppose people aren’t remembering that McCain authored the amnesty bill? My gosh, after the SC win he still said that he believed they should get it!
Wake up people…
Where is Ron Paul on your site?
Ronald Reagan was called “unelectable” until March of 80.
I heard a media representative say that Ron Paul wouldn’t be in the debate because the people had voted. That was before the NH vote, no one had voted.
When you do your telephone surveys do you take into account how many people do not have land lines anymore?
Why are you trying to stop Dr. Paul?
Carl, nice job forever shilling for McCain beyond all reason or accuracy. Do you think you can sway crowds and polls if you only give good news for McCain even if it’s old or inaccurate? and ignore all other facts?
They should nick name him McCain Carl Cameron.
How can you talk about Thompson and not Ron Paul?
People need to search his name on YouTube to understand just how good he is because the media exclude or make fun of him. When they see the truth they are impressed.
Stop withholding the truth.
I was watching Fox News yesterday and they went to a feed from Carl Cameron in their “election mobile”. It was amazing to me that through the whole report, Carl made it very clear that he has become a biased reporter. Somehow he found time to talk about McCain, Huckabee, Giuliani and even Thompson but didn’t metion Romney once. How can you be a fair and balanced journalist and mention every other candidate (including some who are on the downslide) but not mention the one who is definitely in the lead in number of votes and delegates? Shame on Carl Cameron.
Hey Carl, How about we follow the slogan “We Report, You Decide” not “I am Carl Cameron, I have an agenda and it shows”.
Way to much tail wagging the dog Carl. It’s not good for honest elections where voters can make well informed choices, and that’s not good for our country to attempt to sway voters with deceptive tricks in biased coverage.
The press is way to powerful to be so self serving and medling in the peoples politics. Without good information the democratic process is a total joke. If the democratic process is a joke, then this country and our way of life is extremely threatened.
Thanks a bunch Carl

I like Rudy for the job to kick the dems back to their own dark age they live in and combat the campaign they and their press have waged of disinformation, and the twisting of the paradigms of the people of this country into nonsensical idiocy.
I like Mitt for his economic acumen and ability to get things done, as well as get liberals to unite with him (of course Rudy does pretty well there as well).
Either would be great, but I wish we could get them both.
Ruitt Giuliomney would be my perfect president. I would be ecstatic and go work for them for free, almost, maybe, except I have 4 kids to support.
Hey, I got it. How about a Romney or Giuliani with a Rice as VP Ticket?
Before the democrats make their stanky little choice between their bad policy pushing destructive black or female “stars”?
I think that upon announcement of that ticket, we would lose a lot of mouthy and Machiavellian bothersome dumbacrats to brain aneurysms.
Once that happened, I would be like Bill Clinton at Ron Browns funeral. I would be chuckling and enjoying myself, unless I saw a camera on me, then I would boob up pretty well. I always wanted to try that, but never yet had a time when I could use it, as I am a bit more genuine than Mr.. Bill.
Romney/Thompson—Yeah, I could live with that.
McCain wants to turn Republicans into the anti-free market, amnesty party, but the voters won’t let him get away with it. Romney will be a great leader who will outsmart Hillary in the general election. Go Mitt in ‘08!!

With Thompson most certainly on the way out – we need a GOP candidate that still carries the true conservative banner – Mitt Romney would be the last one left that can truly articulate the GOP conservative platform. Lets let the two GOP “centrists” McCain (weak on immigration and tax relief) and Guilani (weak on abortion, gay rights, and general personal morales) battle it out for number 2! The GOP must unite and rally around a true conservative – not pander to the populist, left wing liberals.
A new Arizona Republican straw poll was conducted Saturday Jan 19th in Maricopa County. (The most heavily populated county in Arizona) McCain came in 5th. In fact, McCain was also voted to be the “most unacceptable” candidate in the field. People in the media keep saying McCain will win in Arizona. Really?
Read the complete results:

V123, that was an outstanding article. Coulter saw everything I’ve been seeing. I’ve become very good at reading the liberal media. Here is the article, everyone should read this insightful piece by Ann Coulter.
http://www.townhall.com/columnists/AnnCoulter/2008/01/16/the_elephant_in_the_room
Tip in reading a democrat, when Bill Clinton accuses someone or a party or campaign of something with his high sounding tone, it’s himself or his party or his campaign that is doing it. The scum bag invariably tells on himself, if you know him well enough to listen. He’s also taught the democrats this, as in their calling republicans “the party of corruption” when it is without question the democrats who don’t care about corruption in their own ranks as long as their media can smooth it out. The republicans always have taken out their own trash. If the democrats did this, there would be nothing left of the party’s elected officials.
Here comes a rant, accurate and I think insightful, maybe a short article, but still a rant:
This is why Ann is so spot on when she reads the liberal media’s denigration of Romney and their support of the lemons, McPander and the Huckster, for what it really is. A well founded fear of running against Mitt Romney. Notice they also started a giggle campaign against Giuliani, which only made the gigglers like Bob Beckle look extremely odd. Giuliani kicked the arse out of the mob in New York, and got the liberals in that hole New York (which he cleaned up from the murder capitol of the country and a nasty cesspool, into the safest 1 million + city in the country) only an dolt would laugh at that man. They should laugh (if it was not so sad) at the moron democrats in Louisiana and New Orleans, who screwed over the people of New Orleans during (and long before) Katrina’s hit. Yeah, the democrats despite the lies in the Main Stream Media, who really crapped on the people of N.O. denying them food and water when the red cross attempted to bring it, and holding them captive so it would be more easy to remove them without a struggle. It was the state with their elected incompetents, not our president Bush or FEMA (which was never designed as a first responder) who messed things up. Just a small example of the twistings of the democrats and their media, there are so many more. We have to know them, because for the good of this country, we have to expose them for what they are, to beat them.
Current Vote Count (after Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, S. Carolina): Romney 530,617; McCain 510,402; Huckelbee 339,824; Guiliani 60,220 (doesn’t count Wyoming – Wyoming vote counts not available on NPR).
Romney is in the lead, despite what the media says.
Well said Jean. I sent a similar letter to Fox News yesrterday. I’m a life long hard core republican, but I’v statrt watching more CNN. With them, I know what to expect. Carl cameron is like a little school girl covering Mike Huckabee.
Hey Carl, remember back in 2000 when Brit Hume of all people scolded you on live TV for wearing the cutsie “Major League A’s” baseball jersey the Press Pool made. You were on Bush bandwagon since then, you duche-bag.
Fred Thompson is an honest and strong leader. He would make an excellent Vice President. I am all for a Romney-Thompson ticket. Under these two leaders great conservative change, economic stability and strong world leadership would ensue.
I’ve been very disappointed in your “anti-Romney” reporting! Your “fair and balanced” is anything but and many viewers are turning to other stations because of your obvious partiality to Huckabee. Did you grow up with him or what? You act as though he’s your good buddy when I was under the apparent misiimpression that reporters were not supposed to boldly show their acceptance/rejection of candidates as you do. It is also apparent that you have no use for Romney–many of us do not share that feeling and don’t appreciate a reporter who is so negatively vocal.
get real Carl
None of these guys, with the exception of Mitt is a potential VP. If Mitt doesn’t get the nomination, he will certainly be VP.
More likely, Mitt gets the nomination. The GOP isn’t going to make the same mistake they made in 2000, a VP who cannot run for president. McCain and Fred are too old, Rudy is a psycho who is loathed by most voters, and Huck has no appeal outside his small base and very strong negatives outside that group.
Mitt will likely pick a bland southern governor or senator to be his VP.
Latest Poll ARG Poll from Florida January 20-21

Tomorrow I get to go to the polls along with my wife and vote McCain 2008.
Those of you who are still wondering who to vote for and have strong Christian values, go to Evangelicals for Mitt and read why so many evangelical Christians have chosen Mitt Romney as their candidate. None of the other candidates of either party hold a candle to Romney as a person of high moral principles, great intelligence, and tremendous leadership ability. Those who try to find fault with him can only repeat over and over that he’s a flip-flopper. Abortion was the only issue where he changed his opinion. Those who oppose him must either be biased against his religion, uninformed of his qualifications, or politically liberal. There is no question in the minds of those conservatives who have seriously studied the man, that Mitt Romney is what America needs in such difficult times.
This is the second blog I’ve posted in two days. The first wasn’t printed. I’m wondering if I’ll see this one.
I see I’m not alone in believing Carl Cameron is purposely downplaying Romney, so McCain can get the edge. It’s so obvious that Carl and the democrats want McCain, because he could never beat Hillary or Obama in the debates. Cut the Crap Cameron and be fair and balanced. We want More kudos to Romney. He is the true Conservative, and the best candidate for President. Economics is his strongest attribute, but in Mass. he set in motion strategies to deal with Illegal Immigration. Example: There was a raid at a large business in New Bedford, Mass. The Illegals were sent to jail and then deported. He also sent Mass. police to get educated in dealing with the illegals. Because God forbid Criminals get profiled for being illegal! Romney wants strong borders to make a stronger country. He is for legal immigration not illegal immigration. Get the message Carl Cameron! Fox News should send you to Pakistan to follow their candidates around. Be careful, though, unfair reporting in the MidEast could cost you.
Carl, come on! Romney is winning in every way. McCain is old and over. Whenever you start talking I have to change the channel. Stick to the facts.
Fairandbalanced,
I love the idea of Romney/Gingrich! Great thinking on your part! I hope Mitt takes notice of this!
As for those who think the popular vote should replace the Electoral vote, let me remind you,the
three largest States could run the country and the rest of us could just stay home on election day!
Our Forefathers knew very well what they were doing when it comes to Democracy!!!
Don’t dare anoint McAmnesty.. true conservatives dont wont this man. He belongs retired to Shady Pines along with Kennedy and Reid.
Hopefully, all real conservatives can understand that Mc has too many skeltons and seemingly never listens to the constituents that put him there. This man takes his marching orders from Kennedy and the other dems plain and simple.. I’m ashamed frankly, that Reid is from Nv., talk about a bumbler when someone speaks. Ensign stays, Reid goes next time he comes up for election.
Say no to Mcamnesty. Down with Kennedy and H. Reid too
Carl,
How do you explain the polls showing Ron Paul in last in Nevada but then he came in 2nd? How about showing some love to the doctor instead of trying to smear him.
Conservatives don’t let conservatives vote McCain!
How about a real Stimulus for America.
1. Offer a 90 day window for anyone to make any purchase up to $50,000 that will be tax deductible. This purchase is a one time offer and must be purchased within the next 90 days.
2. For the long term corporate stimulus; offer a 10% tax credit on any American made new machinery and a 5% tax credit for the purchase of any used equipment.
3. For the family make the interest paid on Auto, furniture and appliance loans deductible.
These are 3 simple steps that will turn around our economy immediately and permanently. The best part is that it costs the tax payer nothing.

If you believe that the other candidates still in this race are there because they were voted for by CONSERVATIVES….you’re in for a rude awakening very soon. Fred Thompson was and still is the best choice to lead this country and I will WRITE him in if I need to.
Here’s something that opened up my eyes to all those “independent” votes that have been taking place so far

“Both the Byzantine nature of the Michigan presidential primary — as well as the crucial importance of the January 15 contest — were underscored by the news that one of Mike Huckabee’s major boosters in the primary is actually supporting Barack Obama for President. State Rep. LaMar Lemmons of Detroit, a Democrat and African-American, recently unveiled ‘Democrats for Huckabee’ to urge crossover votes for the former Arkansas governor January 15.
“Some Democrats are urging Democrat voters to vote uncommitted, which would allow any delegates to be won later in the year,” notes the marketing-manager-turned-blogger Dan Riehl at Riehl World View. “But why preserve democracy when you can jumble a Republican race. Don’t look for the polls to be too accurate in Michigan. Or for the results to necessarily mirror Republican voters desires.””
Carl,
Your making comments against Mitt Romney right and left. You are showing you bias, not FAIR AND BALANCED. You need to educate yourself on the voting records of McCain and you will see just how liberal he votes. Here are a few issues that are close to the conservatives heart.
McCain voted yes on prohibiting same-sex marriage, 1996, but, said he would be comfortable with a gay president , 1999, then voted no on a constitutional ban of same-sex marriage in 2006, and said a ban on same sex marriage is unRepublican, leave it to the states. Romney put gay mariage ban into Gop party platform, 2005, voted for constitutional amendment defining 1-man-1-woman marriage , 2007, and said marriage is a sacred institution, between a man and a woman, 2007.
McCain voted to expand embryonic stem cell research 2004, and voted yes on expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines and supported federal funding, 2007. Romney vetoed stem cell research bill, 2005, and chose altered nuclear transfer instead of embryonic stem cells, 2007, said stem cell research lofty goals don’t justify destroying life, 2007.
McCain says decisions on teaching evolution should be made locally, 1999. Believes in evolution; but sees the hand of God in nature, 2007. Romney
said I believe Jesus is savior of mankind & son of God, and the bible is the word of God, 2007. Constitution is explicit: no religious test for presidency, 2007, and no church authorities will exert influence on my decisions, 2007.
McCain says he wants Roe vs. Wade, overturned, but would not repeal it, 1999, but (now) says he supports repealing Roe v. Wade, May 2007. McCain also says abortion is still okay if raped; and no testing for rape, 2000. Romney said personally against abortion, but left it as pro-choice as governor, 2002. Firmly pro-life, 2006, said it was a two step process: overturn Roe; then change hearts and minds. Romney said he would be delighted to sign a federal ban on ALL abortions, 2007.
McCain voted for amnesty for 12 million illegals in country now, 2007, and voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security, 2006. MCain says there should be no official English, native american can use own languages, 2007. Romney said make English national language, immigrants can use their own language too, 2007. Romney said enforce the law against 12 million illegals here now, 2007.
McCain on Homeland Security says waterboarding is torture, to close Guantanamo Bay prison, announce no-torture policy, 2007. Romney says double Guantanamo, use military and diplomatic actions to defeat Jihadist, not wise for us to describe our interrogation techniques, 2007.
McCain Voted against Bush administration tax cuts. Romney has a history as governor of cutting taxes, and pledges not to raise taxes, 2007.
McCain voted no on Bush Administration Energy Policy, 2003, and voted yes on banning drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge, 2005. Romney said develop alternative energy, but also drill in ANWR 2006. Romney – No Regrets policy: biofuel, nuclear power, drill ANWR, 2007.
Its so sickening to watch McCain and his liberal cronies present him as a conservative Republican. If he wins the nominaton, I am going to vote for a democrat in Nov. Four of our other friends have said that they will not vote for him either. Unlike McCain, Obama has integrity, and presents himself with presidental manners and does not hoist his pants up when he’s on the podium. McCain is not going to live much longer – he’s too decrepid. He can’t even sit still for 5 min ! My husband and I are both registered Republicans but that liberal liar and amesty liberal will not get our vote. We were registered democrats 10 years ago before they became representatives for illegals and blacks and every other ACLU cause. Kennedy is going to get his causes thru either way. All those dear supporters for McCain just need a job. We are not fooled.
