For those of you that think Huckabee is your chose I'ld like to say that after Fox News Sunday when Huckabee said he didn't think McCain has ever said anything dishonest, Huckabee is not the man I thought he was. Ever since November I wanted Huckabee to win but after the Sunday show I'm not sure if I can vote for anybody. I would like to say I've never liked Mitt Romney, but if your only choice is Huckabee, McCain, or Romney who are you going to vote for. I think the most dangerous one of the three is McCain, the only thing he knows about the economy is what he's learned in Washington that to me has nothing to do with what's going on in the real world. I'm not telling anybody who to vote for but if McCain is elected this country will go into a depression for which it has never seen before. Pray for the people here who can be prayed for.

What I learned from this incident? (1) Mitt Romney, at a critical juncture in our country's destiny, didn't have a clue about how to proceed. When we have men and women on the ground, in harm's way, a Commander in Chief hasn't the luxury of waiting for hindsight. And (2) Mitt Romney doesn't know the difference between an issue and a personal attack. OK. McCain stretched Romney's initial public statement about what he'd do in Iraq, but he made his point that Romney isn’t qualified to take over the military and foreign affairs.. McCain, using a technique as old as debate, succeeded in luring Mitt and redirecting the discussion towards Romney's lack of understanding and skills in military matters and foreign affairs.

Mitt responded by calling McCain names and savaging McCain's character and impugning McCain's motives. Does Mitt understand that McCain's throwing out the "timetable" lure is kid's stuff when compared to the heat of the kitchen in Washington? And how did Romney respond? He whined about "timing" and accused McCain of being a Nixon plumber. Oh really? Seems that McCain's statements were all very, very public. Talk about dragging the issue into the dirt. Does Romney understand that if he'd made those insane and personal attacks on John McCain's character and motives in the House or the Senate, his words would have been taken down and he would have been subject to discipline by the chair? And since when are his opponents obligated to stick to Romney's agenda for "bringing up issues"?!!

Romney debates like a bully and he simply doesn't have the depth or the knowledge to survive in the real world of politics. He has this quaint notion that savaging an opponents' character is the same as savaging an opponents' position on an issue. His hubris is so astoundingly outsized that he has no concept that making enemies by school yard name-calling will insure that even if he is elected, no one in the other equal branches of government will work with him. He keeps bringing up the specter of Reagan’s term. What he doesn’t understand is that the secret to Reagan’s success in Washington was that Reagan understood the difference between debate and personal attack. Reagan’s political opponents respected him and he respected them. There was no more partisan politician than Tip O’Neil, but like Reagan, Tip understood that a difference on the issues didn’t preclude respect and liking for an opponent. What I’m seeing in Romney is that behind the clean-cut exterior, is something I do not trust and do not like. The President is not a CEO—sometimes the President has to recognize that he/she is not going to have his/her way on everything and an opponent just may have legitimate and respectable views. “That man will say anything to become President,” says Mitt. And just like Mitt thought tying his dog to the roof of the car was a funny story, he hasn’t a clue what a hypocrite this makes him. Disgusting and a dangerous blind spot for the man who would be President.

I wonder if Mitt has ever read “On Liberty” by John Stewart Mills? I wonder if his supporters have ever read “Conscience of a Conservative”?

If you're looking for perfection in a candidate, you won't find it. <b>The most qualified, best candidate is still Romney. He's willing to serve our country - without pay and without personal ambition or pride.

I can't hold my nose and vote for McCain or Huckabee because of demonstrated dishonesty and bigotry. I'll likely cast a write-in vote for Romney.

I'm still holding out that I can actually vote for Romney. <b>Go Mitt..

Mr. Bloom.good post...the proof is in the puddin ...I congratulate you,and encourage you to not let these Romney followers discourage you....The reason I say that,is because no matter how much proof you have, you'll find that the same people, that make the comments you see on this page will be saying the same thing tomorrow, even in light of Romneys Florida Loss....There's only one answer to that. They are the ones to cry and whine when they're called out on issues that they have no defense for, like the lies, that are apparant from what you,and others point out,and then there's the things I post out of their own literature......but they'll still be followers, and it doesn't have much to do with polotics....the issues they post are camaflouge, but there is a reason, and its not hard to figure out

"campaign carl" seems a little to "joined at the hip" to McCain's campaign to be as "fair and balanced" as I've come to expect out of FOX.
"hey, carl" think you could report from Romney campaign hdqtrs instead of McCain's once in a blue moon? and how about staying at a nuetral campaign site until polls close?
The MSM is providing more than enought free campaign "advertising" exposure for McCain; I think FOX should not follow that trend.
and could someone please start to be "fair and balanced" concerning Romney and his "millions" by also reporting the massive amount of campaign contributions he has received from donors other than himself; what he has given his own campaign is much, much less than contributions from others, AND he has a name recognition/background deficit with McCain, so to run successfully he would have needed more advertising requiring more campaign funds! I'm tired of the favored status McCain is receiving from "news" reporters, including FOXNEWS.

Speaking of cutting each other's throats... Is Carl & Fox News intentionally shifting the message to national security instead of the economy? (McCain votes vs. Romney votes?) Of course. They use their media presence to shift.

The home page for Fox News today (Florida Primary Day) has a large picture next & text, "Fanatic's Barbaric Orders: Behead him like a Pig". Why not a big picture of the candidates instead of highlighting a plot to kidnap a Muslim British soldier, cut off his head, and post video of the atrocity on the Web.

Why should we care about this plot, except to draw a grisly focus back to terrorists, war and not the economy. Shallow ... but expected.

Go Mitt
