Romney Outspends All Opponents Combined in Ad Buys…

Presidential candidates have spent $107 million on television advertising so far this season, according to the Wisconsin Project which has always done tremendous data crunching of national presidential campaigns.  Nearly all of the money was spent in the weeks and months leading up to the earliest primaries and caucuses and almost none of it on Super Tuesday states.

Although Mitt Romney announced yesterday plans to go up on the air, no Republican candidate had advertised by last Sunday in Super Tuesday states.

Democrats and Republicans aired roughly 150,000 ads total during this time, spending approximately the same amount on an air campaign that was mostly positive but lopsided within the GOP. Republican Mitt Romney spent as much as all of his opponents combined – and almost four times as much as John McCain in Florida. Yet McCain bested Romney in Florida, as he did in New Hampshire and South Carolina, despite spending less than a quarter on ads.

Republican ads featured the issues of taxes, defense (including Iraq, veterans and terrorism), abortion and immigration

90% of nearly all candidates’ ads were judged “positive,” with only 10% determined to be “contrast” in nature and none “negative,” save for eleven ads aired by Mike Huckabee in Iowa. Romney were the candidate of “change,” repeating that mantra in one-third of his ads,

These are among the findings of a new report from the University of Wisconsin Advertising Project that analyzed data obtained from the TNS Media Intelligence Campaign Media Analysis Group (TNSMI/CMAG). The report analyses political television advertising in 90% of TV households across the country and include all data through Sunday, January 27.

Not surprisingly, Iowa and New Hampshire led all other states in markets – including adjacent markets like Boston or Omaha – targeted for presidential campaign ads. They were followed by South Carolina, Nevada, Florida and Michigan far behind. Voters in and around Des Moines saw almost 22,000 ads this campaign, worth more than $15 million, while their New Hampshire counterparts – those watching Manchester and Boston TV anyway, saw about exactly the same.

In fact, the lone TV station in Manchester, New Hampshire, WMUR-TV, saw 14,000 ads alone with more money spent there than in all Super Tuesday states combined.

Through Sunday, only $8 million had been spent in Super Tuesday states on TV – $3 million in California alone – yet nine days out from the New Hampshire primary, $26 million had been spent there, and at the same point before the Iowa caucuses, $36 million had been spent there.

Furthermore, as of last Sunday, none of the Republicans had purchased any of $8 million in Super Tuesday states. “Talk about a compressed Super Tuesday campaign,” Goldstein says. “Until this week, no Republican was on TV in these key states at all.”

Republican candidates led the majority of their TV commercials with a variety of traditional conservative issues – taxes, defense (including Iraq, veterans and terrorism), abortion and immigration, all three leading Democrats led with the same. Meanwhile, more than 29% of Romney’s ads also used the word change.

But if “change” has been a big word in presidential campaign ads so far the year, the American flag has been the most popular image. McCain wrapped himself in the flag more than any other leading candidate, with 77% of his TV ads displaying the patriotic image. Close behind was Giuliani, with 65% of his spots doing the same, and Romney with 44% of his.

The only pure negative ad aired by a candidate to date was aired by Mike Huckabee. The ad, criticizing Mitt Romney, was pulled, but not before it aired 11 times in Iowa markets

Let us look at McCain’s conservative credentials:
-IMMIGRATION: he wrote the bill granting amnesty to illegal immigrants (co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy)
-SOCIAL SECURITY: he voted to give your social security money to illegal immigrants
-TAXES: he voted against the Bush tax cuts multiple times (he has since flip-flopped and has campaigned as a lifelong tax-cutter)
-RHETORIC: he routinely engages in Democratic class warfare against big companies in America, particularly the “evil” drug companies who research cures to debilitating diseases for a profit
-ECONOMY: as recently as December 2007 he admitted “he does not know the economy very well” and needed to get better at it
-1ST AMENDMENT: he wrote the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill that was declared to be an unconstitutional infringement of the 1st Amendment (co-sponsored by ultra-liberal Democrat Russ Feingold)
-2ND AMENDMENT: he was called the “worst 2nd amendment candidate” by the president of the NRA
-ENERGY TAX: wrote a bill (co-sponsored by his buddy Lieberman) imposing a massive tax on energy which, according to the Department of Energy, would drastically raise the price of gasoline and put 300,000 Americans out of work
-GLOBAL WARMING: supports radical global warming legislation which involved him voting with every Democrat; think only America is responsible to take action, not other superpowers
-JUDGES: he joined forces with Democrats (Gang of 14) to block the Senate Republican’s attempt to confirm conservative, strict constructionist judges
-WAR ON TERROR: fought with Hillary Clinton to demand that terrorists be given a full American trial
-GAY MARRIAGE: he joined liberals to fight against a federal marriage amendment supporting the institution of traditional marriage
-CHRISTIANS: campaigning in 2000, he famously described Christian leaders as “agents of intolerance”
-PRO-LIFE: he filed an amicus brief against pro-life advocates in Wisconsin
-BI-PARTISANSHIP: he met with leading Democrats in 2004 to discuss the possibility of being John Kerry’s Vice-President
-PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: ringleader of the infamous Keating 5 ethical scandal which cost US tax payers $160 billion (Google it)
-PERSONAL ETHICS: McCain cheated on his first wife after she had a severe accident that left her partially disabled. He then divorced her and married his multi-millionaire mistress, whose daddy bought McCain a spot in the Congress

Romney still thinks he can buy the presidency. Shame on him!

Comment by Jim

A typical effort to buy the presidency.
Goes to show that Huckabee as the real support of the American people. No huge bank rolls in that campaign yet he is still in the hunt.
Go Huckabee!

I think its time for Romney to put his checkbook away, go back to his mansion(s) and let the people of this country put their choice in office.

Comment by Jim

Carl,
Why are you still blasting Huckabee? No one in the media even gives this guy a chance to present his issues and policies but some (read Carl) go out of their way to print everything negative they can find. EVEN IF ITS THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!!

Mitt represents the typical effort to buy the presidency.
The fact the Huckabee is fighting not only the media biased but also a multi-million dollar personally fianced campaign just goes to show that Huckabee has the real support of the American people.

Its time for Romney to put his checkbook away, go back to his mansion(s) and let the people of this country put their choice in office.

Comment by Mark

Carl, Mike Huckabee ran one negative add that was pulled. He did not run 11 adds. Of course you know that. I know you want to help Mitt all you can. But people reading your articles are too informed to fall for your propaganda.

Comment by Karen

It’s interesting that the only negative add was by the man who prided himself for not going negative (although I guess he only wanted to show it to the media – not to the general public). For all you social conservatives who are worried about Mitt Romney not being truly socially conservative since he wasn’t always pro life – check out his speech last summer to the National Right to Life convention.
http://www.mymanmitt.com/mitt-romney/2007/06/governor-mitt-romney-remarks-at.asp
In my opinion, it’s one of the best speeches I’ve heard by a presidential candidate.

Comment by Gloria Gloodeck

Why is the media shoving John McCain down our throats? He can never win against Hillary or Obama. Mitt Romney is the only one who can and the liberal media does not want him in the running. He’s not qualified and he’s too old — yes, he’s a war hero, but that does not make him qualified to lead our country. A vote for McCain is a vote for a democrat.

Comment by Randy

“The only pure negative ad aired by a candidate to date was aired by Mike Huckabee. The ad, criticizing Mitt Romney, was pulled, but not before it aired 11 times in Iowa markets.” –Carl Cameron

So where are all these people (like Carl Cameron) who during the early primaries were telling the whole world that Romney’s ads were negative? It turns out the Evangelical preacher–Huckabee–is the one who had the negative add. What a hypocrite!

If you are a true conservative vote for Romney. Again, a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. How could Huckabee who professes to be a conservative allow McCain to be the nominee? He needs to bow out of the race and set aside his seflish agenda to be the VP for McCain. McCain is not who we would like to represent us in the White House.

Comment by Brett

But wait, this article contradicts McCain and Huckabees claims that Romney started the dirty politics/negative campaign with his early advertising which they used to justify ganging up on him like a bunch of starving wolves. Either the article is wrong or McCain and Huckabee are the real low down dirty politicians willing to lie in order to win. Well, we’ve already established McCain is a bold faced lier but evidence is mounting against Huckabee as well.

Comment by GrannyT

Romney spent that much? Yet we’re supposed to believe he’s the fiscally responsible candidate? How much has he spent per vote compared to the other candidates? With a 52% disapproval rating among those who know him best in Massachusetts when he left office; how can he possibly believe he is electable? If he really cared for his family he would quit spending his fortune on a losing cause. He can spend his entire fortune and still not buy my vote. I do not believe his wealthy elite supporters; because I have researched his record. He appointed liberal activist judges as Governor. I wasn’t born yesterday and am not stupid enough to fall for his say anything to win conversion.

Huckabee is less than 2% behind Romney in the RCP averages. Any one that thinks it’s a 2 man race is too ignorant to be involved in politics. Mike Huckabee supports the Fair Tax because he doesn’t want to punish productivity. Mike Huckabee is a true consistent conservative. We know where he will stand because of how he has stood. “We the people” don’t see anything wrong with a presidential candidate being someone who is “a believer in the rights, wisdom, or virtues of the common people.” (m-w.com definition)

With Huckabee’s frugal campaigning; Huck has proven he knows how to get more out of each buck. We need someone with that ability in Washington. On Super Tuesday my voice will be heard when I cast my vote for Mike Huckabee.

Comment by Ricardo (Chicago)

These conservative comments make me sick! Down with Mitt Romney and Lou “Meatball” Dobbs! Down with Fox news conservative pricks. The conservative ideology needs to diminish completely from America.

Comment by Brandon

Mr. Cameron,

Although on a different subject, I’d like to address something that has been weighing heavily on my mind as of late. A couple of months ago, you were on location at the Citadel in Charleston, SC. Fred Thompson was giving a speech at the college. That being said, I have always been an avid politico and aspire to master the sneaky ways of journalists. Once the speech was over, I went to the media room to meet Thompson and get my picture with him. However, my plans were foiled when, as I was walking up to the candidate, none other than YOU stuck your mike in his face. I commend you in your aggressive reporting. What I’m basically trying to say is – if I were a reporter, I would have done the same thing. However, because of you, my attempts at meeting every candidate this year were squashed.

Enough with the sarcasm. Thanks for all of the good and honest reporting. Well done this year and good luck the rest of the way!

Comment by Brad

The only reason Huckabee is still in this race is because he wants to draw evangelical conservative votes away from Romney and ensure McCain wins the nomination so he can get the VP spot. McLiar and Huckabee make a good pair that won’t win the general election because real conservatives won’t show up to support them.

Comment by Scott

Do you McCain/Huckabee types actually believe that they wouldn’t spend their own money on their campaigns if they had it? Don’t complain about Romney spending his own cash! Huckabee picked the wrong career field for making money. McCain married into his money. Romney made is money in an honest way. How did he do it? He saved businesses. And for the McCain guys out there. Romney’s “managing for profit” created and saved more jobs than McCain could ever hope to, same for Huckabee. Oh, and also… Romney raised more money than Huckabee and McCain combined. Maybe if they had a better message they could have raised more money and McCain wouldn’t have had to sell his campaign donation list to make ends meet.

Comment by Surfklutz

You can never say that Romney has been bought by special interest groups – or endorsers who hope for a position in the presidency.

Comment by Ryan

Strange how in every election canidates get persecuted for how much money they get dontated from all kinds of “special interest” groups but when someone steps up and finances themselves we persecute them even more. Oh that’s right he’s a Mormon! He must have stole the money from the devil. Glad to see that religious bigotry is still alive and well in America. Do you Huckabee suporters beleive in your constitution or not?

Comment by Jimmy

Huckabee is a “Straw Man” for McCain. Votes for McCain or Huckabee are votes for Hillary.
Another 4 or 8 years of Bill and Hillary in the White House; wonderful!!

Romney is the only honest man, no he’s not perfect, who is?
Only a “political idiot” would worry about his religion or his change
on abortion. (many have changed their mind on that subject)

Wait till the Clinton’s fill the next 2 or 3 Supreme Court vacancies that will occur
over the next 4 years. The hard working person will be the minority, religion will
come under further attack. It will be impossible for any family to survive.
All of you seniors in Florida won’t have Social Security. Only illegals will have any
support from the government. The rest of us will be mowing lawns and washing
dishes. Gasoline will be $20/gal because we will abandon our position in Iraq.
Retirement will be a concept not available to most Americans.
Think about that the next time you vote for a traitor, a man who will
collaborate with anyone to further his own goals.

The media believe that McCain is the only one that can beat Hillary.
So they won’t back Romney.
McCain cannot win because he has betrayed too many in his own party.
So when Clintons are in the White House and they bring back the Fairness
Doctrine to suppress dissent; Then you will realize how wrong you have been.

Good Luck!!

Comment by Greg

Carl, you guys at Fox are amazing.

Show me where he paid for the ad, it ran, and on what network. You can’t. That’s a fact. Huckabee’s organization was going to run an ad taking issue with Mitt on his distortions of Mike’s record but he decided to pull it before it went live because he didn’t want to resort to those tactics. You guys lifted a copy of the ad from sources you won’t disclose and you proceeded to portray this as Huckabee “running a negative ad”. I can expect as much for Fox since you guys are controlled by Romney money.

While Romney’s money may control your loyalty, people are on to you guys…sure seems Huckabee has you guys worried. To imply he is the only candidate that has run a negative ad. Come on, we all know the first true attack ads were Romney’s ads bought and paid for by his buddies (Club for Growth) – ole Romney boys club.

Comment by Crankey

Randy,
I’m not a McCain man, however,if it came down to my vote as the determing factor….you’d have McCain for a president, but as shown on fox this afternoon,Huckabee is only 1 percentage point behind Romney…….You people have run the evangelical down since day one,and now your asking the evangelicals,to throw their votes to Romney????Who’s the Hypocrite?????……….Vote Huckabee

Of Course, a smart, robust military is a vital part of National security. So are secure borders, success in the global market, a strong economy, and a credible foreign policy. They are equal components. If executed brilliantly, those vital components will protect our blood and treasure from wars that will be won before the first shot is fired.

Leadership is essential to the success of a President, so long as he is leading us down the right road. It takes brilliance to effectively execute many interdependent policies for the optimal result of NATIONAL SECURITY.

If military leadership was the most important qualification for President, we would only have former military officers on the ballot. Generals and Admirals would be the most qualified – I assume. (That would leave McCain in the dust)

If the ability to wheel and deal and pass one vote among hundreds of voters, to get a bill passed was the most important qualification for President, we would only have the most senior deal-making congressmen-and-women and lobbyists on the ballot. Hey, how ’bout those lobbyists? They seem to be effective in getting the job done! Ummmm, NO!

In a state, the buck stops at the governor’s desk. At the national level it stops at the president’s desk. Congress has continued to pass the buck around and down to the next generation.

I want a man with executive experience to see the whole picture with all it’s components and have the competence to make them work together for the good of the whole.

That’s Mitt Romney.

Comment by Jay Bee

I love it. Mitt Romney is not a politician! McCain has had 25 years in the Senate and is a Domestic Democrat. His political speak and his back door politics mean he owes a ton of favors in Washington. Huckabee has 11 years as a Governor – and his number six on the Judicial Watch.org’s Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians for his ethics charges. I think it is great to see Mitt Romney, a highly trained leader in negotiations campaigning against career politicians McCain and Huckabee (sure they make their crude go down sweeter, but their telling lies just like every one else).

I think I’ll vote for Romney, the non-politician.

Comment by Denny

Carl, you and the others like Sean Hannity are killing the conservitive movement. Why have you all decided to drink the Romney cool_aid? Do you think there’s a press secretary position in your future if Romney is elected? Is it that Romney owns Bain – which owns the conservitive talk show hosts? It’s unreal to read all the negative information you will print about Huckabee. You know what? If voting for Mike Huckabee is voting for Hillary Clinton or Barach Obama, then so be it. I would rather see either of them in there rather than someone who thinks they can buy the country. Romney makes me sick.

Comment by Shannon

Alert the media. I’m endorsing Mitt Romney. My endorsement as a “true conservative” means a whole lot more than any of the self serving politicians that have endorsed Mr. McCain. I have rarely seen such a blatant effort to influence a political race by the media, pundits and pollsters. Democrats are absolutely gleeful. Chris Matthews is slobbering on everyone he’s so excited. They are in a win win situation. Even the “All Stars” on Brit Hume’s show have resigned themselves to McCain. Got news for you. I early VOTED for Mitt in TN and my vote does count. Mitt is not giving up and neither are we conservatives. My memory of Mr. McCain’s in your face antics is very much intact. He is not a conservative. He is a liar and not worthy to lead this country. Go Mitt!

Wonder why is Huckabee Slamming Romney when McCain is the obvious Front Runner? He should be slamming McCain shouldn’t he?

Today’s News 2.1.08

Huckabee: A Vote for Romney is a Vote for Hillary CBS News
Huckabee: Romney Shifted on Key Issues The Associated Press
Huckabee Continues Slamming Romney CBS News

Look at it this way: McCain can never win without the conservatives and Huckabee cannot win without the moderates. Thus, they probably have a secret agreement between them to have a ticket with McCain for Pres. to get the moderate vote and Huckabee for VP to get the conservative vote. Either way they both are selling themselves out as most conservatives cannot stomach McCain who seems at times to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. A McCain-Huckabee ticket will flat out lose in the general election. Face it.

The question may be asked, why would these two agree to such an arrangement? Simple, McCain is power-hungry and Huckabee does not want a Mormon in the White House. (Sad, but true.) That, my friends, is the only reason why Huckabee is staying in the race and continuing to tacitly support McCain (his response that he has “never known McCain to be dishonest” when he and everyone else knew that McCain was lying) while trying to undermine Romney.
Vote Mitt Romney if you want conservativism to continue!

Comment by Brad

Here’s an idea considering how many votes Huckabee has with 6 million . Imagine how many votes he could have with Romney’s money. C’mon mitt write Huckabee a big check and lets have a HUCKABOOM!!!

Comment by Tanya Buck

Of course Romney has spent plenty of HIS OWN MONEY. Why, because he cares enough about this country to put his money where his mouth is. I notice, once again that Romney’s only face-time is negative on this feature and McCain is plastered in giant pictures with every possible advantage Fox can give him. It looks obvious to me that Fox is willing to fall in step with the liberal media to give the “Old Boys Club” ie the McCain-Washington insiders the advantage. This is so fishy. Why is the media trying to become “king-makers” or president-makers in this case?? This is what I think: Romney is honest and willing to make a change in Washington and there is a machine in place that is trying desparately to control how this election turns out to keep the machine going. The Washington insiders are deathly afraid that Romney will do some needed house-cleaning!

Comment by Macpharlan

Wow, I cant believe the media… I am sick of the lies. All we have heard from the Media and McCain/Huck is Romney’s negative adds. Chuck Norris was almost comming out of his chair on Hannity/colms saying romney ran 14,000 NEGATIVE adds.

The only ones I had seen of Mitts pointed out the others records, but I did not think that was ‘negative’, now it looks like a neutral party agrees.

And folks please, if anyone is getting slammed down the throat it is McCain. Quite crying on Mitt spending his own money, good for him for spending it on something he believes in. If you want to cry, cry to McCain, his finance reform bill is why you cant get more money from Chuck. And tell me anyone would know Romney without the money he has spent? He has spent a load just to get people past the fact that he is a Mormon and see the issues (even though it looks like some cant see past the first)

I dont think Huck will have the funds to go much deeper, but if he is going to stay into super tuesday he needs to keep going so no one gets the nod, otherwise he will bow out and McCain will lop up his votes. But from the sound of it, he is attacking Mitt, not McCain so I dont think he is siding on the side of Conservatism.

WAY TO GO CARL CAMERON!
Romney’s business acumen? If he spends this much money, and can’t buy the election what does that tell you? This guy doesn’t know when to call it quits.
I’ve been saying this about Romney for the longest time.. but my posts where shot down by some moderators.
It take CARL Cameron to say it and also Huckabee on Campain 2008 C-SPAN.
Oh well, I guess when this is all over… Romney will have to do some more leverage buy outs, lay off some people and tell everyone had sad he was about it.
Way to go CARL CAMERON!

My international friends think this is hillarious! McCain lies, over and over and the media is pushing him to win! Why would the media do this, push a liar to be president?? Because the media can be bought. We can’t.
The USA has a hard enough time being trusted in the world, and a LIAR i going to be elected!!!
Not by those who love our country.

We are voting for Romney. If he is not nominated, our votes will go to the dems…think we are kidding????? We aren’t. We are what the Republican values stand for.

Better wake up, RNC, media.

To Crankey,

I can see that joining this blog is making you cranky. Huckabee is a hypocrite. That is a fact. He is a liberal who spits one liners to the liberal media. A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. A vote for McCain is a vote for Hillary. And frankly, I would rather see Hillary/Obama in the White House than see McLame and Huckaphony in DC. If you are a true conservative, you will stand on your hardcore priciples and look at the facts. Yes, McCain will win the nomination because Huckabee is too selfish not to bow out of the race. Why wouldn’t he when he is vying for a position in the White House. If the Republican Presidency ticket in 2008 is McCain/Huckabee, I will do everything in my power to make sure the Democrtic nominee wins the White House!

Every endorsement the McCain has gotten so far only means more promises to sell you out. McCain will say anything to win. He feels it is his right to be the President because he was a POW. He will sell his soul to the Devil to get elected. Huckaphony is his closest follower. Huckaphony will do anything to make sure McLame becomes the President.

Romney VP or Huckabee VP How strong do you feel about either one?
I’d love to see Gov. Huckabee as VP. McCain talked about reuniting the Party after Super Tuesday, what a better way to do it, by bringing in the Conservative Reps. Although I’d almost not vote at all if it was a McCain Romney ticket.. OMG! I wonder how many others feel that strong against Romney as VP.
A McCain Huckabee ticket would blow away any chance of the Dems winning.. lol.

Gee, I don’t think that it is any of our business how Mr Romney spends HIS money. It’s his. And I’m sure some of the money spent has kept businesses going and televsion stations a little more profitable.

Would you like someone telling you how to spend your money? Telling you what you can or cannot buy? That would be a vote for the democrats and that would also be a vote for Communisium.

I find it refreshing that someone cares and loves his country enough that he would spend HIS OWN MONEY to finance his campagin. Of course there are donations from others, more than any other candidate.

McCain has his had tied when it come to campagin money, by his own McCain-Fiegold Legistration.

A vote for Huckabee is a vote for Huckabee. If Huckabee was not around I would NOT vote for Romney- so stop saying that Huckabee is taking votes from Romney. Most Huckabee supporters would not vote for Romney if they did not have Huckabee to choose from. The media is rigging the election. They only give positive coverage to their ‘chosen one.’ All the others get no coverage or only negative coverage. This election cycle is making me sick because the media is choosing our nominees and not the people of the United States.

More anti-Huckabee drivel from Cameron. Let’s examine Carl’s record thus far:

1. Deliberately misquoted Gov. Huckabee in the S.C. debate in saying he was not running for another Reagan term. WRONG! He actually said he was not running for Bush’s third term (can you blame him?). Nice try, Carl.
2. Asked the most ridiculous, irrelevant question of the campaign when he asked Gov. Huckabee about the role of women in marriage at the S.C. debate. The question was completely designed to marginalize Gov. Huckabee’s candidacy only it had quite the opposite effect. Gov. Huckabee turned the tables on Carl and gave the best response of any of the debates which garnered thunderous applause from the audience. Why am I not surprised that Fox News decided to selectively EDIT OUT THE QUESTION AND RESPONSE during the rebroadcast of the debate? Unbelievable!
3. Now Carl want us to believe Gov. Huckabee has been the most negative advertiser?!!! WRONG AGAIN, Carl. If by some miracle Romney wins the nomination he’s going to have to select his shadow for V.P. because he’s ticked off all the other candidates with all of his blatantly dishonest negative “contrast” ads. Romney outspent McCain and Huckabee by at least 10 to 1 each in Iowa and NH, respectively, with his dishonest ads and still couldn’t win.

Attaboy, Carl! Way to keep it unfair and biased.

Go Gov. Huckabee!

Mitt Romney loves this country and if he wants to spend his own money on his campaign to stay in this race what’s the problem? He can affort to market his campaign and this is a bad thing? I don’t think so.
He has confidence and is willing to campaign dilligantly.
I hear it all the time. “He’s buying the election.” If you believe that statement, stay home on election day an let him “Buy it.”
The people that go to the polls decide who wins regardless of how much money is spent and by whom.
I am not a Mitt Romney supporter but I have to admire his determination and willingness to be heard.

Vote for Romney! He’s got more principles and integrity – never cheated on his wife (McCain has) and will never cheat on his oath of office. He was selected to replace the corrupt management at the Olympics precisely because he has an impecable reputation for honesty.

Romney is the only candidate, now viable, who is for the Marriage amendment. This is the most important issue in this election as it will determine how many children have BOTH A MOM AND A DAD and therefore our economy and millitary strength.

According to the trusted FRC – Family research council, Romney is 100% in agreement with conservative family values. McCain is only 59% in agreement with their list of issues.

I absolutely disdain John McCain and Mike Huckabee! They are the largest pieces of political sh*t I’ve ever seen. I am nearly 30 years old and been a republican my whole life, along with my entire family but if John McCain or Mike Huckabee are my republican choices, I’m going to vote democratic. I will not bring myself to voting for another George W. Bush who is all about the all mighty dollar and done nothing of significant value in almost 8 years except put us into a war we should have never been in. Our Economy is on a downward spiral and after yesterday with Wall Street and all the destruction of the southern states it’s only going to get worse, I believe Mitt Romney is the only one with the ability to bring this economy out of a recession.

McCain has had 25 years in the Senate and is pretty much a democrat. His political speak and back door politics mean he owes a ton of favors in Washington. Huckabee has 11 years as a Governor – and is number six on the Judicial Watch.org’s Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians for his ethics charges. However, Mitt Romney; the non-politician, a highly trained leader in negotiations, business, economics, etc, campaigns against career politicians McCain and Huckabee and everyone thinks he’s somehow the bad guy because he is spending his own money for campaigning.
Look at the issue at hand here people. McCain and Huckabee got everyone looking at little things instead of the real issue. They are the worst picks for President ever. Washington will only get worse with these two in office. If it comes down to these two horrible candidates, I’m not going to just passively vote for them like I did for Bush. I can’t bring myself to doing it again as I know many true conservatist feel. I will just vote for the democrat because at least that way, in 4 years maybe the Republican Party will have sobered up and cleaned up their act.
I hope and pray that the American people can realize what they’re doing by voting for McCain or Huckabee and vote for the non-politician, Mitt Romney in the next caucuses and primaries.
