Huckabee won’t quit
The truth is he may be able to come in second in several southern and conservative states including Ga., Al., Mo., Ok, and his home state of Arkansas. He could even squeak out wins if things go right. Every vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain, or at least that is what Mitt Romney himself has said.
Do not forget!! Out of the 15 primaries, 5 caucuses and 1 GOP convention that takes place 2/5 –10 are winner take all but in 11 contests delegates are awarded proportionately to the top three. Mitt and Huck will have some delegates even if they win no states.
Romney surrogates have been blasting Huckabee in many of those states and others. Publicly Romney is focused on McCain but in several conservative states where Huckabee is popular the Romney camp is attacking Huckabee too.
Huckabee was asked if a poor Super Tuesday showing might end his candidacy today and said not only does he not want to quit he can’t! His explanation is that
“it’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog”
and he’s got plenty left. Furthermore Huckaboomers want him to stay in and Huck himself believes that if republicans don’t pick him they should pick McCain and not Romney
Huckabee’s attacks on Romney have many speculating that the former Ark Gov is auditioning for the McCain veep spot.

The Republicans are making a huge mistake by jumping on McCain’s band wagon. Of course, they are betting that McCain can beat Hillary based on current polls. Such a beat may provide them a cushy job on the Cabinet. But the election is far away and once McCain begins to blow his fuse a few more times like he did at the last debate, a Democrat in the White House is the end result. Romney is surely more polished, more impressive on the economy and can clearly stand up to the Dynamic Duo of Obama/Hillary 08. I can not seeing voting for McCain for the simple fact that he will bomb every debate against this team. Finally, the party of values has had a hard time getting a candidate who has been divorced. Go Romney. Huckabee get out now and break bread with Romney. How about Mitt and Huck 08!
Huckabee shouldn’t quit. This is NOT a 2 man race as so many in the media are trying to make it. A “Thank you” to FOXnews for continuing to report on Mike. His message rings true with so many of us. My vote in IL for Mike Huckabee on Tuesday will be a vote for Mike Huckabee. PERIOD.
Huckabee is not runing for President. He is running for Mitt-Killer. When did this guy get into bed with Juan McCain? I cannot understand for the life of me why Huckabee is not attacking the front runner? Instead he guns for Romney who will lose if Huckabee doesn’t quit siphoning off the social voters. What a disaster for the GOP. Huckabee is a petty, mean-spirited, hateful, vindictive, spiteful man. I would not vote for him if he were running against Stalin.
I imagine Huck will stay in through about February 12 – the Virginia and Maryland primaries. That would represent 226 of the 1070 delegates remaining after Super Tuesday when you throw in Louisiana, Washington, and Kansas (on February 9th). After that Romney may be very close to statistically eliminated but Huck most likely will be by that time.

Paychecks for Rush, Hannity, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham and the rest
Here are the dots and they’re pretty easy to connect:
These are all direct excerpts from Wikipedia
1. Bain Capital LLC is a Boston, Massachusetts-based private equity firm founded in 1984 by Mitt Romney, T. Coleman Andrews III and Eric Kriss; all partners in the consulting firm Bain & Company. Romney was the Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007. Bain Capital was originally conceived as a combined equity start-up and leveraged buyout fund, an innovative strategy at the time.
2. On November 16, 2006, Clear Channel Communications agreed to be acquired by Bain Capital and Thomas Lee Partners for nearly $19 billion
3. With 1,200 stations, Clear Channel is the largest radio station group owner in the United States, both by number of stations and by revenue. According to BIA Financial Network, Clear Channel Radio recorded more than $3.5 billion in revenues in 2005, more than $1 billion more than the number-two group owner, CBS Radio
4. Since the 2004 Republican National Convention, Romney had been discussed as a potential 2008 presidential candidate.[66] On January 3, 2007, two days before he stepped down as governor of Massachusetts, Romney filed to form a presidential exploratory committee with the Federal Election Commission.[67][68] On February 13, 2007 Romney formally announced his candidacy for the 2008 Republican nomination for president.
5. News talk stations
News talk stations owned by Clear Channel usually have a standard slate of hosts. The morning show is usually local, with other timeslots filled by local and syndicated hosts. Programs that appear on many Clear Channel talk stations include Glenn Beck Program, The Rush Limbaugh Show, Dr. Laura, and Coast to Coast AM, all of which are affiliated with Premiere Radio Networks in some fashion. The Sean Hannity Show, The Savage Nation, The Mark Levin Show and Dave Ramsey are non-Premiere shows that air on many (if not most) Clear Channel stations. Limbaugh is almost universally carried on Clear Channel stations in markets where the company has a news talk station, with the exception of markets such as Washington, DC and San Francisco, CA, where ABC Radio (which previously was Limbaugh’s home network) has a news talk station in the market.
While most of Clear Channel’s news/talk stations carry some combination of Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage and Noory, this is not always the case. Many stations (particularly in the larger markets) like KFI, KOA and WLW broadcast a lineup with significant local programming.
Clear Channel owns no all-news radio stations. Almost all of Clear Channel’s primary talk stations are affiliated with Fox News Radio for national news.
My Comments: I would rather nominate someone who’s campaign barely had enough money.
In my opinion, this is a major conflict of interest. We are talking Billions of dollars here and the timing of the Bain Capital buy of Clear Channel Communications is more than suspicious. You decide!
Why should Huckabee quit? The reason for the success Huckabee will have on Super Tuesday is that economic conservatives thought social conservatives would tag along with a candidate who said he supports their key concerns, no matter what his past long-held positions have been (Romney). That shows the importance that economic conservatives give to the protection of life and the traditional family.
Romney should quit. Then Huckabee would be the conservative choice versus McCain. After Super Tuesday, Romney will have spent $38 million of his own money along with a lot of other people’s money and will still be significantly behind McCain and Huckabee. I like Mike!
I can’t believe people are still behind Huckabee. Haven’t we already been through why he’s not the conservative in the field, or have we forgotten so soon!?! He raised taxes and increased government, he’s a global warming fanatic just like John McCain, he called the President arrogant for the Iraq war, he wants to close Gitmo (then he wants to keep it open, but make it tougher on the inmates), he doesn’t have a clue when it comes to foreign policy, he continues to run with the lies that McCain has made up about Romney, he doesn’t think we should punish the children of illegal aliens but in private he says he wants to ship them all out, he has a populist message of redistributing wealth, and he’s in bed with McCain. These two guys aren’t conservatives. Romney has taken the most conservative stances out of all of the remaining candidates. A vote for Huckabee or McCain is a vote for defeat in November – if I was a betting man, I’d guarantee it!!
I think Mike would make a great president! He has my vote!
Huckabee is a man of respect and honor that I would vote for if McCain would not be in the lead. We must not continue to allow the Republican Party to be overrun by those of McCain’s like. No londer should we vote for Huckabee giving the nomination to McCain. Vote for Romney that is our only chance to ensure the conservative moment may stay alive in our party. Mr. Huckabee is there an agenda to you staying in the race and possibly becoming McCain’s VP nominee or on his cabinet; truely that is not of respect and honor to split the conservative vote and sacrifice Our Republican Conservative Party for your own agenda !
Which proves once and for all that he is not the conservative he claims to be! If he was, he would want a conservative Republican to be the party’s nominee.
His bad feelings and jealousy towards Romney will not let him get out of the race until he has helped John McCain win!
A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE IS A VOTE FOR MCCAIN: PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!
Huckabee wants his “Followers” to vote McCain instead of Romney just proves he is no conservative. I lose more credibility with Huckabee on a daily basis.
What a total hypocrite!!! Proves why all the conservative talk radio host have been touting Romney and bashing Huckabee. Because Huckabee is a liberal like McCain.
Huckabee supporters please wake up!!!!!!! McCain and Huckabee will be known as the two who destroyed conservative republicans.
Huckabee HATES Romney for all the things Huckabee is not. Another now to be added is because Romney is a conservative and Huckabee is not. And this is by his own admission.
ROMNEY is 2008!!!!!!!!!!!! A vote for Romney is a vote for the conservative party.
Why should he quit?He has better numbers than Romney as I sit here in two states an only 3 Percentage points behind McCain in one of those. Why should he throw votes to Romney, because, Rush ,laura Ann and Sean, would benefit from the Clear Channel????….These are the people that stand proud as Conservatives and tear down the Liberal Media for electing presidents with their influence…They’re doing the very same thing in the name of selfishness and greed. There’s a reason for this folks,You see in the State Of Mass.,people were told By Romney that he favored abortion, gay rights, and a number of other liberal issues. He’s an easy mark, and a deceiving individual that always says what you want to hear.Ask the lefties of Mass. They the Limbaug’s,and Coulter, and Ingrahm, and especially Hannity, are not Conservatives as one should be known,They are greedy and selfish,Me,Me people, that are pretenders.Romney will if he hasn’t already greased their palms with promises thru Clear channel
With Huckabee, they’d have to earn it …..I don’t know if any of them have the ability to do that, they’ve been running in the rut too long.
Romney as pointed out, onthe AFA voter guide is more liberal than McCain, and in my estimation running neck and neck with Hillary….there’s a lot of people listening to Rush amd Sean, with their heads in the Sand…These guys are interested in #1,and need you to vote for Romney, for their benefit……….VOTE HUCKABEE
Huckabee is nothing more than a hired “assassin”,paid with the Vice-Presidency to destroy Mitt Romney’s chances of beating his pal McCain. If evangelicals would vote with their heads and not their souls they would not be insuring the victory of a man who viciously attacked evangelical leaders not too long ago,and manuevered with the rest of the Gang of 14 to derail conservative judicial nominees who were pro-life.Added to that -McCain has indicated he would not have selected Judge Alito as his nominee to the Supreme Court.Huckabee can’t win-period!Stop McCain and vote for Romney!
More of a Question than a comment. What position has McCain promised Huckabee and how is he using church property without loosing them tax exemtions?
Don’t count Huckabee out! This man doesn’t know the word QUIT and there are many supporters that feel that he should not Quit.
Thank you Fox News for having Mike Huckabee, we’d like to hear more of what he has to say!
go Huckabee I hope he gets it. McCain is just to old.
Huck doesn’t care about the republican party. He cares only for himself. Rush was right about him and McAmnesty. They are going to ruin this party.
Why print such non sense as a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain?
This is an election, A vote for a candidate is a vote for a candidate. Every American should be able to vote for their choice. The media should report more news and less spin.
By the way, is Fox planning to keep the slogan “We report you decide”? Or are they planning to change to something more honest?
Why should Huckabee quit? He is by all “factual” accounts still in the race in spite of your efforts Carl.
I have a great idea. Why don’t you ask Romney to quit? I can see the headlines tomorrow – Romney won’t quit!
Pull it together guys your biased is getting way out of hand for so-called “fair and balanced” reporting.
I LOVE YOU HUCKABEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Vote for Huck is a vote for Huck! If people wanted to vote for Romney as their first choice then that is their decision. I don’t know anyone who would give their vote to Romney if Huck wasn’t running because Huck voters want a candidate they can relate to and is a straight shooter! Romney is too shady with his dealings with Bain Capital and their buy out of 3Com that could potentially compromiseUS security interest with China. For those that don’t know Huawei Technologies who is partnering with Bain in the buyout of 3Com is run by the former leader of China’s People Liberation Army and previously been investigated by the CIA for telecommunication deals with Saddam Hussein. Huawei Technologies is believed to have violated U.N. sanctions against Iraq by constructing fiber optic links for Saddam Hussein’s air defense systems. How come this isn’t getting reported in the news? Oh yeah that’s right- Mitt’s company OWNS the media! Why doesn’t Hannity reveal that Clear Channel –owned by Bain Capital – signs his 3 year multi-million dollar contract? What a conflict of interest! And how com you are refusing to list my post? Fair and balanced – I don’t think so! You guys re operating like Taylor political machine in Mr. Smithgoes to Washington.
If Huckabee has anything to do with a GOP presidential campaign after Super Tuesday, the Democrats are going to make it look like Romney was taking it pretty easy on him.
They have been holding fire, waiting to make the most of an easy kill. And this summer when the moment seems just right, they’ll start off with his sellout to the tobacco industry and all of his ethics violations and his misuse of public office for personal greed.
The “wedding” gift registry he used to shake people down after leaving the governor’s office won’t seem like a big deal at first.
But Democrats will expand on the picture of greed, bringing up the Jonesboro school shooting and how Huckabee promised survivors no one would profit from it, only to cut a book deal a few days later and reject pleas to share the proceeds in the form of scholarships.
Use of another Huckabee book will start establishing his dishonesty along with his greed, when Democrats start having fun with what they’ll portray as his pretense that dieting took 110 pounds off him, rather than bariatric surgery or some similar procedure.
At this point some fringe blog will use public doubt about Huckabee’s character to seek traction for a charge that will attract heavy web site traffic when played correctly: the dog torture incident.
Everyone knows there is something seriously wrong in a family when a teen old enough to be a Boy Scout counselor tortures or helps torture a dog: It was hung by a wire, stoned and had its throat slit.
Democrats will say it is especially wrong when the crime is minimized and the father steps between the son and a state police investigation, then fires the guy who would not immediately back off. The guy who says he suffered the injustice loves an audience and liberal mainstream media will be only too happy to provide him one at the perfect time. Juicy!
Then they will take Huckabee to task for granting convicted criminals 1,033 pardons and commutations of sentence – about twice as many acts of amnesty as his three predecessors in the governors office combined.
After Huckabee pressured a parole board to release a sex offender early, the rapist went on to murder a mother in Missouri. And people who don’t have a special loyalty to Huckabee are going to be outraged by this as it gets more and more attention.
He pardoned or commuted the sentences of 669 criminals, including 11 murderers. And this time instead of media playing down the evangelical connection, it is going to be played up.
The way Democrats will portray it, criminals who said they were saved will have used pastors to get special consideration from Huckabee. And you know they’ll ask if the pastors and Huckabee got anything in return, and they’ll ask in a way that implies corruption. (Remember all the ethics violations and gift demands?)
Liberal mainstream media may wait for fringe blogs to raise these subjects, but then they’ll report on what the blogs have been saying with glee. It won’t be pretty.
I have to say that I used to only watch Fox News. However, after this election, I won’t be a fox faithful anymore. Their bias to Romney has been more than I can take. Between the Forum that glorified Romney, Hannity who has glorified Romney, and the negation of all other non-Romney candidates, such as McCain, Huckabee, and even Ron Paul, has made me not trust them anymore.
I feel like the Cable News think that they’re freedom of the Press is supposed to be their freedom to push their personal agenda. Something needs to be done to ensure a free unbiased media, because now you can’t even watch the news without getting a spin. You’ve lost me Fox, I hope you know that.
Carl you’re a class act. Thanks for your consistent, fair reporting through the years. Many of us believe Huckabee is the strongest conservative and best hope for both the GOP and the nation over the next 4 years. I am both a non-evangelical, and someone with a Biology background- hence, I believe strongly in evolution. Yet like so many other Huckabee supporters- we are not threatened by his personal beliefs; rather, we are inspired by his convictions and candor, as well as his experience. And Mike Huckabee is in this to WIN! And I don’t believe he’s trying to be VP- how many Presidents want a VP who is a better speaker than they are, and likes to talk?! Really, Mike Huckabee has done so much with so little the past year it’s amazing. So many of his supporters come from working families who are giving all they can because they believe in his message and leadership. Best regards- Steve
I decided today after the fox news interview with Huckabee, I will vote for him. He shouldn’t quit.
Huckabee is sleezy in every sense of the word. The fact he’s on the Top Ten Most Corrupt Politicians only solidifies it.

Huckabee and his supporters have spouted so much anti-Mormon rhetoric (how Christianlike?) that he is only in this race to stop Romney.
Using religion as a tool in an election is pathetic and downright un-American)
A vote for Huckabee is a role for McCain and the demise of conservatism.
Fred Thompson better be VP. McCain needs a CONSERVATIVE VP, not a liberal who says Reagan is over……he better start kissing Hilary’s rear, they a liberal match made in heaven!!!
Huck is in it to be the Top Dog, and that is all. Don’t underestimate the coming Huckaboom!!
Simple Facts, Huckabee has 20% of the vote using 6 Million. Romney Has 20% of the vote using 60 Million. Mitt write Huckabee a check and lets have a Hucka MEGA BOOM!!!
Mike Huckabee believes what he is saying about all the issues. there are real differences between him and the other two front-runners. Nationally, Huckabee and romney are polling neck-and-neck. But I don’t hear anyone calling for Romney to quit???
The only 3 states Romney has won so far were either his backyard (Michigan where he grew up before he suddenly became a resident of MA), or heavily Mormon states like Wyoming and Nevada. And Romney’s had to spend $86,000,000 just to get those votes! Huckabee has almost as many delegates, but only had to spend $9 million to get them. Who’s the fiscal conservative??
Questions of the day: Should Romney drop out of the race?
I was going to vote for Huckabee but I will not now, I believe Huckabee hates Mormons so much that he cann’t see that McCain could destroy not only the Republican party but lead this country into a depresion. I’m getting tired of Huckabee saying that McCain is an honest man, and I don’t think I’m alone in saying that. I’m not saying I’m going to vote for Romney, but when McCain, and Huckabee talk about Romney having alot of money, who does McCain, and Huckabee think pays their salary in the tax money. I’m getting very tired of McCain, and Huckabee sounding like John Edwards, I thought Republicans wanted people to reach the American dream. McCain, and Huckabee will not be getting my vote, and I’m not sure if Romney will either. If not I plan to write in a vote for Newt Gingrich that way at least I’ll know I voted for a conservative!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike’s attacks may be causing some to think he’s auditioning, but they’re causing this voter to think that he’s singing for his supper. He looks and quacks like a Democratic shill, set up to serve as a spoiler. He was with the Jimmy Carter wing of the SBC.
He gave a blank check to his Democratic legislature, leaving not one significant conservative accomplishment to show for his governorship. The DNC gave the green light to its people to help bail him out in New Hampshire, when his bank was empty.
And now he’s ensuring that Clinton can run against the candidate she wants to run against, the one for whom Hillary’s oppo shop has been sharpening its knives for two years. Mr. Cameron, you know how paranoid and venal the politicians and their hirelings can be. When covering the paranoid and venal, be as paranoid and venal, then, as the truth is. Tell us the ugly stuff also, please.
We can all agree that a vote for Huckabee divides the Republican base (e.g. social conservatives who would not otherwise support a liberal McCain) and all can agree that a divided Republican base helps McCain, correct? Any disagreement on this point?? For example, in Florida, Huckabee got 200,000+/- votes. McCain beat Romney by 95,000+/- votes (45,000-50,000 cuban votes who favored McCain’s amnisty position). If the base united around Romney in Florida, McCain looses by 105,000+/- votes. The “effect” of a vote for Huckabee on Super Tuesday (just like it was in Florida) is that the base WILL be divided and McCain will win enough delegates to make a nominee of any other person in the Republican party almost impossible (e.g. Huckabee is out and could also take out or hurt Romney). Any disagreements here????? Folks — a little straight talk — the Republican base is playing with fire, and we only have 2 days to right the ship. If the base is divided, McCain gets the nomination and Clinton or Obama take the Whitehouse in ‘08. United we stand, divided we fall. Republicans — please consider these facts on Super Tuesday and ask yourself do you want Romney or Obama/Clinton in the Whitehouse in ‘08?? This is the real choice on Super Tuesday and the liberal media does not want the Republican base to see this. I am confident that the Republican base is smarter than the liberal media!!!

Please learn to use words properly if you’re going to post them somewhere to be viewed in public. First of all, it’s winner takes all, not winner take all. And in the second paragraph, “Out of the 15 primaries, 5 caucuses and 1 GOP convention that takes place 2/5,” you use the wrong form of the verb take (again). I realize that “1 GOP convention that takes place 2/5″ is appropriate, but “1 GOP Convention” isn’t the only subject in that sentence. Since you have multiple subjects (15 primaries, 5 cauceses and 1 GOP convention), that’s the same thing as using one plural noun. And, a plural noun needs a plural verb- “Take,” in this instance, not “takes”.
Not so hot on your SAT verbal, were you?

A vote for Huckabee is a vote for Huckabee not for someone else. He is being robbed of votes because every single talkshow host and news source is trying to make the people believe that he is not running. He is serious and so are we. Huckabee worked in AR as a governor for 10.5 years and kept the budget balanced every year, cut taxes, and ended up with a surplus. WE need a man like that in the Oval office who will get us out of this recession. He had to work with a legislative body made up of 90% Democrats and yet still acomplished all of the above. Go Huckabee!!
Carl, I can’t believe you said “a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain.” Where is your journalistic integrity? Of course you followed up with “at least that is what Mitt Romney himself said”, as if that is some political authority!!! Your subtle little jabs at Huckabee are so biast. Since you can’t present the complete truth in a fair and balanced way, I will do it for you.
Huckabee is leading in Missouri, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas.
He is in a tight race in Alabama. I have not seen any recent polls, but have heard he is doing well in Oklahoma and Minnesota
Missouri is winner take all with 58 delegates. The latest ARG polls out
just yesterday shows Huckabee leading 31-29 over McCain with Romney at 27.
Mike Huckabee leads the RCP avg of polls in Georgia as well as in a the most recent Insider Advantage survey. Of course he has Arkansas.
Also a brand new poll from WSMV-TV shows Huckabee leading in Tennessee 24-23 over McCain.
He will also pick up delegates in most of the rest of the states.
RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A THREE MAN RACE, BUT WE MAY ONLY HAVE A TWO MAN RACE AFTER SUPER TUESDAY, JOHN MCCAIN AND MIKE HUCABEE!!!!
A vote for Mike Huckabee is actually (hold onto your chairs)….a vote for Mike Huckabee! Never has a guy had so much (money, support from talk radio blowhards) and done so little as Mitt Romney. The fact is the American people are looking for someone authentic, who truly stands for something not just a guy who will say anything to become President. This truly is a 2 person race: Gov. Huckabee and Sen. McCain.
Go Gov. Huckabee!
I like that Huckabee is staying in the race and I especially like his conservative social stances. However, I am concerned that he would not be able to handle our country’s national security. I almost like McCain as President for this reason and Huckabee as Vice President to act as a moral compass for the country. Why should I vote for Huckabee over McCain with regards to national security?
Huckabee, you are too old for tantrums, don’t you think? Get out while some people still like you. You are showing too much of who you really are, and that’s not good. Accept defeat like a man, you cry baby!
While I support Huckabee, I am becoming increasingly concerned his continued presence in this race will lead McCain to win the race. I can not accept that, as I feel McCain is at best an independent if not a closet democrat, and so my full support will go to Romney unless a miracle happens on Super Tuesday.
Good luck Mike!
Sometimes you have to wonder if some Republicans know who these guys are? McCain has shown he gets enjoyment rubbing elbows with liberal Democrats and joining them to sponsor bad legislation (McCain-Feingold – an assault on the 1st amendment, McCain-Kennedy, amnesty for illegals) even to the point of pondering jumping party lines to join the Democrats in 2001. And, this is the guy who is leading in the Republican campaign. Give me a break!!! Please!
Huckabee will show that he will throw our current commander in chief under the bus to get votes using the unpopular Iraq military operation to bash the President. His comments on Bush having an “arrogant bunker mentality” on foreign policy is exactly what you would expect from a liberal politician pandering for votes. Wait a minute. He is supposed to be a conservative? Speaking as an evangelical Christian, I follow the wisdom that ‘you will know them by their fruit’. Huckabee’s fruit shows that he is a pandering politician who is lacking in conservative principles.

Before decisions get made in Washington — and even before most politicians open their mouths about key issues — there are polls. Lots of them. Whether splashed across front pages or commissioned by candidates for private analysis, the statistical sampling of public opinion is a constant in political life.
We may believe that polls tell us what Americans are thinking. But polls also gauge the effectiveness of media spin — and contribute to it. Opinion polls don’t just measure; they also manipulate, helping to shape thoughts and tilting our perceptions of how most people think.
Polls routinely invite the respondents to choose from choices that have already been prepared for them. Results hinge on the exact phrasing of questions and the array of multiple-choice answers, as candid players in the polling biz readily acknowledge.
“Slight differences in question wording, or in the placement of the questions in the interview, can have profound consequences,” Gallup executive David Moore wrote a few years ago in his book “The Superpollsters.” He observed that poll outcomes “are very much influenced by the polling process itself.” And in turn, whatever their quality, polling numbers “influence perceptions, attitudes and decisions at every level of our society.”
In the process, opinions are narrowed into a few pre-fabricated slots. The result is likely to be mental constriction in the guise of illumination.
“Opinion-polling as practiced in the United States … presents itself as a means of registering opinions and expressing choices,” media critic Herbert Schiller noted three decades ago. His assessment of polling remains cogent today: “It is a choice-restricting mechanism. Because ordinary polls reduce, and sometimes eliminate entirely, the … true spectrum of possible options, the possibilities and preferences they express are better viewed as ‘guided’ choices.”
Mainstream polls are so much a part of the media wallpaper that we’re apt to miss how arbitrarily they limit people’s sense of wider possibilities. And we may forget that those who pay the pollsters commonly influence the scope of ideas and attitudes deemed worthy of consideration.
In his book “The Mind Managers,” Schiller pointed out: “Those who dominate governmental decision-making and private economic activity are the main supports of the pollsters. The vital needs of these groups determine, intentionally or not, the parameters within which polls are formulated.”
When the U.S. government takes military action, instant polls help to propel the rapid-fire cycles of spin. After top officials in Washington have engaged in a well-coordinated media blitz during the crucial first hours of warfare, the TV networks tell us that most Americans approve — and the quick poll results may seem to legitimize and justify the decision to begin the bloodshed.
In the case of the Bush administration’s plans to launch an all-out attack on Iraq, the U.S. military build-up in the Persian Gulf region has run parallel to a sustained propaganda campaign on the home front during the past several months. Even so, the extent of public support is foggy.
At the end of September, a murky picture emerged from an article in the Washington Post by the director of the big-bucks Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. “Almost all national surveys this year,” Andrew Kohut wrote, “have found a broad base of potential support for using military force to rid the world of Saddam Hussein.” Yet such generalities can be deceiving. Kohut reported that the Pew Center’s latest poll “found that 64 percent generally favor military action against Iraq, but that withers to 33 percent if our allies do not join us.”
According to a recent CBS News poll, 51 percent of Americans say that Hussein was involved in the 9-11 attacks. But there’s no evidence for that assertion. So, as in countless other cases, the failures of news media to clearly convey pivotal matters of fact — and the unwillingness of journalists to challenge deceptive claims from the White House — boost the poll numbers for beliefs that lack a factual basis.
Polls may seem to provide clarity in a confusing world. But all too often they amount to snapshots taken from slanted angles.
The dirty little secret has not changed since this race started. Gov. Huckabee hates Mormons and will do all he can to destroy Gov. Romney just because Romney is a Mormon. Elements of the Evangelical Christian movement have invested too much time and effort in bashing Mormons. For many Evangelicals, Sunday worship includes 75% bible studies and 25% “hate the Mormons”. Some Evangelical Ministers have put doctrine and their own reputations on the line in their denouncement of the evil Mormons. Now that policy is coming back to haunt them. The fact is, not only are Mormons Christian, they are good Christians and good people. They are good neighbors, good citizens, and leaders in their respective communities. These Evangelical leaders can not put aside their own pride long enough to recognize that Mitt Romney is a wonderfull man. These bigots who want Romney destroyed are the Sanhedrin of our times and Huckabee is their Pontius Pilate.
I think it is apparent that 50% of the United States has an IQ under 100! I cannot believe so many of you just parrot whatever the media says. Romney is NOT a conservative.
Those of you spouting false facts have not done your own homework. Let’s compare apples with apples. MA has been a historically high taxing state. In his 4 years as Governor, his taxes and fees rose 4%. In 10.5 years AR taxes rose .2% under Mike Huckabee’s tenure. The fact that so many of the increases in MA were called fees should fool no one. Those fees were mainly aimed at small business, thus the reason business starts declined during his tenure.
With the modest increas in AR, Mike Huckabee took the public school ranking from #49 to #9 in the nation. He rebuilt the roads in his state.
Under Romney, the school ranking fell in MA and he never did anything for the vital infrastructure.
Romney has changed his mind on virtually every issue. The fact that Bain, his company, just bought Clear Channel, the radio stations of Rush, Sean, Laura, and Bill should tell you how desperate he is to BUY the White House.
Doesn’t it offend any of you small minded people that the money he is spending to get elected shows what he would do with the taxpayer money?
The only conservative with values is Mike Huckabee.
I wish more people could think for themselves. A vote for Mike is a vote for Mike. Since he is far more conservative, and since Romney cannot take the South, Romney should drop out and let the ONLY candidate who has run against the Clinton machine 4 times and WON get the nomination….Mike is the ONLY one who knows how to beat the Clintons.
THINK, people!!!
fellow true conservatives. i just found an interesting fact on the web. how many of you know what huckabee’s wife’s maiden name is?
would you believe MCCAIN?
could there be some connection there? maybe a distant relative of mcnasty?
i pulled up Janet Huckabee website and there it was.
maybe that’s why hucster isn’t pulling out. something to think about.
janet huckabee’s maiden name is get this “MCCAIN”. Hm. Something to think about.
could it be, she and mccnasty are related?
Huckabee should get out of this race! He knows he has no chance of winning. He has won only one state. People who vote for Huckabee are throwing away their vote and giving it to McCain. Hucklebee is not as conservative as one may think. Anyone who paroles or pardons convicted murderers is not a conservative. He also allowed the Mexican consulate to be in Arkansas for 1 dollar a year and gave in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. That does not sound conservative! He also raised taxes!! If that is what you think a conservative is, please keep him as far away from this conservative as possible. Mccain and Hucklebee would have no chance in the general election against Hillary or Barrack. Imagine how old McCain would look standing next to Obama. Huckabee is good with one liners and that is about it. Don’t listen to the polls that say McCain is the only one who could beat the Democrats come November. These are the same polls that said only Guliani could do that two months ago. Hucklebee is the Ross Perot of this election. He is staying in to play spoiler! He is helping to destroy the conservative part of the Republican party.
If you still want to vote for McCain or throw your vote away by voting for Huckabee just remember McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman, the keating 5, being one of the only two Republicans voting against the Bush tax cuts. Trust me you may have forgotten about it but, the liberal news media hasn’t. If Mccain gets it they will remind us all of how liberal Mccain really is. We don’t stand a chance of keeping the white house if our nominee is McCain or Hucklebee. Myself and like many others will stay home in November and not vote. I would rather have a Democrat destroy this country before I would allow “in name only” Republicans like McCain or Huckabee.
Here you go with conspiracy theories! Janet Huckabee is not related to John McCain in any way, unless you want to consider that everyone in the world is at least 33rd cousins.
Evangelical Christians do not hate Mormons. They do believe they are misguided in some of their beliefs, but that does not equate to hate. Evangelical Christians believe they have the right to worship any way they want, but at their own peril. Only God can judge any of us.
Churches are hospitals for sinners, not havens for saints. The true Evangelical Christian recognizes that we are saved by grace because none of us could be saved without it.
We do not, however believe we can be a God or have our own spirit planet. We do not believe that we can pray our ancestors into Baptism, either. There are many differences between Mormons and traditional Christians. Mormons have some wonderful traits, among those are the focus on family and social programs for their members.
We don’t HATE any religion. Get a grip!
Very sad how everything is spun to the will of the puppet masters…
Clinton = puppet
Obama = marionette (nicer puppet)
McCain = puppet
Romney = puppet
Paul = clearly not a puppet
Huckabee = clearly not a puppet = not beholden to anyone but “We the People”
Puppets promise change but keep polarization and gridlock for a reason. The gridlock is an excuse for keeping things as they are (i.e. puppet masters in control with big power and big money) that our countries citizens will roll their eyes to and accept. The puppet-masters control Hannity, Rush, & all of the conservative talking heads who are marginalizing Huckabee (and Paul for that matter). Ask yourself why Huckabee and Paul don’t get air-time during the debates to talk substance when McCain & Romney get to bicker back and forth for 20 minutes on nonsense…
Huckabee will take our country back to “We the People” which is a HUGE threat to the puppet masters. Huckabee wants to make government finances transparent with the Fair Tax (no more 66,000 lines of tax code that benefits who exactly?). Huckabee will build the border fence, build our military, build our infrastructure, build our economy… but the strings have to be cut in order for “We the People” to get our county back.
The media = the strings that the puppet masters use to control the puppet show. People need to wake up. Go to http://www.mikehuckabee.com and give that site 20 minutes… look at his stand on the issues or watch is videos. This man is a great communicator who will take our nation back to “We the People”
I am for Huckabee all the way!!!
I will not compromise my Core Values for any candidate!!
I would never vote for Romney!! Never Never Never!!
Romney thinks he can buy this election. He and his “conservative talking-heads” think they can coerce us Real conservatives into voting for him—they are all DEAD WRONG!!
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!
VOTE FOR HUCKABEE!!!! Your vote does and will count!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that mike should stay in the race until the very end. I am voting for mike and know he is the best choice out of anyone else in the race.
Go Mike!
To all of you brainwashed conservatives who have bought into the Party lie, not to mention Mitt’s lies and distortions, let me ask you a question(ya’ll seem to be sooooo smart). If Mike Huckabee Is a Liberal , then why is he pulling votes from Willard instead of McCain?
I am an Iowa voter who voted for Huckabee. I would do so again anytime. Romney was my second choice. I chose Huck over Mitt because Mitt went ballistic and savaged Huck! He did not need to get nasty. Now, Huck is paying him back in his own coins!
If Mitt were not so arrogant, he would have had his people talk to Huck’s people rather than going nuclear in Iowa. That, I fear was the beginning of the end for Mitt!
This election is indeed an eye-opener! The Republican Establishment–and their talking heads–O’Reilly, Rush, Sean Hannity, Laura Inghram, Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, etc-are responsible for this mess (I personally stopped listening or watching them). They like to use religion and religious people to get power but once someone who is truly religious tries to get power, they slam him. The liberal media was nicer to Huck than the conservative talking heads. I voted for Huck to spite the Republican establishment. Now I support Huck staying in the race to derail their attempt to impose Mitt on us. if McCain (my third choice) wins the nomination, so be it!
Dear Mitt: Now it turns out you need Huckabee and his supporters, even if you trashed him, his record and his supporters, and got the Club for Growth and talk radio to smear him.
He splits the conservative vote, but you said he was a liberal. Are the voters stupid, or is it time to apologize?
You made Huckabee and his supporters mad enough to stay in this right to the end. And they know once past the first ballot, anything can happen in Minneapolis.
Or you can try to undo the damage your campaign has done, and start saying things like “Governor Huckabee’s conservative voice has been very valuable in this campaign… ” or “Mike Huckabee’s conservative platform on ending the income tax has been a big step in the right direction… ”. You need to get your supporters to start saying the same thing.
Once you have unslimed him, then maybe Huckabee can consider what he can do for your campaign. This isn’t from him or his campaign, just an observation on how campaigns really work. See you in Minneapolis.
OK Gang, I had to back a few emails in my history, but I found the immigration article regarding Huck. As I repeatedly stated, I don’t dislike Huck, and think he is a good man, but facts are facts, so here you go. And remember, I’ve been tracking all the candidates and am making informed decisions regarding the immigration issue, the one that’s killing America:
Leaders Converge on Iowa to Expose Huckabee!
December 26, 2007
Contact: William Gheen, Press@alipac.us, (866) 329-3999
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is launching an effort in Iowa today to warn GOP voters about the pro Amnesty stances of McCain, Giuliani, and especially Mike Huckabee who is trying to deceive voters with a tough immigration stance on his website that excludes his comments to Fox News on December 9 where he says illegal aliens can return within days!
“Our team will expose the Huckster and the endorsement of lone Minuteman Jim Gilchrist which will not save him from the truth,” says William Gheen of ALIPAC. “Eighty four leaders have signed a letter rebuking Gilchrist and Huckabee for their support of a touchback Amnesty plan modeled after the Pence plan. Within a few days, most GOP voters will know about this trick.”
ALIPAC’s William Gheen, Peter Gadiel of 9/11 Families for a Secure America, and Daniel Smerglio of Voice of the People USA (Hazleton, PA) will be setting up a command center tonight, conducting media interviews, and calling into 42,000 Republican households to warn them about the Huckabee touchback Amnesty plan.
Leaders of other organizations that have signed the letter will be joining them as will volunteers. Mike Huckabee’s poll numbers have started to fall after the public hears the news and scrutinizes his record.
“Mike Huckabee has one of the worst records on immigration enforcement of any of the candidates,” says Gheen. “We just hope the public can be adequately warned before they vote!”
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is a multi racial, multi party, national organization dedicated to the enforcement of our existing immigration laws and secure borders. For more information and to view the video of Huckabee’s “illegals back in a day” plan, please visit http://www.alipac.us

Stay the course, Huck. I know you have an uphill battle with all the biased media propaganda, but you are our best choice. I can’t trust Romney, who ran as pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, and under whose watch allowed Massachusetts to ordain gay marriage. I know that he has a financial interest in the very broadcasting companys that are bashing you. I just pray that those who have true pro-life, pro-family values open their eyes, see the truth and vote their convictions. I don’t want to live in a country where the media can buy the election. The election belongs to we, the people, and if we allow ourselves to be deceived by the media, we’ve basically sold our vote. My vote is too valuable to cast if for anyone other than the man who will stand up for the most helpless among us, consistently. You have a proven track record, and by your wisdom, Arkasas prospered under your leadership. The education system, economy, and infrastructure all improved. Because of your leadership, marriage was officially defined as between a man and a woman, and you left the office with very high approval ratings. You’ve shown you can beat the Clintons by beating their candidates in their own backyard of Arkansas. I’m not letting any pollster tell me that you can’t beat the Clintons. Your own history proves that you can. You were voted by Time magazine as one of the top 5 governors in the nation. That is quite an endorsement. You’ve gotten more votes per dollar than any other candidate in the republican race. I trust you with my tax dollars.
A vote for Huckabee is not a vote for McCain. Rightpundits has exposed this lie.
Huckabee is actually helping Romney in the South.
Mitt’s a phony and only Mormon’s are speaking out for him. Uhhhh, Mormon’s and “for sale” talk radio hosts.
You Huckabee haters are sooooooo obvious. Let’s see if we can get this straight:
Romney can only win in states that have heavy Mormon participation. But Mike has the one-deep constituency?
The truth about Christianity is heralded. The truth about Mormonism is hidden.
First Mike’s not a conservative…then he’s splitting the conservative vote? Please, you look like idiots.
A vote for Mike is a vote for Mike.
Romney had liberal positions on abortion, gay rights, and guns….just 3 years ago!
That’s more recent than McCain-Feingold! How soon we forget.
Romney founded Bain Venture Capital. Bain bought Clear Channel. Clear Channel is the syndication partner for Rush, Glenn, Hannity….
Romney serves on the board at Marriott Hotels. Marriott is a huge purveyor of pornography with their “adult” movie channels. Some family values, huh?
Romney promised Michigan billions in federal bail-out money. Who’s the liberal now?
Romney saved the Olympics? WHO CARES!!!!
If Romney didn’t have the undying support of whacked out Mormons, and bought-and-paid-for talk radio hosts, he wouldn’t have any support at all!
If you believe otherwise, you’re ignorant or an idiot. Fortunately, ignorance can be cured.
“Impose Romney on us”? What do you take this Republic to be, Russia?
WHY is Huckabee peeling conservative votes? Why did almost half the voters cast their ballots for a young, vigorous, brilliant and heroic Cold Warrior who turned out, after his horrific assassination, to have been, on Election Day, a dying, thrill-seeking satyr and disastrously feckless and inexperienced statesmen whose Dad both bought and stole the 1960 election for him? If he was not in fact youthfully vigorous and resolved, then why did so many vote for him because they thought he was so?
As Lincoln liked to say, “Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg.”
And Huckabee’s calling himself a Republican and a Christian doesn’t make him either of those. The People demand, but will not get, a President who is exactly what she says she is.
Mike
I appreciate the fact you took the time to google info on Bain Capitol and Bain and company..however you forget to include one minor detail!!
In addition to the three founding partners, the early Bain Capital team included Fraser Bullock, Robert F. White, Joshua Bekenstein, Adam Kirsch and Geoffrey S. Rehnert. Bullock joined Romney as the Chief Operating Officer for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games when Romney left Bain in 2001 to lead the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.Article from Boston Globe August 23, 2001:
W. Mitt Romney is quitting Boston-based Bain Capital, the $13 billion investment firm he started with $35 million in 1984. The son of a former governor and himself a presidential candidate is going into politics in either Massachusetts or Utah after he completes work helping organize next year’s Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
Romney, 54, is giving up his 100 percent control of Bain Capital to 26 managing directors. The firm has made 170 venture and buyout investments in companies like pizza delivery chain Domino’s Pizza Inc., brokerage Datek Online Holdings Corp. and retailers Staples Inc. and the Sports Authority Inc.,
Before taking the Olympics job, Romney previously interrupted his business career in 1994 for a failed bid as Republican challenger to Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy.
On November 16, 2006, Clear Channel Communications agreed to be acquired by Bain Capital and Thomas Lee Partners for nearly $19 billion
Funny you fail to mention that MITT ROMNEY LEFT THE COMPANY IN 2001….HMMMMM 5 YEARS BEFORE CLEAR CHANNEL WAS PURCHASED BY BAIN CAPITOL
lETS GET THE STORY STRAIGHT, SHALL WE???!
OK,
I’ve had it!!! I have tried to post twice now and the censors are not letting my post through!!!
Bain Capitol as purchased in 2006. Mitt Romney left the company in 2001!!!! Google it..don’t be deceived by the lies on this board!!! An article on August 23, 2001 in the Boston Globe newspaper verifies he left the company. He no longer controls it..and has nothing to do with Clear Channel Communications.
I will be heard!!! The lies on this board are out of control!!!
A true conservative leader would realize when he has no chance of winning the nomination. He would bow out, put his support behind the consrvative front runner, and keep the “liberal” from winning.
Nope all Huckabee now cares about is winning the V.P. spot. Everyday he stays in it becomes MORE AND MORE apparent.
FYI… To all of those religous conservatives who believe McCain is a better second choice, you had better look at Romney First, and Hillary Second, becauase both are MUCH more conservative and ready to lead this country then an Adulterer John McCain and his trophy wife, who can’t tell the truth even when it’s presented to him, and can’t control his temper.
It will be so good when super Tuesday is over and Mitt Romney decides to drop out because he does not want to continue to pour huge amounts of money into a campaign he knows he cannot win.
It will be so good to see what the conservative radio talk show hosts do then. I bet they will turn to McCain, the liberal, rather than Huckabee, the conservative. Huckabee has character and courage and that is the one trait they cannot stand. Since they themselves sold their own souls for thirty pieces of silver long ago, they hate anyone who stands for what is good, right, and true.
It doesn’t matter. Their days are numbered. The people are onto them, and they are finished.
Wow!
Mike sure has Mitt’s runnin’ scared. Little ole Mike and his grassroots supporters seems to be putting up a pretty good fight for someone that has so little resources. Unlike Mitt, Mike doesn’t have a bunch of Wall Street tycoons financing 527 ads trying to run negative campaign ads against his opponents. As I see it, for someone that “just a dumb hick from the South”, Mike seems to be kickin’ Mitt’s butt when it comes to leveraging his campaign assets – so far it looks like Mike is a better fiscal money manager than Mitt and he hasn’t even made it to office yet.
As for all of your hate-filled attacks on Mike, how dare you presume that you represent all of the GOP. People wouldn’t be voting for Mike if they didn’t agree with his message. We are funding Mike to represent us and he’s doing exactly what we are wanting him to do. He’s not a quitter and the cause is worthy – Mike will fight the good fight, he will finish the race, and he will keep the faith; he is principled in his fight and it is for this reason he cannot and must not give up.
A Vote for Huckabee is a vote for Huckabee!
“This election is indeed an eye-opener! Sid, are you on the same planet as the rest of us? The Republican establishment is selling McCain. The talk show hosts you mentioned are Conservatives 1st, Republicans 2nd. They support Romney because unlike you and the Republican Establishment, they get it and they know Romney gets it.
Wouldn’t it be great if we set aside our religious differences and THINK STRATEGY in order to win the White House? We need to use our head. We can’t be like lemmings on election day! I, for one is a staunch Catholic and will vote for Mitt Romney in a hearbeat! Was I bothered by Romney’s religion? Absolutely not! Who am I to say that my religion is better than his? Christ commanded us to love our neighbors and brothers and sisters as ourselves. So, why the hatred and vindictiveness towards Mitt? Just because he is more blessed than the rest of us, that shouldn’t make us jealous of him. We don’t have a contest for religious supremacy here, we are voting for the future president of the USA! With concerns about the economy, I’m confident more than ever before to vote for Mitt. He is the best candidate there is! With him being a Mormon, that only showed that God loves all his children and don’t show partiality. God’s handiwork is present in Mitt’s life. He poured His blessings to Mitt and his family. Everything Mitt touches flourished just like Joseph in the Bible. Joseph’s brothers were so jealous of him that they sold him into slavery, but God uses evil deeds for good and Joseph saved the Egyptians from famine including his own family. Mitt is the modern day Joseph. God knows the heart of men and saw the challeges in our times, and he chose someone very special for this tasks and endowed him with intellect and talents needed to accomplish his mission on earth, and He let him be born to a Mormon family. He will save us from economic doom (famine in Joseph’s time) if given a chance, and who will turnaround this failing economy and make America great again. See the parallel of Joseph story? God is with us and will never abandon us and He thinks the best of us even if we strayed. He thought about us long before this time comes and he has someone prepared to meet this challeges. Now, the question is? Are we prepared to accept what is given? Please read the life and works of Mitt Romney and you won’t come out believing God’s hand is not in this. God’s fingerprints are in his life. I sometimes is awed by it! God so love us that he will never abandon us!
Sid — Huckabee is th eone who is out there with negative ads. Read what Carl Cameron reported:
Republican candidates led the majority of their TV commercials with a variety of traditional conservative issues – taxes, defense (including Iraq, veterans and terrorism), abortion and immigration, all three leading Democrats led with the same. Meanwhile, more than 29% of Romney’s ads also used the word change. But if “change” has been a big word in presidential campaign ads so far the year, the American flag has been the most popular image. McCain wrapped himself in the flag more than any other leading candidate, with 77% of his TV ads displaying the patriotic image. Close behind was Giuliani, with 65% of his spots doing the same, and Romney with 44% of his.
The only pure negative ad aired by a candidate to date was aired by Mike Huckabee. The ad, criticizing Mitt Romney, was pulled, but not before it aired 11 times in Iowa markets
Huckabee is a hypocrite and by the way he just endorsed McCain at msnbc this morning!

Of course Romney is not going to liberal republican endorsements. They are the first ones to sell out because they know all about the spoil system and how McCain will scratch their back so long as they scratch his.
Romney is known for cleaning house. He did it in the business world and brought positive change and he will do it as president. All these McCain politicains don’t want things to change because things are fine and corrupt just how they like it.
mike huck! I think you are a little cunfused who is the front runner. It is mcliar (who is way ahead of you and mit) not mitt. thanks to you mclair is over 20 points ahead of you national polls, yet you attack romney. Its simple math. Why dont you and McLiar go and hold hands….
HUCK ARE YOU RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OR NOT? GO AND CONFRONT MCLIAR IF YOU ARE! IF NOT BOW OUT!!!!( HUCK FANS WHY DONT YOU GIVE THE OL HUCKSTER A CALL AND DO THE MATH FOR HIM)
YOU ARE LEAVING A SOUR TASTE TO MANY AMERICANS!!!
When McCain names his VP, we’ll all be able to judge the other candidates’ intentions. I suspect Gomer Pyle’s supporters will be shocked. Or is it the Rev Armageddon T. Thunderbird?

Black Conservatives Rally to Urge
Mike Huckabee to Stay in Presidential Race
PRESS CONFERENCE
Monday, February 4, 2008
9:45 AM
National Press Club
529 14th Street NW, DC
Washington , D.C. — A broad coalition of black conservatives from across the country are holding a press conference to urge former Governor Mike Huckabee to stay in the presidential race for the Republican nomination until the Convention.
“Governor Huckabee should not be intimidated to stop his bid for the republican nomination,” states Don Scoggins, veteran GOP activist and among other conservatives hosting the press conference. “The momentum of the grassroots that propelled this party into victory is behind Mike and will not stop fighting for him regardless of his bank account,” also states Scoggins, president of Republicans for Black Empowerment, a DC based national grassroots organization.
The concern of the group is the pressure that is mounting by Republican talking heads to push Governor Huckabee out of the race. The consensus is that Huckabee’s campaign was deliberately sabotaged by Fred Thompson in South Carolina to hone out a two man race between McCain and Romney in Florida. Polls still show Huckabee leading in many southern states, and competitive in others even with limited resources.
“Inside-the-beltway Republicans have lost touch with the increasing seriousness with which Heartland conservatives relate to the traditional values agenda,” states Star Parker, a nationally syndicated columnist and conservative activist. “More and more folks are feeling personally assaulted by the meaninglessness that is gripping our culture and believe that Mike Huckabee is the only Republican candidate that embodies the moral clarity of the GOP ideals. The groundswell generating support for Huckabee’s candidacy understand that moral and economic health go hand in hand and should not be underestimated.”
Numerous African American conservatives, many also veteran Republican Party activists, are scheduled to speak at the one hour press conference.

Shandog,
You’re free to file a court complaint against Fox for this odd business of publishing a tortious defamation of Romney while refusing to publish your easily demonstrable facts. Their implied favoritism, coupled with their willfull refusal to ascertain easily accessible facts, in law is proof of actual malice. The Public Figure Doctrine, which otherwise applies here as the appropriate First Amendment test, never has excused malice. This is not a case of censorship; it’s a case of defamation, and specifically of republication of libel.
If you would like me to join your suit, I will do so, as there’s been a lot of this sort of thing about in this campaign season, and we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
My vote doesnt count until May 27, Mike Huckabee has been my first choice since the first debate and every debate since HE has increased my support of him,
I was so excited to think that maybe this year every vote would matter, the primarys are or I thought they were for the purpose of voting your concience over who can win the general, and quickly discourage last week when after only a few states were counted, the media for the most part, followed by all the pundants calling for people to drop out…
With so many aspects of this Election cycle making history, I am just as surprised that on the Dems side we might still see every vote count by the convention…
Keep on keepin on Mike Huckabee…
I “almost” think I would rather see Obama win the general..than not be able to vote for Mike at least in My primary.
Huckabee Voters:
It actually is embarrassing to see what kind of comments Huckabee has made about Romney. The more research I have done the more I discover how false Huckabee’s statements have been. Huckabee is becoming more and more like McCain in his comments. The problem I now have with Huckabee now, is he is siding with McCain, (McCain supports gay marriage, and was involved in the McCain Savings and Loan scandal). Is he looking for a job with McCain?
Huckabee is NOT acting like a person who should be President.
I am now going to vote for Mitt Romney!
OMG…it won’t let me post here because I said some very sensible things as to why people
should support Mitt Romney…The media control as to how we think is not Democratic and
frankly, scary…Please people, just do your own homework and make the smart decision
for you, your family and America…
if mccainwins the gop nod, i’m gonna blame the huckster. hope mcnasty stabs him in the back and says go away you little pimp.
i will not compromise beliefs or principles, therefore i will NEVER vote for mcnasty.
i’m tired of the republican establilshment tellin us we have fall in line to rally around mcnasty.
mcnasty gonna get a rude awakening – maybe tomorrow – but for sure in nov if he is the nominee
Yada yada yada ….. a vote for Huck is the same as a vote for Romney is the same as a vote for McCain. What is in the kool-aid you people drink. The Titanic has a hole in it and listing and all you can think of is those 3 stooges. Not one of them as a real plan to save this country from the iceburg dead ahead. Please just stick your heads back in the sand and quit trying to impress people with your ignorance. So Huck is great… never met a gratuity he didn’t like. Took them all. Raised taxes by a huge amount and now says he has a plan to lower them. RIGHT. Romney Was for everything before he was against it. He is rude and unfeeling towards anything not directly benifiting him. And McCain well he is just a plain bigot with no concern for anyones feelings. I am repulsed by all of them. As well as anyone with any sence should be. And don’t get me wrong the Dems are just as bad. This country is in such bad shape it will take a major overhaul to keep 2/3 of us from calling the streets and bridges (well not the bridges most of them are falling down) home. Look beyond your noses and see what this government has done to the land we entrusted them with. It is time for a great awakening in this country and I pray it isn’t to late aready. The budget proposed is $3,100,000,000,000.00 that is what they are admitting to there is alot that they won’t. So lemmings time to look at the cliff that is ahead and I hope you see it before the last of you follows the one in front of you over it.
Mitt is honest and has conservative values, and stays concentrated on the issues. Romney doesn’t make personal attacks against other canidates, as Huck and McCain does. Mitt doesn’t attack peoples’ religion as Huckabee and McCain does.
America if you want a sovereign nation, McCain/Huckabee will take that from us. There is a strategy that we, as Republicans can use to stop McCain (King of Amnesty). Huck needs to be part of that strategy. Combine our votes and vote for the following Presidential Canidates: We must unite in order to stop the Liberal McCain!
Massachusetts: Vote for Romney!
Arizona: Vote for Romney!
California: Vote for Romney!
Colorado: Vote for Romney!
Georgia: Vote for Romney!
Illinois: Vote for Romney!
Montana: Vote for Romney!
North Dakota: Vote for Romney!
Utah: Vote for Romney!
Missouri: Vote for Romney!
Alabama: Vote for Huckabee
Arkansas : Vote for Huckabee
Oklahoma: Vote for Huckabee
Tennessee: Vote for Huckabee.
Let Hannity get it on!!! What’s going on about this “Clear Channel Commnunication” issues same with the rest of his group Ann Coulter, Laura Ingrahm and Rush Limbaugh! Why not talk about it??? Are they afraid to expose the truth. Why they are leaning towards Romney. Which they know well…flip flops, doing negative adds against other Rupublican candidates. To believe that they support him inspite of that is kinda shady. That is the reason why my whole family said…what’s going on here??? Now, we know why. And to all Romney supporters…for you to spend a lot of money, millions of it and can’t win the nominee is KINDA SAD! so be honest to yourselves and the smart thing is for him to leave the race. So HE WON’T SPEND MORE MONEY!! For Huckabee who don’t have much money and winning is really something else, that means…people like him not just because he can buy them!!! So just imagine if Huckabee has same money as Romney? Where do you guys think Romney will be now in the race? Maybe he’ll be like Ron Paul on fourth place. Huckabee supporters are not rich like like Romney supporters. Not to mention I know Mormon people cheap in good for their candidates and their people. But Huckabee supporters are common people, don’t have that much money. But we have integrity and will stand for him, go and vote for him. Yes, Huckabee might not raise too much money co’z his supporters are average american but will definitely go out and vote for him! That’s why eventhough he don’t raise much money he still beat Romney in some states same with McCain. So that explain all of this…The smart thing for Romney to do is get out! Co’z he is where he is right now because of the money he put out! That is crazy! If I were him I would not spend more money get broke and will not be the nominee is not smart thing to do! And if a rich person get broke and get into the white house where you think they will get their money back from? Use position to benefit themselves. And definitely will not do things for the people but to enrich themselves. Not to mention he is using his own money now. PEOPLE THAT LOVE MONEY SERVES MONEY! And for Romney supporters…it would be really smart if you guys tell him not to say negative against other Republican people! Co’z fisting them off is not a good thing! And whatever is going on right now McCain and Huckabee ticket is because he put it to himself!!! He ask for it! Now, what’s up with this BOB DOLE??? he is saying…What????
