Romney and McCain in tie in latest Rasmussen.

In all the latest National polls according to Real Clear Politics, McCain holds a sizable lead of 18 points or more over Romney. The only exception is the latest Rasmussen polls conducted between Jan 29 and Feb 1. Scott Rasmussen has just began his daily national track and his poll shows Romney leading with a double digit lead among Republican conservatives, which pulls him even with McCain who beats Mitt two to one among others Republicans.

In the dialect of polling science, this may be an “outlier” meaning this could be accurate but it’s so inconsistent with any of the other polls that unless other polls match it within the next few days it may be written off as a statistical aberration.

On Meet the Press, John McCain told Tim Russert that he’d like to debate Mitt Romney one on one about the economy. How cowardly to make such a bold statement on national tv, and then quietly back out when the camera is turned off. John McCain is showing his true colors, which in this case is yellow…

Rasmussen is a decent poll but the problem is they use a four day rolling average to report their data. Four days is an eternity right now and what that means is they are incorporating old information with their new information. According to their projection of recent races they have been off by an average of 7.33% in GOP races and 10.33% in democratic races. Although they almost always do pick the eventual winner they tend to underestimate the spread and in nationwide surveys this has to be expanded a bit. Reuters, Insider Advantage, and especially Survey USA have been the most accurate thus far on the GOP side. Strategic Vision has been very impressive on the democratic side. Based on this information I would estimate McCain’s lead to be about 16% – 17%

Hmm…Fox News has McCain up by 28. That’s all, why dont they go for 60. Romney is making his move. The more people see and hear him, the more they like him. This is going to the convention.

never put the cart before the horse. it’s still early yet. didn’t the two maine senators endorse mccan? who won the state? let’s see wasn’t it romney? maybe all these endorsements are a drag on mccain.

maybe the voters see him aligning himself with establishment D.C.

it won’t be over on Tuesday. we’ll have brokered convention and mitt will come out on top.

conservatives will NOT vote for mcnasty. i’ll stay home before i cast a vote for him

Well, in that so many really believe that the Huckster (I really trust Arkansas politicians-not), is there just to win for himself as a True-Preaching-guitar playing-bag carrying, conservative, I will definitly write in for him in November (God Forbid McCain wins) and show how much he proved his point by devastating Romney.
Are we all so foolish that we really believe we elect a President? Sure Romney is eating into his hard earned money, yes he must buy ads, while they are free for Festus (the Huckster) and McCain. Where is the fairness? Why is this never discussed? I cannot turn on any station without hearing McCain, McCain, mccain, etc. etc.
If someone did a fairness test, they would find that for every dollar spent by Romney, Fox has given McCain (and his bellboy) $100 in free exposure.
I’m starting to like Putins policy of making the Media keep fair and not bringing their own biases into politics. Strange how one man or his son, can give away millions $$$, in free visibility because they control the airwaves, newsprint, and radio. So, this is ok, but Mitt spending some of his own money is taboo?
I hope all you Conservatives write in for the Huckster, in November, and then in four years Romney will still be willing to come back as did Reagan.
So, for me it’s Conservatives Republicans Stay Home for 4 years, if McCain is on Ballot (write in anybody) and then we can replace Carter’s protegie’s from the left!
Let’s not let them think we’re really so ignorant!

Now they’re trying to even the playing field, Fox News go get a life! Mitt just DESTROYED your boy McCain in Maine. Absolutely DESTROYED him.

Fox News gave him what… 30 seconds of air time. The went on to talk about McCain and Florida.

All I have to say is GO MITT GO!!

I have confidence in the American people. There’s no way it will be John McCain.

Thank you citizens of Maine for saying “No” to John McCain!

I stopped listening to the polls and I wish they would just let us run our government through elections instead of trying to force their opinions on us by polling. Some of the questions they ask in these polls are ridiculous, yet if it makes their candidate look good it will be plastered all over the media, like the numbers are a sign from God about the most important issue of the day!

Vote ROMNEY!!

Once, an avid viewer of FOX News, I have had to switch to CNN quite frequently in order to get an unbiased report of the Democrat and Republican candidate coverage.

I love how MITT is up by at least 25% in Massachusetts, whereas McCain is only ahead by about 10-15% is HIS OWN STATE OF ARIZONA!

Doesn’t that tell you something? Republicans everywhere — remember what your party stands for and don’t let liberalism rule your party! McCain IS NOT the only candidate who can win in November. That is a liberal MEDIA LIE. Do NOT buy into it!

Rally behind Romney!!

Sure Mitt has $100 million plus his own money
McCain has $40 million.

I think Mitt “contributed” to rasmussen to come up with something, anything that shows he is not losing.

Real hero like McCain, who says and does what is right for the country, should be the next president.

We all know and saw what so called “successfull CEOs” did to us. Citibank, Morgan Stanley all other big companies reported huge losses. They themselves made alot of money, general public left holding the bag.

Mitt is a succesfull businessman, therefore knows economy means nothing.

The best thing a real American can do is to support McCain, contribute to his campaing, level the playing field.
Hillary and Obama also has $100 million plus funds, all special interests, unions and such.

Go McCain. Real American hero.

I had the opportunity to meet John McCain at his Republican Rally in Atlanta last night.

I am inspired and optimistic that our country would be UNITED under his leadership. Divided we fail.

He is determined to cut spending and lower taxes. He is determined to protect our country and interests. He is determined to bring our troops home in honor. He is determined to find Bin Laden. He is determined to protect our children from atrocity. He is determined to close our borders. He is determined to work with Congress to get things done. He is determined to provide better care for our soldiers returning from war. He is determined to arrange for our military and military families to be able to CHOOSE their physicians rather than to travel hours away to a military base for treatment.

He has the COURAGE, WISDOM and LIFE EXPERIENCE to lead and make wise decisions.

He offers a RATIONAL and REALISTIC approach to the problems our country faces ahead.

He would be OUR President of the UNITED STATES.

Someone who will make us proud. And someone who will make us even more PROUD TO AMERICANS.

Please vote McCain.

polls are too fluid to be accurate predictors this year. Romney is a fraud and is trying to buy the nomination. Ask WHY are two major conservative papers in his home state supporting McCain and not Romney…it is because Romney is a fraud and was not a good governor. Romney talks a good story but there is NO substance behind him. Vote McCain a true hero and American who will lead this country like the true leader he has always been.

I also note that you are not reporting states where Mitt Romney is ahead, by wide margins, and your discounting of his win again yesterday. The majority of you will never vote for McCain or Romney. Please stop trying to shove McCain down real Republican’s throats.

This I will tell you: If Mitt Romney is not printed on my Ballot in November, He will still receive my Vote. I will write him in if necessary, but will NEVER Vote for McCain. You all know Huckabee is McCain’s Lackey! You did not report the real reason McCain won Florida was his Dirty Dialing with Lies about Mitt Romney the last minute. But then, why shouldn’t he? It was never reported as his doing or Huckabee’s doing in the other states either. What happened to the investigation on the Christmas Cards those two sent out?

Oh, and as far as “Flip-Flops”, it’s amazing how often you labeled Romney with them, even when it was untrue, but you sure have given McCain a pass.
You pick and choose your Poll Results, too. You were using Pollster.com, now it is Real Clear Politics. Why would that be? Why is it that McCain’s pictures are suddenly so colorful and Mitt’s are the worst one’s you can find on the lowest resolution you can find? The one on the front page today is a joke! We all know what he actually looks likeIt just make you look ridiculous..

But, most of all WHY YOUR LIE ABOUT MASSACHUSETTS? WHEN MITT ROMNEY IS AHEAD BY 25.3%? ROMNEY 54%, MCCAIN 28.7%? How about if I tell you. Because you think it will make Mitt Romney look bad to be, as you stated, behind McCain in his own state!!! You, LIARS!

The very latest polls are showing a Romney surge-he has pulled ahead in California and picked up 9 points in Missouri. He has also tightened the races in Tennessee and Georgia. This thing may not be over yet.Conservatives on Super Tuesday can unite behind Mitt Romney and keep the Republican Party our party. It seems the more “inevitable” Juan McCain becomes the reality of nominating a liberal gets more distasteful!

It really irks me that the press has McKenndy, er, McCain leading. What is he leading from? Endorsements by Girlyman Schwartzenegger? From anti marriage, pro abortionist Guliani? Does the press really want him to be the next president? If so, I’m you, including Fox News, can just inform your sponsors that they have just lost another set of eyeballs! Either you keep your programming “fair and balanced” or risk being branded as just another news organization with a hidden agenda.

As for McKennedy, he seems to have total disdain for what we, the people, think and want in our next president. Instead, he would rather cloak himself in the Washington DC “good ol boy club” which is EXACTLY WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE FED UP WITH!!!!. And if the members of Congress were all running for reelection this year, they would soon find themselves out on their ear as well. To bad McKenndy just doesn’t get it. Maybe he will by the time the convention rolls around – providing he’s even still a factor.

May God Bless this Country and thank you Mitt for stepping up to the plate!

John McCain is trying to cheat and lie to win this election. It’s just like when he cheated on his disabled wife and eventually divorced her for his rich, younger mistress.

It’s also like the Keating 5, when McCain cheated the American tax payers out of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Since McCain can’t really talk about his senate record (amnesty, against tax cuts, 50 cent gasoline tax, etc.) he tries to play up his “character”. I think his character is despicable. Cheating on and divorcing a crippled wife, wow that bad.

Mitt is going all the way!!!

Spread the word about McCain’s lack of character.

Governor Mitt Romney is the BEST CANDIDATE for the economy, for border and illegal immigration control, for fiscal responsibility, for efficiency in management, for listening to others and gathering multiple points of view, for a better health care for everyone, and for dynamic leadership. Governor Romney has new ideas, a fresh vision, and proven problem-solving skills. Governor Romney is a family man of integrity. A Vote for Governor Romney is a vote for a better future.

McCain is a an angry hot head. The leader of the free world should be someone who can keep their cool. He has shown himself time and again to be a nasty guy. What exactly has McCain done besides implement liberal policies while in the senate? I’m an Arizonan who didn’t and doesn’t like his representation.

Vote Mitt!

Fox is sold on McCain. Very sad day for conservatives. McCain left his first wife after a terrible accident and meets his new rich boy toy during his mid-life crisis. Perot calls McCain some pretty bad things. Perot ended up supporting McCain’s first love the rest of her life.

McCain is no hero. He is a person who chose beauty over substance, politics over soul.

That is my problem with McCain.

Huckster needs to back down and be VP so we can get the conservatives on the same page. He will have his turn as soon as he can prove himself and win more than three southern states in the national election. Please Huckabee, get real about your chances nationally. After all your Anti-Mormon crap, you will lose every southwestern state where Mormons are the heart and soul of the Republican party (about 20% of the voting population)

Romney needs Huckabee and if he wants a future, Huckabee needs Romney. If Romney loses the nomination, the conservatives won’t forget. Makes some sense Huckabee. Get out of your southern world and look around. You only win a few states and get killed by McCain. You won’t be his VP and even if you were, you would go no further in your career.

Have a future, jump on the wagon! Move on with the movement or get seriously left behind (and maybe run over)

Don’t take my word for whether Romney is a flip-flopper; check out his own words. It is so fortunate to have the internet. Romney can equivocate all he wants, but he cannot totally cover up his HUGE pile of flips and flops. Here are a few places that document his own several positions on the same issues. Go to http://www.trueromney.com and http://www.romneyfacts

Also go to http://youtube.com/watch?v=mGur36uVWxA&eurl

Facts are pesky things; and there are enough of them that even his Romney network cannot confuse all the people all the time. I wish the man well; but America needs someone much more dependable and stable than “say anything Romney” for president. He simply says what serves him best at the time; i.e. his promise on a massive bail out to Michigan — pandering, pandering, pandering.

One of the most outrageous examples of his gaul is trying to embrace Ronald Reagan after he denounced Reaganism in Massachusetts 6 years AFTER Reagan had finished his presidency. So he flipped when convenient to embracing Ronald Reagan. And 26 years AFTER Roe v. Wade and the extended national debate over the evils of abortion, he promised the liberal voters in Massachusetts that he was reliably PRO-CHOICE. Then some 8 years later he wants America to believe “he has finally seen the light” and he is now pro-life. Since these are only a few flips and flops among many, he looks far too fishy. Even if he is sincere, one does not have 30 years in the presidency to make a right decision that it apparently took him to do about abortion. He “saw” his father march with Marin Luther King. He said he was an avid hunter, and on and on he has slick-talked and flip-flopped on way too many issues to be taken seriously. Again, voters can look at Romney’s own words to establish the truth of the assertion: He is One HUGE Flip-flopper. Go to the websites listed above. Get the facts. Don’t let the Romney network succeed in confusing the American people as they appear so determined to do.

And one thing about Christians’ (and Huckabee’s perhaps) religious bigotry that I can point out for Mitt Romney is the point of solid values. Mitt’s wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (something like that), has stable family values, supports his 7 kids and appears to have raised them well, whereas McCain divorced his wife after she became disabled around 10 years ago, around then he also claimed he was a Baptist, and married a trophy wife like 20 years or so younger than him. ha ha ha.

Comment by Shaina

People in this country tend to be biased against rich people, citing the belief that money in and of itself is evil. This is false – it is greed that can be evil. This belief along with Christian religious bigotry thinking Mormonism is “less than” somehow, is why there’s some bias against Mitt. People who follow the issues, the debates, the candidates, and are more educated seem to tend toward liking Mitt Romney the most among republican candidates. The more time he has to campaign, the more people he sways in his direction, because he’s clearly the best candidate by far (in my opinion). Media was reporting that if he’d have had another week or two in Florida, he would have won the state. He just had no name recognition. He’s a very successful person in general. McCain graduated second to last in his class. Mitt graduated in the top of the class both undergrad and at Harvard for his MBA. He does wonders for business, can turn them from losing money to profitability. McCain thinks that some people on Walstreet should be punished for the mortgage crisis… hmmm how is walstreet directly connected to mortgages? It’s not! Banks offered negative amortization loans (designed for people who cannot afford a mortgage to be able to) and consumers stupidly took out these loans. Not to mention Romney vs. McCain on illegal immigrants!!! And McCain, as a soldier, led his troops into a trap where they were captured. So he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed in that area either!

Fox news with the exception of Hannity has become extremely biased against Mitt Romney. Why don’t you be honest, and tell Americans that Mitt is ahead in Massachusetts by 2 to 1? He also won by a large margin in Maine. Instead, Fox reports that McCain, is already the winner of the presidential election. Why doses Fox News report that Romney flip-flops, when they are aware that it is a Lie? McCain, and his other half, Huckabee are the biggest flip-floppers, and have very little integrety! Why is it so difficult to give Mitt Romney any credit for him being the most Conservative and honest Republican? Why doesn’t Fox News give the true report on Illegal Immigration? McCain (Total Amnesty), and Huckabee (Dream Act) are for Amnesty and continued Mass Chain Migration? Why is the resolution on Romneys’ picture so dull, while on McCain, it is clear?

When it comes to Fox news, you are no longer fair and balanced when it comes to politics. You are leaning to the Liberal side. Fox might as well fire everbody, but Colmes. American Conservitives are not fooled by Fox News and these other Liberal channels, using dishonest reverse Psychology as a means to attempt to place a Liberal in the White House as President. We the people will unite and select Mitt Romney as our next President! Go Mitt Romney

I don’t pay much attention to polls. I have an idea they keep calling the same 500-900 people all the time and most likely in Liberal conclaves.

Wake up people, ROMNEY IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE.

(Taken from WorldNetDaily.com )

“Mitt Romney pushed through same-sex marriage all by himself, in the absence of any authority or requirement to do so, having a complete misunderstanding of his role as governor and of the significance of the court’s opinion,” said Keyes.

“The court never ordered him to act, nor did he have the right to act, since the legislature never changed the law. Romney claimed he had no other choice, but that’s completely untrue.”

(Taken form http://www.perrspectives.com).
Romney also said;

“I promised that if elected, I’d call a truce – a moratorium, if you will…I vowed to veto any legislation that sought to change the existing rules…I fully respect and will fully protect a woman’s right to choose.”

He raised fees, but he said he didn’t increase taxes. Give me a break!!!.

McCain is an absolute abysmal imbosol!! He’s a RHINO republican and tried to shove amnesty down our throat 2 times with “HIS OWN BILL”. HE IS FOR TAXING USA companies only to solve a so called GLOBAL warming problem. Well what about the rest of the WORLD? You people drink the kol-aid of the press and are completely UNINFORMED.

ROMNEY is this COUNTRYS BEST HOPE.

You want to know something else, STUPIDY BREADS ITSELF. You will believe anything someone tells you if you are uninformed and that is what the liberal media is counting on.

DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK!

John McCain should be renamed as JUAN McCain. Have you noticed who his heading up his HISPANIC outreach group for this race. If not, Google “McCain and Dr. Juan Hernandez.

I WILL NOT, SHALL NOT AND CAN NOT VOTE FOR JUAN McCain, I would rather the Republican Party dissolve, period!

TOP TEN REASONS JOHN MCCAIN IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE:
1. John McCain teamed with Ted Kennedy and attempted to give amnesty to every illegal alien in America, and even wished to grant them access retroactively to Social Security benefits accrued under illegally used numbers while here against the current law.

2. John McCain (along with the regular cohort of lefties) removed your right to speak out against political candidates (including him) through advocacy ads in the 30-60 days before a primary or general election. The infamous McCain-Feingold legislation proves he couldn’t find an originalist judge if the man was sharing a pair of pants with him.

3. John McCain considered leaving the GOP to become an independent caucusing with the Dems, and only balked when Jeffords beat him to it. Daschle and others swear its true.

4. John McCain proved himself to be a populist anti-capitalist when he called the pharmaceutical companies “the enemy” during the most recent South Carolina debate. George Will is even wondering why John is a Republican and hasn’t switched yet.

5. John McCain has swallowed the “Man Made Global Warming” pill whole. He has teamed with Lieberman to offer legislation to create a carbon cap and trade system that the Congressional Budget Office believes will add energy costs to each family of between $560-1800 per year, with the money raked in dispersed out in R&D grants, or government pork barrel goody contracts as I interpret it.

6. John McCain voted against the “Bush” tax cuts more than once, voted for amendments to keep the death tax alive, and along with our faithful Governor Pawlenty calls huge tobacco tax increases “fees”.

7. John McCain believes waterboarding for US Servicemen is normal during training for capture situations, but calls it unconscienable torture when applied to important organizational terrorist figures caught plotting to kill Americans. This American serviceman disagrees.

8. John McCain supported gun control measures with rules that would have effectively shut down gun shows and gun sales between private parties. He teamed with Andrew McKelvey’s Handgun Control spinoff called Americans For Gun Safety. A real champion of the little guy our McCain. Gun Owner’s Of America rating – F

9. John McCain has stated he would vote for the international anti-sovereignty Treaty of The Seas if it was “tweaked” a little. This compact would give an international body the jurisdiction to dictate naval forces movement, oceanic weapons and technology testing, and set and collect fees and divy up rights and royalties to all energy resources found and recovered at sea in current international waters. One country, one vote. How do you think Iran would vote for our rights to traverse the Straits of Hormuz?

10. Midwest Jay really can’t stand the guy, and he reminds me too much of a pissed off Huck-a-jerk without the Chuck Norris sidekick. Leading a fighter squadron gives you leadership experience to lead a fighter squadron of 24 guys. Reagan made war bond films. Who cares. American hero or socialist? Probably both.

Comment by Martin

McCain the flip-flopper:

McCain is now saying that he voted against a $1.35-trillion tax cut package in 2001 because the tax cuts weren’t balanced by spending cuts. This is false. That was not the reason he gave at the time of the 2001 vote itself. During the May 2001 Senate debate on the conference committee report of the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (EGTRRA), McCain made a floor statement in which he explained his vote against the bill. McCain did not mention the absence of offsetting spending cuts; rather, he said that while he supported an earlier version of the bill “that provided more tax relief to middle income Americans,” “I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us, at the expense of middle class Americans who most need tax relief.” McCain reiterated this position in an April 11, 2004, interview on NBC’s Meet the Press, saying: “I would have — I voted against the tax cuts because of the disproportionate amount that went to the wealthy Americans.”

The Media won’t report the facts; we conservative Republicans must educate ourselves….

Comment by John

Have the American people been sucked in by the media? Am I a political expert…NO! Why do all the news channels (including Fox News) think that John McCain is now the nominee for the Republican party? Frankly the more I see and hear from him the more I feel like people are getting “dooped” into his act. There has only been what….8 states that have voted? Are there not 50 states in the USA? Regardless of this McCain Bandwagon lets remember that it is the “regular people” that decide who their nominee will be. Thank you citizens of Maine who got out there and voted for Mitt Romney despite all the whoo-ha for McCain. I have confidence that the American people will make the wise decision as to who will lead this Nation! GO MITT ROMNEY!

Comment by Judy

Romney is the only real Conservative and has an excellent record as governor of Massachusetts, and with the Olympics. Mitt is the only presidential candidate that has succesfully emplemented a Health Care program. He is against Amnesty of any form, no tax increases, for tax cuts and reduced spending, against abortion, for an increase in jobs for Americans; not China. He’s for Conservative Judges that follow the Constitution. Romney is a succesful business leader, and knows how to improve our economy. Mitt knows that we must be succesful in Iraq and not allow terrorists into our country. He’s aware that we must use whatever means available, in order to protect America from Nuclear bombs from Iran, North Korea, and other terrorists.

McCain is a LIBERAL! His record reflects that he usually votes for liberal legislation. He voted against the Bush tax cuts, and stated that it would only help the affluent population. McCain is for Amnesty, as the McCain/Kennedy bill reflects, he is for sanctuary cities and driver licenses for illegal aliens. This is extremely dangerous for our country and it is quite feasable that terrorists will flock to the U.S. Americans are against Amnesty. McCain wants Americans to pay 50 cents per gallon of gas extra. McCain is against the First Amendment, as the McCain/Findgold Bill reflects. He doesn’t want us to have freedom of speech. McCain is against the Secondond Amendment. He doesn’t want Americans to have the right to bear arms. If this isn’t suffiecient evidence that McCain has mostly Liberal views, I can not ascertain what is! McCain flip-flops frequently and uses dirty politics as a means to win. It also appears as though all of the Liberal channels, and Fox news has already reported that McCaine is the Presidental winner on the Republican side, and are extremely resistent to pointing out any of his Liberal views.

Huckabe appears to be staying in the race in hopes of possibly being selected as McCains Vice-President. He is a flip-flopper and continuously does negative ads against Romney. He also has several liberal views. Huckabee let out 12 murders, while governor. He let out numerous criminals that were repeat offenders. Huckabee is for the “Dream Act”, which is a form of Amnesty. This bill would allow illegals below the age of 30 to obtain state tuition, while American college students wouldn’t be afforded these same rights. This bill would also allow the illegal criminals (Rapists, child molesters, murderers etc.) to stay in our country by filling out an application. The Federal government could not deport them while their application was being processed, and in many cases, they may not get deported period because of all the red tape. Upon the illegals turning 21 they would be able to bring up to 18 of their family members into the U. S., which would be equivalent to mass chain migration. It is alleged that Huckabee uses church funds as a means to pay for these ads. I very rarely hear anything negative on any Liberal channels or Fox news regarding Huckabees Liberal views. Fox news seldom reports on Romneys’ conservative views.

It appears as though all the Liberal channels, including Fox news frequently report on how much money Romney uses on ads. What’s wrong with Capitolism and being successful? I would like to clear the record in Florida. McCain had 17% independents that stated that they voted on the Republican ballet, or otherwise Romney would have won by a wide margin in Florida. In addition, Romney won by 2 to 1 in Maine, and is way ahead of McCaine in Massachusetts. How come its being reported that McCain is winning in Massachusetts. This is dishonest, unreliable reporting. Romney is the only true and honorable Conservative canidate, as his record reflects. Go Romney!!!

So, McCain flew to Mass. to watch the Patriot’s Vs. NY Giants, with Kemp (has been) to suppossedly embarrass Romney in hie own homw state? Well what if the Pat’s lose will it be, “McCain makes the Pat’s Lame?
Good example of very poor Judgement, the odds are surely against the Patriots, though I am a Pat fan. Mathematics does the rest! So “McCain lost/won the game” great embarrassment! This really more so demonstrates the “MEAN Streak in the former Navy Captain, War Hero, who got caught”?
Most Vets had great Judgement, and had no daddy to protect their but, as Pop “Admiral” during the Veitnam War.
So who maybe embarrassed now McCain? It’s about a game, not vindictiveness! Anyone can flip a coin and it’s still 50/50, your point, shows your lack of fair play and true Patriotism.

Comment by Joe CRSH44

Well, I guess McCain left his mark on Mass. and the Patriots!!!!! He came to Boston to embarrass Romney, instead he made them lose! McCain again uses bad Judgment! Who is embarrassed now? You should of stayed in Arizona and cheered with Hillary your buddy.
Mitt, low blows won’t work, as you know, McCain cannot keep a good man down. So I guess we can thank McCain for this loss.

Carl Cameron and the whole Fox crew’s recent comments about MittRomney have enlightened me – Fox isnt fair and balanced, but devoted solely to the cornation of Jon McCain. But why? becasue the Wall Street Journal and Fox (might they be connected or owned by the same person..rumor has it?)If I am incorrect I apologize.
But the question still remains, your bias towards the Huckster and McNasty is obvious. Everytime I turn on Fox News 9 (which used to be my first choice, but no longer is) there is McCain with his wicked grin and over exposure – one endorsement after another, but who is endorsing him largely…moderate or liberal Republicans like Arnold and Guiliani, both of whom are ruinous to our party. Arnold has had to move tot he left to maintain his governorship and, well, Rudi, he all but made New York City a sancutary city. Mitt did not.
Mitt Romney is the finest candidate I will ever see in my life time, second to only Ronald Reagan.
Mit is a man of vision. He has solid credentials both in the business world and in academia. He has a great unselfish and devoted work ethic. Example: he did not accept the Governors salry for 4 straight year. When did you report that Fox?
He is also faithful to his wife Anne of 38 years. Was McCain. Loyalty starts with your wife and your family and your home. We dont need another Bill Clinton. A mans word to his wife reveals his character. Mitt is a man of character.
Mitt is attractive and sensible and has the proper and refined temperament of a gentleman, he would no sooner curse a Senate colleague than fly. McCain has a well established reputation for this. Can you imagine John McCain casting aspersions on foregin leaders who loosing his temper during a negotation over oil, or weapons, or when trying to seek peace. I cannot. he is a bully and will play like a stupid child and get us all into trouble.
We talk about the, Mitt has supported the surge and has stood by President Bush and has done nothing but honor this country this president and the laws of this land becasue he is a man of his word and a mna of God. Despite what Huckabee wants you to think, Mitt is a man of God.
John McCain, on the other hand, according to Rick Santorum has done everything within his power
to undermine the conservative base, he cosntantly challenges the conservative ideals, and often leads the charge against his fellow conservatives. How could anyone like that ever be the nominee of the GOP. He doesnt deserve his Senate seat much less the nomination. Are we nuts?
Do you realize that security starts at home and on the border. If we dont protect and defend America we can loose everytuing. Intentions to secure the border are nice, but in reality, John McCain has done nothing to secure the border, in fact with his pressing for Mccain Kennedy to become law, this would have enabled up to 12+ million illegals to eventualy become citizens…imagine the increased and continous strain on public resources, the over crowding of schools and the forced closure of hospital emergency rooms, not to mention the horrendous border state crime rates, human trafficking, infliltration of gangs, and movement of drugs into the country.
John McCain has no idea what he is doing and how he is placing America at risk. He has failed America and American citizens for too long a time. Time to deport him from the Senate and renounce his nomination bid on thr grounds of being not what he claims to be, a conservative Republicans, but a horses a** of another persuasion, a true liberal democrat.
For those of you who like McCain try reading up on the K
Keating 5, this was a serious Savings and Loan scandal in the 1980s, John McCain was one of 5
Senators involved. What does this tell you. McCain is not to be trusted.
Last but not least, McCain has lied about Romney. McCain is a little man, who is enjoying his quest for the spotlight, his devious grin, his out and out lies about Mitt and alleged “time tables” have been proven wrong.
And more than that, just yesterday on UTube I listened and watched a woman who queried the Senator about what he planned to do about anchor babies and the catastrophic impact illegals are having in her state. Did he answer her? No. She was all, but ignored and forcibly removed from the room. You see he couldnt answer her. He had nothing to say. Becasue he has done nothing about this. So she was conveniently quieted, but those who know the truth heard her cry out and we understand her anguish…
So If Rassumssen has a poll that indicates that Romney is tied with McCain – so be it. Isnt that glorious? Isnt it possible? Isnt it wonderful? Wouldnt it be a revelation to have Mitt Romney as our nominee? I think so. I hope so. I will continue to pray and pray that Fox news gets this right and treats all the candidates fairly…becasue giving deference to a liar and an open borders guy, which no staunch Republican that I know of feels much respect is outrageous.
Thank you.

What ever happened to “you decide” Carl is so in love with McCain, he has a hard time reporting anything good about Romney.

I too have started getting my information from CNN to try and get a better view of the Republician race.

I strongly believe that Mitt Romney is the best candidate for the presidency of the United States of America and Senator McCain is a liberal registered as a Republican. If he wins on Super Tuesday, then I’ll be staying home and not voting on November. I am a Cuban-American and a conservative and there are a lot of us Cubans who do not agree at all with illegal immigration. The “Cuban” politicians of Miami-Dade County trick old people in getting them to vote for whom they want with the absentee ballots. These politicians (or their representatives) visit the homes of the elders and persuade them to sign the absentee ballots and right after, they choose the candidate they want and not what the old people want. My own mother (85 yrs. old) was one of their victims years past. Also, in both counties of Broward and Miami-Dade, there were technical problems or “mysterious problems” with the voting machines (as published by the Herald); therefore, that might have influenced the results, in my opinion.

Comment by Anna

Yes, I agree, Romney is not perfect, but he is the best choice. Romney 08

Why does Huckbee side with McCain? The reason is they are both Baptist and their religion has a book that hates all other religions!! It you do not believe me go to one of your local Baptist churches and see! Huckbee and McCain have been doing everything underhanded they can do to get ahead and try to know off Romney. It’s pretty sad when a preacher has to help out a liar to help him win! Besides the good old boy system in Washington doing there best to get McCain in for his just do’s.

I have been very disappointed in your biased and fraudulant reporting of Romney’s record and where he stands in the polls. He is ahead in his own state by 25%. You reported that McCain was almost tied or ahead. False reports like this give the average viewer the impression that Romney can’t even win in his own state. Romney is the true conservative and would make a great president. He is the only one that could lead us in this point with our economy on the verge of a recession. McCain will be going to the left just as soon as he is sworn in re-opening the immigration bill, raising taxes and anything else his liberal friends need. During the last debate on CNN McCain came across as arrogant and a liar. He was caught lying about Romney’s statement regarding timetables and no one has reported this or anything. McCain does not appear to even have a full understanding of economical issues and does not convey any confidence on the most important issue in this election. Yet you give him a pass. I thought that Fox News was a conservative news station, fair and balanced. You are just like the rest of the liberal media. Is their any reporter that has any integrity or honor? With the exception of Sean Hannity, i am turing off Fox News.

Can’t buy me love, love…

Here’s some real news that the media’s not covering:

1). According to the Federal Election Commission [www.FEC.gov] Mittens Romney has “loaned” his campaign $35,000,000 of his own fortune, and that’s only up through Dec. 31, 2007.

I wonder how many people besides me noticed that Romney REFUSED TO DISCLOSE that figure until he was forced to by the FEC filing rules for 4th qtr of 2007, which had to be filed on Jan. 31, 2008.

2). Romney’s campaign finance report shows disbursements of $86,068,239 as Dec. 31, 2007. I’m still hoping someone will count up how many primary votes Romney has bought in the states he’s “won” so far, and give us an average cost per vote…. and then compared with Mike Huckabee’s avg cost per vote.

3). As of Dec. 31, 2007, Romney and Huckabee’s cash-on-hand amounts were not that far apart. Mike showed a balance of $1,896,446, with NO DEBT, whereas Romney showed a balance of $2,431,447 (but IN THE RED to the tune of the afore-mentioned $35 million).

3). Romney has probably infused even MORE of his own moolah — LOTS more — but we won’t get to find out how much until after most of the primaries are over, when the 2008 first quarter reports are due.

————————————
More interesting info, that I haven’t seen reported anywhere else:

4). Of all Romney’s donations, the ones that were in amounts of LESS than $200 came to $7,951,152 or about 9% of his gifts.

Of all Romney’s donations, the ones that were in amounts of LESS than $200 came to $9,202,804 or about 20% of his gifts.

Of all Mike’s donations, the ones that were in amounts of LESS than $200 came to $3,169,998 or about 35% of his gifts.
——————————————–

Of all of Romney’s donations, the ones that were amounts of $2,000 or MORE came to $31,115,428, or about 35% of his incoming donations.

Mike Huckabee’s incoming donations that were in amounts over $2,000 came to $2,788,142, or about 30%.

Of all John McCain’s incoming donations, the ones that were in amounts of $2,000 or more came to $17,262,742 or about 42% of gifts to him. FOLLOW THE MONEY! Who’s buying him with these large donations? Who loves McCain that much?
—————————————

Romney’s total expenditures [$86,000,000] were about 12 times that of Huckabee’s, as of 12/31/07. But in national opinion polls by both Fox News and Pew Research posted Feb. 2, they are neck-and-neck.

McCain’s total expenditures were $38,000,000 or about 5.5 times that of Huckabee’s. (And that’s including the fact that McCain was becalmed in the water for late summer and early fall.)

Check out this NEWSWEEK article about McCain: http://www.newsweek.com/id/107581

How can anyone read this article and feel good about John McCain as president? He doesn’t like CRITICISM? What the HECK is he running for president for? There’s probably NO ONE in the world who attracts more criticism than the President of the US.

Do we want a president who’s going to look for revenge against every person, in and outside the US, who offends his “honor”? That’s FRIGHTENING!!

Let me just grab a few quotes from this article and you tell me if this is a man you really want running our country…

“…he can seem prickly, impetuous, vindictive—the sort of military martinet whose finger is supposed to be kept far from the button.”

“There are a number of U.S. senators who can attest to McCain’s repentance with handwritten apologies for his intemperance.”

NOTE: I’m sure a handwritten note of apology after a yelling, profanity-filled rant, to Putin or Almadinejad or al-Maliki will do wonders for US relations.

“As an angry toddler, he would hold his breath until he passed out (his parents’ cure was to drop him fully clothed into a bathtub of icy water).”

NOTE: So, this behavior is ingrained from birth.

“At Annapolis, he was, he writes, “a slob.” He looked for authorities to subvert, settling on a bullying, second-year midshipman he and his friends dubbed “Sh–––y Witty the Middy,” and making life miserable for a by-the-book captain who was supposed to discipline him.”

“…he was at best an average pilot, a daredevil, “kick-the-tires and light-the-fire” type who sacrificed careful preparation for more time at the O Club bar.”

“He writes that he should have jinked to evade the missile, but out of stubbornness, or a mad kind of bravery, he flew straight on and toggled the bomb switch—just as the missile blew off the right wing of his plane.”

NOTE: Think of the power the President holds. Do we want this kind of “stubborness”?

“…a number of senators and former lawmakers are still licking their wounds from run-ins with McCain.”

“”It’s sad, really,” says former senator Bob Smith of New Hampshire. “John McCain can tell a good joke and we can laugh, and I’ve had my share of good times with him.” That is the side of McCain, says Smith, that the press sees. But behind the scenes lurks a less amiable McCain. “You can disagree without being disagreeable,” says Smith. “And I don’t think John is able to do that. If he disagrees with you, he does it in a way that is disagreeable.”"

“The lore of “Senator Hothead,” as McCain has been dubbed over the years, is considerable. McCain is widely reported to have yelled profanities at senators and even shoved one or two (including the late Strom Thurmond, a feisty nonagenarian at the time of the alleged incident). After McCain used an obscenity to describe Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa to his face in 1992, Grassley did not speak to McCain for more than a year.”

“McCain snapped, “This is chickens–––.” Cornyn shot back that McCain shouldn’t come parachuting in off the presidential-campaign trail at the last minute and start making demands. “F––– you,” said McCain, in front of about 30 witnesses.”

“”I was surprised to find so many senators who’d had a personal experience when he’d lost his temper,” says Cochran. ”

“”I certainly know no other president since I’ve been here who’s had a temperament like that. There’s some who were capable of getting angry, of course. Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter both. But this …” His voice trailed away. “You like to think your president would be cool, calm and collected. He’s commander in chief.”"

“”McCain reacts poorly when criticized,” says Norquist. “When the NRA and the right-to-life and right-to-work groups criticized him, he reacted like they were personal attacks, and then he supported some gun-control legislation to get back at the NRA.”"

“McCain wound up in the office of the then Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, yelling at the top of his lungs, say a Pentagon official and an adviser to Rumsfeld who declined to be identified”

“McCain may have a bit of a vindictive streak. “John has an enemies list longer than Nixon’s,” says a former Pentagon official who did not want to get on it. “And, unlike Nixon, McCain really does try to get you.”"

“[McCain] snapped, “Don’t try to change my mind,” says a former aide who wished to avoid McCain’s wrath by remaining anonymous.”

“McCain’s leadership skills are called into question by the near meltdown of his campaign. “Nobody knew who the boss was,” says one of McCain’s longtime friends and advisers”

I TELL YOU… THE MAN DESCRIBED IN THIS ARTICLE SCARES ME!

The confusion many conservatives feel as to why the social conservative voter will not walk away from Huckabee is similar to the frustration and confusion most of society feels as they watch a battered woman who cannot walk out on her batterer. Politicians have become the voter’s savior, protector, everything.

Voters have been coddled and battered…coddled and battered…coddled and battered…until most voters have been rendered docile, dependent and with little self-confidence in making one of the most important political decision in their lives, how to pick a presidential candidate. Very important decisions affecting the voters’ lives happen regularly outside of the voter’s ability to change. Hence, the nearly complete dependence on “endorsements” from special…all knowing…super intelligences…to tell the voter who he/she should vote for.

The mere use of the term “poll’ by the media to mean a random sampling prediction and simultaneous use of the word “poll” to mean the legitimate voting place gives the hint of validity to the random poll. These sampling polls of complete strangers are lauded regularly by both the media and the general public leading the average voter to the belief that the polls are the absolute truth. Because of this belief millions of voters give up on election day and either stay away from the voting booth or change their vote to the “popular” choice under the misperception that otherwise their vote would be wasted. This base of highly emotional voters, that are led around by the nose, help to make that poll a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Just like when the batterer shows vulnerability to the battered woman and the woman rallies to offer the batterer comfort, Huckabee’s pleas concerning about what he deems an unfairness of the availability of campaign funds and his whining plea on national TV during the California elections to be “included” in the race has pulled the emotional social conservative like a rallying plea to come to his aid. Afterall, who but the frustrated and abandoned voter can better understand the feeling of his helplessness toward the political machine.

Clinton pulled voters to his side continually with “I feel your pain.” Similarly, a Mrs.Clinton evoked enough sympathy vote from the NH voters to ignore all national polls predicting an Obama win and rally to her defense effectively breaking the almighty poll fallacy. With the fall of the sanctity of poll results, came an immediate fear on the part of the political media machine. What if the voter escaped into reality and started to make rational decisions on their own? How could anyone “predict” what could happen next? The obvious confusion was both seen and heard in all forms of the media. Poll results were all over the board. Both sides of the political power machines scrambled. This had to be stopped. Polls were slowly brought back to conformity. Hillary would be the winner for the Democrats. McCain would be the winner for the Republicans. The political media machinery was back in action.

The consensus of the Republican base looks at the battered social conservative sitting on the Huckabee fence and does not understand why he/she will not jump off and land on either side. With the threat of another four to eight years of the Clintons in the White House a lot of conservative values are at stake. It remains to be seen if this group will remain in their comfort zone or take the leap. To do this the battered voter would have to gain enough independence to ignore all endorsements. (And Huckabee’s obvious stance toward McCain is an endorsement.), ignore all random sampling and polls, research the issues and vote their convictions. A perfect storm is brewing. It remains to be seen if there will be any destruction.

Hello..Hellloooo…I am sooo excited but afraid it might be slipping away..Although many of the
comments here gives me encouragement. I am so excited that first time in a very long time,
we finally have THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE TIMES” That is, for me and my die hard Democrat
blue collar, union man, is Mitt Romney..Even my Dem Husband realizes it’s the Economy Stupid!
We need to compete with the fast changing modern world for Jobs Jobs…Mitt Romney also
emphasizing importance of education to stay competitive in todays market..He is so descent and
honest. I couldn’t believe today, Super Bowl Sunday…wherby c-span was showing various
candidates and their rallys…and viewing Huckabee in Georgia, how mean spirited he was against
Mitt Romney..He has been but today was excenpionally mean..In the middle of his rally, he takes
the time to send a personal message to Mitt, and attaching success and how he and others like
him that try to buy people and own people and on and on and on..he might have spent 1/3 of
this time attaching Mitt…So imagine, some media person goes to Mitt in the middle of his rally
addressing serious issues and his plans for Economy and interrups him saying Huckabee is
attaching him…Is it the Republican way to attach success…Huckabee showed such disgust and
resentment for success, I was in shock!!…How is it that he attacks someone that has views that
so resembles his own..shocking too…Frankly, I am tired of Huckabee preaching to us..whereas
Mitt Romney has been inspiring and educational..When I listen to Huckabee, yes he has
Republican views but listen to him..He talks like a democrat when he uses examples in life etc.
Strange!!…I pray it is not too late for the sake of America and it’s people..I admire Sean Hannity
in having courage of those in the main media (tv) to come out and support Mitt…God Bless America.

Hi Cameron…
Today, you commented the outrageous remarks Huckabee made agains Romney as “tough stuff”
Cameron, you should report as it really is..It was not “tough stuff” that is misleading …You
should have said Huckabee was mean spirited and it was outrageous how he attacked Mitt
Romneys success by saying people like him buy others and try to own others…since when
success in America is a bad thing!!?…since when anyone who is a Republican believes success
is a bad thing??…I am so tired of main stream (especially the 3 channels that I watch) are
guiding the outcome of an election. Not given one side or another equal time. I am excited
for the first time in years, we have THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE TIMES.. It’s a gift…You know
yourself Cameron, Huckabee took about 1/3rd of his rally time attaching Romney..even sent
a personal attach message to Romney and some media person took it to Mitts rally and
interrupted him as he was talking about important issues and his plans..So rude!!…but as usual
Mitt handled it in a gentleman like manner, that he is…Cameron, before it’s too late, you also
should endorse Mitt Romeny before it’s too late for you, your family and America’s sake..

I remember the first man I voted for, for President:

-He was pretty old.
-He was a senator.
-He was a war veteran.
-He was not the most conservative candidate on the ticket.
-He was not really my favorite Republican candidate, but the media insisted he was the only one who could beat Clinton.
-He got his butt handed to him in the general election.
So what’s the moral of the story? Apparently that the Republican party has a memory span of less than ten years.

Vote Mitt Romney

The best way to stop Juan Mexicain tomorrow, which I am in the fullest support of, is for Mitt to win a lot of western states and Huckabee to pull several southern states. It will be shown then that McCain can be beat and is not the consensus choice that the media wants to portray. If Romney wins CA, and several other states, he will gain lots of delegates. Then if Huckabee can win several southern states, this also takes delegates from McCain. You need to realize there are a lot of Southern states where Romney simply can not win, which only plays into McCain’s hands. So if you’re in AL, GA, TN vote for Huckabee against McCain. If this happens when the dust settles, Romney will be the frontrunner and on the way to the nomination. I’m voting for Huckabee in AL tomorrow. I like him and Romney both, but I’m a realist and know there’s no way Romney can win here in AL. People have been saying a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. Well that’s true in CA but not in AL, GA, TN. A vote here for Romney is a vote for McCain.

And by the way, people keep saying it’s now a 2 man race. This is all spin. It’s still a 3 man race as Huckabee is still drawing lots of support in many states. He polls better against Clinton and Obama both than Romney does in the theoretical presidential polls. He’s not getting a fair shot in the media and he did not get a fair shot in the last debate. I went to see him speak Saturday and among many other things he said ‘don’t let the media tell you who to vote for’. This is a great point. It is truly sad how much influence Fox, CNN, NBC have on the election process. There should be in my opinion less dates for primaries so we can’t have all the spin and so called ‘front running’ band wagons of the media. Vote for who you like best, (just don’t vote for Mexicain).

By the way, me saying Romney can’t win in the southern states isn’t meant to be prejucided, it’s simply a fact. It’s like saying that many conservatives will never vote for McCain, it’s simply the lay of the land.

Throughout all of the old school dirty tricks McCain has used and Huckabee has echoed, Romney has remained the happy warrior. He has taken the high road. Any American who has paid attention can see this. Super Tuesday Voters: please look track records of the candidates throughout their terms in office. Don’t be swayed by images. Consider the words the candidates themselves have spoken and not what others have spoken against them. When you do, I hope you will conclude as I have that Mitt Romney has the character and integrity to be our president. We wish you all the best Mitt! ROMNEY ‘08!!!!

Today Rush Limbaugh is criticizing Huckabee for being a Left Wing Conspiracy Theorists in regards to the remarks made the other day about the connection between Sean Hannity and Clear Channel, which is either owned or being bought by Bain Capital (Mitt Romney’s company). Thats what people do who run for office…….LIE and SAY ANYTHING TO GET ELECTED……then they do nothing that they promise before the elections……
I am a Conservative but will prob. not even vote, it would go against every fiber of my moral being to vote for anyone thats running this go around.
The Congress runs this country, the Supreme Court now makes all the laws (not the Legislative Branch)
People who want change for this country had better wise up and get rid of everyone in office who has been there more than 2 terms in Congress and the House (and all advisers under them) or the corruption will never go away!

Sheesh! When will everyone WAKE UP!

Let’s examine some of the top issues among the two leading Republican candidates:

Bush Tax Cuts – McCain voted against them twice on liberal class warfare arguments that they gave too much to the rich. He has since lied that his opposition was tied to spending concerns. McCain can’t be trusted on tax cuts. Romney will never make this same argument.

Decision: Romney

Earmark Reform and Spending: BOTH Romney and McCain support vetoing bills with ear-marks. McCain can point to a few he’s killed, but in 24 years in the Senate he hasn’t done much to improve the overall situation. Romney, on the other hand, has *proven* an ability to balance a budget–including the one with a $3B gap in MA. Romney has already put out his position regarding holding non-defense spending at inflation less 1%. Further, he has astutely pointed out that the bigger problem is not the pork-barrel spending but the mess known as entitlement spending.

Decision: Romney, but McCain does get points for expressing strong opposition to pork-barrel spending

Judges: Despite his recent pledge to appoint Conservative judges, McCain has ridiculed Roberts for “wearing his Conservatism on his sleeve” and continues to love Sandra Day O’Connor. Romney is no fan of O’Connor and has expressed strong support for Alito and Roberts.

Decision: Romney

Trade and the Economy: McCain doesn’t hold a candle to Romney when it comes to understanding economics. He’s even admitted multiple times he doesn’t know much about economics. He’s never managed anything. In stark contrast, Romney has a stellar career of accomplishments.

Decision: Romney

Healthcare: McCain doesn’t hold a candle to Romney when it comes to understanding healthcare. I don’t know that I’ve ever even heard him utter the words. Romney is the only candidate of either party that has actually tackled this problem. Considering the Democrats have made this one of their leading issues, doesn’t it make sense to put up a candidate that can take this issue away. They can speculate all they want. Romney has already done it. Decision:

Romney

National Security: McCain clearly has military experience that Romney does not. He also has more experience with foreign policy. True. Romney, on the other hand, has much better temperament and has shown outstanding decision making ability throughout his career. Further, many have suggested he understands the current struggle against radical jihadists much better than most politicians. It’s no secret the Democrats will try to hang McCain with the war. Their base is extremely opposed and after Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld McCain is the highest profile poster child for the war.

Decision: Split, but leans toward Romney once you take it to the national election.

On six of the top seven issues, Romney is clearly more qualified than McCain and the seventh is even a toss-up.

Mitt Romney – a PROVEN LEADER with the EXPERIENCE to tackle and solve the problems Washington has left undone.

I have been leaning for Mitt for a couple of weeks but the recorded call I just got sealed the deal. I’m voting for Mitt.

I have received 5 recorded calls in the last 3 days. 3 for Mitt, 2 for McCain. 2 of the Mitt calls were “here’s what I stand for…please support me” one was Santorum saying how lib McCain was. One of the McCain calls was Cindy saying what McCain stood for.

The last call (about 15 minutes ago) was a run-on pack of lies about Mitt treating me like I was too stupid to make up my own mind, ending with “don’t be fooled!”

I expected it to be paid for by some PAC but it stated “paid for by John McCain for President.

Well, Senator, I won’t be fooled. I’m backing Mitt.

John McCain, A Threat To Our National Security
by Ivan Mack

Most conservative republicans have been worried about John McCain’s stances on fiscal, social and economic issues and how he doesn’t relate to the conservative base on those points. Although these worries are legitimate and something conservative voters must consider serious, they must also realize that this isn’t all. John McCain has not only proven bad on many conservative fiscal, social and economic issues, but is proving to be a serious threat to our nation’s security.

Before you discount the points about to be made, please know and understand that each point will be based on fact and information that John McCain has been very vocal about. Everything said has to do with things that John McCain has said in open forums and can be substantiated on many accounts.

John McCain has touted his goodwill towards terrorist by criticizing any type of strong interrogation tactics. He has been loud in letting people know that he has heard the anti-American sentiment and feels it better to bring terrorist prisoners, awaiting questioning, onto American soil rather than have them in Cuba at Guantanamo Bay (Gitmo). He said- “I would immediately close Guantanamo Bay, move all the prisoners to Fort Leavenworth (an army base in Kansas) and truly expedite the judicial proceedings in their cases,”
Some of the interrogation tactics used at Gitmo have been dubbed as cruel and inhumane. His aggression towards those who believe such interrogation tactics are necessary is fueled by his own experiences while a POW in Vietnam. He mutters words of his horrible experiences and argues that no man should have to suffer as he did. His reasoning is much like his democrat comrade in that their ability to define torture and successful interrogation tactics is skewed. He might as well reason that war all together is wrong and the killing of terrorist is inhumane. Has killing ever been considered “humane”?
Logic tells me that when it comes to my life, my friends, my families and other American citizens lives we need to do anything and everything we can to keep our people safe! There is a difference between tearing people’s limbs off and using calculated interrogation tactics to get information. The bottom line is that we should always error on the side of preserving US citizen lives and stop worrying about how murderous terrorist are feeling in prison at Guantanamo Bay. Without successful interrogation of prison terrorists we risk the chance of another attack and losing American citizen lives.

The other danger of John McCain is his inability to understand that in order for terrorists to attack on our borders they have to first come through our borders. Again, touting his goodwill, McCain is now infamous amongst conservatives in the know for being the author of one of the most comprehensive amnesty bills that would allow illegal non-US citizens to obtain citizenship in almost a moments notice. The danger doesn’t lie within the amnesty, but in the message that it sends to people throughout the world. The flood gates would open and there would be an immediate influx of people on all sides and borders entering the United States.
Although McCain would now argue that he believes that securing the border is what needs to be done first, this point was never highlighted until he began running for presidency while depending on the vote of conservative republicans. When asked if he would now or later support his amnesty bill he is insistent on pointing out that he believes border security first, while altogether avoiding answering the original question of whether he would still support the bill.
If and when a terrorist attack occurs it wouldn’t be unwise to suggest that it will be in large part because of our weak border policies and our inability to curb a problem that has been past due for decades. John McCain stands in the way of stopping this problem and national security threat by holding strong to the McCain/Kennedy amnesty bill. Amnesty rhetoric only fuels the problem and increases the chance of such attacks happening on American soil.

As outrageous as this may sound, John McCain wants to join the international criminal court (ICC) so that foreigners can try our soldiers and people as war criminals. Not only does this sound like a conspiracy and something that would get out of hand, but it is something that would enable other countries part of the ICC to have power and control over US citizens leading to politically motivated charges. Our conservative values state that we need to reduce government and the control government has over our lives, as this will eventually lead to a socialist/communist style of government. This type of Clintonesque political speak is something that is encouraging to terrorists giving them hope and a sense of welcome into scrutinizing our western civilized ways. By joining ICC we are essentially dividing this nation rather than uniting it and creating a bureaucracy for terrorists to use as a platform.

Part of our ability to stay safe in this world has to do with our ability to establish allies and have good working relations with other countries. We need to have someone who is a diplomat and understands how to work with people from all walks of life, even when the situation gets tense and heated. The ability to act as a diplomat and win over leaders of other countries has in large part to do with our Presidents personality, temperament and interpersonal relations with leaders of other countries. This must be done through persuasion and trust. This can only be achieved through having a record showing honesty, integrity and temperance when dealing with other people. John McCain’s record in politics and in his interpersonal relations has been less than stellar. It is evident through numerous people’s accounts about his intemperate “red-faced” tirades, his involvement in scandal (Keating 5) and Clintonesque twisting and misguiding of other people’s words makes him a sure candidate of mistrust. Although he is willing to “Maverick” his way into the populist anti-American sentiment, he is quick to show his defensive nature when legitimate accusations are made against him. America needs a President who possesses Reaganesque qualities, someone who understands when to be strong and when to hold back. These and other qualities will keep America’s foreign relations strong and ultimately keep us safe and supported.

When it comes to McCain’s willingness to fight a battle it’s easy to see that McCain would react fast and harsh after the fact; but at that point it would be too late. His terrorist “goodwill”, liberal rhetoric, and socialist thinking will enable terrorist with more abilities to carry out an attack on American soil. Our national security is at risk with John McCain in the white house.

McCain just doesn’t do it for me – smug, snide, and when he says “listen, my friend,” with dripping acid, I don’t think I want to be his friend. Mitt Romney is the candidate with the intelligence, integrity, and thoughtful approach to problem solving that this country desparately needs! As you follow the current conflagration over the new budget, the problem is the HEAVY load of entitlements that must be managed in a way that they do not bankrupt our country. Romney is the only candidate talking about this critical issue and the only one I trust to do anything about it. Go MITT!!!

Cameron, instead of pandering to McCain, why don’t you ask him some real questions? What would he do about our huge entitlements problem? What is his plan? Does he have a clue?

I hope and pray people vote tomorrow knowing their candidates and their doubletalk. Mitt Romney is the most intelligent, level-headed, compassionate candidate and will make the most effective President. The other’s all have serious corruption (excluding Obama) questions and Mitt Romney feels as I do with terrorism and corruption around the world. McCain has an explosive anger issue, same as Hillary and her stupid husband..and were going to trust them with their finger on the button, when they are so out of control most times. I do not want other countries dealing with HillBilly over security issues for monies, or McCain not able to speak with integrity on foreign soil. I really believe this man would trash America while he’s trying to save it and blame everything on previous administrations. I feel sorry that McCain was a prisoner of war, but life goes on. My uncle was shot down and killed over the English Channel in WW11, but, what it takes is someone humble enough regarding his imprisonment not constantly telling people he’s the best because he was a prisoner. That is ‘feel sorry for me’ please, I’m the best there is. He is arrogant and takes glee in hurting others….he’s disingenuous, careless and completely puffed up with pride of himself. If you look in the Bible, one of man’s greatest sins is his puffed up opinion of himself…called pride.

You have been tricked and I’m afraid you have been lied to. You need to Google Bain Capitol and read a little more instead of jumping to conclusions, unless of course these are the lies you choose to believe.

Clear Channel radio was purchased in November of 2006. Mitt Romney left 100% control in 2001 after leaving the company in 1999. The Boston Globe has an article dated Aug 23, 2001 that states:

W. Mitt Romney is quitting Boston-based Bain Capital, the $13 billion investment firm he started with $35 million in 1984. The son of a former governor and himself a presidential candidate is going into politics in either Massachusetts or Utah after he completes work helping organize next year’s Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.

Romney, 54, is giving up his 100 percent control of Bain Capital to 26 managing directors. The firm has made 170 venture and buyout investments in companies like pizza delivery chain Domino’s Pizza Inc., brokerage Datek Online Holdings Corp. and retailers Staples Inc. and the Sports Authority Inc.,

Before taking the Olympics job, Romney previously interrupted his business career in 1994 for a failed bid as Republican challenger to Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Mitt has not been involved with Bain for many years and this is just another ploy to get you to think that Sean and Rush have been bought out. It is bull and Sean even said so today on his radio show. Do not belive the lies, you’re smarter than that.

Carl Cameron is an embarrassment to objective reporting. His man crush on McCain and dislike for Romney are obvious. He has a stupid smug look that goes right along with the candidate that he pampers so much. Well now that we have three democrats left as viable candidates what do us conservatives do?
