McCain clips Obama’s “fired up and ready to go” line

At the conclusion of his victory remarks in Alexandria, Va tonight John McCain used Barack Obama’s famous line “fired up and ready to go!” This after McCain on the Senate floor today made a show of crossing the aisle into democratic territory to shake hands, back-slap, and trade campaign trail stories with Obama!

The two mention one another almost daily now. Obama, in his victory remarks from Madison Wisconsin tonight, praised McCain’s military service even as he bashed McCain’s policies as out of date and out of touch. McCain writes off Obama and Clinton, et al, as defeatocrats.

There were a few nervous moments for McCainiacs as the Virginia returns were tabulated but otherwise it was a big night. He erases embarrassing setbacks in La. and Ks. over the weekend. He has over 800 delegates by all counts now. He is probably only 250 delegates away from clinching the nomination.

Is he impatient for Mike Huckabee to bow out? YOU BET! Huckabee’s continued presence in the race keeps alive the discussion of McCain’s weak support among strong conservatives. When Huckabee is finally gone conservative carping will further diminish for lack of a McCain alternative and the unification process will progressively accelerate. Will some conservatives NEVER back McCain? Probably. But don’t underestimate the potential for that to change. When those same conservatives are confronted with an imminent election of Obama or Clinton, they may see things differently.
Huckabee will focus on Texas and Ohio for the next few weeks. That’s going to force McCain to continue to campaign as opposed to taking a victory lap and starting the general election organizational push we described in earlier posts.

With all due respect to the spectacular campaign that McCain so understandably praises at every opportunity…McCain is the presumptive nominee now and barring a catastrophic change Huckabee is not going to win.

McCain has much work to do and for now is not yet free of the HUCK! Once again proving that the grassroots are never to be underestimated.

Seeing Huckabee falter caused my wife and I to consider what we would do should he lose the nomination — which looks all too likely. We have no respect for John McCain and were glad to see Romney leave. So we checked into the Ron Paul site as a sort of protest, but now we want to support him in earnest. We have defected.

With McCain’s clean sweep of the three primaries today Huckabee is 100% eliminated and like it or not John McCain is the GOP nominee.

Huckabee needs to immediately back off from his senseless fight against the Republican nominee so the GOP can begin the work of organizing for a huge battle with the Democrats. If Huckabee and Paul stay in they are harming the party and reducing the chance that conservatives will have a voice in the White House next year.

McCain is not my ideal nominee either, but that’s who conservatives have to work with this season. The Democrats are the enemy now, not fellow Republicans. Let’s get with the program…

Why are americans supporting McCain.
Mick is(was) the man.
Voting McCain into office would be preserving the status quo.

I know for a fact that America is not ready for the baracks and the hillaries but this level of not wanting change in unfounded.

McCain threw that line out there last night and got his supporters fired up, but it doesnt change the fact that anyone can fire up a crowd on any given night. Even Ron Paul has supporters that cheer for him still. Unfortunately for McCain, he cant give the fire power and the energy that Barack Obama can give. He couldnt even keep up with Hillary on the ability to rev up a crowd. He sounds tired and weak in his speeches. If he intends on pulling independants and new and young voters, he is going to have to find a way to rev-up his speeches and get a crowd buzzing the way Obama can. With all the buzz and hype that Obama brings to the table, that will clearly pull independents and quite possibly true conservatives to the democratic side during the general election. Obama is making this exciting and I’m sorry to say McCain is not capable, as of yet.

Perhaps McCain is getting ready to pick Obama as his running mate if Hillary gets the nod from the Dems. ;)

Why wouldn’t McCain steal lines from Obama? Obama is the only candidate with fresh idea’s and rhetoric. McCain and Clinton are simply trotting out the same old stale message that’s been a part of the political scene for better than 20 years now.

Still, I feel sorry for McCain who is a true American Hero. All of the rightwing nutjobs like Coulter, Hannity and Limbaugh are smearing this man’s reputation. We should all remember that while John McCain sat in cell in the Hanoi Hilton as a P.O.W., Rush Limbaugh was making his successful attempt at dodging the draft because of a pimple on his butt. That irony thing bites really hard.

JM is now in a position to begin picking BO apart
Something that all have been hesitant to do yet
Hillary is limited to what she and Bill can and cant do or say but JM doesn’t have to give a hoot if the BOS are offended
I am a Hillary supporter but would have no problem with JM over BO
I am too old to be fooled by a goo talker
Many men can talk a good talk but have nothing to back it up
BO talked last night as if he was running against JM how arrogant is that
The dem primaries are far from over and he acts as if they are
BO doesn’t decide when its over
But let him keep bashing JM he will get more than he can handle in return
And I doubt after the the tasteless remarks BOS wife has made as of late that he will get any back up from the Clinton’s
Why should they do any thing but let JM tear him up
Maybe they would have to think about supporting BO ya know his policies his tone etc too funny
Maybe JM doesn’t approve of the way BO runs his house even funnier

This election is crazy! I am an independent voter. So looking from the outside…There is no way MCCain can win against any Democrat. Heaven help us when a Democrat gets in. Hoping for a third party!!!!!! How about Lou Dobbs????

Don’t worry McCain– Obama stole Hillary’s campaign logo also and he has no problem running with it. The problem is, Obama can’t think for himself so he has to use everyone elses ideas and strategy. He also copied most of his speeches and campaign logo’s out of JFK’s book, almost word for word. How original is that?

Comment by david

i suspect Obama is not the first to have used the line “fired up and ready to go.”

I think MSM and talking heads have really missed the mark about Mike. His records were completely mistorted and misjudged. Now media has like brainwashed everyone about Mike. First they all think he is a religious freak. He is religious but there is a WHOLE lot more to him if people would just listen!! Fixing the borders(which no one else will) FAIR trade instead of FREE trade(not one has said anything about this, FAIR TAX (that will bring jobs back to the US) and the number one thing*******McCain , Hillary and Obama all have ties to the CFR****** MIKE OPPOSES THIS. Does everyone know about CFR????? Globalization “MY FRIEND” Meaning one world government and NORTH AMERICAN UNION. Why do yo think Bush has waited to put up the border fence?? He is suppose to meet this spring with Canada and Mexico and try to push this through before he leaves. I really wish people would seriously check their candidates out before it is too late. Mike hasn’t had to chance in this race from day one…WHY?? Big government, power, and greed keeping him down. They know he is a big threat to them. Think about it and check out your candidates.

McCain’s Navy Service
« on: February 07, 2008, 03:48:36 am »
——————————————————————————–
Crashed 5 jets, plus was responsible for the Forrestal fire. Surviving crewmen and those who investigated the Forrestal fire case reported that McCain deliberately ‘wet-started’ his A-4E Skyhawk to shake up the guy in the F-4 Phantom behind his A-4. ‘Wet-starts’, done either deliberately (the starter motor switch allowed kerosene to pool in the engine and give a wet start) or accidentally, shoot a large flame from the tail of the aircraft. In McCain’s case, the ‘wet-start’ ‘cooked off’ and launched the M34 Zuni rocket from the rear F-4 that punctured the Skyhawk’s fueltank, knocked the M-65 1000 lb bomb off it’s 500 lb rated mount, and touched off the explosions and massive fire. The F-4 pilot was reportedly killed in the conflagration, along with 167 of his fellow Forrestal shipmates (including those who died later from wounds suffered). ‘Wet starting’ was a common practice among young ‘hot-dog’ pilots. McCain was quickly (they were still counting the Forrestal dead) transferred to the USS Oriskany (the only Forrestal crewman to be immediately transferred).
Description: XA4D-1 Skyhawk BuNo 137812 experiencing a wet start (note the pool of JP on the ground and the tongue of flame from the tailpipe).

Obama won three states yesterday 2/12/08, so I watched his speech….It’s amazing to me as an intelligent woman, how he’s just strategically, on purpose, fully aware, following a Martin Luther King, format to empower the people. When a nation is sad he knows exactly what they need: a pep talk, a promise of hope, a lifting of the soul. I saw people roar of emotion for 45 minutes. Perhaps people see Hillary as just a walking suit, listing the issues and how she would tackle each one, but for 45 minutes straight, Obama never once even touched on one issue, let alone how he would solve them. It’s sad to see a nation falling for emotional pep talks from a much too young mind and man who’s just dreaming the dream but has no idea how to solve them. On the other hand here we have Hillary with a Masters on Health Reform from Harvard not to mention a Law Degree on the side to, 8 years Experience in the White House learning/working hand on hand with Clinton, 6 years as a U.S. Senator, and people are still trying to decide who’s the best person for the job? It’s a NO BRAINER even if just by logic. I don’t know what people are doing… just because Hillary is actually focusing on the issues and not on our broken hearts we find her unfit? This opportunity that will never come back, it’s great to be sheered up when we’re down and people like Obama are really good at that, but when he sits in office is his job on TV giving us great empowerment speeches, or is his job to sit in office and solve issues I guess that’s when we’ll wake up and regret not having Hillary Clinton. The woman who actually went to school to CHANGE a nation in her twenties around the 1970’s that’s way before Obama decided to focus on CHANGE 6 months ago. TEXAS please Vote Right!

So What! That is the biggest news he has to share with us from Tuesday.

Many people say that. Occasionally, we unconconsiously say something we’ve heard, but it isn’t meant to be offensive or to be taking away from anyone, like “Let’s Roll.” Some people think they are the only ones who ever say that. No body really cares about this.

I am a Huckabee supporter, and Romney’s endorsement of McCain does not persuade me to change my mind. When I heard Huckabee tell Sean Hannity tonight that he was still in the race, I cheered!! Those of us behind Huckabee are still passionate. Go to MikeHuckabee.com and see the comments and enthusiasm. Why am I still excited about Huckabee? He is the only candidate who has creative solutions to this country’s problems, like health care and the fair tax. He is the most qualified with 10 and 1/2 years as governor, with conservative principles of small government, lower taxes, keeping America safe, and will fight for the rights of the unborn and traditional marriage. He is also the best communicator, and how I would love to hear him debate Hillary or Obama!

I hope Huckabee takes his campaign all the way to the convention. If McCain does not get the 300+ votes he needs before that, maybe then the people who like Mike but think he is unelectable, will think differently. Whatever happens, I will support Huckabee to the end! I am still waving my pom poms!!!!!!

A faithful Huckabee supporter and will stay that way. The only candidate that serves meat with his potatoes. Serving up the only full course but nobody wants a sit down meal. Some candidates are like a happy meal you get a drive thru with a prize inside, others the deli submarine that you pick your “healthy” toppings and choice of speciality bread, then we have the fine dining conservative wtih white linen tie required taking reservations to get a table, for an over priced pc of lettuce. Huckabee is the only home cooked all course sit down around the table, good for us family dinner. Serving the people.
