Delegate Counts Show McCain With the Decisive Lead

After the sweep by Obama and McCain in the Potomac Primaries the latest delegate count by Real Clear Politics shows McCain has about 3/4 of the needed delegates and Huckabee has less than one quarter.

The actual delegate count is completely vague. Each campaign on both sides counts delegates differently. The AP and various networks have differing numbers too. On the democratic side, it is clear that Obama has the lead but by how much is the subject of debate and super delegates which are available only for the democratic contest are another story entirely.

We have a saying around here. And I want to send this out to every member of the media. “DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS!” You’ve been telling us since Feb. 5 that the race is over. That we have no legitimate choice. That our opinion and our votes here in Texas don’t matter. That we have to accept the nominee that YOU have decided upon.

Well, that dog just won’t hunt!

You’ve been telling us for over a week that McCain is all but mathematically the winner. That we must accept him as the representative of our party. That slowly but surely, the party is rallying around him. WHAT?? While you painted this gloom and doom picture for Mike Huckabee’s candidacy, 200,000 Virginians turned out to cast their vote for Mike. Are you impressed CNN, FOX, MSNBC? Just wait till you see what Texas does!

Mike Huckabee has ignited the passion of millions of Americans. Men and women of faith are rising up in support of Gov. Huckabee. Citizens fed up with the bloated tax system in the country are wanting a Fair Tax solution. We want no more lies and promises from our government. And we want moral leadership in the White House.

I urge all true conservatives in this country to take a look at Mike Huckabee’s record and stated beliefs, and tell me which one he falls to the left of John McCain on. There is none.

THIS RACE IS NOT OVER. And if we want a moral, honest, conservative voice to lead our party and our country it is not too late. I urge everyone in the remaining states to vote for Mike Huckabee. And when this reaches the convention floor, I urge all Romney and Paul delegates, as well as those uncommitted, and delegates who supported JM because the media told you that’s what you needed to do, to cast your vote for Mike Huckabee. Then and only then, will we have a chance to prevent a four-year tailspin this country will fall into under the “leadership” of one of two far-left liberal politicians who would defeat John McCain in a landslide.

There was a time in my youth when elections weren’t called until all of the votes were counted. Then the media started jumping the gun and calling elections before the poles even closed. We stood up and said “You are abusing your responsibilities to the public.” And they were forced to change their ways. Well now some time has passed, and once again the media wants to call an election over before everyone has had a chance to vote.

My vote WILL be counted. My voice WILL be heard. And Mike Huckabee WILL lead this country back to where it belongs.

As an entrepreneur and small business owner, it seems natural that I would be a conservative Republican. I have voted Republican in every Presidential election since Ronald Reagan in 1980. I climbed the corporate ladder through the Reagan ‘80s and benefited from his policies and his leadership in the country. When he stood up and supported George H. W. Bush with his speech at the Republican convention I was in Hawaii with my wife celebrating our 10th anniversary. I remember his speech well and was proud to be a Reagan-Bush supporter. Listening to that speech, I knew that I was in the right camp.

I discovered Rush Limbaugh in 1991 leading up to the 1992 Presidential election. Like many, at first, I thought that he was an arrogant, pompous ass. Yet, my love for the newly minted talk-radio genre kept me tuning in. I had several talk show hosts that I listened to on a regular basis. Many of them ultimately faded away, but Rush stayed strong and I was a regular listener. Rush had won me over. I considered myself a ditto-head.

I first saw Mike Huckabee on Meet the Press in January 2007 announcing his run for President of the United States. My first impression was that he resembled Richard Nixon in appearance, and that his run for the Whitehouse as an unknown Governor from Arkansas was probably a pipe dream. But, as a political junkie and an avid fan of Meet the Press, I continued to listen to the Governor speak, and I found that I agreed with his positions on all of the issues — every single one. After the interview, I told my wife that I was very impressed with this man and that I felt he would make an excellent President.

Months passed before I heard about Mike Huckabee again. He never (or rarely) made the talk radio show circuit and I don’t recall seeing him on any of the cable news stations. I think the next time that I saw Mike Huckabee was during one of the first Republican primary debates in the spring/summer of 2007. Once again, Mike Huckabee impressed me with his stances on the issues and the way he connects with people when he speaks, so I began to research the Governor further.

Much to my dismay, there were a number of internet sites and articles which would lead you to believe that Mike was not the true conservative that he made himself out to be. These sites would have you believe that Mike was soft on immigration, soft on school choice, soft on crime. They would have you believe that Mike was a social conservative but a fiscal liberal. I read all the articles from Club for Growth and others and I took the bait.

With Mike out of the picture, I was not happy with the remaining candidate selection. Rudy was too liberal on social issues; McCain too liberal on taxes and immigration issues; Romney, a “born-again” social conservative; Thompson not yet in the race; and, Hunter and Tancredo – well…. unknown. With no real favorable options I looked at Ron Paul. I went through the issues, and like Mike Huckabee, I agreed with nearly every position that Ron Paul espoused; smaller government, lower taxes, state’s rights, nearly every position – except one – national security. How could anyone not understand that Islamic-Fascists are not, and never will be, our friends? That was a deal-breaker.

Back to square one.

After another debate or two, I began to look into Mike Huckabee once again. I found out that Time Magazine named him one of the top 5 Governors during his tenure. I found out that Mike was not for illegal alien amnesty, but in Arkansas was for educating the children of illegal aliens. If the federal government is not going to deport all of the illegal aliens, why not at least educate them so that they are productive, taxpaying residents of the state rather than a tax burden? How can you disagree with that logic? I also found out that Mike didn’t pardon Wayne Dumond, that Dumond was actually paroled – there was so much false information trying to paint this man as a liberal – so many half-truths being told.

Once again – I found my guy. At that point, I did something that I have never done before in any Presidential election. I donated to Mike’s campaign.

I followed the debates through the summer and early fall; and, in each debate, Mike either won the debate outright or came in a close second. No matter what the telephone polls or internet polls said about Ron Paul being the winner, Mike was the clear winner in most of them. Even though the media limited his time (and the other so-called 2nd tier candidates) and tried to paint Mike as the Christian candidate by feeding him all of the religious questions, there were times where Mike was able to deliver his message on the other important issues.

The debates made a difference, Mike began to rise in the polls and he was starting to raise some real money. He raised more in the third quarter than he had raised in the first two quarters of his campaign. By this time I had donated to his campaign 3 or 4 times. Although he was raising real money now, it was still dwarfed by the likes of Romney and Giuliani; but, be that as it may, the so-called “Huckaboom” had begun. People liked Mike’s message and the other candidates had to stand up and take notice. And boy, did they take notice. Fred Thompson, having entered the race as the so-called “true conservative”, launched the first salvo in an attack ad during the CNN/You Tube debate. Romney followed suit with attack ads in Iowa, of which in my opinion, were full of half-truths. The Club for Growth sponsored many anti-Mike ads using funds from Romney supporters. Yet, still, Mike prevailed and won the Iowa Republican primary.

New Hampshire was not expected to be one of Mike’s best primary states, being so close to Romney territory and of a liberal nature, and McCain and Romney were expected to do fairly well. Mike was polling very well in South Carolina, Florida, Texas and other southern states. With Rasmussen showing Huckabee in the lead nationally, it looked as though he had a fair chance of winning the Republican nomination; but, then came the onslaught of Huckabee-bashing (and McCain-bashing) by the right-wing media.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham and others started their attacks on Mike Huckabee and John McCain; again, painting both of these fine men as liberals. It was obvious to anyone listening that these hosts preferred Thompson, Giuliani or Romney over either Mike or McCain. The attacks were relentless. At first, Rush was allowing Huckabee supporters through on the phones to talk and rebut him on his Huckabee stance. It also seemed clear to me that Rush was truly uninformed on Huckabee’s record and even though he was painting him as a liberal, he had not performed the research to ascertain for himself where Mike really stood on the issues. It seemed as though he had been ill-informed about Mike Huckabee and his true conservative positions. It wasn’t long before it appeared that Rush felt this to be counter-productive to his cause and very few Huckabee supporters seemed to make it through his screeners. Rush has stated many times on his show that he does not endorse candidates during the primaries. However, it was obvious through his anti-endorsements who were his favorites – Thompson, Romney, and Giuliani.

Mike Huckabee has been marginalized by an out-right smear campaign. Romney, the Club for Growth, and the right wing talk radio show hosts have done their best to bring this man down. Now, they ask that he kindly step aside to allow Romney to become our nominee. I am so glad that the Governor has decided to stay in this race. If Governor Huckabee is not successful at getting the nod for the Republican party or a VP slot that he is more than qualified to hold, he would make an excellent conservative talk radio show host to fill the void left by the Huckabee supporters that feel so disenfranchised by the likes of Rush, Sean, Igraham, Beck and the so-called other conservative hosts. Folks, you reap what you sow.

What this reporter fails to realize is that it’s not about “Math”, it’s about “Character”. Huckabee supports are very likely to stay home — they don’t like McCain, Hillary or Obama. So, while Math may not be on Hucks side, his supporters ARE! And, they’re not budging.

The GOP has a problem. They haven’t addressed “Why” Huckabee has so much appeal. They keep saying it’s those pesky “Evangelicals” — but, I’ve read the exit polls and those Evangelicals are splitting their votes — so, Huckabee’s appeal cannot be dismissed as merely bringing out the Evangelical vote.

What you are seeing is a revolution — the GOP faithful are not happy with the GOP Elite. We don’t want a candidate “selected” for us — and we really don’t care for the Candidates who say and do anything to be elected. We are especially tired of candidates who refuse to listen to us — remember the border fence — just when are they going to build it????? “They” have stopped listening to “us” and stopped representing “us”. And, you are witnessing the tug of war in this primary — that’s why Huckabee has so much support!

What the GOP has on its hands, is something they don’t recognize — a GOOD MAN. Which is why Huckabee appeals to so many GOOD PEOPLE. You don’t see sleeze, and compromise when you look at Huckabee. You see a Good Man that is TRUSTWORTHY. A man whos political record is amazing — taking a state from $200 million in debt and leaving it with $800 million in the bank. What Huckabee represents is HOPE!!!!

Now, that’s Unique in Politics — and that’s why Huckabee has energized the Voters. McCain just doesn’t have this appeal — neither do the rest of the candidates. So, if the GOP would like to win the White House, they need to look to Huckabee. His supporters are Mobilized, and they’re not budging. They are not ALL going to fall in line and vote for McCain, if he should win the nomination.

I do believe some will “hold their nose” and vote for whoever the nominee is — just to vote “against” Hillary or Obama. But, I predict Not Enough will bother to vote. They will be too disappointed with the GOP’s destruction of Huckabee’s Campaign. Just as they refuse to vote for the “anointed” McCain — I predict they will continue to protest and stay home in November.

But, it’s not too late. The Huckabee supporters can be won over — just as soon as Huckabee is taken seriously by the GOP and included on the ticket.

John McCain ain’t no conservative ! John McCain want’s to give Juan Valdez amnesty. He want’s everyone to work at Taco Bell after he gets rid of all our middle class jobs. McCain ain’t gonna clamp down our borders because he takes his marching orders from Mexico and the open borders lobby. McCain never met an illegal alien he didn’t like ! I bet the only way McCain would care is if the illegal alien mobs came to his home and ate all his food and then camped out in his living room ! McCain will fly the Mexican Flag over the White House and give The State Of The Broken Union speech in spanish only. America saved McCain but will McCain save America? Nope! He will save his business buddies who want record profits and poverty labor even if it means erasing the United States that he claims to cherish so dearly. Feel the pain and vote for Johnny McCain !

The U.S. will be a welfare nation where nobody works and everyone will be getting a government check, government health care, government media and much much more. URGENT NOTE TO ALL HUCKABEE SUPPORTERS:

“ITS NOT OVER IF ITS BROKERED!”

If we started pushing that line out there… it would
FORCE into the political debate the discussion of
brokered conventions. I suggest here that we
tactically say this as often as possible in the media
and in EVERY BLOG POST we make anywhere.
This will help us get the pundits talking about the
BLOCK 1191 option. Simply getting that discussion
rolling I believe will create a grassfire of debate
about how McCain NEED NOT BE inevitable. We could even
put together an ad that says… McCain not your man? Its
not over if its brokered… Vote Huckabee for
Conservatism and force a brokered Convention!
I think we can widen our base of support by literally
explaining to people HOW we can block McCain and still
elect Mike. But we must inject this line into the
debate and SHOW people how this can be done.
Amidst chants of ” ITS NOT OVER IF ITS BROKERED! ”
Rove and the rest of the soothsayers will be FORCED
to mention that Huckabee can still win if noone gets
1191 before the convention.
“ITS NOT OVER IF ITS BROKERED!” SCREAM IT! POST IT
BELIEVE IT!
Lastly, we can challenge talk radio to PUT UP OR SHUT
UP for conservatism. They routinely claim they want to
save conservatism from McCains moderate views….well we
can CHALLENGE them to endorse Huckabee for the cause
of conservatism and a brokered convention. We can call
on them to rally people to vote for a brokered
convention by voting for Huckabee. If they refuse to
back Governor Huckabee… we can tell the talk radio
crowd that their conservatism is just that…TALK. They
need to endorse Huckabee if they want the fire of
conservatism within the GOP to keep burning. Mike
Huckabee is the only one carrying the torch now. Ask
them if they will help. They can put up or shut up.
That includes Ingraham, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, and
the rest who havent endorsed Huck yet. They need to
PUT UP OR SHUT UP. Please sign all Huckabee blog posts and
emails with: “ITS NOT OVER IF ITS BROKERED!”

I am so tired of hearing these reporters crying and begging Mr. Huckabee to quit.

Noone told them to quit, in fact they were probably encouraged. Unless they used the same tactics to intimidate others that they are trying to use now. If McCain is going to win then let him, how afraid are you that the convention won’t nominate him ? quit crying.
Leave Huckabee alone, he has every right to compete.

Mitt Romney is a realist and a patriot. Because of the split conservative vote and media machinations McCain became the GOP nominee on Super Tuesday.

The Clintons and Obama Kennedys are going to contine to battle each other for a long time yet. If Huckabee and Paul would show some of the right stuff they’d withdraw from their fight against fellow Republicans. That would give the GOP precious time to prepare the groundwork for success in November.

In my opinion Romney is far better qualified to be president at this time, but the reality is that McCain is the nominee. He’s the man we need to support and work with.

A McCain/Romney ticket would appease conservatives and talk show hosts. A McCain/Romney ticket would reduce campaign attacks Democrats could make on McCain’s lack of experience in economic matters.

A McCain/Romney ticket would appeal to Americans of both parties who fear the international terrorists who want to destroy our nation. A McCain/Romney ticket would appeal to those who fear the weakening of our military that would inevitably come with a Democrat president.

Compare McCain’s 25 years of experience in foreign affairs and military matters with Barack Obama’s experience in nothing except drawing crowds with the promise of giving them enormous handouts with tax payer money.

There’s a whole lot of strength in a McCain/Romney ticket. We could WIN in November!

Let’s roll!

Scholars will speak highly of the Romney campaign. It’s unfortunate that Huck employed religious bigotry to derail a formidable candidate. I feel that when the dust settles on the evangelistic ANTics that Huck stirred up, the religious right will feel a bit manipulated by Huckabee. They should have weighed out more of what their heart first told them. Romney was the straw poll winner and was out in front in Iowa before Huck stirred up trouble. After each primary, Mitt’s respect returned in nearly every primary state but it was just too late. If I am right, and McCain is truly smart enough to lead this country, he will humble himself to see the merits of Mitt Romney and capitalize on his wisdom by adding him to the ticket. Everybody wins, McCain gets his long-awaited presidency, Romney gets to assist in making this nation better immediately and starts ramping up to his own presidency and the religious right get to repent for putting their trust in the flesh of Huck’s selfish arm.

I hope you all are ready to have a Democrat in the White House. I see this year being just as the 1996 campaign when Republicans elected Bob Dole and we all know what a train wreck that was. I’m only hoping McCain will not fall off any grand stands as Dole did back then. I feel that we conservatives owe George W. Bush a hand of gratitude for destroying what we all worked so hard for the past 12 years or so. Way to go George.

Comment by Don Wallace

Huckabee is making it clear what the GOP’s conservative base believes. McCain ignores it at his and America’s peril. Ford ignored it in 76 and we got Carter. History may repeat itself. If so, at least we can look forward to a Huckabee v Obama race in 4 years.

He didn’t employ religious bigotry, that was Fox and others stirring it up after he ran a nice ad in Iowa that was working. Sean and Rush were schilling for Rudy and Romney, allowing McCain to get by Huckabee in SC and Mo. Otherwise the race would still be wide open, get it!

WHEN WE VOTE WE CAN OMIT THE PRESIDENT AL CANDIDATE, AND WILL IF MCCAIN IS ON THE BALLOT. NEVER ,NEVER, VOTE FOR THIS IDIOT. AND THIS IS WHY (MCCAIN ON LARRY KING)

MCCAIN: But, look, they want the borders secured first. And I understand that. And our proposal has got to be securing the borders first. The American people have no trust or confidence in us that we would secure the borders. So, I still think that we need tamper-proof biometric documents for temporary workers and anybody who hires them without them will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

No one should be awarded for illegal behavior. And we’ve got to round up and get rid of the two million people who are in this country who have already committed crimes.

But we are also a humane nation endowed with the qualities of humanity and compassion. And I’m not going to send the wife who is here illegally, of a soldier who is missing in action in Iraq, out of the country. Nor does anybody else want to do that.

But the American people want the borders secured first. And that’s the message. And that’s what I’m going to do.

KING: Why do you think so many conservatives are so against this feeling of being kind?

MCCAIN: Oh, I think they are. I think they’re humane and compassionate people. And when you sit down and discuss it with them, they understand that these are also God’s children. But they also have, as all Americans do, a deep and abiding concern about this nation’s security since 9/11 and they want the border secured first.

As president, I would have the border state governors certify that the borders are secure.

McCain may not be the best GOP choice, but it looks like he is all we Republicans have. Do you really want the country to be lead by a Obama or another Clinton? The Dems are turning out full force to vote and the Republicans seem to be disenchanted and staying home, not voting at all.
If this attitude continues the Democrats will walk away with the election, whether Hillary or Obama. Let’s face reality, McCain is going to be the GOP nominee. The GOP nor the Dems were able to put up any strong candidates this election so we are stuck what is left. If you put everything in prospective look at what we got;

1. Obama, the most liberal U.S. Senator with no experience to lead the mess we got around the
world. He is a slick talker with no record. He looks to pull us out of Iraq without finishing
the fight. This guy has never mentioned Bin Laden in any of his speeches. Is he aware that
this man is still out there determined to kill Americans.

2. Hillary, along with Bill, the scandals will continue. Another one that will pull our troops out
of Iraq without a win. Defeat and failure in Iraq will fuel the Terrorists only to stage more
attacks on our homeland. Defeat in Iraq is a win for the Terrorists.

Both of these candidates are focusing more on the economy and healthcare because they
became the no 1 issues to most voters. How can we afford to put the fight against Terrorism
on the back burner. Another attack on U.S. soil will cripple our economy, but more
importantly we will relive the nightmare of 9/11.

Most Democrats are screaming fix the economy, but on the other hand Democratic politicians
are notorious, increasing taxes!. Daaaaa!!! The liberal youth love Obama because they are
anti war and don’t have the guts to fight for our country. If there was a draft today they would
be burning their draft cards. Thank God for our military. Who else will protect our country.

3 This leaves McCain. He may not be the best choice, but this man served our country with
honor, suffering and being tortured for over 5 years in a POW camp. How many people can
endure that torment! He is a brave man and has served our country above and beyond. He
has the capability to lead our military, he’s been there, done that!! If he hooks up a V.P.
that helps smooth out our economy our country will be strongly led against the war on terror
and our economy will recover significantly.

McCain and the GOP is our only hope to survive this world full of Anti-American sentiment. We
have another Cold War brewing with Russia which makes it even more important to have
someone with experience in forgein affairs to keep our country safe from attack.

The bottom line, if Republicans give up hope for our party and don’t get to the polls in
in November we will be giving the store away. The Terrorist will be dancing in the streets!!

Comment by Pee Vee

America had it’s chance for a legitimate black President, not a slick talking liberal with no experience, no record to stand on. Colin Powell would of been a great President and would of honored his race. Unfortunately he did not run. But how about McCain’s V.P. Then make Stormin Norman the Secretary of Defense and watch the Terrorists run…………

Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign said Friday that a flag bearing the image of Ernesto ”Che” Guevara, which was hanging on the wall of a Houston office used by volunteers, was ”offensive” for many Cuban-Americans.

”We were disappointed to see this picture because it is both offensive to many Cuban Americans and Americans of all backgrounds, and because it does not reflect Senator Obama’s views,” the Democratic presidential hopeful’s campaign said in a press release to El Nuevo Herald.

The office where the image was located belongs to volunteer workers and is not supervised in any way by the Obama campaign, according to the press release.

”Barack Obama has been very clear in putting forth a Cuba policy based on one principle: freedom for the Cuban people,” it said.

SCANDAL BEGINS

A Fox Network affiliate in Houston broke the story that started the controversy regarding the image of the deceased Argentine revolutionary, whom the majority of Cuban exiles in the United States holds responsible for the executions of hundreds.

Although the original story covered by the Fox affiliate focused on the enthusiasm surrounding Super Tuesday, by Wednesday the image of the flag in the office that was occupied by three volunteer campaign workers (one of them was seated in front of the flag) became the target of numerous conservative blogs and the main topic of discussion on Miami’s Cuban radio stations.

”That’s the executioner Cuban communist Che Guevara hanging on the wall at the headquarters of the Obama campaign in Texas,” wrote blogger Dan McLaughlin under one of the images reproduced online.

During a follow-up report, one of the women at the office, identified only as María Isabel, eluded questions about the flag and its image by saying she didn’t have time.

”I’m sorry, I’m on the news, but I don’t watch the news,” said María Isabel at one point during the interview, adding, “This is a distraction. I don’t have time to talk about the Cuban flag.”

María Isabel, who identified herself as a Cuban American, praised Obama during the interview and stated that she knew the United States wanted a change and that she trusts the candidate.

As the reporter became insistent, María Isabel unclipped the microphone from her sweater and concluded the interview.

María Isabel has been identified as being Captain 002 of Obama’s Houston campaign, and she is also president of the Houston Obama Leadership Team.

Hushing America! The push to silence the American

I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. This presidential election is very exciting, also very distrubing. On the Republican side they have been trying to force out one of the two canidates way before the voter has voiced their oppinion. On the Democratic side it appears that after all the votes are tallied the decision about who will be the Demorcratic nominee will be up to something called superdelegates, and these super delegates can vote any way that choose regardless of the popular vote or delegate count!
Is this how elections are suppose to be ran? Isnt the American voter suppose to be the ones who decide these elections? Im going to talk about the Republican side for a moment. Here is the last two canidates basically. The Republican Rules state that neither canidate secures the nomination until 1191 degates are recieved for that delgate. Not one canidate has done this but yet the Republican Elite and the media have been saying that its over. That McCain despite losing Most of the Red states is the republican canidate. For weeks now we have heard the reteric that Mike Huckabee cannot win, and that McCain is going to be the nominee. Even when the race wasnt really that far apart the media along with the republican elite have been saying this.
So who is it exactly that chooses the nominee? Is it the people or the Party Elite. If you have been paying any attention to the primarys and caucuses its seems as though a power struggle is going on. A power struggle between what the voters want and what the Washington Republican Elite want. I am glad to see people standing up and voting how they want to vote. Not rolling over for the Party. I say dont roll over because your party says its over. You tell the party when its over! The party belongs to the people., not the Partys few Elite.
It seems that for so long now there has been minipulation of the voter through the media, big name endorsements, with loose facts and numbers being reported.. ie….. the old “its mathmatically impossible for a canadite to win.”
Its funny the rule states that a nominee will be secured when one canidate reaches 1191 delegates….. the rule doesnt state that once canidate has a good lead he is the nominee.
I am happy to see that voters are making decisions for them selves. I read a blog from a gentlemen from wisconsin that read ” why should the first 20 states get to vote and not my state?, dont i get a say?” I couldnt agree more. I hope the system changes soon. This system now is too vaulnerable to minipulation, and to out right fraud.
As far as the Republican Canidates go, If it is true that John McCain has it all locked up, then why are they so ferverant about Mike Huckabee quiting. Let the voting go on, let all the states have a chance to voice theyre oppinions. Could it be that the Republican Elite do not want to hear the opinion of some states exspecially if it contradicts there own plans and ideas. I hope voters see through this show. Is it really necessary for all the McCain endorsements if he already has it locked up? I mean why the big show? Why the memo from John McCains office stating Huckabee cant secure the delegates he needs for a win according to math? I know whats going on. Its a little scary if you ask me. Lets not forget about Washington State, after all its been two weeks and they still havnt finished counting 1500 votes? I could of counted 1500 votes in a half hour? Whats really going on.
My message to the voter is, go vote, ignore the media, ignore the polls, ignore the endorsements, go vote your issues and your values. Its not over untill youve had your chance to vote. This is America. We choose our canidates, and we choose when its over. REMIND WASHINGTON WHO THEY WORK FOR. THEY DONT DECIDE THE OUTCOME OF ELECTIONS THROUGH CLOSED DOOR MEETINGS. WE DECIDE THE ELECTION THROUGH THE HEART AND THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.
That said, I am an independant, So I can speak a little more freely on these Matters. I have nothing but respect for MIke Huckabee. Hes standing up against the establishment and insisting that they obide by their own rules, and letting each voter have his chance to have his vote count. I will be voting for Huckabee when Im given the chance. The freedom to vote is something that is being underminded in this election. Keep em honest. Go Vote How you Want To, Not how your told!!!

You article is misleading. You clearly list in your delegate Chart the amout of UNPLEGED vs. PLEDGED delegates the Democrates have. Why don’t you do the same for the Republican candidates? You are misleading the reader to believe that John McCain has a larger lead than he actually does. I have read other analysts that say McCain would have to win 71% of the remaining PLEDGED delegates to win at the convention. Just when has John McCain won 71% of any election? I assume you are getting your figures from the GOP. Please do some research. The GOP is PUSHING McCain down the throats of the American Voter. I for one would like the Press to prevent this type of Voter intimidation. Huckabee is likeable and has a strong message that appeals to the Conservative Voice of the Republican Party. When the GOP elites decide they’d like to choose McCain as the Party Nominee, They Break The RULES. We have a Convention, that’s where the nominee is chosen. I would appreciate it greatly, if Fox would hold a debate between Huckabee and McCain — as CNN has chosen to forgo this comparison. The Remaining states deserve to hear the differences between the candidates. McCain is not the pesumptive winner. He is far too liberal to attract the conservative voter. Without this he will not win the White House. In addition, McCain can’t get the number of PLEDGED delegates he needs before the convention. Please do not deprive us of a Fair Election Process!

The media, specially CNN, Fox News for other sinister reasons, and NBC, also caught in the hype, cannot wait to CROWN B.O. as the official candidate for the Dems. The last I heard, there are still many primaries to be held before the magic number of 2025 is reached.
They’re constant and vitrionic badgering, yes, badgering of Senator Clinton is reprehensible! “Objective” reporting has always been a tongue-in-cheek proposition for all of them.
The choice that the people are faced with is difficult enough, because it is so important that we choose, and we choose WELL. We don’t need to be HERDED into a decision, just because the MEDIA has anointed B.O.

Mitt won’t accept an invitation to VP from McCain (and McCain knows it!!!)…it’s a sinking ship and Romney is too intelligent for that. He’ll wait until 2012..when he will (like Reagan) make a clean sweep. We need a Carter before we get another Reagan..only this time it will be Hillary or Obama.
We’re in for a rough 4 years..but it will be worth it.

My friends, today I announce that I am dropping out of the Republican Party and the Presidential race for President of the United States of America.

I make this announcement today, after a life changing experience last night. I now realize that my candidacy as the conservative Republican nominee has been based on a series of falsehoods, misleading untruths, and at times flat out lies that I and others inside the GOP have told the American people. The liberal media in this country have reinforced these stories and I now cannot in good conscience allow this false candidacy to go on any longer.

My friends, I had a horrible dream last night,…

God came to me and asked me; “John, how can you continue on in this race?”

I was shocked and amazed, that the Lord our God was confronting me about my political career instead of my spiritual shortcomings… I thought for a moment while raising and lowering my arms in disbelief…and then I responded;

“God, what do you mean? I have served you and my country my entire life…I prayed to you every night when I was in Vietnam…I came home and served my country my entire life in Washington, D.C… I ran for President back in 2000 and didn’t get the nomination…And now, I’m leading in the race for the Republican nomination and have the entire GOP backing my candidacy, and you ask me how I can continue? I don’t understand?

All God did, without saying a word…was to slightly drop his chin while raising his eyebrows and looked directly into my soul!

My friends, enormous guilt began to flow through my entire being…all of my past decisions while serving in Washington D.C. that conflicted with the true conservative foundation of the Republican party began to flash through my brain…each wrong decision or vote seared through my veins like lightning bolts…each change of my positions which came only after being confronted by the real conservative patriots of our country rang out in my entire soul… with each flashback came the loud Liberty bell ringing in my ears and electrical shocks piercing through my body.

My friends, I have come to realize that I cannot continue on any longer in this race. I now feel that my own ego has led me to believe that it is my “turn” to be the nominee of the Republican party for President. I have accepted the Washington insiders and power brokers push to make me the nominee, much like we did with my dear friend Bob Dole back in 1996…it was his “turn” back then and many believe it is my “turn” now. I now realize for the good of the Republican party and our country… that the good old boys behind the scenes thinking they know what’s best for us, have gotten it wrong this year.

Many of the true, real conservative patriots of this country have been fiercely voicing their opposition to my candidacy…some of them have actually said that if I am the nominee of the Republican party, they will for the first time in their lives, vote for the Democrat. Regardless of their strong opposition and outspoken criticisms, the Washington insiders and I have argued against them…twisting the truth about my past decisions or saying that I have learned from those mistakes and now see the conservative beacon of light and will follow that light in the future as President.

My friends, I know my true convictions. I know that once I am sworn in as President, sitting securely behind the desk in the Oval office, that I will follow those true convictions and make future decisions based on who I am and who I have shown to be in the past.

Also, looking honestly at the American people’s desire for a President who is not a “Washington insider”,… someone who can bring real change to the ways our government does things…maybe someone fresh and idealistic enough to not know or accept that new ideas can work if we are all united by doing what’s good for America first and political parties last,…is the person that America really wants and needs at this crucial time in our history to be President.

I now see the light…and I see the only remaining candidates that meet those standards are Barack Obama or Mike Huckabee.

Maybe Iowa had it right…but because the liberal independents in New Hampshire along with the liberal media and Washington insiders convinced the American people that it was my “turn”… I won more and more states and took the lead for the nomination. I don’t know why all of this has happened, I don’t know why I had this dream, but I now do know that I clearly see the conservative truth and hereby drop out of the race for President of the United States of America.

Thank you my friends for your past support and your acceptance of my latest decision.

And then I woke up…this morning!

I pray dear Lord, let this speech become the “Miracle” all of us Mike Huckabee supporters have been waiting for!!!

But I fear that John McCain and the GOP/GOB (Good Old Boys) are way too narcissistic (look up the real definition) to ever allow him to make this speech!!!

Rock on Huck!! Huckabee is the only true conservative out there. Sean Hannity has really upset me along with all the conservative pundits who deny Mik Huckabee’s presence as a viable nominee. I just got back from the Michigan Republican Convention and you would not believe the support that Janet Huckabee got when she was introduced to the Republicans in attendance. McCain sent a video that was aired. I saw very few signs and only one time do i remember an applaud throughout the video (supporting the war). While Janet Huckabee spoke, people from all over the hall broke into applause several times. As well, she got about an 70-80 percent standing ovation upon introduction and at the end of her speech. What do you not understand Republican National Committee and pundits? Obama is the democrat charismic person and HUCKABEE IS THE CHARISMIC NOMINEE FOR THE REPUBLICANS!! We don’t want McCain. He was a POW and for that i give him credit, but that doesn’t make him the best for President of the United States of America!!

People, don’t stop voting for Huck because “he can’t win” because he CAN WIN!! A brokered election could put him in.

I will still write Romney in here in Texas. I can never vote for McCain or Huckabee. I will vote this coming Texas Primary just to make sure we elect the right people for Congress and for the Senate. No to Hillary Clinton. No to Barack Hussein Obama!

well said warnnick: well huckabee the numbers are way against you. Romney majored in numbers and took the best route. You majored in miracles. Perhaps It is not Gods will for you will not to win the nomination. Perhaps in 2012. If you do not drop out now, you will leave a sour taste for conservatives and messed up your chances.

Numbers do not lie!
“facts are stubborn things”.
