Polls Show Obama Bigger Threat To McCain in General

The latest RCP polls show Obama gaining ground on McCain in a head to head match-up with McCain. His lead is still within the margin of error in most polls and much can change in the next 9 months but McCain acknowledged Obama’s front-runner status in his victory speech in VA when he made reference to hope, “Hope, my friends, is a powerful thing…” and continued by saying “to encourage a country with only rhetoric rather than sound and proven ideas that trust in the strength and courage of free people is not a promise of hope, it is a platitude.”

He finished his speech with Obama’s signature line, “Fired up and ready to go.”

This is why we never should have picked McCain. McCain against a black will put a Democrat in the White House. And then we’ll be in trouble.

Comment by Bill

Of course he is. he has much broader appeal and lacks the scandalous history of the clintons.

Hillary is done. She will lose. She spent too much time talking about Obama’s inexperience instead of strategizing about how to win this election. Democrats now see that Hillary doesn’t represent change at all. She represents the old status quo.

And by the way, JFK didn’t have much experience either…

McCain? What a joke. Did you see all of those OLD FOLKS he had lined up behind him during his speech after the Potomac primaries? Gawd… Obama will win in the general election easily against these old, old, OLD conservatives. McCain is ANTI-HOPE – he sees the future as “unclear…” Uh, huh.. that strategy works well against the Obama campaign for HOPE…

O-B-A-M-A!! O-B-A-M-A!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!

Mike Huckabee Endorsed by Texas State Senator Dan Patrick

http://www.foxbusiness.com/article/mike-huckabee-endorsed-texas-state-senator-dan-patrick_477103_1.html

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Feb 12, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ — Former Arkansas Governor and Republican Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee has been endorsed by Texas State Senator Dan Patrick, who is also a popular radio talk show host in Houston and a well-known conservative Republican.

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of Dan Patrick. His record in the Texas Senate and lowering property taxes is known far beyond the borders of the Lone Star State,” Huckabee said. “As a popular talk-radio host, Dan has used the airwaves to advance his Christian values while advocating for a more principled government, lower property taxes, and improved border security.”

Patrick, who worked for CBS affiliate KHOU-TV, before starting a career in talk radio at KSEV-AM in Houston, has been very active for conservative causes.

“I have gotten to know Governor Huckabee over the past several months. I have been impressed with his honesty, work ethic and determination to fight for conservative principles,” Patrick said. As a committed Christian, I appreciate and respect his unabashed commitment to put God first in everything he does. His stance on pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-family issues are important to Texas. His understanding that the border must be secured immediately, and that the issue of illegal immigration must be resolved now, is one that resonates with all of us who believe this is the most important issue we face today. I’m proud to endorse Governor Mike Huckabee.”

Patrick wrote a Christian bestseller, The Second Most Important Book You Will Ever Read, in 2002. The next year Patrick formed a 20,000-member organization called CLOUT (Citizen’s Lowering Our Unfair Taxes) that worked to lower property taxes.

In 2006, Patrick was elected to the Texas State Senate with an overwhelming 69 percent majority. During the 80th Legislative Session, he succeeded in permanently placing the creed, “In God We Trust” over the Senate chamber, pushing open government legislation, forcing votes on lowered appraisal caps and pushing bills that empower local law enforcement to stem the tide of illegal immigration.

As a result of his success, Patrick received Texas District and County Attorneys Association’s Freshman of the Year Award and was recognized by Texas Eagle Forum, the Texas Association of Business as well as the American’s for Prosperity for his conservative leadership.

Sooner or later Obama is going to have to reveal his true self, no matter who he matches up against. There is so much about ye we don’t know, Obama.

Most of us know we are not voting for the most popular car, we are voting for a president.

Are these the same polls that had John Kerry leading George Bush by 17 points a couple of days before the election?

This brings to mind a quote:

When push comes to shove the country will lean toward Senator McCain. Although Senator Obama is one of the best orators I have ever seen, his political tilt (Far Left) will harm his electability with Independents. Both Republicans and Democrats have 30% of the electorate which means that 40% are Independents. This huge voting block will tilt toward Senator McCain due to the fact that he attracts “the middle”. Now, I’m not saying that all the Conservatives will vote for Senator McCain, but when faced with the choice between Senator Obama and Senator McCain they will take the lesser of two evils.

Are we becoming 3rd class country?, where candidate only strength is sweet talk (to fool voters) with no experience and get elected and bring shame to country.
We have to stop becoming 3rd country type democracy. People who talked sweet never , I say never, delivered results. Ask any Sub Prime Mortgage suffer, he / she suffered due to Just sweet talker and no experience.

Save America from being fooled.

As long as the Black racist vote continues to predominantly vote for Obama, one would expect to see these results for Hillary Clinton. I think Hillary had anticipated receiving a reasonable share of the Black vote, considering how she and Bill Clinton supported this faction of our population over the years. I don’t think they understood that they received the Black vote at that time because that group saw the Clintons as their primary hope in getting something out of the political and government social system. I don’t believe Hillary ever understood that race is a more important factor to Blacks than any othe true measures of merit or ability, as supported by every voting statistic to date. Sorry, but they probably don’t need you anymore Hillary.

I AGREE. BUT THE DEMOCRATES ARE SO STUPID, THEY WILL MAKE SURE HILLARY WINS

Bill and Hillary will become desparate (that has shown itself already) if Obama gains even more momentum…I hope he does, he is a breath of fresh air, Hillary is more of the same. She is vindictive and as Morris said, Bill and Hillary live one step ahead of a grand jury and the sheriff. Anyone that votes for her I consider to be manipulated. All SHE has done is given speeches and that is her argument against her opponent Obama! At least his are uplifting and positive, HE is a class act. If Dems have a chance, it is with Obama, not Billary.

HILLARY HAS NO EXPERIENCE, EXCEPT FOR BILL’S JOB AS PRESIDENT, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! IT MAKES ME SICK TO HEAR HER SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HER “35″ YEARS “VETTED” ETC….DOING WHAT? THAT IS THE EQUIVALENT OF MY HUSBAND WHO IS A FOOTBALL COACH FOR 25 YEARS RETIRING AND I DECIDE TO APPLY FOR THE HEAD COACH….CAUSE I HAVE BEEN “VETTED” AND HAVE 25 YEARS AS HIS WIFE LISTENING ABOUT FOOTBALL….SURE, I HAVE LEARNED THE SPORT BUT IT IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT MATTER TO GET OUT THERE AND CONTROL THE TEAM, THE CONTEST, THE WINS AND THE LOSSES, THE FANS, THE PARENTS, ETC ETC. BILL AND HILL ARE DESPARATE TO CREATE HISTORY TOGETHER…WHAT IF SHE CAN’T FIND HIM ONE DAY FOR ADVICE…..AND WHERE WILL THE INTERNS BE WHEN HILL IS BUSY AND BILL IS BORED?

HILL AND BILL HAVE ALREADY BROUGHT DISGRACE TO THE WHITE HOUSE ONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McCain will win. I beleive Obama’s campaign is unraveling, or begining to. He’s too liberal! I can not see people voting him in during a general election. We have been pulled by the different ends of the spectrum for far too long now we need a moderate. Obama just seems too foreign to me. I think it’s amazing and wondeful that an African-American is running for president and has made it this far in the process, but it’s kind of hard to consider him an African-American. I don’t mean because of his name….it’s just this weird un-American vibe I get from him. Plus the faintings are getting very creepy. I know ALOT of evangelicals who are starting to consider him the “AntiChrist”. I’m not at that point, but he’s getting spooky.

The Democrates win with Obama and they lose with Clinton

Bill,

Haven’t you been reading…? McCain has every bit the scandalous history of the Clintons, including the womanizing and the adultery. Granted, McCain didn’t dodge the draft, but his actions after the war — his fevered work to prevent the families of POWs from finding crucial information about them — was abominable.

When the campaign heats up in earnest McCain is not going to seem like much of a war hero…

But Republicans didn’t want a sqeaky clean guy, so we have reaped what we have sown. Prepare to be squashed!
