Another Win and McCain Goes After Obama
by Carl Cameron
Columbus, Ohio:
At his victory rally after handily winning Wisconsin, there was no confetti and little raucous music but McCain flanked the stage with young people following post Potomac Primary criticism of the image of him surrounded by old members of the party establishment.
In his victory speech he attacked Obama HARD.

Extremely bad night for McCain when you consider Democrat and Republican turnout:
With 99% reporting you have 224,122 votes for McCain compared to 645,554 votes for Obama.
Wow!
When listening to Obama Hussein Barak, I hear Louis Farakhan, Fidel Castro and Adolph Hitler. Someone once said “a bumbling idiot could sound like a genius if he wasn’t concerned with what he says” (not exact quote but same meaning). I could never vote for anyone that would refuse to place an American flag symbol on their coat, or whose spouse publicly states she has never had any pride in our country until she is rewarded with the possibility of becoming First Lady.
I think the Republican Party is in for a shock come November. McCain’s nomination has no enthusiasm among its base. To me the man is a hot headed fool that doesn’t need to be placed in a position of great authority. Carl, have you noticed that Democratic voters are coming out in great numbers? The Republican side is about a third the Democratic side. You said in your blog that there was little hoopla in Columbus when he won Wisconsin. This represents the Republican Party right now. There is no enthusiasm for this man. He will lose by a landslide in November. I predict he will not take one state – not even Arizona! The best choice would have been for Mitt Romney…but alas, that won’t happen. McCain doesn’t have any new ideas. He admittedly knows nothing about economics. How can someone rally around such an old relic that needs to be retired? I have voted Republican for years, but I cannot vote for McCain unless he softens his liberal tendencies. It’s almost funny how Huck just keeps on hanging in there. Doesn’t he know by now it is over?
Why is the U.S. media INGORING this important story in the Australian Press???

Al-Qaeda ‘praying for Obama win’
By Sandra O’Malley
February 11, 2007 06:37pm
PRIME Minister John Howard has launched a broadside against US presidential hopeful Barack Obama, warning his victory could destroy Iraq and prospects for peace in the Middle East.
Mr Howard’s stinging attack against the popular Democrat, who formally launched his bid for the Democratic candidacy overnight, also appears to commit Australian troops to staying in Iraq well into 2008.
Only days after saying Australia’s alliance with the US was about more than his personal friendship with US President George W Bush, Mr Howard warned that an Obama victory would be a boost for the terrorists.
The man who wants to be the first black US president has pledged to withdraw US troops from Iraq by March 2008, a timetable Mr Howard believes is dangerous.
“I think that would just encourage those who wanted completely to destabilise and destroy Iraq, and create chaos and victory for the terrorists to hang on and hope for (an) Obama victory,” Mr Howard told the Nine Network.
“If I was running al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008, and pray, as many times as possible, for a victory not only for Obama, but also for the Democrats.”
Labor described Mr Howard’s attack against Senator Obama as unprecedented.
Opposition foreign affairs spokesman Robert McClelland said Mr Howard was virtually telling people not to vote Democrat.
“It’s the first time that I can recall that an Australian prime minister has engaged in US politics in such a partisan way… actually telling US citizens what side of politics they should vote for,” he said.
“It’s most inappropriate, it demeans the Australia-US alliance to suggest its a relationship between political parties rather than an enduring relationship between two people.”
Mr Howard’s comments also suggest he anticipates Australian troops will remain in Iraq well into 2008.
He has repeatedly vowed to stay the course with the coalition forces in Iraq and predicted there was no way the US could withdraw in a little over a year.
“There’s no way by March 2008, which is a little over a year from now, everything will have been stabilised so that the US can get out in March 2008,” Mr Howard said.
“And, if the US is defeated in Iraq, the hope of ever getting a Palestinian settlement will be gone.”
Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd indicated that if Labor won government, the troop rotation in place at that time was likely to be the last.
However, he would not give a definitive timetable for withdrawal.
“What we would do with the US is consult with them… about our removal of the Australian force on the ground,” Mr Rudd told the Ten Network.
He pledged that Australia, under his leadership, would maintain its security detachment of around 110 personnel guarding the Australian embassy in Baghdad.
It would also provide some form of security assistance to the Iraqis.
Mr Rudd indicated that other troops would only remain in Iraq for up to six months at most after a Labor victory.
“Rotations of troops are normally in six-month cycles, (so it) depends on where you are in that cycle,” he said.
“All I’m saying is we’ll be taking those troops out of there but we’ll do so in close consultation with our US ally.”
What is happeninging to the highest position in America? Do we want a president who’s wife is not Proud to be an American and a President who used cocaine. Come on America wake up this is not a game. Is it that we have no respect for ourselves. Believe me I will be voting Republican. I don’t think we need a Circus in the White House.
I suppose it does not matter what all the people in the late primary states think. Why even have a primary? It has been determined and not even the mighty Rush or Sean got their way.

Yeah,

Yeah,
Pete, it looks the the Republican Party took a step towards the LEFT and LEFT Hannity and Limbaugh behind. McCain is the man!!!
The repugs are so demoralized right now , I think Mcain should stop wasting money on booking those bib halls for the after victory speech and , 99% of which is vacant all the time, and should hold them at some McDonalds nearby with a promise of free MacMeal of your choice. This way he can probably get more crouda.
As for the Australian Prez., most probably he would be the only country with any troops in Iraq after 2008.
I AM A STRONG SUPPORTER OF THE 2nd AMENDMENT. WE WILL NOT HAVE THAT WITH HILLARY,OBAMA OR MCCAIN. YOU PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO BE THINKING OF THESE SERIOUS ISSUES SINCE WE HAVE NO BORDERS . MIKE AND RON ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO SPEAK OUT TO THIS;;

Maybe the Clinton camp should get a few of the victims of crime that his present vote in Illinois effected. He says he had a technical issue with the bill, well I bet the victims that could have used his vote on the bill had a surrvival issue that needed his vote. The guy has not wanted any issue to stick to him that would prevent his manipulation of the future. His own friends say they realy do not know the real Obama. I am afraid this play has been his lifes work. Clinton camp go for the real meat on his posturing he has been a pozer all of his life. Get to the real bones of who he is and you will expose some ugly side that he has patted as a protection from who he is and what he is about. Get to the meat and stop picking at crap that does not matter. We do not want to hear about 35 years, or hard work expose this pozer for what he is inside and why he has chosen to hide . You can get some of it as it shows on his spouce. This is a couple that are so out of touch from the African American communitty that now embrasses them, his spouce is condisending of average blacks. She accutualy looks down at uneducated blacks and it has shown from some of the way she talks to crowds, and his writtings were he says he hated his mothers family. If you can not go for the meat I know the Republicans will have no problem doing so. How you would let the media pin you into a hands off campaign is my disappointment. John Kerry let Karl Rove and the media do this to us 4 years ago and I had hoped you would be different. If you can’t I will go with Mccain as he is a centrist that I feel the democratic party had moved to during Bill’s term, away from the liberal ways of the past. You are not thinking straight and your advisers are not up to the task, go for the meat of this pozer !!!
I have to agree with the Australian Prime Minister.
I’d vote for Mickey Mouse before I’d vote for Obama.
Seriously if it came down between Obama and Hillary for President, I’d have to vote Hillary.
Seriously though, I hope McCain is our next President.
OH YEA, A ROOM FULL OF OLD PEOPLE.
I don’t really care if Obama goes back on his promise to take public funding. If it’s a lie, I don’t really care. McCain is the nominee only because he lied, so if the eventual nominees are both liars, why should I deplore one and not the other….?
And I don’t really mind if McCain gets trounced. There is zero evidence to indicate that he would actually do the things Republicans are “hoping” he will do if he gets their vote anyway.
On the other hand, Obama seems like a pretty decent human being. It is more reasonable to suppose that a decent human being will do decent things while in office than it is to suppose that an abominable out-of-control human being will suddenly choose to do decent things in office….
Chris,
I cannot beleive your moral outrage over Obama’s cocaine use or that his wife has never been proud to be an American!
The McCains are AT LEAST as deplorable. Actually, much more so….
McCain had multiple adulterous affairs and divorced the injured wife who waited for him all through Nam. He left her to marry one of his other women — a rich model with a history of stealing drugs.
I agree that we don’t “need” a circus in the White House, but we asked for it, and we are going to get it!
Minnesota Man Claims He Took Drugs & Had Sex with Barack Obama in 1999
Submitted by Julie on February 19, 2008 – 1:32pm. Elections Elections 2008 News Politics U.S. Politics
Barack Obama now faces a new challenge – one that is sure to be much more scandalous than anything he’s seen so far. If the allegations are to be believed, it’s also a scandal that his campaign has tried to cover up. A Minnesota man has come forth, claiming that he took cocaine in 1999 with Obama, the then-Illinois legislator, and participated in homosexual acts with him.
Larry Sinclair, the man making the claims, said his story was ignored by the news media. Still not willing to let this one slip quietly under the rug, Sinclair made a YouTube video in which he made his case. It’s had over half a million views already, but the story has still been largely ignored by the news media.
Sinclair’s next step was to file a suit in Minnesota District Court, in which he alleges threats and intimidation by the Democratic presidential candidate’s staff.
Still out to prove that he is telling the truth, Sinclair said he is willing to submit to a polygraph test. A website (WhiteHouse.com) has come forth offering him $10,000 for the right to record the polygraph test, and another $100,000 if he passes it.
MC Cain Should emphasize more on what he can do and not what Obama cant do. The Press will take care of Obamas doings and undoings ..’..If John Mc Cain Truly loves America he should implement what Hukabee asks for atleast 70% so that his grand children might not face attack from few unatural sex lovers whom Billary endorsed. As far as further wars is concerend its to the interests of europeans as well.why America alone has to be victimised..As far as future of world etc. is concerned If Mc cain is left behind he may see that it was not worth it because its all under the one world 666 control and maybe the middle east cises may be solved for 3 yrs untill fire rains you call global warming.some will call wrath of God but not untill floods and famines increase woild wide due to shedding of innocent bloods and sexualy beastality……yeah its all vanity as Solomon said.
Huckabee still has a chance if he can force GOP into a brokered convention. Why people attack him if he cannot win? I haven’t heard people asking Ron Paul to drop out! Conservatives need to wake up and stop the McCain train. Otherwise, in November we will have to liberal candidates to choose from. Also conservatives need to start working on winning back the Congress. The Congress collectively can shape the politics more than the president can.
McCain may think he’s got the election in the bag, but I’m still hoping Huckabee beats him. McCain wouldn’t debate Huckabee and I’m not going to vote for him, I’d rather stay home.
He should have thought about the voters who wanted too see this debate instead of going to relax at home over the weekend. I know if I wanted to win I’d be out their trying to get votes. But McCain is not wise.
Republicans’ message to McCain?
Posted: 05:26 PM ET
Mike Huckabee speaks to supporters at the Fort Worth Stockyards February 29, 2008 in Fort Worth, Texas.
FROM CNN’s Jack Cafferty:
There is a poll out that raises serious questions about whether Republicans really like Mike Huckabee or whether they really don’t like John McCain.
It’s a USA Today/Gallup poll that says 49% of Republicans surveyed think Mike Huckabee should stay in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. This can’t be very comforting for John McCain who is the presumed nominee, almost half of Republicans don’t want Huckabee to go. Only 46% say Huckabee should drop out. If McCain’s popularity was what it should be, that number would be much higher. An even larger margin of Conservative Republicans, 54% to 42%, want Huckabee to stay in this thing.
This has to be tough on John McCain’s ego, not to mention his possible chances to win the White House. Ahead of the Texas primary tomorrow, The Dallas Morning News has endorsed Mike Huckabee even though the newspaper admits he has no chance of winning. The Dallas paper says a vote for Huckabee would be “a good investment in the Republican Party’s future”, adding he’s been “on the right side of campaign finance reform and environmental issues.”
As for McCain, the editorial board says his age and “choleric temperament gave us pause particularly when contrasted to Mr. Huckabee’s sunny-side-up brand of conservatism.”
How the Republican Party Committed National Suicide
Mathematically Impossible
By Adam Graham on Mar 3, 08
Mathematically impossible has become a phrase those who’ve watched coverage of the Mike Huckabee presidential campaign have heard ad nauseum. I become very wary of overused phrases, because they sound very much like talking points rather than facts.
Mathematically impossible is one of those talking point phrases that is inaccurate. It is mathematically impossible for Huckabee to win the nomination outright through the number of delegates won at upcoming primaries and caucuses. It is not mathematically impossible for him to win the nomination. In order to secure the nomination a candidate needs 1191 delegates. In order to be assured of the nomination before the convention, a candidate must have 1191 pledged delegates. A pledged delegate is bound to support the candidate they are pledged to no matter what. Low poll numbers in the general election, substantive allegations of felonious acts, or acting like Tom Cruise on Oprah Winfrey will not deny a candidate the votes of his pledged delegates on the first ballot.
On the other hand, unpledged delegates can vote for whomever they want on the convention floor. Many news organizations, in a rush to seal the deal for their long-time media darling, have called unpledged delegates to see how they would vote and find many saying theyd support McCain.
Of course, the problem here is the convention is not being held today or a week from now. Rather the convention is an event that is six months in the future. Six months is an eternity in politics. Six months ago, Rudy Giuliani was the frontrunner. Political careers can be destroyed in weeks. Therefore to assume the thoughts of pledged delegates right now will be their thoughts six months from now assumes far too much in our fluid political world.
Only when a candidate has 1191 delegates pledged (and McCain only has 874). can we say he is the nominee. Until that occurs, it is mathematically possible for someone else to be the winner.
The term mathematically impossible is incredibly inaccurate. As every baseball fan knows, math gives hope to every improbable cause. Even the Tampa Bay Devil Rays were not mathematically eliminated from baseballs playoff race until Mid-September of last season.
Unfortunately, one has to admit the term has been largely successful in achieving its goals, as many conservatives have surrendered in the fight against John McCain, acceding to a nominee that we cannot stand and tolerate. Many have, instead, found their purpose as unethical saboteurs of the Democratic Party process crossing over to defeat Hillary or Obama, depending on their strategic view.
In the end, this election has been a lesson in how the media can manipulate elections and create news, with phrases repeated often and long enough. News anchors and stories chattering on about impossibilities and candidates having no chance as a matter of fact, not a matter of opinion or analysis, have created a perception that doesnt match fact. But the constant, incessant buzz is taking a toll and creating the reality it alleges.
Weve also learned that just become someone labels a news organization conservative doesnt mean it will provide reliable information on the presidential election. And alas, blogs, for which so many people have so much hope, are only as good as their biases and sources allow them to be.
For whatever reason, be it John McCains Washington Insider status v. Huckabee as the man from Arkansas, a fear of losing to Obama or Hillary should the primary campaign go on one minute longer, conservative media has been just as likely to play the game as the liberal press, only with more passion. The same people who were telling us a few weeks ago that Mike Huckabee was only staying in this race to help John McCain, are now complaining about Mike Huckabee hurting John McCain by continuing in this race.
Perhaps it was because outlets such as National Review are greatly responsible for the McCain ascendancy. Conservative media, including yours truly, spent a great part of December providing a contextless attack on the record of Mike Huckabee, while ignoring the rise of John McCain in New Hampshire, thus giving him an effective free pass.
Much to their annoyance, Huckabee not only survived these attacks, but won eight states contests. I assumed that Huckabee was obviously running to be John McCains VP, and found egg on my face as he continued on. I was also guilty of attacking the unconservative portions of his record and platform in my writing and ignoring the positive parts. I was man enough to own up to my errors and admit that Id goofed They werent.
These errors in perception created by conservative media hounds are huge. A man who favors restoring Americas military to the same percentage of GDP that it was at under Ronald Reagan is thought by many to be as weak on national defense as Jimmy Carter.
The lesson for the future is that media bias exists, regardless of ideological stripe, and that no media outlet can be trusted to do your thinking for you. Of course, its still possible for voters to revolt against media-imposed groupthink in this cycle when they go to the polls in Texas and Ohio. After all, its not mathematically impossible.
You know it’s amazing how people have lived the past 8 years in fear and want to put the same kind of person in the WhiteHouse that will continue the same legacy as our current President. We need to stop looking at race & gender and look at the character of a man. No one is perfect and to expect that from the president of the us is a mistake. You guys have been falling for republican jedi mind tricks. for too long WAKE UP!!! and vote for real change!!!!!!!
We are witnessing a political phenomenon of rare magnitude with the charismatic appearance of Barrack Obama. His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of “Change” or that he says he will be a “Uniter”. The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma and both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions. On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler inspired millions and the results were catastrophic. Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but for many Americans out there feeling just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, the real story is what happens when it hits shore. What must be remembered above all else is that his record is open to anyone who chooses to look. Most people don’t and politicians never brag about the stands they take that the average voter would not like. Next to be considered in line with Obama’s record is his ardent and I do mean ardent support of the radical muslim factions both in America and in Islam controlled countries. While he raises his flag of Christianity for us to see, has he displayed any of it in his life? No. Remember also that the man refused to take the oath of office on a bible but insisted upon the Koran. Remember also that he deleted the parts from the oath about swearing allegiance to the United States. Remember also that he publicly refused to pay homage to the pledge of Allegiance, which even a liberal such as Hillary Clinton did by coming to attention and placing her hand over her heart. Obama stood spread legged with his hands clasped in front of him.
Now look at his voting record and decide whether you want an American, even Hillary, for president, or do you want a sworn muslim who during his brief tenure has done all he could to destroy and weaken all the tenets upon which this nation was built. I can only pray that Hillary gets the nomination. Maybe John McCain will win the general election and that will be all right, but if Hillary does win, I won’t have to worry about getting up the next morning to find that Montana has been set aside as a sanctuary for Islamic principles.

I listen to MCCain on Hannity and he was talking about a national health care plan costing just soo much money . I believe staying in Iraq fighting the war will be more costly than any health plan we could have. Costly in more ways than one ,like cost of more lives, more money to keep our troops there, more health care because of the effects of the war on our soldiers, and then of course billions of dollars to fund the war. So where do we spend our money and who do we take care of first??
I like Colon Powell, but I don’t like war enough to vote for McCain . I think Colon Powell has more sense than to jump back in the mess Bush has stirred up .I would think Ms Rice would be chomping at the bit to get out of it all. But what do I know I am one of those uneducated democrat with only common sense.
I happen to like Obama. However, with all the rhetoric about religion mouthed from his so called minister of God…I am not going to vote in the elections, or consider voting for Obama. I feel his minister has ruined this man and his reputation. Now, I do not know what to think he really stands for. McCain, on the other hand, clearly lives his beliefs in his actions. No one can say anything negative or raise a question about his core beliefs. This has been done by Obama’s minister and it has raised our doubts about the man who listened to these beliefs for many years.
Right now, I feel we know Senator McCain. Knowing his character, beliefs and how he lived out his life. He, Senator McCain, will have my vote. My advise to Obama is to demiss his connection from this minister and go to a church that does not involve itself in politics. I never heard in all my years of attendance in one church any discussion of politics. We might have been encouraged to seek the truth, pray for our country, but that was the extent of religious discussion.
Seeking candidacy as a leader of a country, we rely on the achievements of an individual candidate, not on the beliefs of a minister or priest, unless they are drawn to the attention of listeners because they are irrational. Certainly, Obama’s minister, seems to be confused about his role as a man of God.
Is there anything wrong with mc cains hands he does not seem to know what to do with them, he holds them and moves them very weird.
McCain as old as his republican party and it worries me. Since Obama shown his real color and inexperience, Hilary is only one left standing and she gets my vote.
JUST REMENBER THE BLACKS STICK TOGETHER.
MCCAIN WILL NOT BEAR OBOMA EVEN WITH THE WRIGHT CONFLICK.
