McCain to speak to Council for National Policy Friday
FOX NEWS HAS LEARNED that in New Orleans on Friday John McCain makes a major speech to the influential and little known Council for National Policy. The CNP is an umbrella organization of influential social and religious conservative groups.
The CNP members are not made public, meetings are not open to non-members, and they seldom even make public where and when their meetings occur.
McCain’s speech and subsequent Q&A will be videoed and publicized.
The group is filled with organizations and individuals who have been among McCain’s toughest conservative critics.

What’s he going to talk about? Opening our borders and giving amnesty to illegals? Flush the John-2008!
McCain can speak to any council he wants, but his hopes for the presidency hold no water without making an offer to Mitt Romney for VP. Mitt got more delegates than any other candidate and, without McCain’s nasty lies about “benchmarks” he would be the candidate now. Mitt rallied the conservative vote and besides, not to be crass, but McCain’s campaign is just about bust and the RNC has no money either. Romney is a man who knows how to find money and folks with $$$’s will rally around a ticket if Romney is on it–always with an eye to the fact that McCain is an old broken down war horse who may not even last through his first term.
Then, to paraphrase Michelle Obama “For the first time in my life I would have a president (Romney) I could be proud of.”
Mitt Romney or fall on your face McCain. As much as you hate him for being everything you aren’t starting with handsome, nice, clean cut, beautiful wife who never touched drugs, really good kids who love him etc. etc. you will do well to extend him the invitation for VP in your own self interest. WE know you conspired with Huckabee and Crist to unseat Mitt by promising them the VP, but really, who is the household name right now???? Not Crist and Huckabee is a BIG JOKE!
THis is good. My comment is on those extreme conservative talk sow hosts who claim to dislike McCain so much they will vote for Hillary (shich I doubt they will do). It’s like two rival neighborhood groups playing sandlot ball and one group has three kids they say one of them has to pitch, but isn’t as good as the one they have have. They claim that if he doesn’t get top pitch they will go home or even go play on the opposing team, which they hate. The old, ” I’ll take my bat and ball and go home if I don’t get my way.”
It’s good to see McCain reaching out to core conservatives. The conservative talkies that claim to dislike McCain so much they will vote for Hillaryremind me of a group of kids from one neighborhood playing sandlot ball. A group of three come and claim if their guy doesn’t get to pitch they will go home or play for the other team, which they really hate. The rest of the team want the original pitcher. the old saying of, “If I don’t get my way, I’ll take my bat and ball and go home.”
One would hope that Senator McCain will encourage all those healthy heterosexual young men at the Council for National Policy event to volunteer for military service.
I have not been a McCain supporter from the start, I was for Fred Thompson.
However, the Republican Party now has to come together, and give their Support
for the Candidate that has prevailed.
The Democratic Party has Abrogated their Responsibility to get anything Done in
Congress and the Senate for many Years now; Just so they could BASH, BUSH!
This is Childish and Self, Destructive Behavior that we wouldn’t put up with from our children,
let alone our Congressmen and Senators!
It has been and now “IS” past time for them to Pay The Butchers Bill for their Traitorous Actions;
and Inactions Along PARTY LINES for the Defense of our Borders and the Country.
They should Be Held in Contempt and Impeached for the Crime of TREASON With,
Allowing and Abetting, the Illegal Alien Invasion of the United States of America.
Not to mention the Defense and Support of our Troops in Harms way!
They are due to Reap the Consequences of their Actions.
As they Say; ”War is Hell!”, and So; is the Battle to come for the White House.
They have their Complacency and Corruptions along with their Responsibility for;
The Consequences of their Actions too, Just as Every other American Citizen
would have to Pay;
And Pay we do with the Blood and Treasure of our Family’s and their Security;
along with the Border guards incarcerated, and being shot on the Mexican Border.
With our citizens Kidnapped and held for Ransom by the Drug Cartels,
Not to mention Terrorizing the Towns and Counties All across America,
Not Just our Southern Border with Mexico.
Therefore, I want Mr. McCain to Reply and The Party to Respond to this:
“VERY REAL AND PRESENT DANGER” to the Safety and Security of this Nation!
What are you going to do about this to Protect and Support our Citizens Mr. McCain?
END TRANS: MARV!
Hey Juan McAmnesty, say hello to all of your CFR buddies while you’re there.
McCain’s only hope to win this election and the support CNP is to remember who drew the huge support of folks at CPAC–Mitt Romney!!!! Mitt is the man this group and other conservatives will wants to hear is the VP of choice.
There are many reasons McCain needs him–McCain is notably weak on economic issues in a time of economic downturn but it is Romney’s strong suit. McCain is short on funds–way behind either HillBilly or Obamanable, but Romney has another strong suit to compensate here–the man knows how to raise money (about $5 or 6 M every time he had a call day in Boston not to mention other functions–raised more than any other R candidate EVER). Folks love Mitt–just didn’t get to know him quite soon enough to know what an amazing opportunity we had to really have a fine president. At the end they were devestated he was leaving the arena! McCain is perceived as weak on immigration–another strong suit for Romney!!! McCain is not seen as a true fiscal conservative but Romney is. They both get good marks on defense and Hillary’s Texas ad proves again that that is the top issue on people’s minds and will draw in the votes. McCain can draw better from independants, but Mitt will unify the conservative block–especially the staunch Republican Fiscal Conservatives. Also, people are very aware of McCain’s age and broken body from his war experience. They want to see a healthy and vibrant VP who could take over in a hearts beat (or failure to beat) as President!!! Again that would be Mitt Romney!!
I don’t know if he would lower himself to accept a nod for VP, but Mitt, if you are looking at this, you bowed out for the good of the party and the nation–your country needs you to be humble enough to take a VP position–if offered–behind a much lesser man!!!
With Romney on the ticket McCain will beat either Hillary or Obama–and they MUST be beaten. Without him many conservatives may (unwisely) decide to just sit out the elections.
McCain/Romney ‘08 is the only GOP hope of winning.
Marie, Romney for VP is a vote for the Dems…..I for one will stay home in Nov if he’s on the ticket
I am a hard core conservative, something McCain, is not and never can hope to be, not that he wants to be either, he is a liberal in moderates clothing. I and my family have always been very active in politics, our extended family has supplied two Florida Governors and 1 US President. I can tell you this, I have a list of about 70 people who are planning a barbque on election day, 70 people who have not missed a single vote in the last 30 years, one snuck out of the hospital with double pneumonia in 2004, these folks are planning a barbque instead because the numbers show we are not needed, McCain has treated us like we are unwanted, and frankly there is not enough beer in Florida to get us drunk enough to throw the lever for McCain unless it would appear our votes are needed to defeat Hillary Clinton. If you know of any other conservatives who feel like we do, I make a darn good baby back rib.
WHO besides the Obama people care about Hillary’s tax returns! BARRACK get back to the campaign and give us specifics on how YOU propose to fix America!
BARRACK – how are you going to bring the republicans to the table to give us their gains under 8 years of George and Company?
BARRACK – how are you going to balance the BUDGET?
BARRACK – how are you going to get the ECONOMY moving?
BARRACK – how are you going to add American JOBS?
BARRACK – TELL us what YOU are going to DO!
WE DON’T CARE HOW MUCH MONEY HILLARY PAID TO THE IRS! I DON’T EVEN CARE HOW MUCH YOU PAID TO THE IRS BARRACK!
I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU propose to get the RICH to pay their “FAIR SHARE” of our country’s “BILLS”
ANSWERS BARRACK – OR GO BACK HOME!
VOTE HILLARY CLINTON
Vice presidant is a nonfactor in running the country under McCain. If McCain picks mitt, he will not get the important Christian vote and lose.
So Mormons Shut your pie holes!
If Mitt is on the ticket he will get the nonbigoted Christian vote which are the ones that really matter. I agree with Maire that Romney as VP makes the most sense. He has the experience, the intellect and the character to counteract McCains faults. He also already has the name recognition and support that could immediately help bring in money. I for one (and I know I am far from the only one) would once again be able to have hope and excitement for politics again if Romney were picked as VP.
McCain/Romney in 2008!
WHO SHOULD BE JOHN McCAIN VICE PRESIDENTIAL CHOICE.
THE FIRST, MITT ROMNEY. THE GOVEROR RAN A GOOD CAMPAIGN.
NOW THERE’S NO RUSH FOR McCAIN TO NAME A RUNNING MATE.
DRAMA CREATES INTEREST, OF COURSE.
THANKS,
Barrack says his judgement on the war was better, but based upon what?
McCain and Clinton both had breifings and the NIE report (which Clinton admits that she did not read).
Barrack was not in the senate at the time, and received no breifings of any kind.
So just what information did he base his opinion upon?
Was it just a lucky guess?
After all he did not have the actual intelligence reports.
Maybe his opinion on not going to war was based on a breifing from Rev. Wright.
CNN) — More than 7 out of 10 Americans think government spending on the war in Iraq is partly responsible for the economic troubles in the United States, according to results of a recent poll.
In the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll conducted last weekend, 71 percent said they think U.S. spending in Iraq is a reason for the nation’s poor economy. Twenty-eight percent said they didn’t think so.
The weekend poll, timed to coincide with the Iraq war’s fifth anniversary, also showed little U.S. support for the conflict. Fewer than one in three respondents — 32 percent — said they support the war, while 66 percent said they oppose it.
Sixty-one percent of those polled said the next president should remove most U.S. troops from Iraq “within a few months of taking office.”
Only 36 percent of those polled said the situation in Iraq was worth going to war over — down from 68 percent in March 2003, when the war began.

Jerry quotes CNN:

68% said it was worth it when the war began.
Why did Obama have a different opinion? Based upon what?
State Senator,Rev. James T. Meeks (D-IL) is a super delegate pledged to presidential candidate Barack Obama. It has been said that Meeks is an advisor and confidant of Obama. He has also been known to render controversial sermons in the pulpit of his Chicago based church-Salem Baptist. The video below reflects one of his sermons and its message sounds earily familiar.
If you have trouble viewing this video, click here.
Meeks has also been identified as receiving $20,000 in campaign donations from Antoin “Tony” Rezko of Chicago. Obama has recently come under fire for accepting large campaign contributions from Rezko who started receiving tax dollars to build housing for the poor after donating major amounts of money to particular political campaigns. Rezko is currently on trial for corruption charges.
Is it just me or is the Obama campaign starting to sound like a broken record?
HEY OBAMA- THIS IS YOUR SUPER DELEGATE- LOL
Senator Obama is a hypocrite and liar! If all supper delegates have to follow the voice of they voters then Hilary should get Obama’s pledged supper delegates. McCain as old as his republican party and it worries me. Since Obama shown his real color and inexperience, Hilary is only one left standing and she gets my vote.
I am sure you may not want to hear this from a white catholic Canadian 50 plus north of the border.
I am neither a republican nor democrat and American party politics is at best boring and predictable.
So do what is right for the American people – yes the people! Not the Party
I have long respected and felt sorry for my southern neighbors and the deplorable image they have across the world. I think it is unjust!
But this time around, if you vote in McCain or Clinton and don’t understand how you have an opportunity to change the world’s perception of the American people!
Then people like me will stop feeling sorry for you. You will be the “author of you own misery”. Do something right and don’t put politics, party, race, religion and gender before the people!
The world is watching and it is your call! I am tired of feeling sorry for you. From the outside you look like a MESS!!
*Middle east money Clinton’s donations by Arabs and Chinese
Google these words then click on web page then watch video-SHOCKING!!!
A Canadian feeling sorry for America??!!..LOLOL
Canada is like being the little brother to the biggest, toughest kid in school. As long as big brother is around, you’ll never have to worry or actually do anything.
As far as politics, you have a province holding you hostage for years, threating to secede from Canada, unless you do the dual language thing and kiss…well you know.
Worry about your own country.
