McCain Rice Ticket?
It would perhaps seem logical on the surface to some. With Democrats on the verge of making history with either an African American or a female nominee, Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice would certainly compliment the McCain candidacy.
BUT! Senior McCain insiders say she has not until this point been under any serious consideration. That is not to say that she might not be soon.
It was reported recently that Rice attended “The Wednesday Meeting” recently. Lots of people go, its pretty much open to all. It’s a regular weekly meeting held at conservative activist Grover Nordquist’s L Street offices in D.C. Nordquist is head of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) but he dabbles in all sorts of conservative politics.
Rice’s appearance at a recent meeting according to several sources was NOT about auditioning for McCain’s Veep. BUT she sure is an intriguing prospect. Would she make it hard for McCain to fight the democratic charges that he’s running for a third Bush term?

She would be great! But the Dems would be all over her for supporting her boss, the President. They would probably snicker at the idea in public but behind the scenes be quite concerned about someone with Ms. Rice’s experience, smarts, and background.

A McCain/Rice ticket would be unbeatable in November. Rice alone is a better canidate for president than Obama. She is more authentic and will be able to connect with voters.
It would be a great ticket but Pastors like like Obama’s would be all over her for “selling out” and it would have 2 seconds after it was approved
I like the Ideal that there could be a McCain/Rice ticket but the ticket I really want to see is a McCain/JC Watts ticket I think that ticket would also be a unbeatable ticket.
Anthony Grimm -
You are correct, sir. A McCain/Watts ticket would attract the RINOs, republican moderates, and conservatives – it would be a mathematical certainty.
Congressman Watts’ resume, age, and authenticity make him a fantasitc choice. Let’s pray that McCain’s team is smart enough to recognize that.
That would be a great ticket. We shall see.
McCain/Rice would be a fine ticket. It is hard to gauge its effect on the net vote. I would certainly tune in to the vice presidential debate. It would not impact my vote since it is already firmly behind McCain. She certainly would bring a wide range of experience and credibility to the arena. The left would demagogue loudly about … see, Bush III, but I think most voters know that McCain is not going to really be Bush III. Yeah, I would love to see it.
… no problem with JC Watts either … as others state above.
What a great ticket McCain/Rice would be. Condi has been a more than capable Secretary of State. We just got a missile defense system approved by NATA for European defense. We have won the war in Iraq and we’re now working on winning the peace there. We have a greater level of respect in the Middle East than we have had for years. (Trust me on this, I’ve been there.) They respect strength there, and we have shown strength.
If we can hold off the “defeat at any cost” Democrats, which includes their two candidates for President, we will keep an ally and a foothold in the Arab Middle East, which we have never had before. This is what the radical Islamists fear the most.
I’ll support McCain/Rice in 2008, and Rice/whoever in 2012 should John choose not to run for a second term.
Posted by an old white guy in the South.
Is Condelezza married?
Who eventually succeeds as the Democratic nominee will have an impact on this VP decision for
John McCain. Right now it looks like the Democratic nominee will be Barack Obama. I think OBAMA will be easier to defeat than CLINTON would have be.
Because John McCain is a Moderate, the Right Wing of the Republican party will want to see
representation in the VP position. I say stick to the BEST PERSON, regardless of their other “attributes”.
The USA is absolutely ready for either a woman or an ethic person for President and/or VP, but
it has to be the correct person for the job. Condolessa Rice, in my mind, is that person.
The “correct” woman or ethic person would mean that their gender or race would pale in
comparison to their major attributes, unlike Hillary or Barack, where their race and gender is
really the major, if not the only, thing going for them.
The problem with Hillary Clinton for the 1st woman President, is Hillary Clinton.
The problem with Barack Obama for the 1st ethnic President, is Barack Obama.
CONDOLESSA RICE, in my mind, would be FANTASTIC choice, having nothing to do with
gender or race. She has the experience of high governmental office without any of the “strings”
attached to these Senators in terms of lobbying influence, as Senator’s always have. She is a true
“out-sider” with “insider” knowledge. She is an amazingly talented and gifted person that has
demonstrated her ability to stand up to heads of state, the press and critics home and abroad and a focus on what is the best path for the USA in the face of the fiercest of opposition and has
triumphed. She is calm, cool and collected under fire and would be my choice for Republican Vice
President under McCain and I would be proud to have her as my President should the time come!
Unfortunately, her aides have stated that she is not interested. What a shame. The USA could use
someone of her stature and abilities in the Executive branch of Government. Too often we have to
settle for 2nd best. America needs someone like Ms. Rice.
McCain/Rice is a dream ticket. Let’s hope for the country’s sake they can work this out.
If Senator McCain selects Secretary Rice, he will reinforce the fact that the GOP long ago transcended race. They started doing that back in the Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass days. JC Watts would be a very good choice, but Dr. Rice trumps him on executive and international experience. Alaska’s Governor Palin should be considered, but then one comes back to the experience which Secretary Rice will bring to the office. And the potential for bringing in her home state and adopted home state should weigh in as well.
Besides, the fighter pilot could use a divine diplomat.
McCain/Rice ticket
Couldn’t ask for anything better. What a dream ticket. I don’t want to see either Clinton or Obama in the White House. Both lie through their teeth. Clinton would be better than Obama would but I hope the American people see that the truth matters and the only one telling the truth is McCain.
Condoleezza Rice has been single her entire life, so she show covers THREE demographics: black, female, single. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condoleezza_Rice
with ms. rice—80’s ideology in the 21st century. did not and will not work. the demise of the u.s.a. would not be far behind.
Are you guys kidding me, There is no way she should be VP
Why would Rice need a traitor like McShamnesty? She’s a conservative hawk, and McTraitor’s a liberal loser….
Condi doesn’t need to team up with a RINO like McCrap…..

Peoria, IL,
So Rice has experiene or knowledge? I think she does, but I personally do not see this happening. I think it’s a ploy to say hay we seriously considered the black woman. She has too many ties to Bush and Iraq.
*******************************************************************************
What is wrong with Bush and Iraq?
I think that a Condie is great, however I fear that she would tie McCain to the Bush administration. I think Sarah Palin would be a great choice. She has been Gov of Alaska, she is conservative, young and smart. She is also very charismatic.
McCain/Palin
McCain/anyone
McCain/Rice won’t happen. McCain has already proclaimed that he’s the foreign policy expert, and that economic policy is his weak subject. Rice, as a foreign policy expert in her own right, doesn’t help his candidacy in his area of weakness. He’ll pick someone from the economic or busniess sector – like Henry Paulson or Mitt Romney.
I’ll take JC Watts anyday of the week – he’s one of the few remaining Reaganites. The republican party, in its present form, is a sell-out.
Conservatives wanted.
Super Goatboy,
Look at the polls. it doesn’t matte if it was right or wrong, America desn’t like it.. You want to win the election, do you?
Is Condi working for Obama?
She might be smart but she will cost McCain “the middle of the road” votes. (Democratic party ~ 72M, Republican ~ 55M, independents ~ 42M). Many independents are fed up with democrats but more with Condoleezza.
Condi on the ticket would be an ace if McCain pulled it. It would change the dynamic of the race.
Condi is too smart to want to stay in that snake pit of Wash. DC.
Dr. Condi Rice would make an excellent vice-president.
She like Hillary R. Clinton is a woman of substance.
She like Hillary R. Clinton have their Sun Sign in Scorpio
She like Hillary R. Clinton have great intellectual capacity
She like Hillary R. Clinton have dedicated their lives to public service and have done an excellent job and deserve our respect.
So, McCain would be lucky if she accepted and I am sure some strategist are working the race angle….. But I will say one thing John S. McCain will need a lot of help because especially if Hillary Rodham Clinton is the Democratic Nominee, she is to strong for him on all levels……..
Condi is a smart, classy lady & would definitely vote for that ticket. Still hoping for ROMNEY managed MA very well, well-spoken, managed a business, appears to be a good family man. It would be refreshing to have a DECENT pair in not the embarrassment and endangering of Clintons nor weakness of Obama with his admiration of racist Anti-Americans.
Campaigns will crunch numbers for states they need to win, get it & want Republicans in no DOUBT. Hope that ROMNEY fills out and completes McCAIN ticket with those numbers!!!!
An airplane was about to crash; there were 5 passengers on board, but had only 4 parachutes. The first passenger said, “I am Kobe Bryant, the best NBA basketball player; the Laker’s need me, I can’t afford to die.” So he took the first pack and left the plane. The second passenger, Hillary Clinton said, “I am the wife of the former U.S. President, a Senator from New York , and a potential future president. I am the smartest woman in American history, so America ’s people don’t want me to die.” She took the second pack and jumped out of the plane. The third passenger, John Kerry, said, “I’m the Senator from the great state of Massachusetts “. I was my party’s last nominee for President. So he grabbed the pack next to him and jumped. The fourth passenger, President George W. Bush, said to the fifth passenger, a10-year-old schoolgirl, “I have lived a full life, and served my country well, I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute.”The girl said, “That’s okay There’s a parachute left for you. America ’s smartest woman took my schoolbag.”

Mr. Cameron,
Have you been reading my blog!? http://oldfordroad.wordpress.com/2008/03/06/mccains-keys-to-victory/
Or maybe great minds think alike?
I tend to think a McCain/Condi ticket would absolutely stun the Democrat Party–it would hit them with something they never saw coming. It would create much needed cognitive dissonance among all the eager voters who want “change” so very badly. Sure, the Dems may try to paint an even larger “Bush 3rd Term” picture, but if the surge continues to progress in Iraq, McCain and Condi will be vindicated.
But a McCain/Watts ticket would also stun the Dems with a broadside blast. Assuming Obama is the Dem nominee, it would again cause the voters to realize that Obama isn’t the only person who can change history. It will remind voters that conservatives and vibrant, thoughtful Republicans come from every walk of life. Watts would be the conservative counterpoint to Obama’s liberal rhetoric and Watt’s would change the dialogue about the kind of change that this country really needs.
I can’t wait to see who McCain picks, but I hope he picks a good one.
Don’t pick Condi just for “attributes”. McCain needs someone to satisfy the conservative wing of the party, otherwise the Dems will win because the turnout just won’t be there. It isn’t enough to have the base against someone, they need to be for someone and show up in great numbers. McCain just doesn’t do that for most. Some states in the South will probably be in play this year (against conventional wisdom) and it has nothing to do with the Huckatwits but the fact that African Americans will be very motivated with Obama and turnout (like he has demonstrated everywhere he goes) will be huge for him.
While I am a staunch Romney supporter, I would love to have Watts on the ticket. He is a real conservative, unlike Rice or Powell that folks like to throw out all the time. They are much more moderate, especially on social issues.
Rep. Watts had a stellar record.
Anyone know what he is up to these days?
Condi would be great, but she is too tied to the Bushies to do well with independants or cross-over voters. It migth look a little strange too–like the R’s are trying to trump the D’s by having a combined woman/black in one person.
MITT ROMNEY IS THE BEST CHOICE BECAUSE OF HIS KNOWLEDGE OF ECONOMIC MATTERS IN THIS BAD ECONOMIC SITUATION PLUS, IT IS APPARENT THAT HE HELPED MC CAIN A LOT IN FUNDRAISING THIS MONTH AND HE CAN RAISE MONEY LIKE NO OTHER R CANDIDATE EVER HAS!
That is something that McCain will need to win in November. I’m not talking about Mitt’s personal fortune–I’m sure he has already maxed out for McCain. He has an unparalelled organization including Many wealthy individuals who will contribute some if he is just helping McCain right now (with the hope of an M & M ticket) but that will dry up immediately if Mitt is rejected!
We need Mitt!!!!!!!!!!!!
M & M ‘08! Rove and Hannity know politics and he is their pick.
Rice is such a great person, but earlier comments that she will draw in the moderates and RINO’s is way off base. She is very much establishment, totally tied to the war in Iraq (which I support but independants and RINO’s not so much).
Romney will placate the social and especially the fiscal conservatives who are feeling ambivilent because of McCain’s obvious lack of knowledge on anything economic (by his own admission).
There is only room on the ticket for one “foreign policy expert.” Rice is also just too tied to the current administration.
I AM ANGRY, AND HURT THAT THE MEDIA DOESN’T GET IT!!
The story needed to be told… because our health care system is broken. Nitpicking the details should not detract from the FACT that in our advanced nation NO woman and her baby should die as a result of untreated preeclampsia. Just think how many people do not get regular health care
You people are so naive. My daughter suffers from MS. She recently came down with pneumonia, half dead, double pneumonia. She laid in an emergency room here in Florida for hours. She could have died, because the pneumonia was so embedded in both lungs.
Many times she has been refused treatment, because she does not have insurance. I would have to step in and sign a piece of paper to take on the responsibility of payment, or she could be treated. You don’t know all of what goes on in the US. Hillary might have not gotten all the facts right, but the major issue is what she is trying to get across and that is people are dying here in the US, because they can not get the treatment they need. We need Hillary who cares for the families of America to be our President, because she is the only one that truly cares about this issue. She will get all of us health care, and you can’t put a price on that. If you have health care, that is great, but a lot of people don’t and because of their misfortune they shouldn’t pay the price of dying for it. This is America, not a third world country.
Wake up Obamanites, and the media and give credit where credit is due.
The sad thing is that the good things Hillary tries to do, are taken out of context. When Obama does something, like Wright, Ayers, Farrahkan it is shoved under the rug. If Obama is elected I will hold the media responsible for this and that includes CNN, MSNBC, and several of the newspapers. The media is suppose to give us the facts about all the candidates, and not take personal political advantage and spread lies about some candidates and hide the truth about others. I am saddened at the negative press the media has given Hillary Clinton. It has been totally unjustified. More needs to be done on the real issue of a man unvetted, unknown, with all his garbage of his anti American, racist friends. That is the story that should be told. That is the story that might save America from the doom it will face if he is the nominee.
Hillary is a woman, a wife, a mother and the only one fit to run this country. She has the experience, the compassion, and the fortitude to get the job done.

Presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton has picked up another superdelegate in Arkansas who said he’ll support the state’s former first lady.
Land Commissioner Mark Wilcox, who was selected last month as the Arkansas Democratic Party’s last remaining superdelegate to the national convention, said Monday he’s supporting the New York senator.
Wilcox says the only way he’d change his mind is if Clinton drops out of the race before the convention this summer.
Wilcox’s support gives Clinton 11 of the state’s 12 superdelegates, members of Congress and other party leaders who are not selected in primaries and caucuses. The superdelegates supporting Clinton include Governor Beebe and Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln.

Our online calling tool is an excellent way for you to spend time on extremely high value volunteer work – and you can do it from home. Earlier this month, we set a big goal for Hillary supporters: 1,000,000 calls to help us make history. We blew right past that goal, making record numbers of calls into key states. Let’s keep it going and try to make more than 1.5 million calls this week! If you have used the online calling tool before you know that it’s easy to use and effective. If you haven’t used it before, now is the perfect time to get started.

How about a “Make a million phone calls” counter?
——————————————————————————–
Board member Coach gets total credit for this idea, which came to me via PM. We have a “let’s contribute X amount!” counter on the site, which worked great in getting people motivated to keep donating money. How about a similar counter showing how many phone calls members have made for the campaign?
Let’s say we set a goal of…whatever! (Coach said a million), and then have people post their daily totals, or use some other method of tallying them all up for an ongoing total. Then we could see how close we are to our target, and I think it would really motivate people to keep those phone calls going.

Have you ever wonder ????? READ THESE FACTS>>>
WHY GOP surrogates such as FOX news, and other conservative Media personalities are doing all they can to destroy SENATOR CLINTON CAMP???
– RUSH LIMBAUGH – THE AUTHOR OF “OPERATION CHAOS” -”WHICH VERY PURPOSE IS to make an impression reverse to what was intended” – to trick and produce a perception upon the minds of Democrats supporters that SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON is only winning because of this operation, but in reality is trying to help BARRACK OBAMA to clinch the nomination.
TO ALL DEMOCRATS PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING FACTS>>>
Why the GOP Loves Obama???????
Republicans this week are breathing a deep sigh of relief.
What was seen as a washout for them this coming November — with big losses expected in the House and Senate and a catastrophic loss of the White House — is now shaping up to be less ominous.
With the Democrats moving to pick Sen. Barack Obama as their nominee, the Republicans see a real opportunity to keep the Oval Office in GOP hands.
There is no question that the Republicans had viewed Hillary Clinton as the most formidable of the Democratic candidates.
During one of the primary debates, Obama suggested that the Republicans were “comfortable” attacking Hillary, suggesting they actually wanted her to be the nominee. Au contraire.
Republicans were attacking Mrs. Clinton because they believed she would be the nominee. They could hardly foresee Obama’s rise.
Indeed, she was the Democratic front-runner and hence the focus of their attacks. Now, Obama is discovering that he’s the focus of Republican scrutiny, with John McCain highlighting Obama’s accommodationist views with tyrants.
The glee seen in GOP eyes this week can be chalked up to the clearly visible fault lines shaping up for the November election, a seismic battle between McCain and Obama.
There are many reasons the GOP would rather face Obama. Here are some of the best reasons:
Obama is the risky liberal. Every time the Democrats run a liberal like Obama, who the National Journal reports has a 100 percent liberal voting record, they lose.
Remember President McGovern, President Dukakis, President Kerry? Mrs. Clinton, however, has been quite clever in her record and rhetoric to come across as more moderate. In New York state she consistently won hardcore Republican districts in her two Senate races.
A McCain insider told me this week that Obama’s support — for example, for driver’s licenses for illegals — is worth at least “five percentage points in the election.” Mrs. Clinton was smart enough to back away from that hot-button issue.
Obama energizes Democratic voters. It’s been talked about quite a bit that Obama is a charismatic man who energizes young voters. But young voters notoriously don’t vote.
Remember all the hoopla in the last election with MTV and its “Vote or Die” campaign to bring out antiwar young voters for President Kerry?
Indeed, Obama, as the first African-American candidate of a major party, will energize black voters. But don’t the Democrats know that black voters vote as a bloc for them already?
What does Obama actually bring to the table for Democrats? It’s not clear. Mrs. Clinton, as her longtime critic Dick Morris likes to point out, would have most assuredly energized women voters, especially millions of single moms that have never voted before.
Obama’s Latino problem. Clearly Latino or Hispanic voters are shaping up to be the key swing vote in this election, as they have been in recent elections. Some political pundits say George Bush’s come-from-behind win in 2004 was due to the solid 40 percent of Hispanics who voted for him, tipping the election in his favor.
This year was shaping up to be a terrible year for the GOP vis-à-vis Hispanic voters. But in primary after primary, Obama has had great difficulty winning over Latino voters.
Even in Illinois, where he beat Hillary to 2 to 1 in the primary, he only captured 52 percent of his home state’s Hispanic vote.
There are a variety of explanations for Obama’s Latino problem, including the belief there is an ethnic rivalry between Hispanics and blacks. Hispanics would like to see a Latino president in the White House, so the theory goes.
Mrs. Clinton, on the other hand, has done extremely well among Latino voters, perhaps owing to her husband’s likeability among these voters.
The recent primaries show Obama improving with Hispanic voters. Republicans, however, believe the problem with this key group will persist.
And then there is John McCain, who is the one Republican who is very well liked by Latino voters. He’s also a strong leader, which Hispanics respect. He’s pro-immigrant. As we all know, McCain joined Ted Kennedy in backing the recent immigration bill.
There’s little doubt Hillary could keep the Democratic stranglehold on Latino voters. Obama won’t.
Obama’s naiveté. Don’t forget, America is still in a war on terror. It is doubtful America will be tempted to go for an untested leader, no matter how charismatic he may be.
Some have drawn the comparison between Obama and JFK’s election win in 1960 during the height of the Cold War. But the Kennedy-Obama comparison is a weak one. For starters, John Kennedy was a war hero when he was elected president. Obama can make no such claim. Kennedy also had far more Washington experience in Congress and the Senate than Obama.
JFK also had his well-known father Joe at his side. And Democrats like to forget this, but Kennedy outflanked Nixon on defense issues, arguing that Nixon was too soft on communism. Obama’s dovish complaints about the Bush administration being too hawkish on terror won’t resonate with middle-of-the-road voters.
With good reason, the GOP is feeling better, finding its second wind as it coalesces around John McCain.
Despite some differences with the maverick senator, the Republican base will turn out for him. His $12 million fundraising haul for January is just one sign of that.
But there are many other reasons the GOP is more comfortable with Hillary out of the picture and Obama as the nominee.
First, Obama will not be able to lay claim to the good economic times of the 1990s that Bill Clinton presided over, as Hillary can. And Obama will be a nightmare for Democrats with swing voters in key states. Take for example the highly influential Cuban-American vote that Bill Clinton won in 1992 and 1996 — and was the key reason George Bush beat Al Gore.
The Cuban vote has been moving into the Democratic column but they will not go for Obama because he has clearly stated he will open up relations with Castro.
Sen. Clinton’s announced Cuba policies take a hard line, which resonates with these voters. And then there are the key Jewish communities in swing states like Florida and Ohio that are already deeply worried about electing Obama to the presidency.
Obama has talked openly about sitting down — without any preconditions — with Iran’s diabolical leader Ahmadinejad, who just this week referred to Israel as “bacteria” and has said in the past that the Jewish state is a “disgraceful blot” that should be “wiped off the map.”
With the McCain campaign blanketing key markets with TV ads featuring “independent Democrat” Sen. Joseph Lieberman, Obama will be in deep trouble.
The Democrats haven’t completely abandoned Hillary. But it sure looks that way.
There’s an oft-quoted saying that the Democrats “fall in love and Republicans fall in line.”
After this November, we may have to change that to “Democrats often like to run off the side of a cliff and the Republicans love to watch them.”
OUR APPEAL TO DNC LEADERSHIP AND ALL SUPERDELEGATES IS TO SUPPORT….

Quote:
Just now below Lono again used this rationale for his belief that Hillary has no chance at all to win. So many Obama ites keep citing the mantra,”It’s the math” “she can’t win” it is impossible for her to win’.
The other mantra now is “Rules are Rules” to justify the disenfranchisement of two major democrat states that are critical to the dems and will continue to be critical for the dems, in the general election. And who may well sit out the election in droves if they do not get to have their votes counted.
But the truth is: the GOP has no such similar rules as this in the current BY Laws. And The DNC had NO RULES SUCH AS THESE until this Election!
That’s the point. The DNC made it a rule this time for this election. And they have the same power to alter and adjust the rules at all times.
And even at this very ,moment the DNC has it within their own by laws, the ability to change and/or alter any rule at any moment for any reason, should the need arise.
Well the need has arisen due to the very tight race the country has here between HRC and Obama.
Further the states all assumed the DNC would make allowances for them should things get to a point where we had no clear obvious winner.
So that’s point one. Rules can be adjusted and it is already a RULE within the DNC that they have the power to alter the RULES if need be.
So the Rules are Rules argument is specious at his base.
It is at really a disingenous argument.
The other is the math.
With Florida and Mich’s votes counted the math changes.
Further, even without those two states…if Obama continues to implode and Hillary continues to do well.,that will be something for the super delegates to consider.
The race isn’t over yet.
And the most important factor in all of this is that although Obama has managed to, thus, far only(before the Wright debacle) managed to win a bunch of small states and co-opt all these caucuses(which are really pretty meaningless exercises in popularity of certain very select small groups but in no way reflective of any ability to win across the country at large)…but he has LOST all of the major democratic Blue states!
In the general he wouild have to win The Blue states all won by Hillary thus far and he would have to win them BIG in order to beat Mccain in the fall.
If these blue states have HRC supporters who either vote for McCain or stay home that’s bad for Obama winning in the general election. And polls say the HRC supporters and some of the Obama supporters will do just that if either side loses.
And you can be sure If Florida and Michigan are not allowed a way to count their votes or re-vote their state you can be sure these two states will certainly not be compelled to vote for any dem in 2008.These sates went to Hillary. So try and figure THAT math in the fall from the loss of many voters from these states should not not have the primary count
The Obamaites keep saying it’s the math and Rules are Rules..
And they can whistle that tune until November when they lose to McCain if they disenfrachise Fla and Mich.
The DNC Dean and Donna Brazil desperately wanted Obama to be the candidate and they still do, but they surely know what a bind their Rules changes have created this go ’round now. And most certainly they never counted on Jerimiah Wright appearing when they pushed The Obama as the new savior/messiah upon the gullible masses.
His exposure must have sent shock waves through-out the powers that be in the DNC.
They must be having some very animated and heated discussions in the DNC behind closed doors these days.

Experts agree that the current 3000 plus figure already exceeds research needs.

Yes sir, time to vote for BO or the Banshee. We wouldn’t want to cause the “Peaceful” Iranians to think we might be a threat to them. They might just decide to convert their “Peaceful” program into a bomb factory.
Ooooh. Let’s negotiate.
I would have voted for Rice in a heartbeat but i’m fearful that it will contact McCain to
Bush (I voted for and have never been sorry). I am not familar with this Watts the
bloggers are talking about. Can someone tell me more about him Thanks
Newt Gingrich has all the right idealogy and could debate any Dem into a hole.
I agree, Newt would be a really good choice
Patty, apparently you have trouble reading the topic of this thread regarding a potential ticket between Senator McCain and Dr. Rice. That is cool, it gives me just another chance to play that exciting game of PONG with the Clintons. By the way, why do you keep asking peoply to donate when she only loaned her campaign money? I mean the woman has been AVERAGING $1,560 per HOUR since leaving the White House.
Bill and Hillary were the first baby boomers in the White House. As such, it is fitting to look at that game of our youth – PONG.
Ping: While out campaigning Hillary is aiming for the
blue collar workers telling them she understands
their fears trying to meet the mortgage.
Pong: The Clintons have made $108 million since leaving the
White House. That is roughly $1,560 per hour — enough to
pay most people’s mortgage.
Ping: When campaigning Hillary says Healthcare must be
resolved and nobody should ever be without Health
Insurance Coverage.
Pong: Despite the $108 Million Income Hillary has not paid
her workers health insurance to Aetna for 3 months.
Perhaps that poor girl at the hospital was a Clinton worker
worker who actually thought she had insurance.
Ping: Hillary came begging her Americans contributions for her
campaign with pleas aimed at “fellow sisters” to contribute
$3 million absolutely needed in 72hours – every $20 counts.”
Pong: Hillary has earned $112,000 during those same 72 hours given
the Clinton’s income since leaving the Presidency.
Ping: Romney contributed millions to his campaign.
Pong: Hillary has only loaned her campaign the $5 million. She
expects Joe Sixpack to pay her back. That’s
income redistribution — Clinton style.
During the coming weeks we will continue to investigate that game with crazy turns and twists Ponging with the Clintons.
I have just purchased and started rading Newt’s new book. Unlike a lot of conservitives he has moved forward to facing the challenges of the 21nd Century.
If you have not read his new book go over to
newtgingrich.com
and order Winning the Future A 21st Century Contract With America. It includes Newt’s suggestions for reforming America’s competitiveness, reforming Social Security, getting a handle on healthcare and reforming it to give better care etc.
Many people mistakenly give Bill Clinton credit for the Budget Surplus that occured during his Administration. That is a bunch of unmitigated feldercarb. Article 1 Section 7 of the Constitution gives the Revenue bills origination to the House of Representatives. This and the good fortune of his having Allen Greenspan and the peace dividend from the collapse of the Soviet Union gave us the surplus. Do not think that a peace divident can go on forever, the world is a dangerous place.
Newt — A great choice then, a better choice now.
Hello Condi, good-bye democrats for a long long time….
Condoleeza Rice Is a lap dog to bush. It would be a disaster for McCain to pick her.
In fact, all of the Bush kronnee’s need to keep their big noses out of this election.
P.S Condoleeza has a oil tanker named after her. Americans are tired of the oil people running the country.
How bout Newt?
Back in 1977, when Newt Gingrich was a professor at West Georgia College, he had an affair with Anne Manning, the wife of another professor.
“We had oral sex,” Anne Manning revealed. “He prefers that modus operandi because then he can say, ‘I never slept with her.’” She added that Gingrich threatened her: “If you ever tell anybody about this, I’ll say you’re lying.” This anticipated Bill Clinton’s defense in the Monica Lewinsky scandal by many years. Great minds think alike!
Back in 1994, when Gingrich became Speaker, spouting family values rhetoric, Democrats were livid, because everyone on Capitol Hill knew that Gingrich was dating Calista Bisek, a Congressional aide who was 23 years younger.
Big Oil!
Condoleezza Rice was a Chevron Director from 1991 until January 15, 2001 when she was transferred by President George Bush Jr. to National Security Adviser. Previously she was Senior Director, Soviet Affairs, National Security Council, and Special Assistant to President George Bush Sr. from 1989 to 1991.
Mark – So what is your consensus on Newt’s sexual life?
lets go hillary
Comeon Patty,
Is the Hillary campaign so bankrupt that you cannot afford to even reput any of the charges? But then, it is pretty hard to rebut them, and with that hourly salary of $1,560 it is best to move on. After all, she needs to find somebody who is having trouble with a mortgage that she can have empathy with.
i would just like to offer my humble opinion regarding a vp choice.
tom ridge, former congressman and 2 term governor of pa., and first director of homeland security possesses a strong and formidable character….would appeal greatly to all republicans..conservative and moderatle alike, has indelible foreign policy experience, and poses a strong presence to the world.
this does not take away from condi rice….not in the least. i find her equally impressive.
however, unfortunately, she comes to the country as a bush administrator…and this may keep some votes away. sad to say, that is a state of contention for a large portion of america.
I would vote for McCain/Rice, but feel that it would cause the country to be bogged down in Iraq forever. I as a high school senior would love for my first vote for president to go to McCain/Palin(Gov. of Alaska), McCain/Lingle(Gov. of Hi) or McCain/Watts. If I am not mistaken Watts is a former Oklahoma Congressman. It works for me. But if he picks Romney or Huckabee I will be voting Libertarian. I refuse to vote for a liar(Romney) and I refuse to vote for another Dick Cheney(Huck). I also would be open to the unity ticket everyone is talking about in the sense that McCain picks Hillary. He would win then dump her after 4 years for someone else and run again(if still breathing). Just a few thoughts.
The Clinton’s are too evil to let them near the White House. If she cannot win the nomination on the Democratic side, getting in on the Republican side would be her chance. I would not trust that women to let him live more than a few weeks past his innaugaration.
Throughout this election, it has become my obsession to say as many negative things about Mike Huckabee as my imagination can come up with. My vehement hatred for the man all stems from one question that he casually posed to a NY Times reporter (who claimed to know a lot about Mormonism) about whether or not Mormons believe that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers. As a Mormon, I do believe that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers. However, my bishop (at the ward I attend) instructs us to conceal such ‘deeper doctrines’ because people outside of the LDS Church just don’t understand such truths, and their unwillingness to accept them only jeopardizes our attempts to market ourselves as a Christian religion. In any event, I will go on hating Huckabee for a million eternities, because I am so insecure in my own faith that I have no other choice but to hate him with a demonic passion. Instead, as a temple-worthy Mormon (complete with magic underpants), I support wholeheartedly and without reservation my fellow cult member, Mitt Romney. If only he were elected President (or at least Vice President) then maybe my false religion would gain some credibility and people would no longer think us as a cult. Of course, you bozos in Eldorado, Texas are complicating matters greatly by actually following the teachings of our founder/prophet, Joseph Smith. Us mainline Mormons are smart enough to hide the less attractive aspects of our religion (such as polygamy, our aspirations to godhood, secret temple ceremonies including the handshake that gets you into heaven, magic underwear, etc.) instead of flaunting them like this splinter group of Mormons in Texas.
All Mormons (and others of equally deficient IQs), I would encourage you to follow my lead…
Say it with me…
HUCAKBEE IS THE DEVIL; ROMNEY IS GOD…HUCAKBEE IS THE DEVIL; ROMNEY IS GOD…HUCAKBEE IS THE DEVIL; ROMNEY IS GOD…HUCAKBEE IS THE DEVIL; ROMNEY IS GOD…HUCAKBEE IS THE DEVIL; ROMNEY IS GOD…HUCAKBEE IS THE DEVIL; ROMNEY IS GOD…
The more often you repeat this mantra (as is the case when you bear your testimony as a Mormon), the more convinced you will become of its truthfulness. Say it a few times and see if, you too, do not get a burning feeling in your bosom to verify its validity.
Shelby/Ed/American Conservitive/Whatever Moniker You Choose Next
You still have not taken the time to answer my simple question. I mean if we are going to have a meaningful discussion does it not best start at the begginning? You cannot get any closer to the begginning than Genesis Chapter 1.
How do you relate the separation of day from night on Day 1 as testifed to by Genesis 1:3, from the fact that Genesis 1:14-18 talks about God crating the Sun, Moon, and Stars on the fourth day.
This should be an extremely easy question for one as trained as your are to answer.
On April 4th, 2008 at 3:21 pm using the “non-Mormon” American Conservitive persona you stated:
I am also very familiar with the unorthodox, unbiblical teachings of the Mormon religion. Like you, I have advanced degrees in theology and have taken numerous courses on various cults and world religions. To me, Mormonism is the most deceptive due to their efforts to closely counterfeit real (biblical) Christianity. The Mormon people I know (several dozen) are good people, but their church’s doctrine is deceptive, misleading, and dupes untold numbers of biblically illiterate people into believing something that tries to appear Christian but is anything but that.
This will mark the fourth time I have asked this simple intreat. I would have thought that to somebody with Advanced Degrees in Theology such as yourself that my simple question would be easy. It covers far less than even 1 Chapter from the Bible.
There is no need for me to cast pearls before swine (to quote Jesus). The purpose of your question is obviously to promote your cult’s erroneous notion that the Bible is not trustworthy (in contrast to the Book of Mormon). However, your attempts to discredit the Bible only verify the fact that you belong to a non-Christian cult. I have no problem with you believing as you do – that’s your right. Just don’t lie and call it Christian (even as you try to convince people the Bible cannot be trusted).
Shelby,
Are you sure that the difference discussed in Genesis Chapter 1 did not come up in you Advanced Religious Degrees? I make no such claim on my part, other than to have read the first Chapter in the Bible and to have noticed the difference.
Just this once, can’t you cast a little bit my way? I mean since you brought up the issue of religion into this thread it would be the seemly thing to do.
McCain and J.C. Watts….now you’re talking !.
Rice as VP? Do you really want little Bush to stay in the loop? Remember Rice refered to Bush as her husband.
If America ever elected McCain/Watts…At least Somebody on the White House Flag Football team could actually throw.
Picking Condi would be too much giving Bush a third term and nobody wants that.
This is why the Rebublican base moved left and nominated John McCain.
Joe Lieberman is currently John McCain’s go to guy. I would keep my eye on him.
Patti in Arizona? I’m sure you are JESTING about Shrill & caring about kids right??? All those sob stories she tries to pull off is soooooo GHASTLY, both she & Obama’s policies are AWFUL socialist garbage. He does the sob stories with more heart, but BOTH PHONY & so obvious. I’m still hoping for ROMNEY FOR VP!!!!!!
Shrill is a mentally ill sociopath that looks like she’s about to crack like fragile glass. NObody lives a SHAM life like she has & not have her head screwed up, sorry, you have to live true to yourself & others. It sure gives you FREEEDOM & ENJOYMENT IN LIFE and meaningful relationships!!!!
ROMNEY FOR VP!!! I hope the number crunching and polls show that he will help the ticket. I don’t go for making serious decisions by the polls, but in this voting state by state, Republicans have to see how & with who they can succeed!!! Obamas both are racist with chips on their shoulders, just don’t think a person can make fair and sound decisions with that hang up and prejudice. Shrill is just a ridiculous SOCIALIST & when that is NOT what’s best for America don’t know why she keeps regurgitating that FICTION.

Why the GOP Loves Obama

By: Christopher Ruddy Article Font Size
- SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON IF YOU WANT TO WIN BACK THE WHITE HOUSE.

Wow, wasn’t the GOP blaimed when the Obama Team was winning and the Clinton team faltering to have them vote for Clinton. Well, I have never agreed to try getting the other fellows teams elected.
We had a race of our own at that time between the McCain Team and my own choices for the racebeing Romney. My candidate lost and I came out strongly for McCain. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
On the Democrat side you still have a big race going on betweenClinton and Obama. I gind it amazing that we are accused of having somebody loving him enough to create a sexual row. Pure and simply, that is not the way we operate.
Shelby, Shelby, Shelby
Where is your sense of decency? You desecrate some very sacred things. Why don’t you go ahead and tell it like it is? Mormons believe in a pre-mortal existence. In that realm two plans were presented, one by Satan and one by Christ. Satan’s plan was to abolish all of man’s agency and choices, The Savior’s plan was to allow freedom of choice and to provide a way for mankind to atone for sins. (Which meant he was actually accepting God’s plan.) Satan rebelled, was cast out along with a third of the hosts of heaven, and never allowed to have a mortal body, but was allowed to deceive and tempt mankind.
Reverend Huckabee definitely knew this doctrine (He had been a featured speaker at a Baptist convention in Salt Lake City in the late 90’s as well (as I presume) having been taught Mormon basic beliefs in order to be able to defeat the Mormons during his ministry studies.) , but was deliberately stating it in a way to confound the truth.
Romney is not God. A lot of Mormons wouldn’t vote for him because they are Democrats (Freedom of Choice again). Huckabee is not the Devil, but he is not totally honest either. (My opinion) But you can save your rantings. Neither man will be selected to run with McCain. The religion issue in both cases brings too much baggage to the table.
And as for your reference to the special undergarment certain Mormons wear. They are merely reminders of our covenants to try to live Christ-like lives.
Shelby,
Why do you want to spend your life hating Huckabee?
All you have to do is wait till you die and become a god yourself, then you will have all the power you need to dam Huckabee for eternity.
Federal law requires that to claim a minority status, you must be at least 1/8 of the descriptor, but for the sake of this article, I’ve converted it to a decimal fraction for easier comprehension. You must be at least 12.5% of the racial component you claim for minority status. Mr. Obama, claiming to be African-American, is half the legal threshold.
Read it all, very interesting Obama lied about being African American!
That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother’s side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father’s side.By law you must be at least You must be at least 12.5% of the racial component you claim for minority status.
Wow hope you all feel good now, lmao.
Need proof? Research the Kenyan records for yourself. You will find that his father was officially classified as “Arab African” by the Kenyan government.

Maybe I just want to know that if he gets the presidency, he will get it honestly – if this is general knowledge, and he overcomes it. Maybe I’m just tired of presidents who lie to us; and in this case, I already know Mr. Obama will lie to us, just as he lied in his autobiography, and on so many other occasions documented by Mr. Cohen, by Michael Dobbs, the Washington Post’s factchecker, and so many others.
Typical conservative thinking.

Condoleezza Rice would be an AWESOME addition to the McCain Presidency. I have been rooting for her for years. She is a brilliant, trustworthy, gracious woman and would continue to be an incredibly invaluable asset to our country and our White House. Please, Condi, say yes!!
Shelby,
I am still waiting for your answer. You have previously posted that you have an Advanced Degree in Religion, something that I have never claimed. I’ll respond to your inquiry as if I have no clue of the answer, that way you can cut to the quick and get right to your point – you feel like the Bible is filled with errors. Fine, okay, no problem. You’re welcome to disparage and discredit the Word of God. He can (and will) defend Himself (and incidentally, I pity people like you who will be objects of His wrath). JUST DON’T CALL YOUR MORMON RELIGION CHRISTIAN – YOU DON’T BELIEVE THE BIBLE, FINE! CONTINUE IN YOUR COUNTERFEIT CULT – May it bring you happiness in THIS life, ‘cuz (unless you turn from your man-made cult and come to faith in Christ), you’re toast in the next.
Why can we not have this dicussion without bringing religion into it? Romney and Huckabee are both well-meaning religious individuals, so why can we not leave it at that? I agree with cauboidel: Huckabee and Romney both come with too much baggage, so McCain won’t go with either of them.
Charlie Crist would be a solid choice.
Wow Red! If only the rest of the Republican Party could be as honest as you.
What a shame the Congress and Senate of 1947, could not imagine the spouse of the President running for President. If they had, we may not have to watch the Democratic Party loose face in the public eye. The 22nd amendment would read: No person or their spouse shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person or their spouse who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

Would you prefer Sharia law instead Michael? Perhaps you want a Hindu flavour to your laws (sacred cows…paritially cremated bodies floating down the Ganges…etc.). Or maybe some obscure Buddhist teachings?
Maybe you want a totally secular approach? The USSR tried that and failed. China lives with it..barely. Is that secular and “non-caucasian” enough for you? By the way…are you implying some kind of racism intrinsic in our laws as well?
Like it or not, Judeo-Christian principals are instrinsic in our laws and they work.
It’s freedom of religion Michael..not freedom from religion. Stop trying to hijack the Constitution to address your socialist agendas.
You may not like it but it’s a fact all the same.
I think it’s a great idea, but how are you going to get her skin lightened and that sex-change operation completed in time to make her more appealing to the Republican base?

It seems the only religion above the law is the Mormons. They have been left to practice polygamy from the time Brigham Young led them into the wilderness.

Actually, I think the real mormon church (i.e., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) abandoned polygamy in the late 1800s when the government declared it to be illegal. Those still practicing polygamy are separatists and not at all affiliated with the mainstream LDS church, and the government has been prosecuting them over the last 30+ years.

Mainstream Mormonism rejected polygamy in 1890. The practice that’s carried on today is not in line with mainstream Mormon practice.
Well, with respect to McCain’s VP, does anyone have any interesting choices? I still like Gov. Charlie Crist because he’s from a key state (Florida) and seems to be respected by Democrats and Republicans.

……………………………………..
I like Crist also but I’d like to do a little more research on him to seal the deal. He’s energetic, charismatic and certainly reassure the “right” of the party.
The funny thing is, when I spoke to some stubborn Democrats about Rice joining McCain (lightheartedly), they threw up their hands in surrender. They felt that would be an unbeatable scenario for them.
Rice has been doing some amazing work of late.
I don’t know about Rice. She seems like a strong individual, but I wonder if she would alienate too many people because she is from ‘The Administration’. Mabye too much of a Bush presence on the ticket would hurt McCain nationally.
She seems strong and capable, though.

I think she could shake that pretty quickly by offering what she’s been doing of late. It’s no small feat to bring Isreal and the Palestinian authority to the table while rockets are landing in Israel from Hamas.
And I think the non partisan female voting base that will feel “ripped off” when Hillary looses would rally to her. Her strength of character and fortitude should appeal to that demographic.
But..this scenario isn’t likely, I can’t see Condoleeza Rice being made the offer let alone accepting. But it’s fun to see the chill of terror in Dems faces at the thought..lol.
typo…Israel…
McCain should pick the BEST person for his VP regardless of race or gender! Look what the Democrats now have to offer America…Obama (because he is black) and Clinton (because she is female)…both major losers! Rice is tied too close to the Bush Administration…a wrong VP choice for McCain.
Further info. on similarities and differences between LDS and FLDS…
The Mormon Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS); the church in El Dorado is the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS).
They both claim Joseph Smith as their founding prophet, but the FLDS actually follow his (Smith’s) teachings more consistently than the LDS folks (who are obsessed with appearing socially acceptable) do.
The main two prophets of Mormonism (be it FLDS or LDS) are Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, both of whom preached and practiced polygamy. The FLDS continue to obey their teachings (so-called revelations) about polygamy, whereas the LDS quit doing so in 1890 so that the Utah Territory could be granted statehood. (The U.S. government (at the time) would not allow a state in the union the citizens of which practiced polygamy).
The only difference, then, between the FLDS and the LDS is that the FLDS are actually better Mormons (more faithful to the founders’ ‘revelations’) than the mainstream LDS people.

Absolutely right and McCain has stated it should be someone who will augment his values and beliefs for what the office of the president should stand for.
Unfortunately, the fashion statement that the left is making in the coming nomination of Obama, clouds the public’s logic with flash and pizzaz. I always argue, it’s not JUST a black man you want to vote in, make sure it’s the right man (who happens to be black) for the job. Obama isnt’ that man.
I do agree with your logic that it is not just a black man you want to vote in, but I disagree with you on whether he is the man for the job. I think he is the man for the job. He’s been an elected official since 1997 and worked very hard. He has sponsored and passed literally THOUSANDS of reform bills in Illinois on healthcare, civil rights, and ethics, and other laws to help ordinary working class people get ahead. He worked as a community organizer for EVERYBODY; not just blacks. And apparently it paid off considering the way he has organized his campaign from the bottom up and grown the high level of support he has. He took this job after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law when he could have done otherwise. McCain graduated 5th from the bottom of his class and consistently votes agaist civil rights. When Obama finally did decide to practice law, he chose to be an advocate for ordinary people as a civil rights attorney, while Hillary Clinton decided to spend he legal career defending corporations. He has also been an educator in a top 5 law school. Obama is not old money; he knows what it is like to work his way up. The money he has, he got from writing books. You can say what you want to about him, but the fact of the matter is, he is a smart man and it shows from his election results and the MANY accomplishments he has made over the years that many on this forum will continue to ignore, or downplay simply because they do not want to see him do well; never did from the get go. We can have McCain calling Asians Gooks and saying he will continue to use the word regardless of who it offends with his own mouth; we can have McCain demeaning the contribution of Martin Luther King to this country and refusing to honor him; we can have McCain say he doesn’t know much about economics, and never question him. But Obama’s pastor, another individual, can say something (not Obama) and America tries to destroy him. Same thing with Hillary: she can lie about sniper fire and a host of other things; show us her lack of fiscal responsibility in her campaign (which she had to loan $5 million for irresponsible spending), but it’s ok for her to be in charge of our multitrillion dollar budget. Folks want to point the finger everywhere but at their own candidate. The fact is, all three of them have one issue or another, but when it’s Obama with an issue, people make sure it is magnified to no end.
I resent the fact that many people have some kind of preconceived notion that because I am a southern white Christian Republican, I must be racist, sexist, and elitest. Just a few facts:
1)I could care less what color you are as long as you are a productive member of society and dont expect me to pay your house payments, dr. bills, or raise your kids.
2)I in fact love women. Some would even say I am infatuated with them.
3)I am of the notion that as long as I work hard-ethically-that I should be able to enjoy the majority of my paycheck and whatever status that it may give me.
I don’t like Obama because he is a raging Socialist-redistribution of wealth, ridiculous regulation, and handout after handout.
I don’t like Hillary because she has allowed the Left wing loons to overtake her and turn her into a puppet for feminism.
That is why I personally believe that the world as we know it would end with the election of either of these options to be the leader of the free world.
To overcome this possibility McCain must pick a more socially conservative minded person who has strong executive and economic credentials. Age, race, and gender are of a concern but not to the degree that some would like it to be.
So my plead to Mr. McCain, Lets have a McCain/Palin ticket in ‘08. She is young, conservative, economically literate and a well liked Alaskan executive. Let’s make history Oldest/Youngest ‘08!
The non Mormon American Conservitive is once again publishing a pack of lies. It is almost as if he never investigated the well documented excommunicated polygamist groups. These groups have been prosecuted in Utah and Arizona and have left there for what they hope to be more friendly grounds in Texas. Please keep on prosecuting them. Anygroup that practices what they believe has little to do with Mormonism.
Now getting back to Shelby/Ed/American Conservitive/Whomever
You are a self described holder of Advanced Degrees in Religion, yet you fail to respond to my simple question regarding a small dichotomy in the first chapter of Genesis were it talks about the light being separated from the dark on Day 1 while the Sun, Moon, and Stars, are stated as being created on Day 4. As noted, a good debate should start at the begginning, and we cannot get much closer to the beggining than Genesis Chapter1.
Then on 4/9/08 using the Screen name Shelby at 1:33 pm on the McCain Rice Ticket Thread you replied back to me:
I’ll respond to your inquiry as if I have no clue of the answer, that way you can cut to the quick and get right to your point – you feel like the Bible is filled with errors. Fine, okay, no problem. You’re welcome to disparage and discredit the Word of God. He can (and will) defend Himself (and incidentally, I pity people like you who will be objects of His wrath). JUST DON’T CALL YOUR MORMON RELIGION CHRISTIAN – YOU DON’T BELIEVE THE BIBLE, FINE! CONTINUE IN YOUR COUNTERFEIT CULT – May it bring you happiness in THIS life, ‘cuz (unless you turn from your man-made cult and come to faith in Christ), you’re toast in the next
Please note: I have never said that I do not believe in the bible. Nor have I ever implied that it is false. I am just asking, giving his understanding of theology how he reconciles this seeming dichotomy from Genesis Chapter 1.
I repeat once again that anybody who has studied religion should surely be familiar with this question. Come on Shelby.Ed/Non Mormon American Conservitive lets hear your explanation.
If you are going to continue falsely slamming my church, at least be enough of a student of your own religion to answer one simple question.
Proudmale:
I don’t think you’re going to get anywhere with this crowd. You may want to save your breath for another time and place. In the meantime, who do you like for VP with McCain?
Yeah, well go look at the prosperous points in time and you will see that when wealth is distributed in such a way that allows poor, working class, and middle class individuals the compensation they deserve, they spend money. That fuels the economy. The taxes that Obama will raise on the rich is a fraction of what they will make if people actual make a wage that will drive their stocks, and allow them to declare dividends for them selves. Clearly this is nothing but greed. The rich wouldn’t be where they are, period, with out everyday, hard working Americans to buy products their companies sell. The minimum wage has been ignored so long that to fix it for inflation, the jump in numerical value looks unfeasible. But that is exactly the problem with America right now. Wages are not keeping pace anywhere near inflation, and to top it off, these trade agreements, and rich folks on the board and getting giant bribes in Congress are forcing Americans to compete for fewer jobs that pay less money. All the while, they cut taxes for these people who are multimillionaires at the expense of workers. And for what? How many Benzes and Bimmers and vacation homes do you need? One day, those people will die and will leave that all behind. My point is, if you make $15 million a year, and now you suddenly make $12 million because of taxes, I do not feel sorry for you. You can still have anything that you want. But those millions that you don’t get to keep can go for social security; they can go for healthcare; they can go for education. But a lot of these Republicans will sit here and say they are the voice of Christianity, but when it comes to allowing some of their blessings to bless other people, Jesus is nowhere in their line of sight. Pure hypocrisy.
If Condi would do it, that would just be awesome. Go Condi.
Glad to see John understands free market capitalism. I am nowhere near rich, in fact I have worked since the age of 14 and am saving money to help pay for college this fall.(UNC-Chapel HIll, or Wake Forest) I am doing it the way it was intended, without handouts and without excuses. I have no problem with adequetly funding social security, medicare, foodstamps, headstart, etc. but it should be done responsibly. I work in the medical profession and have seen what some people can weasle the govt. into paying for. Then when their medicine is 1.05 instead of 0.00 they go insane. Not because they can’t afford it, but because it’s not FREE. And you know who is paying for it, my 85 year old great-grandpa who is working still to keep my granny’s medical bills down. I don’t disagree that big oil makes too much compared to us in rural NC but it’s not my place to take their money away to pay for my education or my father’s disability. And as far as Jesus is concerned if you don’t give it willingly you might as well not give it at all. Obama has offered program after program but yet to explain how to fund it except taxing our small businesses more, which would pale in comparison to the billions of empty campaign promises he has made. Enough with open ended proposals of HOPE and CHANGE and more talk of ABILITY and PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! I propose we get rid of wasteful spending, delete the deficit and embrace a smaller, more efficient government.
Ryan,
I really think that New Gingrich would be the dream VP. If you have not already read it I suggest that you read his new book winning the future.
I see that you are at WSU so I am going to assume you are in college. Look up Newt’s Contract With America during the 1990s. People falsely give Clinton credit for the budget surpluses that were largely created by the Contract With America.
Unlike the clowns that followed him as Speaker of the House, Newt delivered on true Conservitive principles. The trouble with many conservitives is that they want to go back to the agenda that worked for the 1990s. As Newt points out in his book we face a vastly different world and within that world need to entirely new ways to achieve success. His book lays out what he calls a 21st Century Contract with America. Given what that man delivered in the past I am inclined to listen to his solutions for the troubled future.
This is interesting – found this list of chickenhawks and warriordoves on Common Dreams – boy, those ‘patriots’ sure put their own lives on the line for their country! I’d love to see a similar list of these people’s children…

If anyone else comes into this compound to steal my wives and their children, you’re toast!
So far, over 400 of our hottest LDS babes have been carted off in church buses…
all because our religion urges us to impregnate and abuse 13 year-old girls.
What a crock!!!
She should be tried for war crime!
It is all her fault getting us in Iraq
Loving it, I respect your opinion, but as far as your grandfather footing the bill, there definitely must be parameters set to protect people like him. But that’s what legislation is all about. The other thing is, you will always have people trying to beat the system somehow for free, but that is an issue that will be around whether the highest tax bracket is 36%, 39%, or 80%; it doesn’t matter. The bottom line is that the peole have always funded government programs. They fund the ones you like, and fund the ones you hate. But many of these programs are necessary, and because the higher income people are where they are today because of the little people, it should not be a problem to let a little more of the money go back. As I said before, the growth that comes back for that small investment comes back to them by far more anyway. You need not question my understanding of what’s going on LovingIt; all you need do is look around you. I don’t disagree with you on getting rid of useless spending; that is a huge problem. Now, as far as your comment on giving willingly: your vote is your voice. Your motivations for voting speak to what you are about and who you are. If one of your motivations is to be stingy and say, to hell with the American public, I’m sorry, but you need to go read the New Testament again. That isn’t to say everyone must abide by that. If you are atheist or of another religion, you conduct yourself as you will. But if you claim to be a Christian, then be one.
Anyone linked to Bush will not win in the next election including all who stood by him in his policies. The Bush administation has to much corruption or just plain ole stupidity. Everything they have touched has had terrible consequences. The people in the state of Kentucky are ready for a big change. We are sick of fighting over the obvious difference between the party. Voters are ready to pick leaders who will deal with the issues that are in dire need of change. Because to be honest, I really could care less about the gays getting married, the falling dollar is a far more serious matter. There are atleast dozens of other issues that we need to be talking about. Progress won’t be made til we can come together, and if it takes the dems. to take over everything to do it, its the republicans own fault for refusing to bend at every corner. Get ready because a glass ceiling is going to be broken. America is in critical condition and its going to take an extrodinary person to save us. Oh and by the way Obama is not muslim its a rumer that some racist started
How about McCain/Colin Powell?
John,
Well said.
But I am a fiscal Conservative. That means I spend my money wisely and expect my government to do so as well. Like I already mentioned I understand the need for ‘programs’ but that doesnt mean we should start giving handouts to anybody and everybody. You work, you eat. You dont work, you dont eat. Thats how we are raised down here. You pull your own weight and dont expect anything from anybody-but respect. If you fall on hard times you look to your family, freinds, church and most importantly God. I know what it’s like not knowing how the bills are going to get paid. But they did. We fell behind but worked our butts off to get back in shape. Did Congress help? NO. Did programs help? NO. Did family help? YES. Did church help? YES. We never once asked for anything resembling a handout and we made it. If I can work, be involved in church, extracurriculars, community service, and still be second in my graduating class, anybody can. No government entity can take the place of hard work and dedication. I am a compassionate person and if you want to get down to numbers, I gave more to charity percentage wise than Barack himself. I care about others, I give when I can and sometimes even when I cant. I’ve read the Testament, New and Old, and I understand the main philosophy of Christianity. I do not wish to argue about my religion with anyone because its pointless, arguing over such things never gets anyone anywhere. I love Jesus and because of that I love people. It is my opinion that when faced with the choices of Obama or McCain, the latter would best suit this country especially considering our current economic state. That is my opinion and that is in fact how I plan to vote.
John,
The Beatles, not your everyday Conservitive Band wrote a classic ballad ‘The TaxMan’. George Harrison was infuriated that the British marginal tax rate had gotten up to 95% hence the lyric 19 for me 1 for you. You might want to look at what was happening with the British “Welfare State” of that time with its high unemployment, general hopelessness, and sense of going nowhere. Then a women that I could have easily voted for, Mrs. Thatcher (Margaret) came along and started Britians Conservitive overhaul years before Reagan started the one in America. Take a look at what happened during her tenure with regards to unemployment and poverty. It knocked the British Liberal scene “off its rockers” when they saw that Conservitism works and that lowering tax rates can, and indeed does, generally increase the total tax revenue over time. The reasons deal with the double impact of increasing investment in a macroeconomic sense and leaving people more of their paychecks to spend in a microeconomic sense. Therefore, it certainly does matter that the tax rate stays below, very much bel0ow 80%.

You did not mention your military status. I myself am a veteran of the United States Air Force, have a Son who is a Combat Medic on duty in Iraq at this moment, and have a son in law who is a Combat Infantry Scout who just returned from his first tour of duty in Iraq in early February and will be returning there shortly after the first of the year. Oh yeah, my Dad is a Veteran from World War II with a 30% Service Connected Disability from the United States Army.
Where would that qualify me on your scale?
My fellow Democrats -
- HERE IS ANOTHER REASON TO VOTE FOR SENATOR CLINTON>>>
Here is the latest Head to Head survey as of April 7 – 9 by the Associated Press National Poll (AP)…..TODAY!!!
WASHINGTON — Republican Sen. John McCain has “ERASED” Sen. Barack Obama’s 10-point advantage in a head-to-head matchup, leaving him essentially tied with both Democratic candidates in an Associated Press-Ipsos national poll released Thursday.
The survey showed the extended Democratic primary campaign creating divisions among supporters of Obama and rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and suggests a tight race for the presidency in November no matter which Democrat becomes the nominee.
McCain is benefiting from a bounce since he clinched the GOP nomination a month ago. The four-term Arizona senator has moved up in matchups with each of the Democratic candidates, particularly Obama.
An AP-Ipsos poll taken in late February had Obama leading McCain 51-41 percent.
THE CURRENT SURVEY, conducted April 7-9, HAD McCAIN/OBAMA at 45 percent each.
McCAIN “LEADS” OBAMA AMONG MEN, WHITES, SOUTHERNERS, MARRIED WOMEN AND INDEPENDENTS.
BUT BETWEEN SENATOR CLINTON AND McCAIN….
CLINTON LED McCAIN, 48-43 PERCENT,in February.
THE LATEST SURVEY SHOWED NEW YORK SENATOR CLINTON W/ 48% SUPPORT to McCAIN 45%. Factoring in the poll’s margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, Clinton and McCain are statistically tied with a positive points for SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON…
TO ALL DEMOCRATS READ AND KNOW THESE FACTS>>>>
THIS IS THE VERY REASON WHY GOP HAS BEEN DOING THEIR BEST TO DESTROY HILLARY CLINTON>>>
Have you ever wonder ????? READ THESE FACTS>>>
WHY GOP surrogates such as FOX news, and other conservative Media personalities are doing all they can to destroy SENATOR CLINTON CAMP???
- RUSH LIMBAUGH – THE AUTHOR OF “OPERATION CHAOS” -”WHICH VERY PURPOSE IS to make an impression reverse to what was intended” – to trick and produce a perception upon the minds of Democrats supporters that SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON is only winning because of this operation, but in reality is trying to help BARRACK OBAMA to clinch the nomination.
-OUR APPEAL TO DNC LEADERSHIP AND ALL SUPERDELEGATES IS TO SUPPORT>>>….
- SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON IF YOU WANT TO WIN BACK THE WHITE HOUSE.
- SUPERDELEGATE SHOULD VOTE BASE ON THE VERY PURPOSE WHY WE CREATED YOU…
- WHICH IS TO ELECT THE MOST ELECTABLE CANDIDATE WHO CAN BEAT GOP CANDIDATE…
- YOUR LOYALTY SHOULD BE FOR THE “PARTY AS A WHOLE” AND NOT FOR ONE PERSON…
- AND TO AVOID ANOTHER YEARS OF BUSH-LIKE ADMINISTRATION…
-DNC LEADERS AND SUPERDELEGATES YOU ARE THE REAL HOPE OF OUR PARTY…
-IF WE LOSE THERE’S NOBODY TO BLAME BUT YOU!!!
I realize Rice has a lot of experience and very intelligent. However, she is TOO much like Bush, and the only way the McCain can win – is if they distance themselves from Bush. People want to be out of Iraq (me included) but we must do it in a responsible way. If McCain has Rice as his VP, then it appears to be an extension of a Bush Administration. I’m not saying Bush did a bad job, but c’mon…..look at the approval numbers alone. McCain is very smart, and he’ll figure this one out for sure.
Can you do the pole on these 2 country greats.
It’s great to hear of Obama’s running mate for president General Colin L. Powell.

Man, so-called ‘disabilities’ must run in your family.
Great Choice !!
No way a McCain/Rice ticket would be successful.
2 reasons: 1. associated with President Bush
2. not socially conservative enough.
A lot of people haven’t caught on yet, but the conservative movement is gaining momentum.
Why are conservatives/republicans so affraid of a McCain/Rice ticket being associated with GWB? Waht is the GOP so affraid of or even embarrassed of? Obama is associated with anti Americans, anti semites, racists, domestic terrorists and communists…shouldnt that be more of a concern to American voters in November? If the GOP truly believes that the Obama connections make him more electable vs a McCain/Rice ticket, than why don’t they encourage McCain to choose a VP that has Obama-like connections? Republicans need to make a stand. They need to show America that at this time in American history, Americans need to make an extremely important choice. Do you want a president that has Obama-like associations? Or do you want a McCain/Rice White House that would vow to kill and capture murderous islamic extremist terrorists?
The GOP should not back down..never relent. Giving in to the far left opinion of what America should be will only erode the GOP. The one major issue that Americans have with Bush is the Iraq war. McCain needs to do what the majority of Americans want..reduce troop levels in Iraq but continue to kill and capture terrorists worldwide. Military bases need to be installed throughout Iraq and troop sizes dimnished. We no longer need such a large presence there to focus on killing and capturing terrorists. There are tens of thousands more murderers in Afghanistan, yet we have so fewer troops there, and doing a magnificent job (with very little help from the rest of the world to boot). Having the bases in Iraq will also keep the infant democracy fairly stable.
Most of America has a high opinion of Condoleeza Rice, maybe the highest among female political figures. Definitely the highest among black female political figures. Her connection to the Bush administration hasnt hurt her in her opinion ratings, she still has a favorability opinion more than double that of Bush. Rice is who GOP voters want to see as VP. She is a patriot that loves her country and respects its traditions. Romney comes off more as an opportunist. His favorability ratings among all Americans are very low. Rice is attractive to the 60+ percent of Americans that already approve of her experience, values and patriotism and she is also attractive to minority and women democrats and independants.
If McCain chooses a VP other than Rice, it will be seen as ‘giving in’ to far left ideals and activism. The left has been calling the GOP racist and masoganistic forever. The GOP has always accused the far left of being unpatriotic and weak on national security and foreign policy. A McCain/Rice ticket will once and for all prove to America and the world that the GOP, on those issues, has it right, and that the left has it completely wrong.
If in Novemeber Americans choose all that is wrong over all that is right, well it is what it is. The majority rules in America and if thats what we want, then thats what we’ll have. If the GOP voters get out and vote America will be fine….for a while anyway.
Defend what is right McCain! Defend what the majority of Americans want! And never relent from the war on terrorism!
Obama..ummm put your flag pin back on or somethin! jeez
and Hillary….your a pathalogical liar. period.

Minority has a say….Majority says how it goes…The Majority will speak in November. Does the majority accept all of Obama’s negative connections? We’ll see. McCain/Rice 08!!!
Viva America!
is there a petition online asking Condoleeza to join McCain? Ive heard rumors.
PLEASE CONDI PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I agree with Nancy in OH – and I’m a Bush supporter. As far as opposers go, I’m ABC – Anyone But Clinton – but McCain DOES have a bit of a liberal side that the ultra conservatives of this country don’t like. His best bet is to pick up Huckabee, a true far conservative, who will not only pick up the conservative, GWB, and religious votes, it will help with the Dems who are tempted by his Fair Tax program. And how could THAT not get America excited??? Have a conservative ticket, with a little leeway in the Pres, and VP that wants to wipe out the IRS and impose a flat tax. Now THAT would be a hands down winner!
Sory Steph…but only a small minority of Americans want Huckabee to be the next VP. The majority of votes Huckabee got after Iowa were just conservatives unhappy with McCains more liberal views. Huckabee, as VP, will have zero chance of instituting the fair tax. Whomever McCain chooses as his running mate will strictly stand by McCains policies only during the campaign and debates. McCain needs a VP that helps in the states that are heavy with African American voters anyway. He already has the conservative, GWB and religious votes, but I do agree that Huckabee would probably increase those votes to a point. The GOP voters need to get out and vote no matter who McCain chooses though. Dont let Obama win GOP!!

__________
Huckabee received over 40% of the African American vote in Arkansas when he was running for Governor…If anybody (any Republican) can win over some African Americans, it’s Mike Huckabee.
Fox News = Rupert Murdock’s GOP propaganda network and McSame’s election headquarters.
Condi Rice, another in a long line of incompetent Bush hacks, ignored that memo about terrorist flying aircraft into US buildings.
Heck of a job Condi!
The 9-11 attacks were plotted, planned and trained for all throughout the Clinton administration. Clinton did nothing to stop or prevent even one terrorist attack in America or worldwide. Clinton is responsible killing or capturing exactly ZERO terrorists. But during his administration scores of Americans were killed by terrorists attacks all over the world and in America itself.
The Bush administration is responsible for the death or capture of a few hundred thousand terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world. The Bush administration is also responsible for the liberation of a few hundred million people that were being murdered, tortured, raped and pillaged. Bush is also responsible for dismantling two of the most brutal regimes since Hitlers nazi regime.
The United States spends more money on avoiding troop casualties and civilian casualties than most countries spend on their entire military budget.
Bush was president for only 8 months prior to the 9-11 attacks. He could only work with the intelligence that was available from the previous administration, which was so diminished by Clinton that terrorist attack after terrorist attack went on and on until 9-11. Had Bush created Homeland Security and gave our intelligence agencies all the money and resources they needed on day one of his adminstration, would democrats have allowed that? Of course not, the Dems have been fighting against the war on terror since 9-11, since Bush took the fight into his own hands, something Bill Clinton chose not to do for 8 years.
It has taken the lives of several thousand troops to kill or capture a few hundred thousand terrorists since 9-11. a few hundred attacks have been prevented. Yet democrats continue to ignore this. Has even one democrat ever stated the total number of terrorists killed or captured? Or the number of attacks we have stopped in their tracks? Of course not. We lost a few hundred thousand troops in WWII liberating hundreds of millions of people around the world, was that not worth it either?
After 9-11 all Americans should be willing to do anything to kill or capture terrorists and prevent anymore attacks anywhere. The fact that only half the country is willing to do this or even recognize that it has been done tremendously for the past 7 years is pathetic. Being critical of American policy is your right, but not wanting to even do anything to protect America is downright un-American and treasonous.
HOW DARE SHE DISRESPECT JIM CARTER THE FORMER PRESIDENT!!! SHE’S GARBADGE!!! I’M BLACK AND I DON’T THINK HIGHTLY OF HER. PLEASE!!!!
BUSH STOLE THE PRESIDENCY AND WAS IN OFFICE SETH NOT CLINTON
Condi Rice is not pro-life. That’s a deal breaking issue.
Colin Powell would be a better choice for a running mate. The majority of the black vote will go to the Dems especially if Obama is their nominee. Colin Powell is popular not because he is black, but because he is an honest, proven leader.
If not Powell, the top two considerations need to be Romney or the Governor of Florida. Romney brings in Michigan and is acceptable to the evangelicals. Florida brings in a big electoral college vote. The desired end state is to win. Other than bringing in electoral votes, running mates do not matter much. If the end state is credibility and a win, then Powell is the best choice.
It’s hard to say; Rice has been pretty supportive of Bush, but we don’t really know alot about her, really. I think McCain should consider her, but he needs to know where she stands on issues other than the war on terror.

Terrorist attacks and murders of Americans during the Clinton administration:
1993 World Trade Center Bombing…over 1000 Americans injured and 6 Americans murdered
1995 bombing of an American miitary facility in Saudi Arabia… 5 Americans murdered
1996 Bin Laden declares war on the United States, a war that America would not begin to fight and defend itself from until almost 7 years later under the Bush administration
1996 Khalid Sheikh Mohammed first presented Phase 1 of the plan to Bin Laden for the September 11th attacks and murder of thousands of Americans
1996 bombing of Khobar towers in Saudi Arabia….over 200 Americans injured and 19 Americans murdered
1997 Al-Qaeda initiates Phases 2 and 3 of the plan for the September 11th attacks and murder of thousands of Americans
1998 bombings of 3 seperate American embassies in Africa…over 5000 injured and 224 murdered
1998 Bin Laden selects Al Qaeda terrorists to train for hijacking passenger aircraft and flying them into US targets for the September 11th attacks and murder of thousands of Americans
1999 Al Qaeda hijackers first begin to arrive in US to form a terrorist cell in the US and carry out final phases of September 11th attacks and murder of thousands of Americans
1999 Bin Laden authorizes specific US targets for the September 11th attacks and murder of thousands of Americans
2000 Al Qaeda hijackers complete lessons to fly passenger aircraft at flight schools in America and further train to hijack aircrat at secret locations in America for September 11th attacks and murder of thousands of Americans
2000 bombing of USS Cole… 17 Americans murdered and 3 others mamed for life
2000 Al Qaeda enters final phase of 9-11 plot to murder thousands of Americans
2000 Bin Laden envisions 9-11 attacks as a tool for recruiting tens of thousands of terrorists worldwide
2001 Clinton is removed from office leaving Bush all intelligence and counterterrorism agencies in dissaray, dangerously understaffed and under-funded and years behind Al qaeda and their 9-11 plot
2001 less than 275 days after Clinton sneaks out of Washington, without having done anything throughout his administration to prevent all the attacks and murders of Americans or to kill or capture the murderous terrorists , and without doing anything to foil the 9-11 plot to murder thousands of Americans that began during Clintons first term and continued throughout his entire second term, the World Trade Center and the Pentagon is attacked on 9-11, just as Bin Laden had planned throughout Clintons administration, by Al Qaeda hijackers murdering thousands of Americans and injuring thousands more.
bonus:
2001-present Bush administration and US military, including over 4000 brave soldiers that lost their lives in the war on murderous terrorists, responsible for the death or capture of hundreds of thousands of murderous islamic faciasts in Iraq and Afghanistan and around the world including Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Sadaam loyalists including Sadaam Hussein himself and his 2 murderous sons. Also hundreds of terrorist plots foiled, including every single plot on American soil. Democrats refuse to aknowledge any of this. Democrats continue to threaten or completely stop every anti-terrorism bill and policy and free murderous terrorists in Guantanamo.
2007 Nancy Pelosi goes to Syria for friendly visit to negotiate with (not kill or capture) murderous terrorist leaders.
2008 Jimmy Carter goes to Syria for friendly visit to negotiate with (not kill or capture) murderous terrorist leaders. Also, Barack Hussein Obama declares at a campaign rally “We need to put 9-11 behind us” further stating that the Bush administration is using 9-11 to scare Americans, rather than stating that it is indeed, Al qaeda itself and there attacks, most notably 9-11, that were carried out specifically to scare Americans, and that indeed, the Bush administration and true Americans will never ‘put 9-11 behind us’ and will fight murderous terrorists wherever they are until the last one is dead or captured!
Put your flag pin back on Obama and defend America, quit fighting it.
And Bill, America thanks you.
For years I felt that Ms.Rice would be a perfect choice for V.P. She exhibits moral character, sound judgement, intelligence and loyalty. But those hopes were dashed when several years ago (I believe it was prior to the last election) she was asked if she would consider furthering her political career upon completion of the current administration. If I recall correctly, she commented that she was looking forward to returning to her previous career at university.
That being said, I am an avid Fox News watcher. I would love to know how former Lt.Gov.Michael Steele would feel about entertaining the idea of being V.P.? Love him !
I agree Donna about Michael Steele, but it would be viewed strictly for political expediency, and thus would be a disservice to a fine man.
yeah, Mike Steele is a great man, but I agree that choosing him as VP would definitely make McCain look like an opportunist. I also think Condi would be a fantastic choice for VP, but I doubt there’s an African American Republican out there that would be willing to be put through the racial ringer by the far left hateful people. Obama uses his color to benefit him politically, he’s the man that says he transcends racial bigotry but has 85% of the black vote with over half of those black supporters admitting in some polls that they vote Obama strictly becuase he’s black. But as horrible as that is, it will give him the Democratic nomination and maybe the presidency. Condi and Mike Steele don’t have it in them to be such racial dividers. They both are great Americans. Great people.
Condi would be McCains best bet for Vice President.Number One if Obama wins the nomination then Condi will pull the Black vote by a huge number, Number 2 if Clinton wins then Condi would pull the Black and Female Vote. This is the only way for McCain and the Republican Party to go. This would put a woman as the FIRST VICE PRESIDENT and the FIRST BLACK to hold such a high office. Killing two birds with one stone. McCain-Rice Ticket all thee way to Washington.
I will vote for that.
At one point I thought Condi Rice would make an excellent choice for either President or Vice President, but after finding out her views on being “Pro-Choice”, I realize she’d be another Giuliani.
A non-starter as a Republican.
With that logic, we will never have a female president or VP. No woman will ever be elected unless they are pro choice. No one can win without the female vote. Females represent the largest majority in America. The GOP needs to be more open minded about abortion otherwise they will never have a female nominee. Its entirely a female issue that men shouldnt even try to judge. What if we insisted or implimented laws that contraception like condoms was unconstitutional because it prevents the miracle of life? Would men accept that? Being pro abortion is one thing, but pro choice is entirely something different. No one should ever be pro abortion, it should only be a last resort in cases of violent crimes and other drastic situations, but it cant be completly unconstitutional. The best way to almost eradicate the need for abortions is just to have the death penalty for rapists that impregnate victims and mandatory life sentences for all other sex offenders. Repeat offenders and the lack of stiff mandatory penalties and gutless judges are a major cause of abortions. We can all thank the ACLU for that.
Think about this, Bush is pro life but during his 8 years in office millions of abortions have taken place, statistically more abortions than during the pro choice Clinton administration. The pro life leaning supreme court hasnt done anything to prevent the increase in abortions nor have any past pro life admistrations. A pro choice president like Rice would not be to blame for the continuing increase in abortions. Rapists, weak judges, terrible parenting and the ACLU are the biggest culprits!
Condi Rice would represent women and lead America fantastically. Girl power!!!
I’d be a lot happier with a Condi-McCain ticket
I’d be happier if we had a Conservative running for Pres

Walker, I agree, but there are no more conservatives in the Republican Party anymore. The party left US.
