No US President, even the less popular Presidents, “ALWAYS” negotiated by threatening military action.

It’s not as a peace broker. If they wanted a peace process they wouldn’t be sending rockets into Israel to derail (and they’ve said that’s their goal as well) Fatah, Condi Rice and Israel trying to wrangle a peace proposal.

I know you perceive Hamas’ endorsement of Obama as some kind of “olive branch” and “progress”. It isn’t I assure you. Hamas’ tenets are clear, they want nothing less than the destruction of Israel. They have admitted openly that they will not recognise any peace inititives brokered by the US between Fatah and Israel.

Hamas’ wants Obama in power because they can see he may (whether consciously or not) get them closer to their ultimate goal.

Why is this so difficult for you Sean?

I like the democratic debates, once they get going its usually a solid policy based debate. If people can’t tell I’m an Obama supporter, but Hillary does have a great handle on the issues. As long as John McCain doesn’t win, we should be ok (I just feel Obama, would do more than Clinton)

I am glad you do not mind it..but after listening to Vitnam vets say how it bothered them back in that war..I can only assume many young men and woman would be affected by such negative attitudes towards the Commander in Chief of the United States in this war:) Plus I listen to families daily stess how they are proud of this country and how they believe we are doing a good thing in Iraq, why do they feel the need to stress this so much? March 11, 2004 — Obama met Middle Eastern bankers at the Four Seasons hotel in Chicago at a reception hosted by Rezko, who was courting potential investors for a 62-acre South Loop development. Auchi later took control of that project but did not attend, sources say.

Some very interesting points from last night’s debate Make.

Obama was asked point blank…why don’t you wear a flag pin? He said he reveres the flag..then started up with this is distraction, let’s discuss real issues..BUT..he never answered the question..”why don’t you wear a flag pin?”.

Secondly, he was asked about Bill Ayers..he immediately went to “I was 8 when he bombed New York..etc.” Hillary pushed him on his appearances with Ayers and Ayers rhetoric after 9/11 and Obama’s appearances with Ayers after . Obama then pushed it aside by saying Ayers “is a guy that lives down the street”. Again Obama said this is distraction, let’s discuss issues. Again..Obama didn’t answer the charge directly, he even tried to avoid it by saying he was too young when Ayers was an active terrorist.

When pushed on no new taxes, Hillary said (wrongly) No new taxes. Obama said not just no new taxes but tax reductions to the middle class…BUT..when pushed on earning thresholds and capital gains taxes he buckled, he essentially said…”we’ll look at it and assess it”. I predict Obama will (if he’s the nominee) use emotional appeals like last night’s “McCain believes pain trickles up” during his debates with McCain. However, when Obama is pushed on the details he shows his weakness, he shows he’s not being completley honest and he buckles like melting butter. McCain’s going to eat him alive in the debates.

Another interesting point, Hillary said an attack on Israel by Iran would be met with severe (her exact term eludes me right now) retaliation but she was clear, Iran strikes Israel, Iran can expect to get hit itself. She mentioned Ahmedinejad’s comments yesterday about 9/11 not being real..ad nauseum. Obama waffled when pressed, Iran needs to understand…Israel is an ally…no option is off the table…essentially a much softer tone.

Obama has a pattern, denial, then when pressed, divert and dismiss.

Ayers is a close friend of Obama..Ayers hosted a fund raising party in his home in Chicago for Obama..

Another major fundraiser for Obama is William Ayers, who also sat on the board of the Woods Fund with Obama and is a professor at the University of Chicago.

Bill Ayers, along with his wife Bernadine Dohrn, was an active member of the Weather Underground, a radical left-wing group that advocated violence against the United State. Both Ayers and Dohrn went “underground” in 1970 after others in the group accidentally detonated a bomb in a Greenwich Village (New York City) townhouse. The blast killed three of the group’s members including Ayers’ girlfriend at the time.

While Ayers and Dohrn were hiding from law enforcement, the Weather Underground participated in the bombings of the US Capital, the Pentagon and a State Department building. During Obama’s last year on the board of The Woods Fund (2002), he participated in awarding grants, including a $70,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, a Chicago-based group founded by Rashid and Mona Khalidi.

In another suspected quid pro quo arrangement similar to those with Ayers and Rezko, Rashid Khalidi also held a fundraising event in his home for Barack Obama.

In the Middle East, Rashid Khalidi was known as a man to be reckoned with. From 1972 through 1983, Khalidi was the director in Beirut of the official Palestinian press agency, FAFA. His wife worked there as well.

According to sources, when the Khalidi’s left Chicago for Columbia University in New York, Rashid was honored with the Edward Said Chair in Arab Studies at that Ivy League university. Their goodbye party in Chicago included testimonials from Bill Ayers and Barack Obama.

I paid particular attention when the question was asked because I’m familiar with Obama’s answers in the past. I was listening to see if he repeated them. He deflected with “reverence for the flag, reverence for the United States, this is distraction, let’s discuss the issues”…when he should have said..”I don’t wear a flag pin because…”.

Ok, like Jesus is alright with me and everything and I read the bible and Ive read two thirds of the old testament and most of the new testament and hear is my question.

Jesus was beaten up for a couple days and then hung on a cross to die and that was no doubt hard to bear and hurt alot probably. But it was over in a few days and he rose from the dead and then all was well. Right?

I hurt my back (squashed lower disk) and its hurting like a b*i*tch for over five years and Ive tried everything to fix it. I lost my job. Used up my savings. Got other jobs and had to quit because of the pain.

Other people got cancer and other painful diseases and maladies for years and years.
When Jack Kevorkian helps people in pain die he is called every bad name including the devil.

Seems like Jesus got off easy compared to people who suffer for a LONG time, and he gets all the glory for the sin ransom thing.

There must be a great explanation for this.

I am ready to hear it.

If you vote for Obama, you are voting against Israel who suffer through terrorisum weekly, the middle east hates Israel and they hate us if we abondon Israel they will be attacked and soon after we will be attacked for our country will become a weakling in the eyes of the world. If you read the texts closely you will see that the description of Christ’s final hours show a man not only in deep mental anguish but a man put through pain and humiliation and death that’s incomprehensible.

A few facts:

Christ was said to have sweated blood while in Gethsemane. That’s not just fanciful talk…it’s a medical phenomenon known as haematodrosis. It’s documented and it’s brought on by extreme stress. It’s the capillaries in the skin breaking and offering blood as well as sweat. It’s a small amount but the effect it has on the skin is to make it extremely sensitive.

He’s then taken to Ciaphas for interrogation (the texts say he’s also beaten) then to Pilate, then to Herod, then back to Pilate for final disposition.

He’s now been without sleep for 48 hours.

Pilate orders his chastisement. Research what’s involved in a Roman flagellation (whipping). The Flagellum can have dumbbell shaped attachments, as well as bone and other sharp materials. The customary amount was 40 lashes..but it wasn’t enforced too readily. The whipping had the effect of not only bruising and tearing the flesh, it ripped the flesh to the muscle leaving it in ribbons. We know this from other descriptions of Roman whipping in antiquity and we know Christ’s was particularly harsh through the texts. He then has the crown of thorns placed on his head as well as the cloak placed over his wounds.

He’s probably now suffering from hypovolemic shock (from the trauma and bloodloss). He now has to carry his cross to the place of execution. We know from the texts he was too weak and had to have another carry for him. Then he’s nailed to the cross. The median nerve is crushed in the wrist(the result is agonising pain) and here’s an interesting titbit for you..the word excruciating is dervived from the word crucify. It was a particularly painful process. Crucifixion was also considered the most humiliating way to die at that time in the Roman world. I digress…he’s then hoisted up onto the verticle axis of cross. His shoulders are dislocated. His feet nailed to the cross. He spends up to 9 hours hoisting himself up and down this cross (which is digging into his whipping wounds on his back and legs)in order to breathe. We know he expired quickly compared to some other crucified prisoners (from the texts) and we know he did die on the cross because a Roman soldier pierces his side and John in his gospel notes blood and water issues from the wound. This “water” is pleural fluid from the heart and lungs. His heart is now pierced but to offer the fluid, we know he’s already died before the coup de grace of the spear thrust.

Obama can explain away these bad associations individually, but taken all together they paint a picture of either a naive who doesn’t know any better, or an indiscriminating person who doesn’t care who he associates with….or someone with bad judgement who has no problem with the bad acts of these people. They all result in BAD JUDGEMENT.

That’s all I need to know about Obama. Espcially having lived through Jimmy Carter’s administration….the cheezy gift that keeps on giving.

I just don’t see how it is constructive or productive or positive in any way for me to become dependant on others who already work hard to pull their own weight just to keep me alive in misery and idleness. Yes, people here are suffering with medicine and hospitals and lots of liberals to make sure they get their way. If you had read the Bible you would see that not one of gods people died of a disease, at least the ones with faith,thats what you lack so you want understand untill you have a little faith.

Jimmy Carter has been impossible to manage for many years. The only thing I would ever say to him that might possibly get through his very thick head, is whether he would have liked it if another president previous to him had gone to the ME to negotiate the release of our men during the Iran/Carter mess.
