Americans are, by and large, moderate to conservative when it comes right down to it.
Complaining about taxes and high prices, then voting for a liberal democrat, is nonsensical. They won’t do it.

When faced with the realization that a weakened national defense exposes not only us, but our civilized friendly allies, and mutual economies, they won’t be able to vote liberal democrat either.

More and higher taxation directly correlates to loss of personal liberty, while enriching those who did nothing for the enrichment – that’s called theft. Again, voting for a liberal democrat makes no sense here.

Take heart. When the democrats finish flogging themselves, and determine a nominee, the ensuing mono e mono campaign will reveal the undesirable socialist nature of today’s democrat party.

If it’s Obama, well, he simply hasn’t the demographic base to win.

If it’s Clinton, she’ll be a more formidable opponent, but in essence she’s in the same political quadrant as Obama. She’s just a more effective deceiver.

I’m not a McCain fan, but there’s no way I’d vote myself a pay cut (higher taxes), a personal responsibility cut, and a security cut by voting for a liberal democrat.

Two reasons to vote for Obama:

Google Obama Rezko Auchi to learn why, no doubt, Obama wouldn’t have invaded Iraq. You will learn if you really research that Obama and Rezko and Auchi met at the Chicago Ritz Carlton hotel at the beginning of Obama’s campaign to strategize–arrange for funding.

It is well known that Rezko is on trial for racketeering/bribery and that he helped Obama get into his mansion, but it is less known that Rezko was well known for buying political influence in the Illinois Democratic Sleeze machine (three of the last 7 governors have gone to prison for malfeasance and the current on is under investigation in connection with Rezko funding). So Obama is part of that as he was bought and paid for by Rezko’s group–his early contribution is documented.

But it gets much much worse. Auchi was a money launderer for Saddam Hussein who was convicted of helping launder food for oil (supposed to go to the poor and suffering) money of Husseins. Interestingly, he provided Rezko with almost the exact amount of money a week or two before that interesting little exchange where Rezko helped Obama buy his house. This Obama guy is rotten through and through.

Global Warming is a hoax. I have seen many fine scientists ruined when they went against the prevailing religion. Now we even have McCain fooled. He says in essence that we should all try to curb this Global Warming even if it is a hoax all it will cause only a cleaner earth to be left to our children!!!

My son has been helping a man who is a recovering alchoholic but who has been doing well with a landscaping business for two years. Now, he is so discouraged as he can’t make enough in a day to pay for gas for his large truck.

Gee, I wonder why Obama, the anti-political posturer, disowned Wright today. My dad got a call last night that might explain.

I got some more information about that call.

It was a live call last night around 7 p.m., not a robocall. The woman on the phone identified herself as with a polling firm of some sort, but did not indicate that she was working at the behest of either campaign.

The call was 6 or 7 minutes long and started with “Are you a registered Democrat?”

After that question, the caller asked, “How closely have you been following the Rev. Wright story,” to which the voter could answer “Very closely,” “Somewhat Closely,” and “Not Closely at all.”

The next question was, “How has your view of Obama been affected by this story,” …

I’m watching MSNBC and Andrea Mitchell is asking NBC correspondent Athena Jones why Obama chose now to finally, unequivocally, part ways with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. In her reporting wisdom, Jones is talking about how Wright offended Obama with his remarks yesterday at the National Press Club. I don’t think so.

My guess is it had something to do with the poll call I got last night. All questions were about the Obama-Wright relationship and whether that made me think more unfavorably about Barack Obama [and if] I was more inclined now to vote for Hillary since this blew up. Due respect to Athena, but she should do a little more reporting and actually ask Obama why he did what he did a few minutes ago.

I would put money on the fact that Obama saw the results of that snap poll and said, “My God, I’ve got to ditch this guy.”

Michelle Obama wasn’t really proud of America until she saw the outpouring of support for her husband’s presidential run.
Wright has been slamming America for years, but Obama didn’t denounce him until Wright disrespected HIM and he was down in the polls.

when he says that this is not the same Reverend Wright he met 20 years ago? Are we supposed to believe that he did not know that Wright was like this? Next thing you know we will be hearing that Wright is in the beginning stages of dementia and that explains his behavior.
As I write this, MSNBC is discussing whether people will feel sorry for Obama now that they have seen this more “fragile”, “emotional” side. And they are saying that Wright gave Obama permission to cut himself loose from him. Wow! Even I didn’t see that coming.

I know he had to do SOMETHING, but this keeps it in the news another day or so. There’s also too much video out there of Obama saying exactly the opposite of what he said today.
He could have been the most sincere person on earth today, but this just looks like desperation. As others have pointed out, this is going to go to the heart of his argument – his superior judgment. Trust me, I’ve church shopped when I didn’t like what the priest was saying (and I’ve never had a priest say some of the awful things Wright has said). It takes about 6 months to get a feel for a place, not 20 years.

I don’t believe Obama when he says he never heard stuff like this – it’s like the old line from Casablanca (”I’m shocked! Shocked, I tell you…”)

I can’t see Obama’s speech on Wright today helping him. It reeks of being forced and under pressure. It comes after a media blitz of Wright’s appearances over the weekend and Monday and I’m sure Obama’s advisors told him to firmly throw Wright under the bus at this point. So…typical white woman grandmother, now “uncle” Jeremiah have become Obama casualties. The “uniter” still has to get past “guns, God and racism” and Bill Ayers won’t go away either. I have a feeling Rezko may line up Obama for the bus ride also.

I think what stuck on Obama was Wright repeatedly suggesting Obama refuted his words for political expediency. Wright and I actually agree on this point.

Well Wright did say one thing I agree with. He said “Obama says what he must as a politician….” I see Obama’s sudden disgust with Wright as just that. The footage in Michael Moore’s movie has been shown in lots of other Iraq documentaries as well. This is a clever spin by the RNC, since it’s just standard archival war footage and has nothing to do with Moore.

Okay so actual footage of the Iraq War is not usable simply because the same footage appeared in a Michael Moore film? Does the fact that it was in that film make the footage itself a lie? I’m pretty sure its still real Iraq War footage regardless of whether or not Michael Moore previously used it.

I think what you meant to say was that Obama believes “that one may enter the Kingdom of Heaven despite not having accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.” I read the article you forwarded and that is what he seemed to be saying when he said that although his mother was not a Christian such as him, he fully expected to see her in Heaven because she was good person.

Many of us who are saved, hope and wish that loved ones that did good works here on Earth but did not receive Christ and the Sacrements will nonetheless be in Heaven to greet us. I too have fallen to this notion. There’s nothing wrong in that nor is there anything “un-Christian” in that wish. Do we not pray for the foregiveness of unsaved sinners? Do we not pray that God find compassion on certain souls and allow admission to his Kingdom? I know that I do.

Did you see the ad? Yes they used a clip from Fahrenheit, do you know what it was? It was a footage of a bomb going off near soldiers. It was STOCK FOOTAGE. It was the same footage that could have been seen on a news organization. The DNC used it for the same reason Michael Moore used it, not to slander, but because the footage was available. If the DNC had used footage of Michael Moore’s movie where he was actually speaking, or if he was interviewing someone that would be different, but you are arguing that Howard Dean is a bad man because he does what both parties do when they make ads, they get STOCK FOOTAGE.

Don’t beleive me? See for yourself: notice the footage of the bomb going off and NO FOOTAGE OF MOORE HIMSELF?

Holly, I’m surprised that you’re allowed to post such slanderous filth on this page.

As a Christian, if someone tells me they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, I don’t question it. It’s not my place to judge, there is someone else who’ll judge. I cannot believe the way that Obama’s faith has been challenged. It’s disgraceful and all because his parents GAVE him a name. If he would have changed it, you’d be saying he’s being deceptive.

In all the time that George W. Bush has been president, I’ve disagreed with him on many issues. I didn’t vote for him either time he ran. I believe he’s lied to us about Iraq and as Commander-and-Chief is the blame for the failures there. BUT I never questioned nor disputed his claim that he is a Christain.
