I am a former Tennessee resident, and have followed Fred for quite a while. I don't think Fred didn't "really want it" or "didn't want to fight hard enough!" Fred is that kind of person. We lost an honest to God president in Fred Thompson through our own collective incapability for our own governance. Even if we were to learn from this, when was the last time such a worthy candidate stepped up to accept the most thankless job on the planet?? Shame on us all.
