I met my husband after he came home, so I didn't go through the separation. I know Dewey has the so much respect for Col. Day. It is time America really understand what they and other veterans have gone through to make this country free. God Bless Col. Day for all his hard work on behalf of the veterans. It is a fantastic book about his life, including his POW experience. I have to admit, I did not know much about Col. Day before a friend gave me the book, but I am a great admirer of him now. By the way, my friend's father was a Misty pilot during the war, although he never personally met Bud Day - Col. Day was already in captivity when my friend's dad arrived in Vietnam. Col. Day, John McCain and all the others are heros. No one is perfect, but John McCain is hands down the best person for our country. I just finished reading the book about Bud Day, “American Patriot”. They are heroes 100% and I am proud of them . The last three wars korea, Viet Nam and now Iraq, are not wars, You cannot draw lines in the sand and say no no don't shoot across this line it happened. Are we really winning in Iraq? I lost several friends in korea, & Nam useless wars. my neighbor just left for I raq again 2 purple hearts al ready and who knows if his 2 year old will ever realize why Daddy left him ad someday ask his Dad what are these purple things on this ribbon and who is the man portrayed thereon. I hope and pray daily for the safe rerturn of our military personnel. I made it home from Korea, 54,000 did not , 58,000 did not make it home from Nam, over 4500 killed as of the news last week . How many more before this is over... Hang in there CoL's McCain & Day .We the Veterans know what you have done for all of us, we are a Humble Mass. John McCain, I have been a McCain supporter. I vowed at that time if I could in any way support a Presidency for him I would do that. This time I finally have a chance.
